Dante and Vergil x Mage!Elf! Reader headcannons

¤ Dante ¤

-Is enamored by your cute little elf ears and always tries to pinch them. He can't believe they're real--hell, he can't believe elves are real!

-But you are, and you're completely OP, and Dante loves that. The highlight of his day is dragging you off to missions with him and watching as you completely decimate all your foes in a blink of an eye.

-Your calm and apathetic nature is a great and welcome contrast to Dante's goofy, flamboyant self. You serve as his control, in a sense, keeping him from doing ridiculous things when the situation is dire.

-He also loves challenging you to friendly duels so he can test his strength against yours.

-It's very rare for Dante to meet someone who's even close to his level of strength, so you are literally one in a million.

-Despite your clear prowess, Dante is still afraid you'll get hurt or kidnapped like elves on TV tend to do, so he can get a tad bit overprotective when you're not currently engaging in combat.

■ Vergil ■

-Vergil has finally found power. He has found his motivation.

-Vergil doesn't have to worry about anything when you go with him on missions because his strength and your magic is enough to blow up an entire freaking solar system, let alone a group of demons.

-He doesn't want to initiate sparring matches with you, but he won't object if you ask.

-Since both of you are calm, quiet, and apathetic to nearly everything, you're essentially the same personality inhabiting different bodies--and Vergil loves that.

-He's loves the fact that you're an elf, too, cause he's always read books about elves, and now he's dating a real one! So freaking cool!

-He's gonna hold you and protect you till the end of his days--and maybe even write a book about you, too.

Special Welcome Home

Dante is absolutely awestruck for a moment upon seeing you when he enters.

You'd told him you'd have a surprise for him when he got home from this mission but this was not what he was expecting; you standing at the door, nothing on but one of his old coats.

Mans quickly enters the house and closes the door.

He has to take a moment to take in the sight before him, which worries you only a little bit due to his unresponsiveness.

"Babe? You ok?" you ask.

"Oh, I'm more than ok," he responds.

If he has the patience, mans picks you up and carries you away from the living room. If not, which he probably doesn't, he immediately backs you up against a wall or until you fall onto the sofa and cages you in.

"I could get used to coming home seeing you like this," he says, hand running down your side from shoulder to thigh.

"I can't spoil you all the time," you reply.

"You spoil me enough by being in my life," he replies, bringing you in for a kiss.

You smile into the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck and pull him in more to deepen the kiss.

"So what are you going to do now with your little surprise?" you ask, pulling away from the kiss for a second.

"I think I have an idea we will both like"

Vergil is a little grumbly from having to look for hours for his coat before going on a mission with his son, just for him not to find it. It's not until he gets home that he understands why he could never find the old thing.

He finds you laying on the couch reading, his coat covering you like a blanket, upon walking in. He raises an eyebrow, taking in the scene before him while softly shutting the door behind him.

Hearing the click of the door makes you look up at him, a smile spreading across your face.

"Welcome home love," you say.

He doesn't move for a moment before slowly walking over to you. You sit up with a smile on your face as he gets closer, clutching the coat to cover you.

"Have a good day at work?" you ask.

How were you being so calm about this, Vergil wondered? It was like you were comfortable in the fact that underneath his coat you lay bare to the half-demon.

However, maybe that's exactly why you were so calm.

"I'll be honest, I was quite upset going into work today," Vergil finally says.

"Oh? How come?" you ask.

Vergil smirks, leaning down to cage you in between him and the sofa.

"Why don't I show you why?"

V doesn't see you at first. You'd hidden yourself in the small library you'd built for the two of you, giggling to yourself as you heard the male call out for you.

Once he finally makes it up to where you are, he doesn't notice at first that you are covered by just a coat. His coat. One of his few backups.

He begins to walk up to you to give you a kiss when he finally notices. That's not a blanket covering you, that's his coat.

"What's wrong babe?" you ask.

