Disclaimer: I mention Leighton eating Deli meat, which is technically a pregnancy no no. You'll see later, it gets touched on, just wanted to beat you guys to the comments.

I am aware you're not supposed to consume deli meat when pregnant, but that doesn't mean Leighton is. She does find out though, and I touch on why it is something you're supposed to avoid.

*Leighton's POV*

It was a couple days before my birthday trip back home, when I got the devastating message that my brother couldn't make the trip, due to being drafted.

The thought of my brother going BACK into the Army terrified me.

Logan was my best friend, and I didn't want him to go back, but I knew it was something he loved. He loved fighting for our country, and who was I to stop him?

As much as it scared me, I was extremely proud of him.

Late at night I would think about all the things that could go wrong, or him missing out on my pregnancy, or even the birth of my baby and get upset, but I had to remind myself that he truly loved this, and that my fears can't hold him back.

Today was exciting though, because I was going to meet their new puppy.

Cynthia refused to send me pictures till I came over, which I thought was stupid, but I guess it worked.

I somehow managed to con Colby into coming with me, and I made him drive so maybe it was a win, win situation.

Colby was bored alone at the house, asked where I was going and the second I said "to meet a puppy" he was putting his shoes on.

When we arrived at my brother and sister in law's house, I could hardly contain my excitement.

I knocked on the front door, resisting the urge to burst through the door, impatiently waiting for them to answer.

Cynthia opened the front door, and my eyes immediately landed on the puppy.

"Oh my god she's so small!" I squealed, watching Logan play tug of war with the puppy.

"Leighton, this is Nova" Logan grinned at me, knowing how excited I was.

"OH MY GOD!" I yelled. "Colby, can we get one?" I begged, snatching the tug rope to play with her.

"Maybe in the new house" He chuckled, sitting down on the floor next to me.

That was another thing sprung onto me the past few days.

The day after my date with Silas, I walked down the stairs and Sam and Colby sat me down, and told me they decided they were going to move, and that I needed to figure out if I was staying or coming with them.

Apparently they found a big house somewhere and were moving in July. Some of their old roommates were moving back in which made me nervous.

I was nervous to have a repeat situation like I have had with Colby.

I was also nervous that I would no longer be able to afford rent, but they said nothing would change since more people were moving in, but I was pretty sure they were just saying that since I was already struggling to pay rent as it was...

I also wasn't expecting him to actually say we could possibly get a puppy. I knew their old roommates had dogs, but I never in a million years would've thought they'd want to get one on their own.

"I can't believe my big bro got a puppy!" I pouted, watching Nova run around and bark at Logan for ignoring her.

"She's already a bossy girl! We love to see it, don't we Nova" I cooed and Logan rolled his eyes.

"My life is filled with bossy girls" He teased and I smirked at him, knowing it was true.

"You know, my last quiet moment was when I was 4. Right before Leighton was born. Ever since then, I haven't had peace and quiet for longer than 5 minutes" Logan told Colby who laughed, throwing a ball for Nova.

"I just made your life more interesting" I grinned, turning the conversation back around so it was beneficial on my part.

"You definitely are good at making people's lives more interesting.'' Colby mumbled to himself and I didn't know how to take that, so I just moved on.

"I can't wait to puppysit! Ahh I'm so excited!!" I squealed, feeling dopamine rush through my veins.

"Good, you can help me watch this little monster whilst Logan is gone" Cynthia laughed and I frowned, forgetting that part.

"Where is he going?" Colby asked, unaware.

"I used to do some time with the army when I was back in my early 20s, late teens, and I was called to be drafted a while back. So I get to go in and get my mental and psychical health examined and such over Leightons birthday" He informed Colby, myself still pouting like a child who didn't get her way.

I personally thought it was unfair that the universe was stealing my big brother over my birthday.

"Damn dude. Is this an I'm sorry situation or congratulations situation?" Colby asked and Logan chuckled.

"It's an I'm sorry to Leigh, and congrats to me. I loved serving the country and working for the military. Thankfully I haven't become an army jerk or anything. I try really hard to leave work at work and not let it mess with my personal life emotionally. Leighton was uh, pretty devastated finding out, and I don't think she'll forgive me for it being over her birthday" Logan looked over at me, raising an eyebrow.

"I don't mean to be a party pooper! It just fucking sucks! Can we stop talking about it? I don't want to cry right now" I sighed, focusing back on the puppy in front of me.

"I wish Nova could meet Ginger's dogs. Did you hear Melissa got a rescue Rotty?" Logan asked and I shoved Colby over for trying to steal Nova from me.

"She did? Is she still dating Lincoln?" I questioned, forgetting Colby didn't understand any of our gossip.

Logan nodded, rolling Nova onto her back as he carefully rough housed with the new puppy.

"Who's Melissa?" Colby asked, leaning back on the palms of his hands.

"She's Casey's sister. My Aunt Ginger's daughter" I told him, turning back to Logan.

"Casey is going to show Sam and Colby around Waverly next year" I told Logan, knowing he has been before.

"She said you had to come with us!" Colby chimed in and I glared at him, wanting to forget that detail.

"That's right! You guys do the haunted exploration videos!" Logan's eyes widened in realization. "Casey loves that place. Can barely tear her away from it. You should have fun there, especially with her as your tour guide. I'm assuming because you're now a family friend, you'll get the special treatment. Also, good luck if you have to bring Leigh. She thinks the haunted is bullshit and she gets freaked out easily" Logan smirked at Colby, who looked confused.

I shrugged, grabbing a squeaky toy, wanting the puppy's attention back from Logan.

"What do you mean special treatment?" He asked.

"I went to visit Casey a couple years ago, and got her tour. She has some special spots she only lets certain people go. I'd be surprised if she didn't bring you guys" Logan told Colby and I swear I saw Colby's eyes light up like a child on Christmas morning.

I could practically hear his inner thoughts right now.

Logan and Colby talked for a while about the tour and Logan's experiences, myself tuning them out whilst I played with the puppy.

"You know Colby, there is a plane ticket now" My brother spoke up, startling me.

Huh?

"To what?" Colby asked, just as confused as I was.

"The trip home with Leighton" Logan said so nonchalantly, acting like he didn't know what he was doing.

"I don't want to intrude on her family time. Aren't you going for your birthday?" Colby asked and I nodded, pretending not to give a single care about their conversation, when I in fact was intently listening "Why don't you ask Aaliyah?" He asked and I sighed. "Aaliyah is going to some family thing with River"

"Have you been to Minnesota before?" Logan asked and Colby nodded, typing on his phone before turning it back off and setting it down in front of him.

"We went on tour, and we went somewhere with our old friends. But I've never like, chilled there. We were always there for like 12 hours and left" He explained and Logan smirked again.

I could tell he was plotting. The shit eating grinning giving away his master plans.

"Leigh, you should totally bring him! It would be fun, plus our family loves when we bring new people home" Logan gave me a knowing look, and if looks could kill, he'd be lucky to even make it to his exam.

The last person any of us brought home was Cynthia, and I swear she's never wanted to run faster.

"We both know they're going to ask if we are dating" I raised an eyebrow, not wanting to constantly be asked if Colby was my boyfriend.

I got enough teasing from Colby's friends already, I didn't need it from my family too.

"Just say he's a stray you found on the street. They love rescues" Logan joked and Colby snickered.

"Ha ha, you're hilarious!" I grumbled. "How is that going to look? I bring a guy to my home state where a shit load of my family is? Even if I say we aren't dating, they'll think I'm lying" I grumbled, petting Nova's ears.

"Then let them" Logan shrugged like it was no big deal. "If you're really concerned about it, I'd put more money on them being focused on the fact that you're pregnant, than you bringing a boy home." Logan gave me an "I told you so" look and I threw a dog toy at his head. "Hey! You know it's true!"

"Sam is leaving with Kat for Hawaii on the ninth. Their anniversary is the 11th of June. I should stay back and keep watch of the house" Colby informed, probably feeling extremely awkward.

"Colby, if you really want to come, you can come. I don't want you to be disappointed that you're alone" I gave in and he gave me a weird look.

"I never said I wanted to go?"

Before I could say anything, Cynthia told us lunch was ready.

It was nice to hang out with my brother and his wife, even if Logan kept trying to have me kidnap Colby across the country.

I honestly wasn't even sure why Logan wanted me to drag Colby back home.

That evening I had gotten home and was texting Silas, talking about how each other's days were going, when Colby walked into the kitchen from the laundry room, surprising me with his question. "Do you really care if I come with you?"

"To where? Minnesota?" I asked and he nodded. "Why would you want to go? I'm visiting family" I was very confused as to why he was considering it. He's never taken interest in hanging out before, so why would he want to go on a week trip with me across the country to hang out with my family? Wouldn't he feel awkward?

"Your brother talked me into it. It seems fun, plus if your relatives are anything like you, it should be a blast" He complimented, surprising me even more.

"You think I'm fun?" I asked, feeling extremely confused at his sudden mood change towards me.

Didn't he hate my guts like last week or something?

"Leighton, you're not that bad. I'm working on letting go of the grudge of you lying to me. I talked out my issues with Sam, we really should just move on. Let that truce take effect. You know, even when you're bitchy, you're still fun. I'm sorry pregnancy has been hard on you lately, but I'm glad you are still trying to make an effort with us" He said and I cocked my eyebrow. Even when I'm bitchy? "Plus, we keep saying we need to hang out more, so what better time to hang out, than going to see your family? You could show me your favorite spots?" He suggested and I smiled softly.

"You want to meet my family?" I asked and he nodded, placing his hands on the countertop.

"I love adventures, and it sounds like a lot more fun than hanging out in my room whilst everyone is gone" He shrugged.

"No one's wanted to do that before" I whispered to myself, feeling a strange emotion wash over my nervous system.

"Hm?" He hummed and I sighed, not intending him to hear that.

