“We trade trauma for wisdom…it deepens our eyes.”
Cole Sprouse
Listen to what he says about our culture of sensationalism at around the 24:20 mark and consider the damage that specific mentality of extremes has caused many innocent people in the entertainment industry via celebrity gossip news and social media.
It seems that few people these days are interested in knowing the human being behind the famous name; they want to know only about the paragons of virtue and the absolute monsters, so that’s what celebrity gossip gives them, with no room whatsoever for anything in between those two extremes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Listen also to what he says about custody with regard to his parents. Sometimes it’s the fathers who are better equipped mentally and emotionally to raise children.
Ignore this sensationalist headline, ignore the previous weird interview elsewhere in which he smokes a cigarette indoors, and all that sort of nonsense. Give Cole Sprouse a shot at convincing you that he’s one of the most insightful and thought-provoking people who’s ever sat down for a conversation with Steven Bartlett on Diary of a CEO.

We are all addicts searching for ways to feel less pain through drugs, porn, screens and money, whatever our vices might be, but maybe, just maybe, Russell is right, maybe there is a simple cure for all of us right there in plain sight."

I've been watching a lot of interviews on a YouTube channel called The Diary of a CEO with Steve Bartlett.
I've been quite surprised to see that many of these CEOs become extremely depressed after reaching a certain level of success. This is because, in many cases, it means the journey is over!
This has been such a great reminder for me to enjoy the journey of building my channel...

2024 Planning
I started planning for 2024 today. I’ve learned a lot this year, made mistakes, had some successes and now it’s time to take all my learnings, good or bad, and go to the next level.
I prefer starting next year’s routine from 2023’s November and December so that by the time January rolls around, I’m settled into the routine. If there’s any revisions necessary, I can do them without starting my new year on the wrong foot.
I maintain my goals on mostly short and medium term basis. This includes daily, weekly and quarterly planning (I don’t do monthly because it doesn’t work for me).
This may seem complicated (actually, it looks more complicated than it is but it’s just what helps me) but let me show you how exactly I do things.
I keep two diaries. One for daily and weekly and one for quarterly. I have a habit tracker on my phone for my daily non-Negotiables (exercise, meditation, reading and language).
The quarterly diary is my big big diary. Every quarter, it lists out all the big plans, what i want to do and who i want to be. It’s all the messy thoughts I have, all my dreams, my weaknesses, my strengths, etc etc. The only “practical” part of the diary is that there is one general plan made at the end of my mad scribbling. It has the general idea, feedback I’ve received from other people and compilation of all the advice I’ve gotten from my mentors.
2. The daily - weekly diary breaks the plan into manageable bits. I write out the week’s plan (who do i need to meet, who do i need to follow up with, any major presentation coming up, any assignment, what am i reading this week) and write a one sentence daily update on it.
I can’t use a habit tracker for this because i’m not tracking meditation or exercise on here. I’m tracking my career goals, my ambitious goals, into smaller goals. A habit tracker wouldnt cut it because I would have to elaborate more on certain things.
For example:
“20-27th Nov: Weekly list
budget presentation on Monday
1 event to attend on Tuesday. Topic: XYZ
Reading: the inheritors
reach out to mentor, schedule a meeting
7 language essays and 7 videos
Monday, 20th Nov.
work presentation: complete.
Feedback received: i need to work on XYZ.
points they raised that didnt cross my mind: XYZ
follow ups required and if yes, with who: XYZ
reading: complete. Interesting point they brought up: XYZ
essay for the day: complete.
Video complete:
Tuesday, 21st Nov
mentor meeting scheduled
event went well. Met: A, B, C who work in XYZ companies. Follow up with them next week for coffee/ drinks.
essay: complete
video: complete”
Having two diaries helps me because i can find my bigger goals without having to go through the daily entry mess. I like having the two separate.
Nov ‘23 + Dec ‘23 + Q1 2024’s goals include:
Social (meeting new people, maintaining networks)
Intellectual (biographies, documentaries, industry reports)
Personal (soft skills, language studies)
Work (presentations, courses, conferences)
A major change I’ve making this year is actively working on every single weakness I have that I know is a potential strength. I’m ignoring weaknesses that I know are 100% weaknesses like coding because there’s just no way I can sit in front of a computer and learn all that, it’s absolutely not my cup of tea and does not make me happy.
I made a list of every single weakness i have and I’m embarrassed about and ashamed of. 2024 is the year of NO shame. I’m not letting my intrusive thoughts win.
Next to each weakness I wrote out a potential solution.
Ex: not picking up the language i’m studying as fast as i want to -> write 1 short essay and a 1-2 minute video of me talking about anything in that language every single day
I’m not allowing any unnecessary negative self doubt or self talk happen. Constructive criticism is one thing, being a bitch to yourself is another. I plan to learn a lot next year.
I’ve created a manageable exposure therapy plan for myself - I aim to meet 3 new people every month and follow up with 5 new connections every month, whether it’s over chat or irl.
I’ve made a list of business biographies I’m going to read. This year I reached my reading target earlier than anticipated which I’m very happy about. Next year I’m focusing on books that are solely about business, technology and psychology.

