Sometimes, living with the abusive parents can make it risky to love the things you own, or owning things at all. I remember living with the abusive parents, any kind of object I held dear to my heart, had to stay hidden; if my parents knew I was finding this thing valuable and close to my heart, it would lead to it's destruction. And some things you can't hide, we all have our favourite items of clothing that we wear often, we read our favourite books, we collect some stuff that is too big to be hidden, we depend on our electronics, we want to showcase our favourite piece of fandom merch or whatever else makes us happy, in our rooms.
With abusive parents, these things are the first ones to be at risk as soon as there's an issue in controlling you. Abusive parents will destroy your favourite things to hurt and punish you for disobedience. Or, if they find it more effective, they will blackmail you with its destruction. They'll take it from you and keep it hostage, and the only way you can hope to get it back some day, is to not upset them, and hope that they will not destroy it. And then eventually to steal it back, when they forget about it.
The rules to who is allowed to own what in the abusive home generally get muddy as soon as the parent feels they don't have complete control over the child. You can be the only one who uses an object or a tool in the house, the only one who needs and uses your room, your bed, your clothing, your toys and books and furniture, and it's clear that this is intimately yours, belongs to you, is only touched by you. But to them, it doesn't matter. As soon as you need to be controlled, it's theirs, and they have every right to destroy it. Nothing is yours, not unless you obey. Defiance means loss of property.
It sets an anxiety-ridden viewpoint for the future. Having things that you hold dear, or even just owning things you need and plan to use, can be interrupted with the thoughts of 'but what if someone destroys it'. It happened in the past, and it's difficult to see that it won't happen in the future, especially if you've been threatened with destruction of your valuables too often, if you've experienced theft, bullying, and others destroying your things intentionally. It can make you paranoid about your property.
In the abusive home, the rules of who is allowed to use what or destroy what are inconsistent. You could be allowed to use something that is in the house, and you desperately need, until one day you get punished for it, and told you'll be obliterated if you ever touch it again. And then you keep using it in secret, stealing it when nobody is watching, putting it back anxiously, checking it looks all the same. Knowing that there's no other way to gain access to the things you need, frightened of being caught. The parents, meanwhile, can use and also damage anything, including the house, and nobody is allowed to question it or intervene. After all, it's all 'their stuff'. They're adults so if they make a mistake and damage/destroy something, that's okay. You, a child, need to be punished for any accidental damage though. And repent, and pay it back. They might expect you to pay it back in pain.
Forbidding a child, or a teenager, to own things and have right to necessities that are not at constant risk of destruction, is abuse. Things we own should be something we can always rely on, something that is respected and treasured like we are. To smaller children, the things they own feel like an extension of them, it's extremely painful to have them taken away, or destroyed. To a teenager, taking things away or destroying them can cause a world of anxiety and inconsistency, forcing them to live an unreliable life and look elsewhere for something they can depend on. It will cause rage because they can tell it's unfair, they can feel someone is abusing their power over them. Being a teenager and having your control over mere basics, just things they own, taken away is mortifying and infuriating. They're already struggling with the lack of control they have in their social circles, over their social reputation, their own emotions. It feels like destruction and hatred. No person can have their things destroyed and go on normally with their life, as if their human rights weren't violated. We all should get to own things without a worry.

The Supreme Court on Thursday sided with a cement mixing company that seeks to bypass federal labor law and sue a union in state court for the destruction of property caused by striking workers.
The Court said the dispute could continue in state court for now, a move that could chill workers’ decisions to strike for fear that unions would now have to face potentially costly litigation in state court for misconduct during federally protected strikes.
The union argued that the case should be handled by an independent federal agency that investigates allegations of wrongdoing, and that the union should not have to face costly state litigation.
The case had been closely watched by supporters of unions who have witnessed the conservative majority in recent years chip away their power.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett, writing for the majority that included two of the court’s liberal members, said that the Washington state Supreme Court had been too dismissive of arguments made by the business that it should be able to move forward in state court with a claim of intentional destruction of property.