"No one's ever wanted to hang out with my family and I. Gabe was always focused on his friend Chase, and his mom. He was more focused on himself, then anything with me. I think that's 'cause he didn't want to be around me when I was high" I shrugged, feeling slightly guilty.

"That's dumb" Colby said bluntly, opening the freezer. "Do you want pizza?" He asked and I shook my head. "I'll vomit. You know what sounds good?" I asked and he hummed in response.

"Ham, cream cheese and pickles" I said and he turned around quickly, his face contorting to a look of disgust. "What?" I asked and he shook his head at me, telling me no. "Please?" I asked and he sighed, shutting the freezer.

"We don't have pickles or cream cheese. Why is pickles a pregnant person's favorite thing?" Colby asked, making me laugh.

"It's not because I'm pregnant weirdo! I loved that before I was pregnant! It's a common snack! My parents used to make it all the time! Please can we go to the store and will you try it?" I asked and after a couple minutes, he caved in and we drove to the grocery store.

"Please try it!" I begged, handing him a plate with a small piece of Ham, cream cheese and a small dill pickle.

"That looks disgusting. I honestly might throw up" He shook his head and I rolled my eyes.

"Please?" I asked again and he sighed, contemplating it.

"I really hate pickles. I don't think this will be good" He said and I smiled when I watched him pick it up, inspecting it a little bit.

He popped it into his mouth, chewing slowly as his face contorted and he spit it out into his hand, throwing it away.

"That was nasty!" He gagged, reaching for his bottle of water.

"You're being dramatic!" I declared, eating the snack with no problem.

"If you liked pickles, I can see why you'd like it, but I hate them. You can have those" Colby said, snatching a piece of ham out of the container.

"Finally, a snack you won't steal!" I teased, and he shook his head, walking away.

I was texting Silas when I heard the alarm say "front door opened" letting us know someone was home.

I heard Sam ask Colby if the washer was empty, and I tuned out their conversation, making more of my snack.

I was just about to head upstairs with my plate of food when I heard Colby ask Sam "Do you think it's weird if I go on the trip with Leighton back to Minnesota?" making my ears perk up, stopping me in my tracks.

"What do you mean?" He asked and I could hear Colby sigh.

I sat down on the stairs, eating my ham wrapped pickles as I eavesdropped.

Colby explained the situation to Sam, and I held my breath as I waited for Sam's reply.

"Why would you want to go with her to see her family?" Sam asked and I sighed, feeling like we were going in circles.

"It seems like it would be fun. I love meeting new people, exploring new places, and Leighton's immediate family is fun. It seems more fun than hanging around the house whilst you're in my favorite place on earth" I heard Colby explain and Sam laughed.

"Sorry man, I didn't think Kat would like it if I brought you with us on our anniversary" Sam joked. "How does Leighton feel about you going with?" I heard Sam ask but I didn't hear Colby reply.

"Maybe make sure she actually is fine with you going. It is a little weird to be honest, but I could see how it could be fun" I heard Sam reply, so I figured Colby either spoke with his body language or replied softly.

I walked up to my bedroom and was eating my snack when something dawned on me.

I quickly googled "Food pregnant women can't eat" hoping to God I didn't just fuck up.

I clicked the first article, my eyes scanning the list.

Oh shit

I then typed in google "Why can't pregnant women eat deli meat" and I felt my heart race as I read the reply.

"Cured/fermented meats like Parma ham and salami are uncooked and could contain parasites that may cause toxoplasmosis, leading to miscarriage, stillbirth or birth defects. If you want to eat these foods, check on the label to see if they need to be cooked."

Miscarriage? Stillbirth? Birth defects?

I felt myself start to cry as I shoved the plate away, Gabe's words echoing in my head.

You're going to kill our baby.

I quickly typed into google "What happens if you accidently eat ham whilst pregnant" but my vision was too blurred to read the screen, causing me to chuck my phone across the room, hearing it clatter to the floor.

FUCK!

I heard a knock at my door and I sighed, wiping at my eyes to answer it.

"Hey Leigh, can we tal- what's wrong?" Colby asked and I shook my head, grabbing my plate and pushing past him. I walked downstairs, throwing the food away. "Hey, what happened?" Colby asked, and I turned my back to him.

I was pretty confident mascara was running down my face right now, and I didn't really want him to see that.

"Leighton, what's wrong?" He asked again and I shook my head, walking back upstairs with my head down.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I yelled

"Leigh!" He yelled back and I could hear his loud footsteps climbing the flight of stairs.

Before I could shut my bedroom door, Colby was standing in the doorway and I just fell to the floor, sobbing.

"What's wrong? Are you hurt?" He asked quickly and I shook my head, covering my face in my hands.

"Do you need to go to the hospital?" He asked and I shrugged, which didn't help.

"Can you please tell me what's wrong?" He spoke in pure panic, and I took a deep breath, trying to control my breathing so I could talk.

"Can you hand me my phone please?" I asked, wiping at my nose and he nodded, picking it up off the floor.

I read the google answer for what happens when you accidently eat ham,

"You don't need to panic if you are pregnant and have been eating deli meats. The probabilities are in your favor that nothing has happened. When it comes to deli meats it is important you know that the likelihood of being exposed to Listeria is low."

I took a deep breath and turned off my phone, glancing up towards Colby who looked concerned.

"I'm okay" I whispered and he sat down in front of me.

Colby's face was full of concern when he asked what happened and I sighed, rubbing some of the dark makeup off of my under eyes as I explained, and before I knew it, I was being pulled into a hug.

"Do you want to go to the hospital?" He asked and I shook my head, pulling away from the hug.

"Being pregnant sucks. You crave all these things you can't eat" I frowned, hating that the fucking ham and pickle things still sound good.

"I'm sorry Leigh, is there anything else you want? We could go get that instead?" he suggested but I shook my head, thanking him for his offer.

It was quiet for a moment, and the next words to leave my mouth surprised us both.

"You can come on the trip" I spoke softly, brushing my hair out of my face.

"Do you really want me to? I can stay here and watch the house?" He asked and I shook my head.

"No, it will be fun. My family will love you" I smiled softly, feeling slight butterflies in my stomach at the idea of bringing him home.

Gabe only came home with me twice in our four years of being together, so the concept of Colby wanting to come, even when we were just friends, made me feel extremely nervous yet excited.

The whole way to the airport was stressful, but I've never felt happier than when the airplane landed.

"Are you ready to explore my home turf Colby?!" I asked as we stepped off the airplane.

"It's going to be fun Colby" Cynthia matched my excitement as we headed towards baggage claim.

"It's honestly quite weird to be traveling without Sam" Colby confessed, following us to get our bags.

"I bet. You guys are always attached at the hip" I teased and he rolled his eyes, knowing it was true but not wanting to admit it.

"I can't wait to see my babies!" I squealed, grabbing my suitcase and pulling the bar up, so it would drag behind me.

"Um, Leigh, we don't want to meet your baby yet" Cynthia said and I glared at her.

"I MEANT MY ROTTIES! I've missed them so much!" I spoke in a high pitch tone, pure joy written all over my face.

"I wish we could've brought Nova" Cynthia sighed and I nodded, wishing we could've brought the puppy to meet the other rottweilers.

"She would've had fun. She's at basic training though, so I'm sure she's having a blast!" I reassured her.

"LEIGHTON! YOU LOOK STUNNING HONEY!" My aunt grinned, pulling me into a hug. "Your bump is so cute! I can't believe you're pregnant!"

"Thank you! Colby, this is my Aunt Ginger, Aunt Ginger, this is my roommate Colby" I introduced.

"I'm glad to have you here Colby! A little birdie told me that you've never explored the real side of Minnesota!" She grinned at me.

"I'm so excited! Ah it feels good to be home!" I expressed and Colby smiled at us.

We drove about half an hour from Minneapolis to Prior Lake, and once we pulled up the driveway you could just feel the energy in the car of how excited everyone was to not only be together, but to be here.

I could feel it in my soul that this was going to be a good trip.

I hopped out of the car and we were straight away met with a very excited dog.

"Dakota!" I cheered, opening my arms up for the excited pup.

"Colby, this is my sweet girl Dakota! She's still quite young. She's about two or three years old. My precious little baby. Say "I look so big, bad, and tough, but I'm just a sweet little baby" I spoke in a baby voice, kissing the side of the dog's head.

"Hey puppy" Colby stroked the top of the dog's head, smiling at how cute she looked.

"Leigh, bring your stuff in. Captains waiting for you on the porch" Aunt Ginger told me and I looked up to see the very intense looking rottweiler lounging on the porch.

"You look nervous Colby" I laughed and he rolled his eyes.

"I'm not nervous" He argued and I shook my head smiling.

"Of course not" I teased.

Captain started barking really loud and I saw Colby jump, making me cackle.

You're totally not nervous!" I mocked. "They won't bite. They're the biggest babies ever, isn't that right Captain" I cooed, kissing the top of the other dog's head.

"There are my kids!" A males voice called out and I could feel my grin getting bigger, running off towards a room around the corner.

"We brought home a guest!" I told my uncle, excited to have them meet.

It was honestly so much fun bringing someone home.

It never felt like this with Gabe, but then again, Gabe was never excited to come.

"Colby, this is my Uncle Garret, Uncle Garret, this is Colby, my roommate. Colby, this is Casey's parents. Colby and Sam are going to meet up with Casey next year to tour Waverly" I told him, but before he could reply, I heard more pitter patter hitting the floor making my face light up. "Oh my god BENTLEY!" I yelled, a third rottweiler running inside from the backyard.

"What, do you guys run a rottweiler farm?" Colby joked and Uncle Garret chuckled.

"Bentley is my daughter's dog" He informed Colby and I nodded, greeting my cousin's new dog.

When Logan had told me Melissa had gotten a new dog, I texted her immediately asking for photos, so I was extremely excited to finally meet him.