"I realize you are not using a blanket," he replies.

You look down at his coat and smile. "No, I found something much better," you reply.

V slowly approaches, carefully taking in the sight in front of him. He uses his cane to lift your chin, making you look up at him.

"Something tells me I need to remind you about stealing," V says, his voice deepening a little.

"I didn't steal," you reply.

"And now we're lying."

You face flushes, heat spreading from your cheeks down your neck.

"Will you behave?" V asks.

You nod. "Yes, sir."

V smiles. "Don't worry love, you know I'll be gentle."

Quiet night in (Dante x Fem!Reader)

Work had been hectic the last few days; you'd been coming home late and exhausted nearly every day. Dante had noticed your exhaustion--not that you were trying to hide it--and decided that the next time you left for work, he'd spend the entire day cleaning up the house, cooking (to the best of his abilities), and setting things up for a nice quiet night in later.

When you got home that night, you were surprised to see the floors mopped, appliances polished, and food on the table. "Wow..." You mumbled, honestly surprised. You strode into the kitchen, finding two big bowls of macaroni and cheese on the table, as well as a large platter of dinosaur chicken nuggets. You chuckled as you headed towards the sink to wash your hands, astonished as to how you could forget Dante's immaturity so easily.

Childish or not, it was awesome of him to do that for you, you couldn't have been more grateful. You were about to locate and thank him for his generosity, when you suddenly became aware of this strange thumping noise coming from the staircase. You poked your head out of the kitchen and caught sight of something truly bizarre.

Dante, wearing Dr. Faust, was dancing his way down the stairs, a boombox over his shoulder. "Ah, Y/N, you're home!" He announced, tossing the boombox onto the couch and running up to you before scooping you into his arms and twirling yactually. You giggled, throwing your arms around his shoulders and kissing him. "Thanks for making dinner, Dante." He grinned in response, carrying you to the kitchen. "Oh, so you saw? Good. Hope you like chicken nuggies!" You laughed; he nudged the char away from the table with his foot and carefully lowered you into it. "Now...let's eat, then we can watch a movie," He said, plopping into his seat and shoveling a huge spoonful of mac and cheese into his mouth.

After you two had finished eating, Dante picked you up and carried you to the living room, instructing you to pick a movie to watch while he took care of the dishes. You insisted on doing them yourself, but Dante's will was iron; he refused to let you do any work. "You've been working yourself ragged, babe," He called, barely audible over the sounds of clanking dishes and running water. "Take a minute and chill."

And so you did, draping yourself over the couch and scrolling through your favorite streaming service until you found an interesting looking movie. You called Dante, who arrived with two giant bowls of popcorn, one for you and one for him. He slid onto the couch and pulled you into his lap, hooking an arm around you and tugging you close. The warmth was appreciated; calming, even.

Dante had accomplished his mission. You had a relaxing evening, snuggling up with your boyfriend and binge-watching TV all night long.

All the devil boys make you a playlist.

Dante makes one on purpose, finding songs that give off your same vibes and aesthetic. He works on this thing for months (the entire playlist being around 200 songs) and finally shows it to you when he confesses he likes you. You find it sweet he took the time to do this for you, the devil melting into one of your sweet kisses.

Vergil does it subconsciously. He'll listen to his own music but sometimes he hears something that remind him of you. He'll write it down and keep this long list that might spill over onto three other pages making the entire things around 100 songs. He shows you it during a casual conversation, saying he compiled this list and upon listening to it you'll realize he likes you. He doesn't even know it until you run down to give him a kiss.

Nero also does it subconsciously, except after he's 20 songs in he'll realize what he's doing. He tries to hide the growing list from you but with access to his phone, you find it quite easily. Upon asking him about it, he'll go red in the face, scratch at his nose and try to avoid the question. You can only smile and give him a kiss on the cheek before hitting play on the playlist and walking away, all the songs that remind Nero of you filling your headphones.
