I am grateful for:
My body, mind and soul
My family and friends
The sun and nature earth gave me
My home
Food and water
God and my faith in the universe
My passion for all the things I do and have in life
My ability to love and trust and my belief in the good.
The necessary and luxurious material things.
My health and the beauty I see in myself and people around me.

Diaries
I have often asked this question and have got answers in the same line of…to express ourselves…to keep something about the past as a memory.
And there are never truer statements than these. Why else would we flip through the pages of a old diary admiring our handwriting and blushing at our childishness?
Often diaries not only contain our daily events and secrets but writing of various sorts. People write their days’ events in the form of poems and write speeches in their diary. Who knew that this small habit of diary writing could nurture the writer in us, even more than English classes!
Diary writing is known to be one of the healthiest habits for people of all ages. Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you analyse yourself better and you can discover things about yourselves that you did not know before.
Once, I had someone tell me-‘what you cannot say, you write…’ and isn’t that exactly what a diary is? It will sit there patiently, not complaining about you. It won’t tell you to stop. Angry at someone, write it down; very happy, write it down.
Diary writing helps you keep a balance and not tilt away to one side. It is therapy, that too for free and you can do it in your way.
In fact, a diary need not only be writing. You could draw. The margins of our textbook and last pages of our notebooks are also a form of diaries.
Diaries de-stress us and amaze our present selves with our past ones. Diary writing is present from ancient times. Travelogues are present to support the statement. However, it is up to the present generations to continue the tradition of writing in a world that is dependent on typings!