She pointed particularly to the fact striking workers “abandoned fully loaded trucks” of cement “without telling anyone,” a move that could have destroyed the trucks had they not been unloaded in time by non-striking workers at the company, Glacier Northwest.
Barrett said that the “union’s actions not only resulted in the destruction of all the concrete Glacier had prepared that day; they also posed a risk of foreseeable, aggravated, and imminent harm to Glacier’s trucks.”
Because “the union took affirmative steps to endanger Glacier’s property,” rather than “reasonable precautions to mitigate the risk,” the conduct at issue is arguably “not protected by the” National Labor Relations Act, Barrett wrote.
Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Brett Kavanaugh joined Barrett’s opinion.
Noel Francisco, an attorney for the cement company, said he was “pleased” with the court’s ruling. “Our client is entitled to just compensation for its property that the union intentionally destroyed.”
The ruling is a loss for the unions, but the majority maintained a test for future cases that the unions had argued should remain in place.
“Given the implications of the ruling, and the uncertainty it will create for when striking workers can and can’t be sued for damage to their employers (as Justice Jackson stressed in her dissent), it may seem odd that Justices Sotomayor and Kagan joined Justice Barrett’s majority opinion,” said Steve Vladeck, CNN Supreme Court analyst and professor at the University of Texas School of Law.
“But compared to completely revisiting the court’s 1959 decision holding that state law generally doesn’t apply in these circumstances, the fact that Justice Barrett’s analysis rests on the narrow facts of this case – including the workers’ intentional misconduct and lack of effort to mitigate the damage – likely was enough to attract two of the three Democratic appointees, and too narrow for some of her fellow conservatives,” he said.
Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas agreed with the majority’s bottom line but would have gone further in their reasoning.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson filed a dissenting opinion joined by no other Justice, in which she suggested that the majority’s opinion “risks erosion of the right to strike.”
She said that the majority opinion would likely cause “considerable confusion” in the lower courts about what Supreme Court precedent requires, and she charged that her colleagues had failed “in multiple respects to heed Congress’ intent” that the National Labor Relations Board take a primary role in adjudicating labor disputes.
“In my view, doing that places a significant burden on the employees exercise of their statutory right to strike, unjustifiably undermining Congress’s intent,” Jackson wrote. She noted that “workers are not indentured servants, bound to continue laboring until any planned work stoppage would be as painless as possible for their master.”
LABOR DISPUTES AT THE COURT
Conservatives on the Court have diluted the strength of unions in recent years. In 2018, for instance, the Court held that public-sector unions aren’t automatically entitled to dues from non-union members.
Back in 2017, Glacier Northwest, a company that sells and delivers ready-mix concrete, was negotiating with Teamsters Local 174 when the company’s truck drivers went on strike. The workers left behind concrete in trucks, causing non-striking workers and managers to work quickly to remove the concrete so as not to damage the trucks. The trucks were saved, but the concrete went to waste and the company moved to sue in state court for damages that resulted from the strike.
A lower court dismissed the claims, holding that they were preempted by the federal National Labor Relations Act, a law passed in 1935 that established the legal right for workers to join labor unions and enter into collective bargaining. Under the law, labor disputes are resolved by an independent agency called the National Labor Relations Board set up to enforce US labor law.
In the dispute at hand, Glacier argued that the workers’ activity amounted to intentional destruction of property and did not fall under the scope of the NLRA because it doesn’t cover workers who fail to take “reasonable precautions” to prevent the destruction of an employer’s property. They said state courts are proper vehicles to decide tort claims.
The unions, on the other hand, said the workers had acted responsibly as evidenced by the fact that no truck was damaged.
The Biden administration supported neither party in the dispute, arguing that the lower court had erred, and the case should be remanded to the state court for further fact-finding.

