People think there is a hard line between "drugs" and medicine and I think one of the facts that helped me to see beyond that line is that heroin (diamorphine) is regularly administered as pain relief in hospitals (at least here in the UK) (I don't think substances need to be medicine to validate their use but this fact is a often a good first step in unlearning the labels we prescribe to drugs)
Same with the big scary drug of the day, fetanyl! I know many people who have been prescribed it for pain after surgery. They were fine. Because no substance is evil. Water can kill you. Heroin can save you. The damage's in the dose. Thanks for sharing anon

🎵 Whirling in Rags, 8 AM
A fair number of votes for all options, but interviewing Klaasje immediately won out.
Tumblr media
DOOR, ROOM #3 - The door is closed.
Knock.
[Leave.]
DOOR, ROOM #3- "Who is it?" A woman's voice answers -- muffled by the door.
DRAMA [Medium: Success] - Tired. Controlled.
KIM KITSURAGI - "This is the police. Can we come in?"
DOOR, ROOM #3 - "Come on up -- the door is open!" She shouts: "I'm drying my hair..."
PERCEPTION (HEARING) [Medium: Success] - Sounds like it's coming from upstairs somewhere -- you could snoop around before going up...
Tumblr media
Piles of dirty clothes; a woman's.
Tumblr media
Hotel bill calculations. Looks like she's had an extended stay.
Tumblr media
This room has *Sad* all over it -- reminds you of your own.
Tumblr media
In the yard below, a corpse lies under the pine tree.
Tumblr media
MEDICINE CABINET - This medicine cabinet is full of wares -- sheets of pills haphazardly stacked one on top of the other. There's also a toothbrush somewhere in there.
Look at the toothbrush.
Look at the medications.
[Close the cabinet.]
MEDICINE CABINET - It's been used. Quite a lot.
PERCEPTION (SIGHT) [Challenging: Success] - But not for scrubbing blood off tiles -- or anything else interesting, it seems.
EMPATHY [Medium: Success] - This toothbrush belongs to someone who doesn't give a damn about her teeth.
2. Look at the medications.
MEDICINE CABINET - Pharmaceuticals line the shelves. Sheet upon sheet and pill bottle next to pill bottle: acetylic acid, APAP, eye drops, blood thinners...
Look at the toothbrush.
Look at the medications.
"There's quite the collection in here."
Search the bottles.
Search the pill sheets.
[Close the cabinet.]
KIM KITSURAGI - "Anything of note?" he asks in a lowered voice.
4. Search the bottles.
MEDICINE CABINET - Pill bottles rattle like bones as you search the cabinet: paracetamol, histaperidol, something in a foreign language you can't read... Behind them: an unusually shaped nasal spray. Its label reads 'NACRA'.
(Whisper.) "What's NACRA?"
Keep it to yourself.
KIM KITSURAGI - "An opioid receptor antagonist. It's used for diamorphine overdoses."
+5 XP
5. Search the pill sheets.
MEDICINE CABINET - Among some foreign -- probably Messinian, or Gottwaldian -- marked red blister packs you find... what *do* you find? This is going to take a little know-how.
Tumblr media
6. [Electrochemistry - Medium 10] Is there something more interesting here?
+1 Chemical hangover.
Tumblr media
ELECTROCHEMISTRY [Medium: Success] - A bright orange bottle with PREPTIDE stamped on it. In sunny, happy letters! Jackpot, baby! That's the stuff you're looking for! Your palms begin to sweat just holding that little plastic container.
What's so exciting about this orange bottle?
"Lieutenant, I also see a brand called Preptide."
[Interfacing - Medium 10] Take it -- in secret.
Just take it in plain sight.
[Close the cabinet.]
ELECTROCHEMISTRY - It's speed, man! Just what you were looking for. They call it *dextroamphetamine* and talk about psychological disorders, but what we're seeing here is some scientifically advanced trucker speed!