"I swear there are no more rottweilers coming into our house!" Aunt Ginger reassured him, making all of us laugh.

My aunt showed Colby around the house as Cynthia took our stuff to our rooms, myself too focused on the puppies to care.

"I can't believe my baby girl is pregnant" Uncle Garret spoke in a dramatic tone making me roll my eyes.

Uncle Garret was like a second father to me. When I was kicked out, I had the option to come home and live with them, but I couldn't afford it, which was why I went to Gabriel's grandfather's house.

Uncle Garret and Aunt Ginger were always there for me, no matter what, and there was no way in hell I could ever repay them. I'd be in debt to my dad's sister's family till the day I died.

"Is it Gabe's or is it that boy's baby?" He asked and I glared.

"What kind of question is that?" I asked and he gave me a knowing look.

"A valid one"

I scoffed, shaking my head at the thought of him thinking I'd get pregnant by some random guy I barely knew.

"Colby is my roommate, and he was going to be home alone so Logan said he should tag along since we already bought the ticket. The baby is Gabriel's, not Colby. Before you even ask the dating question, Colby and I are just friends" I spoke clearly, trying to nip it in the bud before he could get another word out, questioning why I brought a boy home.

"Colby, what are you doing?" I laughed, walking into the living room where I saw Colby taking photos of the dogs looking out the window.

"I want a sick photo!" He defended himself, getting up and showing me the photo he had just taken.

"I'm kidnapping them back to LA. My sweet boy Mr. Captain is the real reason I came home" I kissed the top of his head, messing with his ears.

"You seem really happy Leigh" Colby noted and I nodded, a small smile finding it's way upon my face.

"I miss home all the time. I never wanted to move to California, but I was twelve so I didn't get a say. I have a lot of good memories here. I come back at least once a year, my parents usually buy my plane ticket and I come visit. LA isn't my home" I shrugged, snuggling against Captain.

"Why don't you move back?" He asked and I sighed, laying down on the floor next to the couch.

"It's not that easy. I would if I could, but with my mom having cancer and recently having brain surgery, I want to be close to her. Last thing I want is my mom to die and I'm across the country"

"You can't let her hold you back Leighton" Colby spoke with determination and I shook my head.

"She's not holding me back. I love my family, I'm just happier somewhere else. Why are you pushing me to move home? If I moved home, we would've never met" I pushed myself up off the floor, moving to a sitting position.

"That's true. It's still weird to see you pregnant. Like to see you flaunt your bump" He stared at my stomach and I laughed.

"How am I flaunting it? It's not even that big. Would you like me to grab a hoodie?" I asked and he shook his head, informing me he didn't mean anything bad by his wording. "I brought the doppler Sam bought me, if you want to listen to the heartbeat? I knew my aunt would, so I thought it would be a good idea to bring it" I told him and before he could reply, Dakota and Bentley were barking out the window making me sigh.

"Get your grubby fingers out of my cheese before I cut them off!" Uncle Garret smacked my fingers out of his freshly grated cheese, making me frown.

"How dare you deny a pregnant woman food!" I shouted, stealing some cheese and shoving it into my face.

"We're making you food!" He fought back and I pouted.

"Children knock it off! Are you guys working as a team or on your own for who can make the best pizza?" My aunt asked and I looked at Melissa, Cynthia, and Colby.

"As long as you're down to make me tacos, I'm fine with whatever"

"Let's work in teams and do a competition that way" Melissa suggested and everyone nodded in agreement.

Cynthia and Melissa were on a team, Colby and I were on a team and my Uncle was prepping the food for the pizza's whilst my aunt made my tacos.

I grabbed a bowl and whilst I was reading the instructions, I heard the sound system turn on.

I recognized the beat and found myself laughing.

The second the lyrics starter, I knew Colby was in for a long night.

"LOOK BABYGIRL YOU'RE SO DAMN FINE THOUGH!" Melissa and I yelled, surprising Colby.

"I'm tryna know if I could hit it from behind though" Melissa yelled, pointing at Colby's ass and I laughed really hard and I was surprised I didn't pee myself.

Colby turned around, looking extremely confused at the fake we all brought out into a shouting singing mess. "What the hell is happening?" Colby laughed, looking around.

"I'M SIPPING ON YOU LIKE SOME FINE WINE THOUGH AND WHEN IT'S OVER, I PRESS REWIND THOUGH!" Cynthia joined and Aunt Ginger shook her head, knowing there was no stopping us.

"Can I record this?" Colby asked, laughing and I nodded, laughing as Melissa grabbed flour and did the meme salt move into the bowl.

"BADDEST BITCH WITH DA FLOUR!" She declared, sprinkling it into the bowl.

"I'M LIKE YEAH SHE'S FINE WONDER WHEN SHE'LL BE MINE! SHE WALK PAST, I PRESS REWIND!" We all yelled and I watched Colby film us, Melissa and I dancing to the song.

Melissa did a bad attempt at a moon walk when the lyrics said "press rewind" making Colby laugh. "TO SEE THAT ASS ONE MORE TIME!" Melissa shook her ass and I cackled loudly, glad Uncle Garret had left the room to go fetch something for my aunt.

"ALL FAST MONEY NO SLOW BUCKS!" Uncle Garret yelled, coming back into the room to continue grating cheese like a mad man.

"How haven't you peed your pants yet?" Cynthia asked and I shrugged, not sure why my laughing hasn't made my bladder combust.

We all sang along, adding our ingredients into a bowl and I saw my Aunt Ginger dancing to the song with Captain, Captain looking extremely confused.

When the song ended, Colby asked what the hell just happened, making us all laugh.

"My Uncle Garret loves Fetty Wap. Even though it's inappropriate, we grew up with it" I told him, catching Dakota jumping on Melissa's back as she danced with her mom.

"We had dance parties all the time whilst cooking. When Cynthia experienced her first dance party with the Fox's, she was ready to go back to California" I joked, reminiscing on that time Logan had brought her home.

"The dynamic between your parents and your relatives is like night and day" He noted and my relatives agreed

"The main difference is my dad doesn't like us kids cursing, but he's just as weird as the rest of them!" I smiled, shaking my head as I reminisced on my childhood.

Colby was helping me combine the ingredients to make the pizza dough when I heard the next song load up. "HANDS, TOUCHING HANDS, REACHING OUT, TOUCHING ME, TOUCHING YOU!" We all yelled, holding our hands out to each other.

"SWEET CAROLINE BOM BOM BOM! GOOD TIMES NEVER SEEMED SO GOOD, SO GOOD, SO GOOD!" We yelled, throwing our hands up in the air, flour going everywhere.

"Colby, take the next verse!" I yelled and he looked startled, watching the outburst in front of him.

Was this not normal for him?

I thought he was the partier?

Cynthia ended up taking the next line, because Colby wasn't paying attention and Melissa and I were focusing on our bowl.

"Say hi to Logan" Cynthia said, showing she was recording.

We all said hello and I heard Uncle Garret say "Miss you boy!" before the video ended.

By the time we were moving on to the pasta sauce, Colby and Melissa were yelling "I WAS LIKE GOOD GRACIOUS ASS IS BODACIOUS UH FLIRTATIOUS TRYING TO SHOW FACES!" Making all of us laugh as they danced together.

I loved seeing him start to interact with my family. When we first arrived he seemed very, kept to himself? Nervous? But the more we all started interacting with each other, and having fun, I could see Colby start to joke around more.

I caught myself frequently comparing Colby to Gabriel. The difference between the two was night and day.

"IT'S GETTING HOT IN HERE, SO TAKE OFF ALL YOUR CLOTHES!" Melissa yelled as the oven beeped and I don't think I've laughed so hard as I have tonight.

I ended up running to the bathroom, not knowing Colby was filming on his phone as Aunt Ginger, which meant he caught me in the background sprinting like a mad man.

When I came back from the bathroom, Cynthia and Melissa were yelling "CHECKING YOUR REFLECTION AND TELLING YOUR BEST FRIEND LIKE GIRL I THINK MY BUTT GETTIN BIG" and yet again, pointed at Colby who oddly enough owned it and shook his ass at them before laughing as they screamed out in excitement.

"Do I have a fat ass or something?" Colby asked with a chuckle and before I knew it, he was shaking his ass at them and I don't think I've ever heard my family scream so loud.

Melissa was "making it rain" with invisible money as Colby did some weird twerking movement.

"Melissa and Colby are a handful together" Aunt Ginger chuckled.

"You guys would be a nightmare at the club" Cynthia added and I nodded, agreeing with them.

"You're all acting as if your parents aren't even right here" I laughed, motioning towards my aunt and uncle.

"This is nothing like when dad was drunk a few summers ago over the fourth of July!" Melissa laughed and I watched Colby walk over to my uncle and he asked "Can I be adopted?" and I heard my uncle laugh. "You're welcome anytime!" Uncle Garret reassured Colby and before I knew it, Melissa changed the song when Cynthia and I were checking the pizza dough.

Colby kept filming random things or taking photos halfway through making the pizza dough, claiming "I got to capture some memories!" When I think It was just him trying to get out of helping.

I watched Colby take a photo of Melissa sticking her tongue out next to the pizza sauce she was dripping on the dough.

When we started putting our pizza toppings on, I let Colby make the pizza however he wanted since I was having tacos.

"You're such a basic bitch? Just a pepperoni pizza?" I asked and he showed offense.

"What do you mean JUST pepperoni pizza? You're a pineapple on pizza person aren't you?" He asked and my lips formed a thin line, trying not to show.

Colby gagged and my jaw dropped.

"What?" I asked and he shook his head in disbelief.

"First pickles, now pineapples? You're not welcomed in the new house"

I gasped and smacked his arm.

"You know how we fucked up?" Cynthia asked, turning our attention towards her.

"Hm?"