31: Fire "We're gonna take control of this dumpster and we're gonna 9/11 it." This is a follow up page after this other one back during mid-inktober:
Did I forget there was an Oct 31st during Inktober? No, I got busy, put the drawing idea off for one day, then all of a sudden it was 2 months later. Here you go.
I think the last panel is unintentionally hilarious. The tungsten dumpster and shitty building codes only exist to set up the massive dropping gut punch on the poor guy.

Square filled: Aliens
Sam Winchester x Dean Winchester x Enna Zyq-To
Warnings: Dark Winchesters, Kryptonite, Drugged, Addiction. Dub Con, Smut, Vandalism, Destruction of Property, Fluff
Summary Sam and Dean become inhibited by a beer laced with red kryptonite while visiting a small town called Smallville. They cause havoc across town, where they run into Enna Zyq-To a Kryptonian. Will she make things better or worse?
Inspired by Remy Zero's Bitter
Just one more day when it’s already been too long. And the sea is forming shackles to deliver. And I came to a resting place
I tried to take just a taste.
Sam's P.O.V
Smallville
I feel a thrill through my veins as Dean and I cause havoc around the town of Smallville. We were supposed to come here to hunt but we don't seem to care now. I down another bottle of this addictive local brew red as we walk down the street. Dean smirks at me as he vandalizes the car next to us. That's when I spotted a woman in a black dress with the most stunning pair of green eyes. Her red hair blew slightly in the wind.
I motion for Dean to follow me.
"Do you want to have a drink and have sex with me? No? What about just sex?" I said.
"We aren't in the bar sir but oddly I am turned on by the pickup line. I'm Enna by the way." Enna replied with a smirk.
"Sam," I said curtly"
Enna looks over to Dean and motions for him to follow us as she pulls me towards her truck. We take her truck down to an empty field.
Seems like this woman likes to be in charge. I smirk as she strips her clothes before stripping both Dean's and my clothes off. Before standing in front of the truck bed. Enna finally removes her clothes and I lick my lips in response.
"Sam in front and emerald eyes in my backdoor," Enna said.
" Bossy, I like it. It's Dean, sweetheart." Dean said with a smirk.
Both of us climbed into the truck bed in our designated positions.
Enna pulled us impossibly closer to her before gripping me tightly as we simultaneously filled her.
Enna stifles her moans by pressing her lips into my neck. Which is a good thing. We wouldn't want anyone to hear us.
The feeling of her clamping around me is otherworldly. Hours have passed, and all of us are covered in sweat and marks. We are beyond sore when Dean and I finally pull out of her. We collapse from exhaustion. I nearly fell out of the truck bed completely forgetting it was open. I laugh at myself. I am not usually this clumsy.
We all quickly redress, and Enna motions for us to join.
“Come, boys, I can think about other ways we can have fun,” Enna said with a smirk
Enna's P.O.V
I've heard of the Winchesters. Heroes in their own right they’ve saved the world multiple times. The descriptions of them don’t do them justice. They are more like gods wrapped in denim and plaid. Lucky me, I've got them when they’ve been corrupted by red kryptonite from local brew
Tumblr media
(Red) I've always had a thing for heroes going dark.  Most would try to find a cure for them but I am far from good. I may be from the same planet as hometown hero Clark Kent but that's all we have in common. Dark edgy, a Kryptonian without a soul. As soon as I park, the Winchesters get out of the truck.
Of their own accord, they loot the local stores. I have a hard time keeping up with them even with my speed. They've gained super speed from the beer. Which is far from normal. Red kryptonite is only supposed to remove morals. Well, it's not my problem I think to myself. Sam comes back with a blue ring. He slips it on my right finger without asking. Seems like someone wants to mark me as their property. I feel something is very wrong as he does so. Dammit, it's blue kryptonite. I can feel my powers ebbing away! The Winchesters leave me there on my knees. Not caring that I am no longer following him. I have no choice but to get back into my truck and go to the town hero for help.