What song breaks your heart? : Going on 11 years of crying to this song regularly. here are the lyrics: https://songmeanings.com/songs/view/3530822107858976003/
youtube
What dead celebrity means the most to you? : I am unsure if I could choose Chuck Schuldiner but he is an incredibly important figure in the metal community as a whole. He died of a brain tumor in 2001 i believe? He recorded his last album during his battle and there is a song he wrote about fighting severe pain that isn’t visible to others, fighting it alone. One of my favorite lyricists and songwriters and an incredible man. Selena meant a lot to me during my childhood as well.
Do you believe in the occult? : not necessarily? I have other supernatural beliefs, but I’m not totally sure people can cast spells or perform rituals specifically.
What is your favorite drug? : My favorite drug is diamorphine aka heroin. Sober 4 years this august <3 kratom is indeed not a drug because you cannot get high on it! At most, it gives a buzz much like nicotine or coffee, but in this way you can develop a dependency, which I do have. I am also dependent on epilepsy meds and use both to treat chronic conditions I suffer from 👍
Where do you feel most at home? : hard question, I really don’t right now. I feel “at home” around those I love: @iminthetunnels , my dad, my brother, my daughter, and my old man
What do you carry with you always? : my iPad and my On! brand nicotine pouches LMFAO and if I’m going out, 2-3 diapers and wipes for the stink girl. That’s it
What’s your favorite moon phase? : new moon has always given me hope. Full moon makes me tense. I like any waxing moons after new moon because it reminds me of progress
Do you believe in luck? : absolutely! I believe myself to be an incredibly unlucky person, HOWEVER I have survived several NDEs. I believe in karma and balance. I believe that my death defying experiences are balanced by the fact that I never win anything and I so often encounter evil people
Do you believe in aliens? : I truly believe aliens are just angels :) not sure if i believe abduction stories
Thank you!

https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/labour-and-birth/what-happens/pain-relief-in-labour/
Gas and air (Entonox) for labour
This is a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide gas. Gas and air will not remove all the pain, but it can help reduce it and make it more bearable. It's easy to use and you control it yourself.
You breathe in the gas and air through a mask or mouthpiece, which you hold yourself. The gas takes about 15-20 seconds to work, so you breathe it in just as a contraction begins. It works best if you take slow, deep breaths.
there are no harmful side effects for you or the baby
it can make you feel lightheaded, sick, sleepy or unable to concentrate, but if this happens you can stop using it
If gas and air does not give you enough pain relief, you can ask for a painkilling injection as well.
Pethidine injections in labour
This is an injection of a medicine called pethidine into your thigh or buttock to relieve pain. It can also help you to relax. Sometimes, less commonly, a medicine called diamorphine is used.
It takes about 20 minutes to work after the injection. The effects last between 2 and 4 hours, so would not be recommended if you're getting close to the pushing (second) stage of labour.
it can make you feel woozy, sick and forgetful
if pethidine or diamorphine are given too close to the time of delivery, they may affect the baby's breathing – if this happens, another medicine to reverse the effect will be given
these medicines can interfere with the baby's first feed
Remifentanil
Remifentanil goes into a vein in your arm. You control it yourself by pushing a button.
It works quickly and wears off after a few minutes. You can use it up until your baby is born.
You’ll need a small clip on your finger to measure your oxygen levels, as remifentanil can make you feel breathless or need oxygen.
Remifentanil can make you feel sleepy, sick, dizzy or itchy. These stop once you stop taking the medicine.
Like pethidine, remifentanil can affect the baby’s breathing but this usually wears off quickly.
Entonox (gas and air) is a commonly-used pain killer in labour that can help take the edge off labour pain. It’s a colourless, odourless gas that you inhale through a mask or mouthpiece. Entonox is made up of nitrous oxide and oxygen and you may have also heard it called laughing gas. One of the advantages of Entonox is that you can use it alongside other pain relief, like pethidine or diamorphine. It can cause side effects though, like a dry mouth and nausea.
Entonox takes the edge off labour pain, rather than blocking it out. You may also find that it makes you feel light-headed and giggly. Entonox should be available wherever you choose to give birth, including birth centres and at home. Many hospitals have a central supply of Entonox, so it's available when you want it. If you're in a hospital or a birth centre without a central supply, or if you're having a home birth, your midwife can bring Entonox to you in portable cylinders.
Entonox is the most common method of pain relief used for labour. More than three quarters of people use it to help them cope during labour. You can have Entonox whenever you want in active labour. However, there is a limit to how long you can safely use it. So, it’s best not to start using Entonox until you really need it. Instead, try other things to divert your attention until you really do need extra pain relief. You could try breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, walking about, using a birth ball, or taking a warm bath.
You breathe gas and air in through an antibacterial filter using a mouthpiece or mask, which you hold yourself. The mask is made of a light, transparent plastic. The mouthpieces and filters are usually designed for one person to use, so you should be provided with a fresh set.
====
Thank you for all this. The point remains, all of these are regulated drugs that can only be administered to patients. Harry helping himself to the laughing gas is no laughing matter. Pun intended.