"We didn't make stuffed crust! We literally made homemade pizza, and NONE of us made stuffed crust!" Cynthia motioned to the pizza's and we all gasped, including my Aunt.

"Is it too late?" Aunt Ginger asked, looking around desperately.

"To make it a stuffed crust? Don't we just need to line the crust with cheese and then fold it?" I asked, reaching for the grated cheese.

"We can try" Colby said, taking some cheese.

Colby and I worked on trying to make it a stuffed crust, bonding over how good stuffed crust is and how stupid is it that pizza places don't give you the option to do it.

"Colby if you don't know this song, I'm buying you a one way back to Cali" Melissa threatened as the song started and I bit my tongue so I didn't blurt out the lyrics, watching fear rise on Colby's facial features.

"I don't know!" He confessed and Melissa gasped.

"I'M LIKE FUCK YOU AND FUCK HER TOO, SAID IF I WAS RICHER I'D STILL BE WITH YA!" I yelled and danced with Melissa, surprising Colby, once again.

"Ha, now ain't that some shit? And although there's a pain in my chest, I still wish you the best with a fuck you!" Melissa sang with passion, using a wooden spoon as a fake microphone.

We were spreading pizza sauce on our dough when I watched Uncle Garret take the phone back from Melissa and before I knew it, Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne was playing.

"THIS ONE I KNOW!" Colby declared, making us laugh.

"God, you're so old!" Melissa grumbled and he narrowed his eyes at her.

"Sorry I don't listen to whoever the fuck that was, in my bedroom when I'm alone" He mocked and Melissa gasped again, holding her hand to her chest.

"HIS NAME IS CEELO GREEN DUMBASS! Leighton who the fuck did you bring home!?" Melissa yelled.

I shook my head, and handed the pasta sauce to Cynthia.

"Aunt Ginger was obsessed with Ozzy Osbourne, and somehow she married like the complete opposite of him" I laughed and Uncle Garret faked offense.

"I look just like Ozzy Osbourne!" Garret pointed his finger at me and I scoffed.

"In your dreams big guy" I patted the back of his shoulder with my hand.

"I really thought I'd be more obsessed with the dogs, but I think Colby is" I laughed, everyone looking over at Colby who was doing a photoshoot of Captain passed out on the kitchen floor

a/n: the tagged person is Logan, Leighton's brother.

We were all currently sitting in the living room, talking about old childhood memories, and Colby even joined in and shared some of his own as we waited for the pizza's to cook.

I had a plate of tacos in front of me as I sat on the floor next to the coffee table. I was mid taco bite when I saw a hand covered in rings in my peripheral vision, snatching one of my tiny tacos.

"Hey!" I yelled, lettuce falling out of my mouth and onto my lap. "Woo pave yo own!" I spoke with my mouth full, dropping my taco onto my plate to smack Colby.

I swallowed my food and turned around to see Colby smugly eating my taco.

"Sharing is caring!" He exclaimed and I scrunched my face up at him in disbelief.

"I can't even steal yours! I throw up at the smell of pizza" I frowned, already knowing I'm going to have to leave the room soon until the pizza is done cooking.

"You know that's extremely inconvenient for you" He chuckled and if looks could kill.

"IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOU HAVE PIZZA NIGHT EVERY WEEK AND MY BABY DESPISES IT! Get your grubby hands off my tacos! Your FULL SIZE PIZZA is in the oven!" I flicked the top of his hand with my fingers.

"OW!" he yelled, rubbing the top of his hand.

"Don't touch my food!" I gave him a look and picked my taco back up. "Joey doesn't share food!" I declared and he gave me a weird look which made my eyes widen. "YOU'VE NEVER SEEN FRIENDS?!"

"Nope" he shook his head and we all gasped.

"Well I know what we are doing before you leave" I muttered before finishing up my tacos and excused myself back to my guest bedroom.

I wrote in my baby journal for a little white, explaining how today was going, what it was like and how I was feeling, when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" I called and Cynthia walked in.

"Hey, pizza is done. Do you want to try it?" She asked and I shook my head, closing the white journal.

"You know, I'm glad Logan brought up you bringing Colby. It's been really fun" She smiled at me, and I nodded slowly.

"It has been fun. It's weird seeing him interact with my family" I said softly, leaning back against the fluffy pillows.

"Yeah? You seem to be having fun with him" her eyes had a gleam in them and I playfully rolled my eyes.

"What are you insinuating here?" I asked and she laughed.

"Nothing! I think it's nice you guys are finally getting along, that's all" She pursed her lips, trying to hold back a smile.

It was quiet for a moment until she spoke again.

"Can we use the doppler now? I want to hear that heartbeat" She asked and I nodded, grabbing my backpack.

"Do you want to do it here, or out there with everyone else?" I asked, taking out the tiny machine.

"The selfish side of me says let's do it here" She smiled, sitting down on the bed.

I laughed and laid down, lifting my shirt up and pulling my pants down a little bit.

"Can you squeeze a little gel on my stomach?" I asked, handing her the tiny tube.

I turned on the machine and moved the gel around with the wand, searching for the magical sound that was my baby's heartbeat.

The biggest smile came across my face as I heard the wooshing sound.

"149, just like last time" I grinned, holding the screen above my face so I could watch it.

"When is your next appointment?" She asked and I sighed, not wanting to think about the needle going in my stomach.

When I return home from this trip. It's my 16 week appointment and I have to do the scary needle in the belly test"

Cynthia was about to reply when the bedroom opened and Melissa waltzed in, gasping. "You're doing it without me?!"

I decided not to play into her dramatics and just patted the bed.

Before I knew it, everyone had found their way into my room, including Captain, which made me laugh, but then I cried because he placed his head on my thigh with his nose resting against my stomach, and I sobbed like a baby over it for a good 2 minutes.

Everyone eventually left and Colby brought me a wet paper towel to wipe the gel off my stomach.

I snuggled with Captain in my bed, and asked Colby to take a photo and send it to me, but when he asked if he could post it to his story, I was caught by surprise.

"I mean, if you want to, sure" I mumbled, not really caring since I didn't have social media to be attacked on.

"I'm posting a poll to see if we should kidnap Captain" He laughed and I grinned against the puppy, kissing the back of his head.

a/n: I covered the original person's face, just to not add their identity into this random ass book, but Colby wouldn't have actually covered her face.

Captain was by far my little snuggle bug. Dakota was still in her extremely playful puppy phase, and didn't want to sit still for too long, so I definitely vibed with Captain more.

I was honestly glad Bentley was here to play with Dakota so Captain and I could be left alone from the playful puppy.

"I still can't believe someone I know is having a baby" He said softly, almost like he was talking out loud to himself.

"I can't believe I'm having a baby" I joked, tugging my shirt back down. "Speaking of, I know this is a big ask, and you can say no, but do you want to come with me on the 19th to my OBGYN appointment? I have to have an amniocentesis done" I asked and he gave me a weird look.

"What the fuck is that?" Colby asked and I sighed, hating the idea of it.

"They stick a needle in your stomach and test for birth defects and down syndrome etcetera" I explained and he grimaced.

"God no, I don't want to be there for that. I'm pretty sure I'll throw up" He gagged and I laughed, agreeing.

"You don't have to watch. I don't even want to be there for it, but I have to be. I googled how long it takes, the procedure is 10 minutes, but they might make me wait around to see if I have any bleeding. I don't know. I read some horror stories about it, and I'm terrified so that's fun. You really don't have to go, I'll be fine. Just thought I'd offer since it would be my first OBGYN appointment since you found out" I shrugged, wanting him to at least feel included this time.

"I mean, I could wait around with you, but I don't want to watch that" His face scrunched up and I nodded.

"Well we got some time to think about it. Let me know, I need to go pee though, so if you'll excuse me" I shimmied past him.

"Goodnight Leighton!" Colby called out and I smiled to myself.

"Goodnight Colby"

I know that they don't meet Amanda till 2021, but for storyline purposes, we are going to ignore that. If that bothers you, you can always pretend it's someone else. That being said... get ready ;)

Just to keep everyone up to date, the date right now in book is May 13th /14th - the investigation goes past midnight obviously lol

*Leighton's POV*

Sitting in a car with people who were best friends felt like I walked in on a slumber party that I wasn't invited to.

The car ride to this unknown location was 3 hours long and I was dreading it. The thought of sitting on my ass for this long, hoping to God that the restless leg syndrome which was a common pregnancy symptom didn't decide to kick in at the most inconvenient time was keeping my thoughts occupied, along with hoping I didn't pee my pants before we got there.

I read it was more common to get RLS towards the end of the pregnancy, so I can't wait to look forward to that. I texted my mom about it, and she said it sucked, which only made me more excited to get closer to the third trimester.

I've kept in contact with my family back home whilst on this trip, wanting to make sure my mom's recovery was going well, feeling guilty that I wasn't there to help her.

Along with keeping up to date with Aaliyah and River and how things were going.

River was trying to get a work promotion so he and Aaliyah could move in together, and Aaliyah was trying to save up to take some sort of online college course in Photography.

I was excited for my friends and everything they were trying to accomplish. I just wish I was right by their side to help them.

Brennen and Colby were talking about something, but I couldn't focus on it since I felt my stomach turn, making me reach for the peppermint oil.

I tried the ginger recommendation, but it didn't do it the same way the oil did. I also hear the bracelets work pretty well, but it was easier to hide a little oil on the wrist, than a pregnancy bracelet.

I might as well scream COLBY I'M PREGNANT if I wore one of those.

Even if he didn't know what it was, I'm sure one of their viewers would, and we didn't need that.

"Guys! Sam and Colby kidnapped me and are taking me to a haunted place! Send help!" Brennen explained, showing Kat and I on his IG story. "They nabbed Kat and Leigh too!"

Colby laughed as Sam piped up "You are all willing participants!" and Brennen stopped the video, tagging them and adding it to his story.

