The creators apparently confirmed it as 100% canon in a Q&A, saying that he really tries to not think about it because the subject makes him uncomfortable. Also, they made sure to clarify that it has nothing to do with the supernaturally stuff... I am being vague on that because Im only on 41 and have no idea wtf is going to happen to him for them to say that and I am scared lol. I have a bad feeling this is gonna end in tragedy...