I am spending my Friday night in hospital because I just got circumcised. It’s so cold down there. Once I heal, I’m restoring my foreskin, I already miss it so much. Also, fuck you for being so pretty and boner inducing. I am sorry that was mean. I feel overconfident and invincible right now. I have a medicine called diamorphine being given in my medicine tube. I am okay. The nurse wants me to get off my phone and get some sleep. Bye
doctors hate them; anon figures out this simple hack for infinite foreskin

A heroin (diamorphine) or other opiate/opioid addict may use codeine to ward off the effects of withdrawal during periods where their preferred drug is unavailable or unaffordable.
Codeine is also available in conjunction with the anti-nausea medication promethazine in the form of a syrup. Brand named as Phenergan with Codeine or in generic form as promethazine with codeine, it began to be mixed with soft drinks in the 1990s as a recreational drug, called 'syrup', 'lean', or 'purple drank'. Rapper Pimp C, from the group UGK, died from an overdose of this combination.
Codeine is used in illegal drug laboratories to make morphine.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Singapore conducted its first execution of a woman in 19 years on Friday and its second hanging this week for drug trafficking despite calls for the city-state to cease capital punishment for drug-related crimes.
Activists said another execution is set next week.
Saridewi Djamani, 45, had been sentenced to death in 2018 for trafficking nearly 31 grams (1.09 ounces) of diamorphine, or pure heroin, the Central Narcotics Bureau said. Its statement said the amount was “sufficient to feed the addiction of about 370 abusers for a week.”
Singapore’s laws mandate the death penalty for anyone convicted of trafficking more than 500 grams (17.64 ounces) of cannabis and 15 grams (0.53 ounces) of heroin.
Djamani’s execution came two days after that of a Singaporean man, Mohammed Aziz Hussain, 56, for trafficking around 50 grams (1.75 ounces) of heroin.
The narcotics bureau said both prisoners were accorded due process, including appeals of their conviction and sentence and petition for presidential clemency.
Human rights groups, international activists and the United Nations have urged Singapore to halt executions for drug offenses and say there is increasing evidence it is ineffective as a deterrent. Singapore authorities insist capital punishment is important to halting drug demand and supply.
Human rights groups say it has executed 15 people for drug offenses since it resumed hangings in March 2022 , an average of one a month.
Anti-death penalty activists said the last woman known to have been hanged in Singapore was 36-year-old hairdresser Yen May Woen, also for drug trafficking, in 2004.
Transformative Justice Collective, a Singapore group which advocates for the abolishment of capital punishment, said a new execution notice has been issued to another prisoner for Aug, 3 — the fifth this year alone.
It said the prisoner is an ethnic Malay citizen who worked as a delivery driver before his arrest in 2016. He was convicted in 2019 for trafficking around 50 grams (1.75 ounces) of heroin, it said. The group said the man had maintained in his trial that he believed he was delivering contraband cigarettes for a friend he owed money and he didn’t verify the contents of the bag as he trusted his friend.
Although the court found he was merely a courier, the man still had to be given the mandatory death penalty, it said. The group “condemns, in the strongest terms, the state’s bloodthirsty streak” and reiterated calls for an immediate moratorium on the use of the death penalty.
Critics say Singapore’s harsh policy merely punish low-level traffickers and couriers, who are typically recruited from marginalized groups with vulnerabilities. They say Singapore is also out of step with the trend of more countries moving away from capital punishment. Neighboring Thailand has legalized cannabis while Malaysia ended the mandatory death penalty for serious crimes this year.

The pink petals from the trees fall a blizzard of apocalypse snow
Gather all the Earth doesn't want and the scavengers despise
Build bowers to long dead lovers
Alters to victims of deicide
Chant the names of the last prophets
Benzodiazepine,Diamorphine,Clozapine
Roll up the death deed and insurance plan
Remember the rite to bring fire to life
Heat, fuel, and the ability to breathe
