Heylo, meri pyaari सखिया (sakhis) . I have decided to start a "Going back to our roots' series. In these series, I would delve into the ancient knowledge passed down from our purvajs through various mediums (mainly ayurvedha) on beauty and self-care and how to practice them in modern times.
I will be soon uploading a post on haircare. You all can suggest me some topics you would want me to talk about on too.
so it's 2022 and white people are still stealing south asian jewelery 🤡 isn't constantly appropriating our culture enough??? emma chamberlain KNEW the date and the period it was from and her job was asking people about their outfits so she should have asked about the necklace's history. I don't know about you but if I was handed such an antique piece I would research into it more .cartier is at major fault obviously and I'm not surprised a european company continues to profit off south asians lmao .ALSO if you're not south asian you don't get a say on whether this is offensive or not istg if keep seeing comments like "y'all are reaching" , "it's just a necklace" , "people are getting ridiculous over a necklace and bring in race" and other stupid shit i will riot .that necklace along with a lot other Indian jewelry and indian goods in general was stolen from pre colonial and colonial India during colonization. the british rule was a dark dark period for india and we're still to this day facing the after effects of colonization ( i might make a longer post on this idk ,let me know if anyone wants that) so no it's not okay that the whitest person I've ever seen wore it.the queen of england still continues to wear the kohinoor diamond on her crown .other stuff stolen from us is kept in museums like it's something to be displayed. a lot of you need to stop saying stupid shit and learn about why south asians are bothered by this.
- sincerely a tired desi
