There is a lake, somewhere between Antiva and the Free Marches. It sits upon a green rise of land, staring skyward, lidless and still. Exactly four hundred and twenty fruit trees and wild grapes frame it like lace. Hellebores and foxgloves dot the sun-dappled grasses around the most bountiful trees, particularly the peaches.

Rumour of the local folk says Lake Mythallian was once the hand mirror of a giantess.

Legend says, the Giantess planted deadly flowers as guardians of her hand mirror. None may look upon the lake and none may take fruit.

Myth says, the flowers were of such a poisonous variety, that every fruit with a seed absorbed a thimble’s worth. The pious claim enduring the poison is a trial for those who wish to taste the fruits. But take only one bite and no more. It is said if you look close between the lush grasses beneath the peach trees in particular, there often lie the bones of the unwary adventurer.

Beware the peaches and those who take freely of the fruit of the lake. Beware those who have gazed into the waters nonetheless have swam bare as a nug within.
