Devotional acts? Nah bro, im doing emotional acts.
Crying over how much I love my gf as an emotional act to Aphrodite
Rapid messaging my friends about my many interests as an emotional act to Hermes
Letting myself laugh a little when I’m singing as an emotional act to Apollon

I always imagine Apollo’s temples with open ceilings so the sun may shine on his devotees
There is music being played in the front, some of us are dancing
People are drawing with chalk on the ground with flowers in their hair, laughing and singing
a safe space, where we can bask in his glory

10 Casual Ways to Connect with...
Beelzebub
Tumblr media
Be kind to bugs and other little creatures.
Learn about nature, including its "ugly" or "scary" aspects. And, of course, explore entomology - dipterology (study of flies) especially. It's fun!
Make food, both for yourself and others.
Ask her to bless what you eat.
Go mushrooming (safely and with care for the environment). Take time to appreciate the fungi.
Or simply spend time outside. Touch the soil, especially when it's damp. If you can, take a walk.
Celebrate Halloween - the fun of it can help you be less afraid of thinking about death (which can also open the way for more serious practices).
Visit an insectarium (don't support the unethical ones, of course).
Look for bugs who live with you and learn more about them. Most are completely harmless for humans, and more so, diversity helps to keep the few actually harmful to us in check. Never Home Alone by Rob Dunn is a fun book about your little roommates - and their importance.
Celebrate things labelled as freakish and ugly - including those parts of yourself!

a bit of info on lady fortuna
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
fortuna is the roman goddess of fortune, fate, and luck. she is different from other similar deities because she is essentially blind when dealing out fate and fortune. her being random with fate makes sense because chance isn’t something that could be considered “fair”.
she is often depicted with a blindfold over her eyes to show that fate is blind.
signs and symbols of fortuna: wheel of fortune, cornucopias, ship wheels, wreaths, wheat
offerings to fortuna: water, berries, rosemary, coins, cornucopias, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla incense, and crystals like carnelian, sunstone, and green aventurine
devotional acts associated with fortuna: practicing divination, letting go of that need for control that we all have, meditation, and playing games that are all about chance

I've been really low on spoons lately, so I wanted to share some of my current favorite ways I've been keeping in touch with my gods:
Lighting my deity candles while I work
Devotional Pinterest boards (I really like this one!)
Putting on my perfume dedicated to Freyja
Mentally saying hi when my gods cross my mind

Devotional acts
Tumblr media
There are a plethora of devotional things one can do for their deity, and it varies from person to person, deity to deity. But, here are some that I enjoy.
Learning a language. Learning a new language is a great skill in general, but learning a deity's origin language, like for example, Greek, is a wonderful devotional act. I'm currently learning Greek in devotion to Apollon, and to me, it's a truly beautiful language. Though a little hard at times, haha.
Self care. Deities in general, especially if you're close with them, want you to care for yourself. So, dedicating your face masks, applying lotions or creams/ect, can be a great devotion for them. You can also draw their sigils in your cream or lotion before rubbing it in.
Art. This can vary extremely, because art is subjective to everyone's own perspective. But, some of the ways I like to do devotional art is by making poetry, or painting. Or, you could sing! Dance! Expressing yourself is a form of art in itself. You could dance with them, even. Which brings me to my next point..
Hang out with them. Now, for me, this can be literally anything you enjoy to do. Deities, from what I've experienced, enjoy the mundane as much as the celebratory moments. They want to spend time with you. They want to be around you. You could rant for hours, or sit in a peaceful silence. Do a hobby with them, invite them to eat a meal with you. I like to listen to music with my deities when I'm low on energy, or have a playlist I made for them play in the background while I do something else. It's a gentle reminder of their presence if I'm doing shuffle-mancy.
Meditate. Personally, I hated meditation when I first started. I was scared, even. Because I thought I'd fail terribly. But, with all its cliches, with enough time put in, I've gradually progressed to where I am now, and where I'll go in the future years. Meditation, with your deities in my experience, is one of my favorite ways to connect with them, besides astral projection. Connecting with Apollon's energy for example is and was one of the best things I've ever experienced. Feeling a deity's love, a deity's protection and care, is something I can't explain with words that make sense, lol.
E-Altars I started out with digital altars, and they're a great devotional act, in my opinion. Putting in aesthetics that remind you of them, their statues, quotes that remind you of them or your relationship with them, and so on, is another one of my favorites. Especially if I'm on the go. It also can help with remembering what they represent or what represents them. Like animals, colors, planets, ect.
The most important parts in my opinion is simply the intention, the effort, the heart, and purely just creativity. Devotional acts can be anything and everything, it's supposed to be personal, it's supposed to be unique. Don't be afraid to be yourself, or give what you can. Deities appreciate the work, they appreciate you. As long as you are being respectful, not harming anybody including yourself, you are doing fine.