"So do all of your guys' car rides to haunted places involve just filming videos for Instagram?" I asked, noticing a pattern.

Did they ever not use social media?

"We film videos a lot in general. It's nice to have memories. Here, hand me your phone Leigh" Kat said, holding out her hand.

I handed her my phone, deciding it was better to go along with things, than to question them. Kat went to my camera, taking a couple photos of Sam and Colby in the front, Brennen and I in the back before leaning in and taking a selfie of the both of us.

"It's time we bring you to the dark side" Kat said and Brennen reopened his Instagram story.

"Kat what did you just say?" Brennen asked and Kat repeated it, and then Brennen panned the camera to me. "So Leighton doesn't have ANY social media. Never has. Vote below if we should bring Leigh to the dark side! Sam, Colby, what do you think?" Brennen asked, turning the phone around so the backside was facing us.

"I think that's a bad idea now that she's in our videos and with the current situation" Sam said and I nodded, understanding what he was saying. They had told me the horror stories of people attacking their friends, and that was the last thing my pregnant ass needed was to be stressed by their little fanbase all because I was standing across from Colby or was getting too close to Sam.

For all I know I could be getting hate just for sitting next to Brennen and Kat.

It was easier to pretend they were nobodies than to think about all the online drama there could possibly be brewing.

Sam said some people even attack people he's friends because they're "protecting Katrina"

I was honestly thankful I didn't have social media these past few days. It's made it less stressful being in their videos, because whatever people said, didn't affect me

I didn't have to read it, therefore it wasn't controlling my thoughts.

"I think she should do whatever she feels comfortable with. I kind of like that she doesn't have social media" Colby put his two cents in before Brennen ended the video.

"So are you guys nervous?" Kat asked and I nodded but Brennen had this cockiness to him as he replied "I'm ready to go beat some ghosts ass with Colby!"

"I'm nervous to meet up with the medium. I don't want to like... offend her y'know?" I spoke softly and Sam nodded.

"Just tell her you're a skeptic. She loves skeptics" Sam said, and I saw we were getting near the hotel.

I rested my hands on the bloating of my stomach feeling nervous.

I was currently wearing an oversized XPLR hoodie that I got from Sam and Colby along with some comfy leggings.

I haven't been feeling the best the past couple hours, but I knew I'd be fine, I just didn't feel like dressing up for the camera.

I had some light mascara on my eyes and a pink tinted Chapstick. I had all my piercings occupied by earrings, and a few dainty rings on my fingers.

"We're meeting her there right?" I asked and Sam nodded, focusing on driving.

"She's bringing her boyfriend, so they're meeting us there" Colby said and I nodded, looking out the window.

I was starting to feel anxious now that we were getting a lot closer to our final destination. We had a three hour drive to wherever we were going, which meant every hour we had to stop so I could pee and eat. Sam told me I had to constantly eat snacks and drink water or else I wasn't allowed to come, and we were already two hours in, which meant I was currently eating my chips ahoy cookies while Colby read off some facts about Hotel Coronado. It was apparently one of the mediums favorite places to go, and none of us had been before so Colby was doing a little research before we got there.

"This place is so cool!" Kat spoke in awe, looking around.

"Do you know where we're meeting her?" Brennen asked and Sam pulled out his phone. "I think in the Lobby?" I watched him pull up his texts, verifying it.

"We need to find her and do our intro so we can get started" Colby said, holding their camera.

We eventually found her and her boyfriend waiting in the lobby, and Sam walked over to her. "You made it! Thought you guys got lost" She joked.

Sam and Colby talked with her a little bit before I saw everyone look at me.

"What?"

"They were telling me that you're a skeptic, so I can't wait to change your mind" She smirked and I nodded slowly, extremely intimated by the gleam in her eye.

"Wassup guys! It's Sam and Colby!" Colby slurred, making Sam and Kat laugh.

I laughed when Sam repeated Colby, mocking him with hand motions, before making sweater paws and covering my face to hide my smile.

Once we all stopped laughing, they continued their introduction.

"Today we are with some friends!" Sam spoke, which was our cue to jump into frame. "We have Amanda the medium, my girlfriend Katrina, our friend Brennen and our roommate Leighton!" Sam pointed to each of us, and Kat laughed, making me giggle. "What!?" Sam exclaimed, starting to laugh while looking at us.

"We brought giggle McGee with us today, I'm sorry guys" Colby chuckled, pointing his finger at Katrina which made her laugh harder. "Kat, are you okay?" Sam laughed with her, and we all found ourselves giggling and then laughing at Kat's laugh.

"I'm sorry! I was just really caught off by Colby" She chuckled, covering her smile with her perfectly manicured hand.

"WASSSSSSUP GUYYYS!" Kat spoke in a a surfer dudes voice and we all laughed as she continued to cackle.

"Alright let's try this again!" Sam spoke and we all nodded, getting out of frame, not knowing if Sam was going to keep that in or put it as a blooper.

"What's up guys, it's Sam and Colby!" Colby reintroduced, overly pronounced the beginning making us chuckle.

"What? I did it normal this time!" Colby defended as we all giggled.

"I don't know what you guys were worried about in the car. This doesn't seem so bad" Brennen laughed ,making Kat and I giggle.

We tried really hard to pull ourselves together, but we kept bouncing off each other's energy and just laughing harder at the other person.

"We've been laughing for the past 10 minutes of being here, so hopefully it'll be a good night!" Colby grinned at the camera.

"Anyway!" Sam drug out "We are here today at one of Amanda's favorite spots, Hotel Coronado in San Diego, Colby and I have never been. We are joined by a couple of our friends, Brennen, Kat, and Leighton. It is Brennen and Leigh's first haunted video and probably Brennen's last" Sam and Colby chuckled and Brennen rolled his eyes, smirking. "So please comment down below how much you love Leighton being here, so we can con her into coming more often!" Sam grinned and they all cheered and I blushed, covering my face.

"Damn, Sam's already kicking me out before I even started!" Brennen jokes, making us laugh.

"Watch them all spell my name wrong" I teased, and they all laughed.

"Your name is spelt how it sounds though?" Sam noted and I shook my head.

"People spell my name like the chip brand Lays. Or like when my brother does talk to text and says Leigh he gets pissed off because it will spell it L-e-a-h. Like to the point he stopped doing talk to text" I giggled before scanning my surroundings feeling a little creeped out.

"He could change it in his settings. I had to do that with Kat's name because it would always spell it like the animal. Just to make it known her name is spelt L-e-i-g-h-t-o-n" Sam said and I nodded, focusing back on the camera as he started to talk "We are going to share some brief history with you guys" Sam spoke and I started to zone out, placing my hands on my back and pressed in on the pain that felt like the muscles in my back were being stretched.

"There is a guy watching us, standing by the tree about 10 feet away" Amanda spoke up, startling everyone.

"Wait what? Like right now?" Sam questioned, and she nodded. I saw Sam and Colby turn to look at each other and their eyes were widened whilst Katrina covered her face with her sweatshirt.

From left to right went Brennen, Me, Kat, Amanda, Sam, Colby. Brennen made a weird face when Amanda said she saw a dead person, glancing at Kat and I and then to Colby since Sam was focused on Filming where Amanda was looking at.

"He has on dark skinny jeans, a dark t-shirt, and shoulder length hair" Amanda spoke and I muttered "Harry Styles?" to myself but I heard Kat snicker making Colby look at us.

"I think Kat had too much caffeine today. She's been giggling since dinner" Colby noted and Sam nodded, agreeing.

"Leighton made a joke! It's not my fault!" Kat defended, smacking Colby's arm.

While Kat and Colby were talking to each other, Sam and I were looking at Amanda who was intently looking towards the tree.

"Does the name Steven mean anything to anyone?" Amanda asked, causing Colby and Kat to shut up.

We all shook our heads and I noticed Sam was asking Amanda questions, but I wasn't able to focus.

A steven with shoulder length hair?

It couldn't be...

Life would be a lot easier if it was a dead fake Harry Styles...

"He says he's a relative to someone here. He's looking at Leighton and Kat. Like towards that direction. He's kind of skinnier. Kind of a stern face. He's just kind of watching." Amanda paused and looked over at me before back towards the tree "He says he's protecting Leighton. Like he gives off protective dad vibes" she said, looking back at me and my face scrunched up and Sam looked at me.

"Guys we haven't even entered the building yet and Leighton's already haunted!" Sam looked towards the Camera, and I felt everyone's eyes on me. "Maybe we really should bring her with more" he joked but I shook my head, already knowing this wasn't something I wanted to do all the time.

"He's my relative? My ex lost his grandfather last year who went by Stephen. That's all I can think of" My brow furrowed as I looked back towards the tree. I tried to imagine the description of what she had said, and I was starting to feel kind of choked up.

If it was who I thought it was, I knew I wouldn't be able to hold back my tears, so I tried really hard to pretend it wasn't happening.

You can't see dead people when looking at the air.

Ghosts aren't real.

You die and that is it.

Sam filmed us walking into the building, getting some cinematic shots before he and Colby filmed a brief history for the video. Brennen went to use the bathroom, which left us girls all huddled over in a corner, waiting patiently.

I was looking around in the building, feeling uneasy when Amanda lightly touched my arm, making me jump. "Hey Leighton? Can I ask you a personal question?" Amanda asked and I nodded, focusing on her. "Um, do you know anything about a baby?" She muttered and Kat and I's jaws dropped.

"What? Why?" I asked quickly and Amanda's face scrunched up.

I instinctively rested my hands on my bump, from the pocket of the hoodie, feeling the raise under my fingertips. I felt very nervous that if she was the real deal, she not only knew my secrets, but something was going to happen.

"The man is still with us. He's very protective and he just keeps showing me baby feet. Like footprints if you'd dipped them in ink and pressed them down on a paper, like they do for birth certificates" Amanda said and I felt my eyes tear up.

