Headcanon: Instead of the "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" saying being Lunarian, it's a Solarian saying

I mean, think about it. The Lunari obviously think the Moon is beautiful. So making such a common statement be translated to "I love you" would be strange. Like, imagine two Lunarians looking up at the Moon and one of them says that saying, while their intention was to praise the Moon. Awkward, wouldn't it be?

So, maybe, it's a Solarian saying.

The Moon isn't their body of worship, so of course the saying wouldn't mean as much to them as _literally_ as it would to the Lunari. So, they made it a secret metaphor in the Solari culture.

Like, the backstory would be: Back when the Solari and Lunari lived together peacefully, a Solarian liked a Lunarian. But, maybe they were too shy about it, and, to be safe, they said to the Lunarian, "The Moon is beautiful, isn't it?"

Of course, the Lunarian didn't notice much because, of course the Moon is beautiful. It's within their religion. It's a common fact. So, they agreed, not thinking much of it. The Solarian, on the other hand, meant it in another way.

'I love you.'

Not sure how the metaphor spread throughout the Solari, but it did. And then, eventually, it became the Solari's secret saying towards the Lunari whenever a Solarian liked a Lunarian.