I hope that this weekend you light a candle and share a delicious plate of spaghetti and meatballs with someone you’re attracted to. It’s what Aphrodite wants.

Devotional Acts to Loki that I don’t see around much:
Wearing mismatched socks
Rearranging your altar (or room/space) sporadically
Taking note every time you see a pride flag— especially if you live in a more conservative area
Deleting photos of things you don’t need memories of
Learning how to hold a snake
Visiting a graveyard and remembering Hel
Taking note of wolf-like dogs you see
Giving attention to a horse
Drinking a cup of very hot tea
Taking (or making) a small dare or bet
Having a bonfire with friends
Attempting the Hot Chip challenge
Visiting a circus
Making gingerbread men— or just cookies in general
Making a dirty joke (although why stop at one? 👀)
Doing something fun for yourself, and only yourself
Eat breakfast for dinner or lunch for breakfast or— you get it
Playing pranks
Pinpointing when someone is lying and not allowing their words to affect you
Shadow Work Shadow Work Shadow Work Sh—

And you act as if She, the goddess of love, wasn’t born from spilt blood.
You act as if She, the friend of flowers, can’t uproot your life
You act as if She, the one who lasts even after death, can’t call the hellhounds to Her side
You act as if She, the warlike, were unarmed
You act like She, the she-wolf, won’t tear your flesh with sharp teeth
You act like Aphrodite is always light and peace,
But tell me when love has never not caused pain,
Be it from ending or from holding it in, overflowing your lungs

Hi! Your blog is a very cosy place, I really like it! It feels like light and tastes like cotton candy.
I have a question. Do you know any tips for contacting your personal guardian angel? Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance!
I'm so flattered for you to describe my blog like that, thank you so much. It really made my day
So sorry to keep you waiting, as I've been away from the blog for a while 👼
I don't have exact tips for contacting your personal guardian angel as I don't actually work with my personal one! I acknowledge that they are watching over me and trust their work, though.
I do want to offer something! So here's this:
CONNECTING WITH YOUR PERSONAL GUARDIAN ANGEL
🌟 Express your gratitude for their presence (in the same vein as acknowledging their part in your life). Recognising the angels in your life can help them connect with you and show more prominence in your life. They wait for our invitation as we have free will!
🌟 If you want to do a little something for them, light a candle and dedicate it to your personal guardian angel. It can be a tealight or something bigger. You could always get a large candle and light it at a frequency that works for you (nightly, weekly, monthly).
🌟 Expanding on the previous idea, you could make a bit of a ritual out of it. Light a candle, dedicate some incense, and say a prayer to thank them for watching over you.
🌟 Research about guardian angels! It tends to be a great devotional act or a way to connect with the angels. There are different interpretations of what guardian angels are in our lives. For example, some believe each has their own name. I consider this very likely though don't endeavour to try and figure it out
🌟 Decorate your space with angelic imagery or objects. This is a general tip for letting angels know your space is safe for them and that you would like them in your space and life
Please feel free to submit another ask if you want me to elaborate or if you have anymore questions!
