Ikevamp bois playing modern games part 2
Vincent
Vincent is way into.. gartic phone
Qnd perhaps skribble.io
Like way into it
He would sit down 12 hours in front of the computer and guess what HES BEEN PLAYING GARTIC PHONE AND SKRIBBLE.IO IN A LOBBY OF RANDOMS
12 HRS IN HES STILL NOT DONE WITH BOTH GAMES
Hed obv speedrun a drawing in a short period of time and manage to make it look *chefs kiss*
Imagine if skribble.io had a vc feature tho
No no, like imagine if people were actually toxic in this goofy ahh game
They would yell down vincent down the mic telling him to go play with photoshop
Randoms are salty that vincent can draw and portray even the most ridicilous prompts which results him with the highest score always
Not to mention hes really good at guessing even the shittiest drawimgs from other ppl
"Broer how- that persons drawing looks ridicilous, even arthur's dog could draw that"
"Don't be mean theo! I could guess the drawing from the emotional connection i felt from it"
Jean
Jean has a shitty brick nokia phone
And he really loves playing snake II
No im serious
Well i suppose momte doesnt trust him with any other phones than that
the last time he was given a smartphone he downloaded some hack and slash game
took the word slash literally and then proceeded to cut the phone into two
comte was too stunned to speak
momte didn’t want his kids to miss out on gadgets but he cant have jean destroying his smartphone
BINGO! a nokia 3310 it is!
jean didnt know how to react at first, but he found it easier to navigate and thats when he found out baout snake II
found it a bit pointless at first but despite saying that, he doesnt realize that thats the only thing he does besids fencing
snake II is his pre workout
the only thing he will be doing before his fencing practice
before meals
and before bed
‘‘jean are you sure you haven’t had enough of snake II..?’‘ comte asked causiously as he never know how his son Jean would react
jean looked at comte and stayed silent for a hot minute
‘‘no’‘
Napoleon
OK FLASH BACK TO MY E BOY NAPOLEON FANART FROM 2021
its official
He plays league of legends
Napoleon is deffo a jungle/top main
Jungle preferabbly
Bros actually cracked coz hed turn any non meta champs into an absolute beast
I see him being especially good with pantheon jungle
Hed play league with jean tbh
And jean would be a dedicated top
But i dont see jean being the best player..
No, like imagine napoleon defending jean from "top troll" and getting spammed "?" On his lane
Napo would literally go to that persons lane just to steal their minion last hits
If hes feeling extra hed even use pantheons ult to yeet over to that player to ks all the minions on that person's lane 😭
"Jgl troll gg"
Ok napo is actually not toxic and is rly nice to play with
Hed even supp for you if ur learning a new champ
Hes only toxic to people who are toxic to his buddies
Comte
Ill be honest
Comte looks like someone who would download all games from every ad pop up he gets
And im talking about anything gacha related
He does not care whether the game is explicit or not as long as he can collect pretty characters
Is he interested in the gameplay??? Probably not.
"For what reason did you spend $$$$$$ on xxx game???" Leonardo asked as he scrolled through comte's in game billings, cocking an eyebrow
"Hm? Well i simply wanted to collect all of these lovely looking characters."
"Without leveling up your characters?"
"Non"
"Do you understand how to play this game?"
Comte only looked at him with his unwavering smile
"honestly this is the most ridicilous spending ive witness from you, heh" Leo snorted
"Much appreciated, but i dont recal asking for any input, old friend" comte retorted
Leo looked at him and sighed
"Honestly at this point i shouldn't be surprised"
.
.
This took me forever to upload because i coulndn't figure what type of game comte would play then one day i was like AHAAAAA
Also i didn't proof read as always so pls dont chop my head off :"))

Weekly Tag Wednesday
Thanks for the tags @deedala and @jrooc. 🖤
Name: Sam.
Age: Older than Cam, younger than Noel.
First Pet? Buck, a black, long-haired cat who lived to be 23. 🐈‍⬛
First Word? I just tried to ask my parents...
Tumblr media
First Celebrity Crush? So JTT seems like a common denominator among a bunch of us... Also Devon Sawa (I basically wore out the VHS of Wild America at my grandparents' house) and AJ from the Backstreet Boys.
First IRL Crush? Calin, my grade 4 "boyfriend." Also still randomly have dreams about him once in a while despite not having seen him in like 20+ years. What does it meeeean???
First kiss? This is so sad, but I actually don't remember. Probably one of my friends during Truth or Dare.
First Car? I spent my hard-earned cash working at A&W on this monstrosity my friends nicknamed "Hot Thunder." Smh. All I know is shame.