Kent Farmhouse
As I make my way up to the Kent farmhouse, I wonder if I'm doing the right thing. Having morals hasn't been a problem till today. I've lived my life without a rulebook. The Kents hate me. This is the last place I want to be. After, a minor mishap with their son in high school nearly destroyed Clark's future. I got Clark hooked on red kryptonite and he nearly destroyed the town. If it wasn't for Lana and Chloe detoxing him. Clark wouldn't be here today.
I reluctantly knock on the door of the old yellow farmhouse. Just my luck he's the one to answer the door. My anxiety just being here is set through the roof now at just his mere presence. Clark rolls his eyes at me but still lets me in. He knows I wouldn't be here if it wasn't serious.
Briefly explaining how I came to meet the Winchesters and how I found them he looks at me in utter disgust.
" So nearly destroying my life wasn't enough. You are doing it again to the men that have been to hell in the back for this world! I'll help you with one condition. Enna you have to drink a gold kryptonite laced beer." Clark said.
He looks at me harshly with his blue eyes. Clark is deadly serious.
He's silently saying I don't deserve powers and I completely agree with him.
I simply nod in response.
"I've got these chambers that Lex built for me before our friendship dissolved. It sucks out the kryptonite from the bloodstream from the steam it creates. Text those Winchesters and follow me." Clark said.
So glad they exchanged numbers with me before they ran off. I text them in the guise of another threesome. Clark takes my phone from me and finishes my text with the location. He hands it back to me before they text me back. Clark has always been a bit of a prude. He definitively would not want to see what they said back. I smirk at the response to my text. Sam texted me back with a smirk emoji and two eggplants. The Winchesters’ minds sure are in the gutter.
Clark helps me slip off the ring Sam placed on me temporarily restoring my powers. He refuses to do any more of the dirty work.
He climbs into my truck with me and directs me toward the underground chambers. I look around the red-lit chambers. This place gives me the creeps. This idea better work.
Once Sam and Dean arrive they both try to pin me down to the floor. I'm faster of course and use all of my strength to knock them out and throw them into their respective chambers.
Once Sam and Dean arrive they both try to pin me down to the floor. I'm faster of course and manage to use all of my strength to knock them out and throw them into their respective chambers.
Clark uses the control panel to close the door and start the long detox task.
I don't know how much time has passed but a strong hand nudges me awake from my position on the floor.
"Enna wake up dear," Sam said.
Sam tries to help me up but I refuse and get up by myself.
I look around and find Clark gone and a beer with my name on it left in his place.
"I bet you are and Dean want nothing to do with me now. I'll just go." I replied. As I turned to walk away Dean spun me back around.
"Look sweetheart you did the right thing in the end. Sam and I talked before we woke you. We can't deny that we feel this pull towards you and we'd like to give you a second chance." Dean said.
Both of them look at me with hope in their eyes.
"If we are going to do this right. I have to do one thing first." I replied.
I grab the beer Clark left for me. They both stare at me wide-eyed and try to stop me as soon as they realize what I am doing. I know this is for the best. I've caused nothing but destruction with my powers. The gold kryptonite beer tasted horrible on my tongue. I feel my powers ebbing away permanently.
Sam, Dean and I shared sweet kisses before we headed to Dean's impala. It's such a stunning car. I can't wait to see what's next in store for us. First things first though we have to fix the destruction we’ve caused the town before heading back to their place.