"I'm pregnant" I whispered so Colby didn't hear me. I watched surprise fill her facial features as I closed my eyes to hold back tears. "Colby is the only one who doesn't know, please don't tell him." I begged, and Amanda nodded.

"That isn't my place. I won't say anything. The guy is just pestering me about a baby. He kept saying my baby, and was looking at you. At least now I know why" She chuckled and I nodded, wiping the stray tear away.

"I mean it's my baby's great grandfather if that's my ex's grandfather" I bit my lip, wiping a tear away.

My heart was starting to race, so I took some deep breaths, knowing Sam would have my neck if I passed out again on this trip, especially after everything we've gone through.

I saw Amanda's face brighten from Sam's camera light as he quickly looked over at us, concern making itself in his eyes. "Hey what's wrong?" He asked me and I shook my head, wiping at my eyes again. Sam pointed the camera down towards the floor and gave me his full attention. "Off camera, what's up? Why are you crying? Did something happen?"

"Amanda knows about the baby. A ghost told her" I whispered and his eyes widened. Before he could ask questions, I asked if they were done filming the history part of the hotel, and he nodded, bringing his camera back up since Colby was walking over towards us, Brennen by his side.

Colby walked behind me and I put my hands in the sweater pockets, resting against what I hoped to be a significant bump, as Sam filmed Amanda who was explaining her past experiences here.

"I saw Kate Morgan last time I was here. But so far I've only seen that one guy" Amanda explained and I offered Colby a cracker and he laughed, shaking his head. "I think Sam would disown me if I took your food. He made is very known that the snack bag was yours"

"What? When did he do that? And you're not stealing, I offered" I opened the bag of goldfish for him again and he declined.

"When you went to the use the bathroom, he told us we weren't allowed to steal your snacks, and that it was doctors orders you had snacks and water at all times" he told me I tried really hard to mask my surprise, but I think a little of it slipped since I watched Coby smirk.

We were all sitting in a circle, the Rempod in the middle and Sam was sitting over in the corner with the speaker box and headphones. To my left was Amanda, and my right was Brennen. Kat and Brennen were acting a little spooked here and there, but they were still cracking jokes, whereas I was feeling very nervous. The idea of Stephen following me made my chest tighten, and thinking about him knowing about my little baby made my heart hurt.

He meant so much to me, and he died such a sudden death, that the idea of him being near me was making my eyes well up with tears.

Was he disappointed in me? If he was protecting me.. that showed he still cared.. right?

"Is anyone here?" Colby asked and we got no reply. We asked a couple questions, and nothing was happening until Sam went "Hello" startling us.

"Hello. What's your name?" Colby asked and Brennen and I looked at each other, shock clear on both of our faces.

I was not expecting Sam to say a damn thing, let alone for it to be so polite.

"Stephen" Sam spoke and my eyes widened. "Hi" Sam's voice bounced off the hotel room walls.

"He's standing behind Colby" Amanda said to me and I nodded, my eyes welling up with tears.

I was too distracted by all my past memories with Stephen to even process what was going on.

I didn't believe in ghosts, but how else would she know?

If she knew about Stephen, this would be a very cruel joke.

"I'm Colby, nice to meet you" Colby said and the silence was killing me.

"Did you die here?" Colby asked and I was praying to God it wasn't who I thought it was. I was so not prepared for any of this to happen, let alone for it to be someone I knew.

Going into this, I really did have low expectations. I figured nothing would happen, or they'd fake things for the camera, but they seemed dead set on proving ghosts exist, even to themselves, and it was making me incredibly nervous.

"No" Sam spoke immediately and then followed it up with "Tattoos" making all of us look at each other's arms

I held my breath, before asking "Whose tattoos?"

Colby pointed the camera at me as I subconsciously rubbed my fingers up and down my forearm that was beneath the sweatshirt.

"Silly, run, someone laughed" Sam spoke quickly and Colby made a face that read "What the fuck?"

"I hate that" Colby shuddered, and Kat nodded, everyone staying quiet.

This was the most serious I've seen Brennen all night, glancing over at him and seeing his eyes locked on Sam was only adding to my nerves.

There was a huge knock above us making Brennen and I jump.

"Holy shit!" Brennen yelled, Kat and Colby looking up as well.

I didn't dare to look at what Amanda was doing. I believed in innocence was bliss more so now than I ever have before.

"Her, pretty, mine" Sam said and us girls just looked at each other.

"There is a woman standing in front of Sam. She has brown hair, goes to about her collarbones. She's kind of fuller but not overweight. Shorter. She's someone's mother. Not any of your guys mom, but like, a ghost child's mother that's in the building" She said and I squinted my eyes, looking towards Sam.

What if she was lying?

"Baby" Sam spoke, taking me out of my thoughts. "Bridget was here! It was a full sentence!" Sam freaked out, still keeping the headphones on. "That was a full sentence! Oh my god!" He continued to freak out, clutching the headphones with his hands.

"Whose Bridget?" Kat asked and I shook my head, hating everything that was happening right now.

"Daughter" Sam said and I held my breath

"Bridget Crow?" I asked, my chest tightening

"Correct" Sam spoke and everyone looked at me.

"She's not dead" I spoke in a blunt tone

"You Know" Sam replied.

"I wrote down "They don't know" and "Happy for you" which Sam didn't say" Amanda said, showing her notepad with the scribbles on it. "The man is still here. He's talking with Sam. He's slightly annoyed that Leighton is being stubborn and ignoring him. He has a lot he wants to say to her, but she won't look at him. Leighton, if you want to know, look towards the window in front of Sam, on that wall. I will tell you what he says if you'd like. All your choice. I don't do things for the dead, I just inform the living" She said and I nodded, taking a deep breath before feeling my heart drop to my stomach as Sam yelled "It said baby twice! Like it went baby, baby" and Amanda just looked at me, almost challenging me to do it.

I rubbed my knuckles with my fingers when Colby spoke up. "Can you make our Rempod go off?" He asked and it was silent until Sam spoke again "Doesn't believe me. It was like broken up. Like it was hard to get out as to what that sentence was" I sighed out loud, Brennen and Kat looking towards me as I rubbed my eye, contemplating the pros and cons of talking to him. If he was even him.

I really didn't want to do this, but I knew his ass was going to spill my fucking secret because that's what he would've done in real life.

"Stop talking about it Stephen!" I demanded and the Rempod went off startling us.

"Thank you" Colby spoke but I ignored him, starting to feel creeped out. If this was real, then that meant my ex's grandfather was trying to spill secrets that were not his to tell.

"There is another spirit here with him. Her name starts with an E, she has short hair. She's more on the heavier side, she's staring at Leighton" Amanda said, staring behind Colby.

There were three ghosts in here? And they're all looking at me?

No one told me we were having a party. I would've put on something better than a hoodie and leggings

"Stop looking at me! I'm not for show!" I hissed, starting to feel defensive and insecure that things I couldn't see were staring at me.

I was trying to be opened minded, but I was still very much so creeped out from earlier, and I was starting to just want to say fuck it, call it a load of bullshit and leave, until Sam spoke up yet again. "She's mad" Colby gasped "What the fuck!" He exclaimed, pointing the camera towards Sam.

"Did you make her mad?" Colby asked and Sam pulled the headphones off, shaking his head.

"That was weird, man. Like there was some weird grumble. I kept hearing two people talking. One kept mentioning a baby and the other kept talking about you guys but they were at the same time, so I didn't know which to say. Like it was going crazy. Anyone else want to try?" Sam asked and Amanda looked at me. "I think you should do it" She said and I glared at her.

"Why?"

"The man really wants to talk to you. I can sit here with you and have a conversation. He's very willing to talk to you" Amanda said and I looked over at Sam and Colby who both had a gleam in their eye.

I could already hear their inner thoughts.

"If you don't want to hear what he has to say, I'll ignore him, but he REALLY wants to talk to you" She said and I sighed, rubbing my eye and glancing towards the spirit box.

"Fine" I muttered, standing up and switching spots with Sam.

"You don't have to do this if you don't want to, Leigh" Sam said, passing the spirit box off towards me.

"Whatever makes him go away" I grumbled, sitting down where Sam previously was.

I put the headphones on, turned on the spirit box and the god awful noise was filling my ears.

"Hello Leigh" a voice said and I swear my whole body froze.

"It said my name" I told them and I gulped. I closed my eyes, listening to the horrible sound, completely unaware of anything that was happening in front of me. "It went, Hello Leigh"

I felt extremely vulnerable and slightly afraid that this was all a prank. Like some sort of sorority initiation.

They wouldn't do that, right?

I kept saying random things, having no clue what they were too, when someone pushed my thigh making me gasp and take the headphones off.

At this very moment, I was extremely thankful I didn't just pee myself. Not going to lie.

I heard words like "Prison, it was him, silly, confused, forgotten, and baby"

"We should stop" Colby said and I nodded, confused.

Now I'm even more thankful I didn't pee myself, my eyes locking with Colby as I handed him the headphones.

I liked being on the end that got both the question and the answer, not the end that was just saying weird words without context. It gave me peace of mind when I actually knew what the air was replying to.

I was still unconvinced about this whole ghost thing, but it definitely was odd about the coincidences of some of the answers.

I was sitting out of frame, away from the mic as I ate some crackers and drank some water so Sam and Kat didn't kill me, when Colby yelled and quickly turned around. "SOMETHING TOUCHED ME! I NEVER GET TOUCHED! SOMETHING GRABBED MY FOOT!" He yelled.

"You sure it wasn't Leighton under the couch again?" Kat teased and Colby gave her a look.

"I'm over here eating goldfish, leave me alone!" I shouted from across the room, making them laugh.

"No but really, something grabbed my fucking foot" Colby spoke frantically, looking all around him.

"I know who it was" Amanda said and everyone turned to look at her. "It was Leighton's relative"

I just stared at her, unsure if I was going to believe her. I was very nervous that this so called spirit of my ex's grandfather was about to spill the beans before I could, considering baby shit kept coming up on the stupid little radio box.