Tumblr media
First apartment/house/dorm/whatever away from your parents? This tiny little house we rented that had bright orange 70s-era flower power wallpaper in one of the rooms. I'll spare you the picture, but nightmare inducing.
First time on a plane? Going to Cancun with my parents when I was 3.
First cellphone? Nokia 3310, I think. I just remember playing the snake game. 🐍
First concert? Rod Stewart. Thanks, mom. Lol.
First Foreign country you visited? Probably the US, but definitely Mexico when I was 3.
First sport you ever played? First team sport was softball, but I did a bunch of other shit even before that (ballet, swimming, figure skating). I was so athletic, I have no idea what happened lol.
First career aspiration? I went through a weird marine biology phase before I probably even understood what a biologist was.
And finally… tell me about the first time you wrote/drew/created/whatever something that made you think "wow": Feeling pride in my own work? Ew. But I guess my MA dissertation if only because it was 5 times as long as anything I had ever written before, and I didn't think I could do that.
Giving a little boopity boop to some homies. @gallapiech @lingy910y @krysmiss @mickittotheman @energievie @whaticameherefor @wehangout @callivich @camnoelgallavich @depressedstressedlemonzest @sam-loves-seb @sluttymickey
EDIT: My mom just texted to say she thinks "Buck" was my first word. 🥺🥺 But also that I couldn't always pronounce it right, so maybe my dad wasn't too far off with "fuck." 🤣

oh you know I’m going with
23. what's a good omens headcanon that you considered canon?
Tumblr media
23. funnily enough, my bf and i were talking about this one a couple of days ago, all because of this:
Tumblr media
apple was created etc, crowley nearly laughed himself sick over the logo, and he's been an iOS girlie ever since
aziraphale does in fact have a mobile (screenshot says 'Work'), and does know how to use it, but just prefers not to. likely because he doesnt want crowley to have the satisfaction. he has a nokia 3310 buried in a drawer in his desk, and admittedly did like using it but only for snake 2
crowley's battery bar is set permanently at 66% bc that's the kinda shit he does
14. i recommended this to beloved mari @sabotage-on-mercury and it was my first amv but i will never not hear crowley in the lyrics now:
good omens ask game!

MAG 166 Relisten
Activity on my first listen: cutting the Kolkwitzia amabilis in my garden.
MARTIN: "What happened back there? What you did to Sa–" [HE CUTS HIMSELF OFF.] [A PAUSE.] JON: "Go on. Say it." Oh no. Oh god, does Jon think that Martin thinks it was his fault that Sasha died?
HELEN: "Oh, goodness. You see what you’ve done to the poor boy, John? He’s coming to me for clear answers." Oh Helen really knows how to get under one's skin.
HELEN: (giggle) "It’s very satisfying though, isn’t it? Teasing out vague information? You see why Elias got a kick out of it." Oh fuuuck, and now she's comparing him to Elias? Jon really is straight up not having a good time..
TMA usually is super vague, but I'm actually happy we got an explanation how the smiting works. Does sound plausible, I’d say. But also, this explanation about there only being watcher and watched should have got Martin's gears to turn. They are not victims of a domain. So they have to be watchers.
MARTIN: "Sure. Okay, that’s – I mean, that’s really not that complicated, John; I don’t see why you were being so coy about it –" JON: (overlapping) "Because I’m ashamed, Martin." [SLIGHT PAUSE.] MARTIN: "Ashamed?!" JON: "Yes! Ashamed of the fact that I just – destroyed the world and have been rewarded for it, the fact that – I can walk safe through all this horror I’ve created like a… fucking tourist, destroying whoever I please. The fact that I… enjoyed it, and… the fact that there are so many others that I want to revenge myself on!" Why does everything in TMA feel so natural!! There is so much bad and boring writing out there, every time something very logical happens it makes me super excited xD  So yap. It's super understandable that he's ashamed of all of this. Especially since we know how he actually feels about this revenging stuff. His anger says “do it!”, but his logic says “It’s not gonna do anything”..
MARTIN: "…No; No, I actually think you’re good on that front." JON: "What?" MARTIN: "Yeah, I, I, I think we should go for it, get our murder on!" Martin, when he only remotely tastes power xD
MARTIN: "f you want to stop them and have the power to, then – then, then yeah, let’s do it, let’s go full Kill Bill!" JON: "I – I, I haven’t seen it." Laughed so hard at this xD Of course he is deflecting.
HELEN: "Oh, Martin, I am so proud of you. Can I come?" JON & MARTIN: (in unison) "No." HELEN: "So that’s a strong “maybe” then?" Asgdsdfjkdf, Helen can also be so funny! One of those characters I hate and love!