"DECLARE VANDERYAGT NOT ACTIVE IN "RIOT"," Toronto Star. July 4, 1933. Page 3. ---- Fellow Convict Admits Helping to Barricade Dome Doors --- Special to The Star Kingston, Ont., July 4. - Evidence that convict Adrian Vanderyagt had not been an active participant in the alleged prison riots of October 1932, was given in court to-day. It is expected Vanderyagt's trial will be concluded to-day. Convict George Robinson quoted Vanderyagt as having said to him, "My time is too valuable to mix in this business; I get out of here in June." Robinson said he had seen the accused several times during the afternoon of Oct. 17 and the latter had not been taking any active part in the demonstration. Witness admitted, under cross examination, that he himself had helped barricade the doors. At the request of J. M. Simpson. counsel for the accused, Judge Madden gave Robinson protection of the court while he was on the witness stand. The prisoners in the shop dome were no more disorderly than an audience filing out of a theatre, Convict Jesse Gibbons told Col. Keiller MacKay, crown prosecutor. "Do you mean to say that the men were talking in an ordinary voice?" asked Col. MacKay. "Yes, I mean just that." Col. MacKay accused J. M. Simpson, defence counsel, of raising some objection whenever one of the defence witnesses appeared to be in "an awkward or embarrassing position." "Never in my life have I been interrupted so much during a trial," protested Col. MacKay. "I insist that my learned friend withdraw that statement," said Mr. Simpson. "He is intimating that I am obstructing the course of justice." Convict William Short said that when he saw Vanderyagt the latter was sitting in a wheelbarrow and paying no attention to what was going on around him.
That the guards in charge of the stone shed were like "a bunch of lost sheep" after the trouble started was the evidence given by Convict George Dixon. Didn't Want to Join Convict Cecil Smith corroborated previous evidence that Vanderyagt did not want to join in the riot be cause he had only eight months of his sentence to serve. Smith admitted. however, that he had advised the accused to assist in barricading the doors in order to avoid incurring the anger of fellow convicts. Vanderyagt assisted in loading one stone banker on to a cart and that ended his participation in the barricading. "You're a king, aren't you?" asked Col. MacKay. "No, but I'd like to be," said Smith. "Aren't you known as a king?" "Yes, I'm known among the convicts and others as king of the bootleggers." "You have been mixed up in a dozen rackets, have you not?" "Sure, bootlegging, rum running, anything at which I could earn an honest dollar." Smith testified that he had pald out hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines before he was committed to the penitentiary. Court then adjourned.

Danny reveals phantom to his parents. They immediately jump ships to support Danny. That is their baby. Why would they think he was lying? Clearly they let confirmation bias cloud their heads. They have non bias research to conduct!
Unfortunately for them. The GIW does not like this change. Clearly the fentons have gone crazy. They must be mad scientist! The GIW of course reports them mainly to get them out of the way. Can’t have people spreading propaganda that ghost Ms are sentient. They can’t have that.
Maddie and Jack don’t come in easily. Instead they flee. Not letting thier kids get hurt. Of course they locked down the portal before they left. All they needed to do was get set up in a new city. Keep the kids safe after all.
Gotham was to obvious. Why wouldn’t they flee to ecto rich environment. Danny would be to obsessed with hunting down Superman in metropolis. Ever since the reveal Danny had been letting his ghostly instincts out more and more. The whole alien thing would cause to much obsession.
Besides. Technically they were wanted by the government. Couldn’t draw attention with Danny stalking the supers. Which whatever. Maddie and Jack would fight them if it came down to it.
They ultimately decided on central city.
There is enough that happens there to keep eyes off them. They absolutely totally could stay low to the ground. They couldn’t hide out with any relatives. Plus if it came to it. They were certain they could at least talk to the flash before anything violent occurred.
Maybe he would even listen.
For now. They would just prioritize Danny’s and jazzs safety.

Love how the Titans are literally walking out of the boom tube, coming back from an emotionally devastating mission, and before the portal is even fully closed Wally's like "Alright, full disclosure I did fully search the bad guy's liar and steal their shit"
Tumblr media
One of their closest childhood friends, whom they all love and trust, is working for the bad guys and told them all that he thinks humanity sucks, and everyone is devastated and Wally's just like "....... I took their rock... I don't know what it is but it looked important...?"
I just... Good god I love this man. Garth has a dramatic villain reveal and Wally just presses pause and walks away to go check out the storage closets to see what he can steal. He's a menace. I love him so much.