"Leigh! You and your family need to lose your guys' foot fetishes!" Colby called out and I rolled my eyes.

"YOU'RE THE ONE THAT PULLED ME DOWN THE BED BY MY FOOT! YOU'RE THE ONE TO TALK ABOUT FOOT FETISHES!" I yelled and Colby smirked and yelled back "IT WAS PAYBACK!"

"Children stop it. We are trying to contact ghosts, not apply for wiki feet!" Sam called out, propping the camera on a ledge.

"I bet Colby's feet are on wiki feet" Brennen said and I laughed, shaking my head at the fact that it was an actual website.

Brennen stuck around Colby the whole night, and I got the vibe that Brennen was a little uncomfortable.

I knew he was skeptical like me, but I also know he has experienced some weird stuff before, so I think he was a little more on edge than he was letting on to be.

I hung around Kat and Amanda, wanting to keep out of their video as much as possible. I didn't want to give their fans a whole lot of time to inspect my behavior, and I also didn't want to ruin it by my skepticism around the whole thing.

I still was unsure about this ghost thing, but watching them freak out of what was basically air was making it worth coming.

"Did you guys hear that?" Brennen asked and I shook my head, whilst everyone nodded.

"What was it?" I asked, reaching into my bag to grab my peppermint oil so I could calm my stomach down.

"There was some weird like tap thing behind us" Brennen said and I nodded slowly, deciding to just roll with the punches.

I didn't want to be that bitch who seemed lost and confused twenty four seven.

I still felt weird that they were just talking to the air in a hotel. I was nervous someone was going to walk by and think we were on drugs.

I was kind of zoning out whilst they ghost hunted, trying to focus on not vomiting in the room and have Colby blame it on a ghost.

I kept sniffing my wrists, trying to settle my stomach as I munched on a cracker.

Everyone said you got morning sickness when you were pregnant, no one told me it could come in waves all day long.

I was slightly regretting ghost hunting whilst pregnant.

Not because it was scary and stressful, but because I felt like I was dragging down the video since I was tired and nauseous.

We all moved back to a hotel room, and Sam set up the music box whilst Colby turned on the Rempod, putting them in different spots of the room.

I laid on the bed on my phone, texting Cynthia when I heard a music chime go off, Sam and Amanda talking at the same time, making me have a hard time focusing on what everyone was saying, so I set my phone down and inched closer towards the bed.

"THAT WAS SO COOL!" Sam exclaimed and Kat shook her head. "That was so creepy dude!"

"What happened?" I asked and Amanda looked towards me, her eyes squinting a little bit.

She kept looking at me, which was freaking me out. I was confused why I felt like the whole room stopped and everyone was staring at me. I felt like I was standing in my underwear in front of the whole school, and there was nowhere to hide.

"I'm going to go walk outside with Leighton real quick, we'll be right back" Amanda said and everyone looked at me weird. Brennen mouthed "You good?" and I shrugged, following the blonde out of the hotel room.

"What are we doing?" I asked and she walked towards the elevator.

"I want you out of the hotel room for your safety" she said and my eyes widened.

"What? Why?"

"Pregnant women are easier to connect with. I wasn't just going to say that in the room. Spirits like to mess with them, connect with them. You're like an off brand me right now" She said, taking me aback.

"How?"

"I think it has to do with the actual baby. I'm not sure. The man is still with us though, I've been ignoring him. He has a lot of questions, but you said you didn't want to talk about it, so I've been pretending he isn't there. The woman is still around, and the other woman has been answering Sam and Colby's questions. I've been trying to focus on the video, but the man won't leave me alone. We both needed some fresh air" She smiled, opening the lobby doors.

Amanda and I sat on a bench for a little bit when I heard Amanda go "She doesn't want to talk about it. I work for the living, not the dead" making my heart race.

Was he actually here?

Why did he want to talk to me so bad?

Did I believe her?

"I'll do it" I whispered and she asked me if I was sure and I nodded.

"It's kind of chilly, do you want to go back in, or do it out here? He's standing in front of me with his arms crossed, mad I was ignoring him" She let out a breathy laugh and I decided to go back up to the room.

Amanda and I walked in to Kat and Brennen yelling, Colby asking "What the hell was that?" Sam recording the Rempod.

"What is going on?" I asked, startling them.

"SHIT HIT THE FAN!" Sam yelled, making my eyes widen in surprise, not prepared for his outburst.

What?

"We were trying to talk to something, and it went kind of silent after you guys left, but then we turned on the spirit box and it kept talking about a baby, and something or someone was lost. Not really making sense, and then the Rempod kept sporadically beeping, and now it's going haywire!" Sam explained and I nodded slowly, trying to comprehend his rapid babbling.

"Leighton and I are going to go sit in the other room, we have some business to take care of" Amanda said and Colby eyed me up.

"What? Why?" Kat asked and I sighed, blinking a couple times. My tiredness and nerves are getting the best of me.

Sam asked if he could come with us, that way Kat, Brennen and Colby could keep investigating this room, but Colby was acting strange about it, making everyone else in the room look at Amanda and I weird. Colby asked why Sam wanted to go, and why I couldn't do it here, with everybody and I was starting to feel a headache from all the commotion and questions.

"Because the ghost knows me plus you guys keep investigating and I'll record audio on my phone. I want to do this in private" I explained and after about a minute they finally agreed. Colby convinced Sam to stay back because he asked why Sam could go with if it was private.

"We'll be back" I muttered, not wanting them to walk in on something.

If Stephen was already trying to spill my secret, God knows what he's going to say when we're alone.

I don't know if I should be happy he's trying to spill the baby secret, and not my deeper more personal secret, or mad that he's trying to spill a secret at all.

Amanda and I walked down the hall and I sat on the hotel bed.

"Okay, I've never done this to be honest. Like this guy is very much ready to talk and basically have me be his voice. He says hello" Amanda said and I nodded.

"Hey Stephen"

"He's standing by the TV" She said and I nodded, staring in that direction. "He says congratulations and that he is sorry he isn't with you. That he misses you" She said and I felt the tears form, hearing his voice as he welcomed me, hugging me every time Gabe and I walked into his home.

He truly loved me like a granddaughter, and I'll forever be in debt to him and the gratitude he had shown me over the years.

He helped me when no one else would, and that's not something you forget very easily.

"Thank you, papa" I gave a small smile before playing with the rings on my hands.

Was this really happening?

Was he proud of me?

Did I disappoint him by getting pregnant?

He always said I was going to do big things, and that little setbacks were just part of life, and not to let them drown you forever... but what if he was wrong? What if my life was truly over all because of some silly mistake?

"He says he's protecting you and the baby from the bad that resides in this building. That he is here for the good"

"Thank you" I repeated, not sure what to say.

"He wants to see the bump. He's almost giddy like it's his own child" She laughed, and I nodded, lifting my sweatshirt off and moving my tank top up so the bump was showing.

It was later in the night, which meant my bump was noticeable. The bloating of the water I have drunk makes it puff out a little more than normal.

Sam has been on my heels about drinking and eating, it was almost like my own mother was with me. Considering how much fluid I've had to drink, my bump was considerably big due to bloating.

"He was like a grandfather to me. It killed me when he passed" I sighed, trying to hold back my tears. "Why did you bring up Gabe's mom?" I asked, still confused at the events that took place earlier.

"He said she knows you're pregnant. That Gabe had told her" Amanda said and I nodded slowly.

Why didn't he tell me he told his family?

"Who else has he told?" I asked, my bladder starting to kill me, telling me I needed to go pee.

"He's kind of fading a bit. He might be losing energy I don't know. This is a first for me. He says just his mom"

But why?

"I'm sorry if I disappointed you in any way. I didn't mean to get pregnant at 20, or for my baby to be born out of wedlock" I felt a tear fall down my face. I imagined it was the same look on his face when Gabe told him what had happened, and that mental picture I painted myself haunted me for years.

"He says you're still a ray of sunshine in his life, and that he is really proud of how you've handled the pregnancy and that you haven't fallen off the wagon. That he's been watching over you guys, excited to meet the little one, even if he isn't actually alive to do so" Amanda told me softly and I nodded, starting to cry.

"Please stop telling the boys about the baby. I don't want to get kicked out okay? I understand you're trying to protect the baby, but I'm trying to keep my room." I pleaded and Amanda sighed.

"He heard you and vanished. He didn't agree or argue. He just disappeared?" She spoke in a confused tone and I ran my hand over my belly.

I got up quickly, rushing to the bathroom.

I shouldn't have drank so much water.

I finished peeing, and washed my hands before splashing some water on my face, getting rid of the smeared mascara that was under my eye and taking a deep breath.

What the hell just happened?

I walked back out and Amanda was sitting on the ground, leaning against the bed as she stared at something.

"Is everything okay?" I asked and she nodded.

"The woman was asking me if I knew anything about your pregnancy. She apparently died pregnant, and is jealous of you. She just wants the details" Amanda said and I gave her a weird look.

"Um okay, like what?"

"She's asking how far along are you"

"10 almost 11 weeks" I said, looking where Amanda was.

"She said that she lost her baby at 16 weeks. That she remembers the first trimester weeks fondly, but her pregnancy was hell" She said and I frowned. "What does that mean?" I asked, sitting down next to her.

"Apparently, her family was extremely upset that she was pregnant with the mayor's son's baby. Apparently the son and her father didn't get along, and the son got her pregnant out of spite? Her father killed her baby, and she killed herself, not being able to handle that kind of mental and physical torture of losing her baby" Amanda said and I felt more tears fall down my face, imagining what that must've felt like, to not only lose your baby, but for your father to be the one to do it.

"She's the woman with the E name. She says her name was Elisabeth, but her family called her Elisa. If you're comfortable with it, she'd like to see the bump" Amanda sighed and I nodded, lifting my tank top again.