MARTIN: "Do you need anything?" [JON EXHALES.] JON: "No." Love that Martin checks in with him there. He has been a bit dismissive of Jon's feelings about this whole situation.
Yeah, that statement does nothing to me, neither terror nor excitement. As far as I understand it, it's more about the financial part of the Buried. About the pressure of the society we live in, ever trapped in bullshit jobs with only ever a glint of the prospect of escape and there is no use in fighting others like us (that second worm part) cause if we win against them, we’re stuck exactly where we were before.
"The rains fall here as they do so many places in this new world. Thick and oily drops that taste of bitter salt, torrential tears plummeting from the watching sky, thumping and squelching onto the thirsty soil in which the worms writhe painfully towards a surface that does not want them." That is a gross image!
"How do you fight, when you cannot move beyond the slowest inching crawl, without limbs or weapons or the kinetic force of violence? You do it slowly, pressing, biting, tearing gradually through each other until at the very end, one of you is still." There is a very horrifying animatic of this part of the statement, it's called "The Worms (Magnus Archives Fan Animation)”.
JON: "God, I hate the Buried." Mh, he was there once...
That phone's got to be a Nokia 3310, right? XD It is the Nokia ringtone after all!
ANNABELLE: "He’s more powerful here than he’s ever been, isn’t he? And you’re not sure what that means for you." [THE BRIEFEST OF PAUSES. MARTIN INHALES SHAKILY.] MARTIN: "I’m hanging up now." ANNABELLE: "Does he even need you at all?" That part about "you're not sure what that means for you" is actually something I could relate to. Especially in a relationship this young and under extremely high stress levels. Shared trauma and being in the same life-threatening situation can create incredibly strong bonds. Being in that same boat. But how life-threatening is it actually for them? Aside from his guilt and post trauma, Jon is very much fine in this new world. Still, not sure what Annabelle wanted to achieve with this, she does mention it to have been "clumsy", so yeah.
[THE PREVIOUSLY-HOWLING THINGS IN THE BURIED – LIKELY THE WORMS FAR BELOW – HOWL AGAIN, INSISTENTLY.] MARTIN: "I know, right?" Adflkdhfs, this episode has some great comedy!

17/02/2024 - Nokia 3310 Game Jam Beginning
Tumblr media
Today was the first day of the jam!
What I have done:
I've had a brainstorming session
I've done some research about my ideas
I've gathered some feedback from some friends of mine that are also into game development
I've began doing the sprites on Aseprite (even though I'm not very good at it)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The theme of this Game Jam is Freeze! and after a bit of thinking, note taking, and researching online, I decided to implement the theme in multiple ways.
So, essentially, I've taken some inspiration from the way certain creatures (like bunnies and rodents) react towards predators - by using the freeze stress reaction! Then I took it in the literal sense and ran with it.
So, what did I plan?
A 2D game side-scroller where an artic bunny (with freeze related powers) evades flying predators to get back to its burrow!
Tumblr media
I decided to keep it simple enough, but based on the feedback I've gotten, I have to be very aware of multiple things.
Due to the limits with the space, as well as how Nokia 3310 was made (and the game uses the aesthetic of it), I have to be really careful about the design of the player, and the enemy. I was able to make some bunny sprites that I can use (though I should improve on them), but I'm struggling with finding a proper design for the enemy. I don't wanna make it too big.
I need to see how I can make the bunny react. besides freezing in place. So far with that, I've been told to maybe use something time-freezing related or to knockback the enemy, so the game would be appealing to more players, but I don't want to lose the essence of the freezing theming that I've planned out. The only way I will be sure is to think how to make it work, implement it, and playtest it with other people (and then rinse and repeat the process).
Tomorrow, I'm gonna begin assembling something, and (hopefully) have some sort of a prototype.
I'll keep you updated!
Over and Out,
The Creature

Okay so lets talk about how absolutely down right hillarious (to me at least which is all that matters) Executor is during this event and the event's potrayal of him-
-Spoilers for Guiding Ahead(?)-
Let me preface this by saying that he's not trying to be funny! He's just so hardass that its funny! Nokia 3310 blushed when it saw him because while its a brick it can't really compare to our favourite terminator, whose first words might as well be a line of C code.
