Thinking about the previous iterations of Maddie (and some forms as demonstrated by Zorua and Reindeer) having the neck fluff and I'm thinking about bringing it back into the fold with Maddie again. Something about the vibes of having their neckfluff scritched and played with before moving upwards to rub/squish their cheeks makes the vibe so palpable I don't think I can really pass up on it? (Plus it's really fun whenever I draw Maddie as a pooltoy cos I get to just, replace it with a solid ring which is a fun detail :3) (5th image is by @knj_ex on twitter)

Poster Design Challenge - Helvetica Series July 7 2022 Helvetica isn't original—it's based on an 1896 typeface called Akzidenz-Grotesk (known as Standard in the US), which was popular in Switzerland in the early 20th century. The 'Helvetica' name was given to the typeface in 1960 to make it easier to sell abroad (it was originally named Neue Haas Grotesk). What Is Helvetica? Helvetica is a ‘Grotesque’ sans serif typeface. It was created in the 1950s to meet the demand for sans serif typefaces in the tradition of the International Style of graphic design. Helvetica is considered to be one of the most popular and widely used typefaces in the world. Helvetica: Quick Facts Helvetica isn’t original—it’s based on an 1896 typeface called Akzidenz-Grotesk (known as Standard in the US), which was popular in Switzerland in the early 20th century. The ‘Helvetica’ name was given to the typeface in 1960 to make it easier to sell abroad (it was originally named Neue Haas Grotesk). ‘Helvetica’ means ‘Swiss’ in Latin, in homage to its country of origin. Helvetica is meant to be boring—its designers were striving for a neutral and versatile design that lacked personality. Who Created Helvetica? In the mid-1950s, Eduard Hoffmann, the President of the Haas type foundry in Switzerland, was worried. Sales of their sans serif ‘grotesk’ typefaces were falling, and it was clear that the foundry’s classic designs were struggling to compete with their competitors’ offerings, such as the Berthold type foundry’s Akzidenz-Grotesk typeface. Hoffmann spotted an opportunity to create a typeface in the tradition of the emerging International Style of design. He commissioned former Haas salesman and designer, Max Miedinger, to design a new Grotesk typeface. This is my favorite typeface by far! This is Why Canva is a Godsend
Tumblr media
I'm a UX designer. I design websites, presentations, infographics, logos, iPhone and desktop wallpapers, and really anything you can think of. Designing is a part of my daily routine, and I find that I'm never running out of ideas.
Canva is a free, online graphic design platform that allows me to design anywhere, anytime provided there is an internet connection. It has a wide variety of fonts, graphics, photos, videos, and templates exclusive to the platform. (Even The Inscriber's banner and profile image was created with Canva!)
I can design all of the things I need/want without having to worry about storage limits, download settings, viruses, and other inconveniences that come with other graphic design platforms.
In a lot of ways, Canva is a lot like Figma. You can easily create folders and add people to your team. You can also share your designs through a generated link, or invite people to edit them via email. Additionally, if you create a design for a presentation, collage, or anything similar, you can share your design as a template for others to use.
Some people argue that Canva is similar to fast food: too much of it is bad for you. There may be some truth in this statement for people who know how to digitally draw or for people who are too lazy to use their own skills, but I can safely say that even for those people Canva is a useful tool. All kinds of designers of all skill levels can use Canva to produce professional and efficient results. Though, I don't recommend using Canva on its own; the results are always better with an understanding of typography, color theory, hierarchy, behavioral pscycology, and inclusion.
Design is very important and can make your school project, small business, or personal hobby stand out so much more. Good design tells a story. Good design lets the reader know that you've put time and effort into your work -- that you're somebody who can be trusted. With Canva and a little bit of research, you can make that happen without breaking the bank.