If I thought this was weird, I can only imagine what was going on inside Amanda's head right now.

I laid down on my back, my stomach's bloating on full display.

"Can I touch your stomach?" Amanda asked and I nodded.

"Her stomach feels kind of squishy. If you press down a little, it's slightly hard" Amanda said and I was starting to feel uncomfortable. "She says her baby was going to be a boy, and that seeing your bump makes her feel closer to her little one" Amanda said softly, and I think she could tell I was becoming freaked out.

I was not a toy they could play with. I wasn't a trophy they could look at and I sure as hell was no science experiment for this grieving ghost.

"Can we stop?" I asked, my stomach feeling weird.

Amanda nodded and she stood up, reaching for my hand.

I felt weird. Like the woman was out for revenge or some shit, and I've never wanted out of a hotel faster in my life. The second she pulled me up, the hotel door opened and I felt my heart start to race as panic set in.

I tried to pull my tank top down quick enough, but even if I did, it was form fitting, so I knew I was screwed.

I was praying to god that it was Sam or Kat on the other side, but I had a sinking feeling in my stomach that it wasn't going to work out in my favor.

The door fully opened, my hand gripping my tank top as I tried to pull it down, everything moving so quickly, and that's when my eyes locked with Colby's. Confusion and hurt filling his facial features.

"I can explain!" I spoke quickly and he shook his head, pushing Sam and Kat out of the way.

"COLBY!" Brennen yelled, and I quickly grabbed my hoodie before going to run after him, but I felt my head pound even more, causing me to slow down.

All I could think about was

I should've told him sooner.

Completely Exhausted

Summary: Y/N confronts Colby about him overworking.

Author’s Note: hello! first angst piece in a loooong time very hype! the gif keeps glitching on desktop I'm sorry :(( anyways I hope you guys enjoy it!! This is my gif!

Colby rested his hand onto his forehead as he leaned his body back against his chair. He pressed his finger against the mouse watching back the few seconds he just edited. Every second in the video he wanted it to be perfect, which meant spending hours looking over just a few minutes of footage. This video was nowhere near done, he had over three hours more footage to edit through. He sighed as he paused the clip again. He rubbed his eyes with his hands, trying to rub the sleep from his eyes.

Sam was down the hall editing another video for their channel, doing the exact same process. Both of them were overworked and completely exhausted. Neither of them were willing to take a breather or a second to stop. Their expectations of themselves have risen over the last few months and they are trying their best to be perfect.

Katrina and Y/N both have basically moved into the house, since it was the only time they were able to see them. The two sat in the movie theater watching Bring it On. “How’s Sam doing?” Y/N asked Katrina. She let out a long sigh with a forced chuckle leaving her lips.

“Saying he’s stressed is an understatement, I’ve gotten him to sleep a bit more this week, but he hasn’t listened to me about a break at all,” Katrina explained, “‘We just started there’s no way we can take a break now,’ I mean at least slow down, you know?” she let out another sigh.

“Colby literally said the same thing the other night, I don’t understand why they can’t start posting every other week. I hate seeing them like this.” Y/N leaned her head back against the sofa while shifting her gaze towards the movie they were no longer paying any attention to.

Her phone buzzed beside her with a text from her friend Jazmine. Her eyes shifted to her background of herself with Colby. It was an older photo, back when Colby had red hair. Her favorite color he’s ever had. It was a screenshot she took from one of Kevin’s videos of them cuddling together during one of the challenge videos. Her heart fluttered as her cheeks heated up. “I just don’t want him to be like this anymore,” Y/N let out, pressing her lips together.

“I think we need to talk to them,” Katrina offered.

“They won’t listen to us, you know that.”

“We have to make them listen, it’s not good for them to be working like this,” Katrina said. The girls nodded towards each other, leaving the theater room. The movie is still blaring in the background. Silently they both run up the stairs. “Mission de-stress Sam and Colby commence,” she whispered as they fist bumped each other. Y/N watched Katrina walk towards Sam’s room down the other hall.

Y/N slowly pushed the door open into Colby’s room. Her eyes glanced around the dark room. She saw Colby sitting at his desk. She frowned as she slowly walked towards him. She watched as he leaned his body back against his chair, shifting his gaze towards her briefly. His eyes lit up once he saw her. He pulled his headphones from his head, resting them down in hsi lap. “Hey Babe, I still have a lot to-”

“I know Love, I just wanted to come check on you,” she offered as she leaned down beside him, glancing towards the computer screen. A small smile formed to his lips as he looked down towards her.

“I’m all good, I promise, I just want to get this done,” he explained while he shifted his gaze towards the screen, adjusting a clip so slightly that Y/N couldn’t tell if he actually did anything.

“How long have you been working?” she asked while she rested her hand absentmindedly on top of his hand. He sighed while he ran his fingers through his hair. He shifted his gaze towards her.

“Since 10ish, I think, I’m not sure,” he said. She looked into his red and darkened eyes. Her fingers slowly started to run along the skin of his hand. “I’ve got a couple more hours of footage to get done, I just really need to focus and then I can give you attention later,” he said while he pulled his hand away from her. She tilted her head back while she stared towards him with her face scrunched.

“I’m not a dog, Colby, I don’t need your attention. You’ve been working non-stop and I wanted you to take a break, but yeah I’ll leave you alone,” she said while she stood up and turned to walk out of the room.

He leaned his body back against the chair. “You know I didn’t mean it like that, Y/N come on. I’m just tired, okay,” he said with the intention to apologize but it didn’t feel like an apology.

“I know you’re tired, I get it, but come on Colby you can take a second to breathe. Your fans will understand,” she crossed her arms over her chest.

“They won’t though,” he sighed.

“Most of your fans are understanding, Baby, if you guys start posting every other week they will still enjoy your content, I promise. You guys just need a breather, for tonight at least.” She tried to help but she could tell he was not in the right mind to listen.

“We tried that and our views went down, Y/N. We tried everything but it’s like if we do one thing differently they hate us. Everything that we do is always wrong, so we can’t take a second to breathe because there is never a second to breathe when everyone is always watching our backs to see if we do exactly what they want. And if it's slightly different all hell breaks loose. So no, I’m not going to take a break or sleep until this is finished.” he explained, his voice becoming more aggressive as he spoke.

“Not everything has to be perfect Colby, you need to focus on yourself, because this isn’t you.” she expressed while she walked towards him. He shook his head letting out a dry laugh.

“Oh come on, Y/N. I’m tired, that's it, don’t start pulling the crap of ‘this isn’t you’, because it’s BS,” he mocked, impersoninating her voice. She rolled her eyes, a huff leaving her lips.

“Oh fuck off, Colby. Tell me when was the last time you, Sam, Katrina, and I went out and hung out together not for a video? Or the last time we went out on a date or cuddled or anything like that. You and Sam have been so tunnel vision on work you guys are forgetting your friends and girlfriends aren’t your employees for videos.” she shot back. He tossed the headphones in his lap onto the desk, a loud thud was heard as he stood up and walked towards her.

“It really comes back to me not spending enough time with you? Really?! You know how important my work is and you know you don’t have to say yes when I ask if you want to be in the video. That’s on you! We are together all of the time, I don’t understand why you think we aren’t,”

She felt her eyes start to form with tears. It’s been over a year since they’ve argued like this. “You want to know why I say yes to every video you ask me to do?” she asked, and he nodded his head while he ran his fingers through his hair, “Because I know it’s guaranteed that we will spend time together. It’s because I miss you and I miss the happy version of you. Not this workaholic that only cares about views and money!”

He let out a dry laugh as he shook his head, “When did I ever say that?”

“You just did Colby! You said you wouldn’t switch up your posting schedule because of the lack of views, I mean come on listen to yourself!”

“Okay fine I do care! But that’s not all I care about! I’m trying to build a future for us-”

“There is no future for us if you keep doing this to yourself!” she yelled.

“You act like I’m drinking myself to death or something!” he yelled back towards her as he walked towards his bed and sat down. He rested his arms on his knees as he dropped his head. His eyes started to fill with tears, he raised his hand and wiped his eyes. “I’m sorry, Y/N,” he let out, his voice breaking slightly. “I just want-I just-I don’t know.”

Her lips fell into a pout as she slowly walked towards him. She sat down beside him. She didn’t touch him, she didn’t sit too close to him, but she wanted him to know she was there for him. “I know you are just trying to help me, I’m sorry. It’s a lot of pressure and I think it’s just getting to me,” he let out, his voice hoarse.

She leaned over and rested her head onto his shoulder. She took a hold of his hand and slowly brought it up to her lips. She pressed a small kiss to his hand and whispered, “How about we finish this conversation after a night's rest, okay?” He didn’t respond, he simply nodded. He stood up and took off the Take Chances Hoodie he had on. She climbed on the bed and slipped under the covers, while she opened the blanket for Colby. He smiled softly as he laid beside her on the bed. “Come here,” she whispered.

He gladly rested his head onto her chest, shutting his eyes immediately. She slowly started running her fingers through his hair, down his neck and his back. Aiding in his sleep as much as possible. Her phone buzzed in her pocket and she carefully reached inside and took a hold of it.

A text from Katrina was on the screen, Sam and I heard you two arguing, are you okay? Y/N stared at the text and she wasn’t sure exactly how to answer, the argument was clearly not finished but she needed him to rest. I’m okay, he finally listened to me about sleeping, probably gonna argue more in the morning but for now, we are okay, how’s Sam? Katrina quickly replied saying Sam didn’t argue it but definitely was not a fan of the idea either. The two boys were very similar in that aspect for sure.

She looked down towards the now sleeping boy, admiring him at his most peaceful state. Herself felt at peace knowing he was taking a second to recover from his long past few months. Her fingertips continued to graze his skin, helping herself soon fall asleep still holding him in her arms.