To understand him its VERY simple his prority is:
- Law
- Protocol
- You're his boss and protocol states to be cordial
The law, however, vastly outstrips the things below it; If you're obstructing his ability to carry out his duty to the law then he'll exercise his right to disregard your position to uphold it. He DOES NOT care that you are his superior. If you broke the law you're going into the slammer- if it was against the law to like Cactus tarts he would've dragged the pope down to the slammer if he had to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The dude doesn't even have time to use the art of Kalt'sitese(TM) Executor just goes that's not a yes, which means....its a no! And its very cute that he asks like this by the by- he does the equivalent of "Hello good sir did you smuggle cocaine into the country? If you did in accordance to the law I must ask that you follow me down to the office"-
-and he expects them to comply. That's because that's something he would do. I stated the laws please respond.
By the way did I mention the 'if' part? That's right. He wasn't sure. The arrest of this legatus versus the arrest of Oren is VASTLY different in tone- that's because Oren is 100% busted when he went to hunt for him but for this one? he had No concrete proof. Nil. Nada. But he's determined to bring them in because if you're not completely innocent then you're guilty of Something (source: just trust me bro)
This is also NOT the first instance of source: just trust me bro during the event- the first instance was actually at the beginning of the event with the introduction of Cecelia. Federico's first line is his request for entry.
Tumblr media
But his second scene is him being in the room. (We later find that he was confronting her for potentially being involved with a sarkaz which was his grounds for investigation). Cecelia would not open the door for a suspicious man asking for entry- and to cement that fact the narration had her hiding under the chair when Executor was in the room with him being none the wiser.
What did that mean?
He broke in without permission.
The narrative does not show Executor as he's absolutely wrecking havoc while going through the grapevine. He arrested a Legatus for peeps sake- that's an official delegate stamp approved by the Pope! People see him crashing though windows and if you know even a tiny bit about the Notarial Hall's executors then you would have Definitely Heard About Him.
And the cherry on the cake? He wasn't even here for Cecelia or the fact that Oren and Andoain was plotting something during the summit. His appearance was for something completely different entirely, he was on a damn vacation! This wasn't a mission of his!He was really vital to cornering Oren in all of this but its portrayed like he's on a sidequest- all his scenes was him trying to arrest people! He just happened to be caught up in this hoo-ha trying to catch the person that MIGHT have a lead on the fugitive he was tracking.
And when the dust settles he's like damn that was a waste of time- Oren goes 'oh wait I literally met this person you're looking for lmao'

Why can't you use multi-tap typing to enter text on a TV screen, instead of having to navigate to individual letters? I have never understood this. It's so annoying to enter text like that and the solution is right there!
I just did a web search to see if it's possible and all the results were about how to use an app on your phone as a TV remote or, even worse, some device to control it with hand gestures.
NO.
C'monnnn, I was a tween/teen/young adult from the era of the Nokia 3310 to the Motorola SLVR, I know I still have the muscle memory to type like that without thinking. The letters are on the remote's number buttons and everything!

When Mobile Phones Became Popular: Know in This Blog
Tumblr media
The mobile phone has become an indispensable part of our lives. From making calls and sending texts to browsing the internet and playing games, these devices keep us connected and informed. But when exactly did mobile phones become popular?
The journey of mobile phones from a bulky, expensive novelty to the ubiquitous pocket computers we know today is a fascinating one. This blog will delve into the key moments that marked the rise of mobile phones, and how this technology revolutionized communication.
If you're interested in a career in mobile technology, consider enrolling at a mobile repairing institute in Delhi like Hi-Tech Institute, established in 2004, have trained over 3 lakh students in laptop and mobile repair. Their comprehensive mobile repairing courses equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of mobile devices. With a flourishing mobile phone industry, qualified mobile repair technicians are in high demand, offering the potential for a lucrative and rewarding career path.
1. The Brick Phone Era (1980s):
The 1980s saw the birth of the first commercially available mobile phones. These early devices were large, heavy, and incredibly expensive. The iconic Motorola DynaTAC 8000X, released in 1983, weighed a hefty 2.8 pounds and boasted a talk time of just 30 minutes! Despite their limitations, these brick phones were a status symbol, signifying wealth and power.
2. Cellular Networks and Shrinking Sizes (1990s):
The 1990s witnessed a significant shift in mobile phone technology. The introduction of cellular networks allowed for wider coverage and improved call quality. At the same time, advancements in miniaturization led to a decrease in phone size. The iconic Nokia "Cityman" model, released in 1992, was a significant step forward, offering a more compact and user-friendly design.
3. The Rise of SMS and The Texting Revolution (Late 1990s):
The late 1990s saw the emergence of a game-changer: Short Message Service (SMS), commonly known as texting. This new feature allowed users to send and receive short text messages, revolutionizing communication, particularly among young people. Texting became a quick, convenient, and affordable way to stay in touch, leading to a surge in mobile phone usage.
