YEEHAW for the ask game‼️‼️ what is your favorite poem/lyric and why?

hmmm. extremely hard question Well i am very fond of the lyric "shes gotta lotta legs / just like a centipede!" as seen in my blog header from several iterations of everybody hates the eagles by my chemical romance. i think it's a very good sequence of words and i enjoy saying it to myself/listening to it being played. also a big fan of "i'm a sex machine, ready to reload / like an atom bomb / i'm gonna oh, oh, oh, oh oh explode!" from don't stop me now by queen because it makes me happy and energizes me. aside from those which were the first ones that came to mind theres a lot of lyrics i like - mcr and nine inch nails and system of a down all have a lot of lyrics i like a lot but tbh i don't listen to music for the lyrics really so i only catch on to specific lyrics i like if ive listened to the song a ton or if the vocals are very clear and enunciated and on the slower side

theres also a lot of lyrics that i think are just straight fun to say for example "i bark / he bites back / a jaw like a fuck-off bear trap" or "a dulcet man / with a dulcet tone / from a dulcet town / in a dulcet home" both from never fight a man with a perm by IDLES. that whole song has a lot of fun to say lyrics tbh. and then theres lyrics that i just think are fun/funny - "eating seeds as a pastime activity" from toxicity by soad, "we used to be very tall buildings" from war all the time by thursday, "drugs, suck it up, like vanilla icies / don't treat me rough, treat me really niceyss" from cola by lana del ray, and "world trade! / second plane! / what else do we have to say!" from fall out boy's cover of we didn't start the fire.

OH also the entire third verse from yoshi's island by glass beach ("theyll make it so dangerous / when they leave no room to breathe in the space they carved out for us / when they get inside your head, leave you white lies and black eyes / when they try to change your shape until your sense of self dies / but you make me feel like i'm out of my body / we ran out of words to say we're hopelessly lonely / so don't leave the city, please don't leave the covers too / stay right here babe, let's live life like lovers do'') because i really like the way she sings it and it makes me happy. honestly glass beach also has a lot of really good lyrics!

and well for poems i really like hope is the thing with feathers by emily dickinson it was my favorite poem as a kid and i can still recite it from memory. i just think it's a really nice poem and i like saying it out loud to myself. i like emily dickinson's poetry in general too! there's definitely other poems i enjoy but i'm blanking right now. i need to read more poetry to be honest

Hello! I'm Izzy and I write. This is a blog where I ramble about it. My Ao3 handle is Ryellee and I like & follow from my main blog @seventhscorpio.

What you can expect here are musings, woes, sub-par advice, journalist liveblogging, and ADHD writing hacks. I'm not a native English speaker (I'm Polish), which is an adventure in itself because it makes writing for an international audience like jumping through a whole 'nother set of hoops.
