I would argue that zellenials are a thing. Coming from someone who was born in 99 and has sibilings born in 03 and 07 I can comfirm that they had/have very different childhoods than I did, and they will never know VCR or dial up internet which is why they just feel from a different generation than me. I guess I would say Im gen Z before millennial though, so I also somewhat agree w you? (Also i did watch rugrats but im from canada and sometimes US shows air later here so idk lol)

I mean, millennials born in the 80s had a different experience than I did being born in the 90s. The whole older/younger millennials thing and all that. But there’s still that shared experience of being in middle/high school and/or college when social media became a thing and cellphones took off. Large generational blocks do have differences even within them.

I think my main issue is people trying to single out this one small block of time as something so different. I’m the only one in my family not born on some generational cusp, and it’s never been a thing for my parents to want to be xoomers. Those first few years of a new generation are gonna seem a bit weird, but that’s actually kind of how we all feel anyway.

And ultimately, generations are dumb. In the same way your zodiac sign is what it is and you get to exist within and despite it, your generation doesn’t have to be any kind of defining feature. It’s really just to make it easier for history books to section off time.

Also, Rugrats was meant more as a way to represent an era of TV. It’s late, I like Reptar. Maybe I should have gone with something more niche. Ren and Stimpy, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain. Those kinds of things.

A1: When did you start reading fanfiction?B5: Which story have you read more than any other? How many times?

So I need to answer these two together because they're related.

I first got dial-up internet in the year 1999. I know this because I moved houses between 5th grade and 6th grade, got dial up when I moved. Me and my best friend had fallen hardcore into the Sailor Moon dub when first watching it on TV in hotels in the aftermath of a major wildfire evacuation. We had our own Senshi OC, like you do, and everything. We picked Zodiac OCs at first, again pretty common. Anyway so we're googling around for info about S and the Japanese version, since  we're desperate to learn more. And I stumble across there's this massively sprawling Sailor Moon fanfic series called Sailor Moon Z, by @bailesu. I forget what ep it's on at the time, somewhere higher than 10. Anyway, I read all of it. I bookmark the page. I follow it as it slowly updates for years and years.

It finally finished in I think 2008, and my god, what a ride. I reread it every couple of years. It's charming and traditional to read the plain .txt version but god I wish the author would upload it to AO3 as a single work with all chapters as part of the same fic, so I could download an ePub or MOBI and read it on an eReader and not my screen.

I have definitely read episodes 1-17 at least 10 times each, and even the final eps have been read at least 5x.

C9: What show did you really try to watch, but you just couldn’t?

I'm trying to think of stuff I've really tried to watch...usually when I bounce off stuff I don't keep retrying. I'd say maybe Stargate Universe? I was excited for the concept, but I'd already loved Atlantis less than SG-1, and I bounced so incredibly hard off Universe. Otherwise maybe Agents of Shield, which I was excited for and liked while I was watching on a dorm floor with people but when I moved off I stopped watching. That was season 3?

Really, I have a problem watching shows alone, I can only watch things when watching with someone else, so...I need to co-watch, really, or shit ain't get done.

D2: Who/Where did you get your last fic rec from?

Often I get fic recs while browsing Tumblr and seeing ones suggested in people's posts where they go "omg read this". I don't remember what the last fic I read from a rec is, just that it prob came off Tumblr.

E: Easiest person to talk to - Hmm, not sure. My brother, or either of my two online friends that I’ve been talking to for years. One of them I’ve talked to since, honest to god, middle school. F: Favorite song - Uhh, not sure. I’ve been listening to Tinariwen’s music a lot recently? G: Grossest memory - My family won’t let me live this one down. When I was young I went to a restaurant that was apparently 4 stars. I wanted a sundae for dessert. I just kept eating it and eating it. My mom finally told me to quit it and save the rest for later. My dad took my brother and I to go to the car. While walking to the area where people were waiting to be seated, I pulled on my dad’s sleeve and kept saying ‘Dad, Dad...’ but he wasn’t paying attention. I then puked right in front of all the people waiting. Like right in the middle of the room. He grabbed me and we left, and when the rest of my family followed to the car, they said they didn’t see any kind of mess, but they did see a table that wasn’t there before. So the employees cleaned it up and just slapped a table over it to hide any stain. H: Horror yes or horror no - For the most part, no. I like body horror though!  I: In love - Ahahahahahaha no J: Jealous of people - I can be? Not to the point where it controls my life or nothing. K: Kiss number 1 - In like 7th or 8th grade, this kid named Billy Wetter, that I remembered since Elementary School was called Bed Wetter by people, asked me out. I was so surprised that someone would even do that because I had no self esteem that I said sure, even though I like never talked to him and he had a giant pizza face. I spent basically the whole nigh trying to avoid him but my friends didn’t get the message and kept pushing me to hang out with him. Then some cunt I don’t remember the name of kept badgering us to kiss, so we did. I skiddaddled as soon as my sister came to pick me up and when he tried to call me that weekend to attend some church thing with him, my mom vouched for me and said I wasn’t home. Then I just never talked to him again. I kinda feel bad now, but...  L: Love at first sight or should I walk by again - Unless you’re a cute animal, doesn’t matter how many times you walk by. M: Middle name - Christine, named after my aunt. N: Number of siblings - Four. Five of us total. It’s hell because none of these fucks ever move out so once I graduate I’m back to sharing a room until either I get the money to move out or my eldest sister finally buys a house with her fiance/boyfriend. They were like “Do you see all of that?” and My mom had no idea what they were showing her.
