RWBY Ship Headcannons #74: Arculus Rift

God, Jaune is the sweetest guy. He'll leave little post-its for Penny to just say he hopes she has a nice day. He always makes her breakfast even if he wakes up after her. He's a very affectionate partner.

Penny has little memory lapses every so often, so she and Jaune both write memos on each other's skin. The most common one - and one they eventually get tattooed - is 'You're perfect as you are'.

She has his coffee order memorized to a tee.

Despite all the romantic shit he does, Jaune cannot handle being pampered without blushing like a maniac. Penny buys him a gift and suddenly he's all red and stuttering. His teammates think its adorable, and Penny thinks he's precious.

If they see something that reminds them of each other, they HAVE to get it immediately.

He cuts her hair. Pretty regularly, and he's very gentle about it.

Meanwhile she braids his! They're messy but she's getting better and more coordinated thanks to the practice.

the narrative gameplay design of is3 vs is4 is really good

i really like it. its driving me insane.

we've all played is3 right. here's the gist of is3: the ocean is treacherous and cruel and ever-changing. there is something with you in the water and you can not see it, you can't even sense it properly- you see flashes of what it is and it is so, so much more incomprehensible than you.

you can stock up well in is3. hell, you can stock up REALLY well- you can get dozens of collectibles and hit all the right operators and you might roll 1s the entire way down.

because is3 is based on helplessness.

is3 is a scenario where your fate is determined by the roll of a die. you will grit your teeth and sigh as you get hit with the worst random debuff available and be like well. nothing i could do there! certainly there are choices that can be made, strategic advances and whatnot, but the ocean is what decides this for you. you are helpless to the ocean's whims.

in fact- there is certainly something comforting in helplessness! it makes the terrifying a little less terrifying. the yoke of responsibility is lifted from you!

is4 is not that.

is4 there is something with you in the mountains and it is just out of view. is4 it is gritty and unchanging and uncompromising. is4 says: here is what is in front of you. there is no chance here.

is4 gives you the terror of choice.

is4 says hey. there's the boss on this floor but you have 1 life point remaining and there's an emergency node up next, do you spend a foldartal now to get a buff or risk the wait? there's a trader node right below you but if you spend it your equipment will be damaged and maybe you'll need that down the line? either way you are making a choice.

you can see what is in here with you. you can grab it by the scruff of the neck and you can say Screw You You Are Going To Have 50% Less HP In This Node And I Will Have +50 ASPD Whether You Like It Or Not.

but it can do the same. you're not in a lush, terrifying ecosystem of the ocean, you are in a barren and frozen mountain. you are getting less collectibles you're getting less hope you've got less resources and more enemies and is4 says okay, yeah, you can shoot me.

but you only have one bullet. and you need to choose to pull the trigger.

I have 3d printed some very special dice

It's a D1. It only has one possibility.

For when things are certain.

Although, thinking about it, usually 1 is the number people don't want to get, what they want is a 20.

So I also made this

#joke dice #3d printing #3d printing adventures #dice #this was based on the one advertised on curiosity box which are all out of stock and i didn't want to wait #hand painted and a bit rough but they work #my machine is an fdm printer which is less suitable for the smaller end of things and i wanded these to be small #so they could blend in with other dice #i carefully adjusted the number size and position for balance and clarity #but imperfections in my printing means a little cleaning up was still needed #i kinda want to try more weird dice shapes #this was part of a present for a friend so this has been scheduled for after the party in the odd chance that she visits Tumblr before then #the only practical use i think is for expressing certainty (with perhaps just a bit of sarcasm). #'for that i need you to roll a D1' #'I'm going to roll D1 to see if they attack you' #etc

Any headcannons for SilentKnight(Neo x Jaune)?

RWBY Ship Headcannons #68: Silent Knight

Jaune brings home takeout from his late-running Huntsman missions. His favourite kind is Thai and Neo's is Indian, they both handle their spices very well despite Jaune being...y'know, Jaune.

If she knows he'll get home later than her, Neo will hide in any place she can fit. Being tiny, this is a lot of places! Most of the time she does this to try and make Jaune find her, but sometimes she'll just tuck away and then pop out to scare him. This works every single time to her continued amazement.

They communicate in texts exclusively in emoticons.

Despite sleeping very lightly, Neo takes up the majority of the bed space. Like a neapolitan starfish.

Jaune gets a LOT of migraines, mostly from stress. Neo somehow knows exactly where to press on his wrists and temples to relieve the pain, or she can get strong pain relief meds. Truly his saving grace.