Episode 9: everyone thinks Director Seo is infatuated with Dong-sik
Video description: one of Dong-sik's coworkers tells him that he needs to be appreciated by his superiors, right before Dong-sik gets a called from Director Seo, who wants to get dinner with him at his father's restaurant. Everyone watches as he leaves to take the call. In the next scene, Dong-sik's father boasts about his meat, before the other members of the family come to compliment Director Seo, before Dong-sik insists that they leave.

A Suicide Note from Mistress Jamie
Hello darlings,
I fear that I have some bad news to share. The time has come that I need to put myself and this blog to bed. To fall asleep gently, with pretty poison pills and beautiful white flowers in my dark hair.
Tucked into my soft bed, naked under a favorite duvet. You, dear submissive on my mind as I doze off into an everlasting scene of pure bliss and happiness. ❤️
Not to worry, this writer has no intention of leaving this physical world, I will continue on but barely a few know by what actual name. While I will always be a Dominant, my desire to dominate has shifted and changed into something else. Different than what this blog represents. So, along with Mistress Jamie, this will blog will end. ❤️

January 2023 Recap
Goals Post
Hits:
Career
- I attended that really prestigious networking conference I wanted to.
- I launched my start-up event and it went well.
- I’ve committed to my newsletter (1x week = 4x month), Uncultured.
- I’m working on a local mentoring business with my friend, to be launched in March.
Charity
- I found a tiny underprivileged school that I’m going to be working with. I’m still debating what I can offer to them and where I can help.
Personal growth
- I read 3 books
- I did an online course on Vastu, the ancient science of architecture, as I’m intrigued by Vedic sciences. I was initially going to do a course on emotional intelligence, but I’ve decided to renovate my room completely and I felt that the Vastu course would be more relevant. I’m going to be delving deeper in ancient sciences as well - I want to sign up for Ayurveda (herbal medicine) courses next, and then Vedic Maths.
- I have been consistent with my brain games (I play this short mental math game everyday)
Beauty
- Got the spa day I needed
Health
- I’ve limited my junk food intake to almost zero this month (just one night, but I chose aglio olio pasta with lots of veggies), despite socialising nearly every weekend. I also managed to stop myself at the exact amount of drinks I wanted to - 2 to be precise - and I’m glad I did that. I’ve been drinking green juices and soups religiously. Weirdly enough, even though I barely worked out this month, my weight dropped by a kilo, and so did my waist measurement, by like an inch.
Misses:
Health
- Working out. I fell sick majority of this month with a bad flu, then just as I got better, I got the most excruciatingly painful period. 10/10 to my body. I only managed to work out towards the end of the month.
Career
- I missed 2 virtual seminars I wanted to attend so badly because of the flu. They were scheduled at 3:30 am for me because it was an international event, so I literally couldn’t attend it. This was, unfortunately, unavoidable.
Personal Growth
- Meditation consistently and consecutively. The only excuse here is the lack of discipline. I hate that I fell off the track.
Lessons Learnt:
1. Stick to my schedule. I can plan well, but I need to be more consistent.
2. Waking up early has been a boon.
3. Double check everything that I write/ receive at work. I can be careless at times.
4. I tend to forget things if I don’t note it down. I still forget to note down 30% of the things I have to do and then I recall it at a time when it’s not appropriate.
5. The habit tracker helps a LOT.
6. Meditating in the morning after showering but before my breakfast is the most convenient way to stack that habit.