4. The Feature Phone Boom (Early 2000s):
The early 2000s saw the rise of feature phones. These phones offered a wider range of functionalities beyond just calling and texting. Features like polyphonic ringtones, rudimentary cameras, and basic games became commonplace. Popular models like the Nokia 3310 and the Motorola RAZR became cultural icons, defining an era of mobile communication.
5. The Dawn of the Smartphone (Mid-2000s):
The mid-2000s marked a turning point in mobile phone history with the introduction of the smartphone. The IBM Simon Personal Communicator, released in 1994, is considered an early precursor, but it wasn't until the arrival of devices like the Blackberry and the iPhone in the late 2000s that smartphones truly took center stage. These devices offered a plethora of features, including touchscreens, mobile internet access, app stores, and powerful processors, paving the way for a new era of mobile computing.
6. The App Revolution and Mobile Dominance (2010s - Present):
The 2010s witnessed the explosion of mobile apps. App stores like Apple's App Store and Google Play Store became flooded with millions of applications catering to every imaginable need, from productivity tools and social media platforms to games and entertainment. This app revolution transformed smartphones into multifunctional pocket computers, further solidifying their dominance in the communication landscape.
7. The Future of Mobile Phones: Always Connected and Evolving
As we move forward, mobile phone technology is constantly evolving. The focus is now on faster connectivity with the rollout of 5G networks, increased processing power, and advancements in features like artificial intelligence and augmented reality. We can expect even more seamless integration between mobile devices and our daily lives, blurring the lines between communication, entertainment, and productivity.
Tumblr media
The ever-increasing demand for mobile phones has also created a growing need for skilled professionals in the mobile repair industry. If you're interested in a career in mobile technology, consider enrolling in a mobile repairing course in Delhi. Institutes like Hi-Tech Institute, established in 2004, have trained over 3 lakh students in laptop and mobile repair.
Hi-Tech Institute offers a variety of mobile repairing courses in Delhi, catering to different skill levels and career aspirations. Explore their website to learn more about their programs and take the first step towards a promising future in the exciting world of mobile technology.

What colour is the photo frame closest to you? Green.
Are your pets asleep right now, if you have any? I won't be able to confirm for sure for you since I'm already all wrapped up in bed haha, but there is a very good chance they are. They generally treat crate time automatically as sleep time.
Would you have any idea what your parents are doing right now? My mom's asleep, I assume my dad is beginning work, if he does have to work today. I've never asked him if he works even weekends.
How many windows (roughly) does your house have? I think a good guesstimate would be around 15-20.
Do you have a good relationship with your cousins? I have a good relationship with 99% of them, but I am not necessarily close with all of them.
What was the last kids movie you saw? I'm not sure. It may have been Turning Red a couple of years ago.
Do you know anyone who was born in Africa? I don't think so.
Have you ever been to an internet cafe? Yeah. I was in one just a few years ago to get something printed; they're still relatively common here as not all households have internet.
Are there any upcoming events for you to look forward to? There's Wrestlemania next month which'll be two days; two weeks after that it'll be my birthday.
Has the year gone quickly for you so far? It has. It's weird that it'll be April soon and I'll be celebrating another birthday already; but at the same time it all also feels kind of funny considering January alone felt like 500 years, but then February and March happened/is happening in a flash.
How many siblings does your significant other have? I don't have one.
Are you one of those people who can drink vodka straight? No. I did that once when I was 19, never repeated it.
Have you ever done three or more shots in a row? Not in a row I don't want to die. The most I've done was take them in, like, 5-minute intervals.
Do you share a middle name with any of your friends? Nope.
Are you interested in international politics? I like to keep generally updated on news, but I don't study specifics.
How many pairs of jeans do you own? I have around five pairs of jeans, the rest are different types of pants.
When was the last time you showered? This morning, around 3 AM before I had to leave for work.
Do you know the name of the pharmacist at your local drug store? Nope.
What was the first cellphone you had and how old were you when you got it? I had a Nokia 3310 that had a Winnie the Pooh sleeve; I got it for my 7th birthday. Peer pressure is stupid. Like I'm grateful to my parents for giving into my (ridiculous) wish and getting me a phone, but I wish I never felt like I needed one at that age.
Do you use public transport in your town or city? No.
Have your parents ever worked in a factory? They have not. They started and have stayed in the hospitality industry in the 30+ years they've been working.
Do you have several best friends? Yes.
How many lights are in the room you’re in? I have one ceiling lamp, then one desk lamp.
Is there a Hard Rock Cafe in your town or city? Not here, no. I'll have to go to Makati to visit the Hard Rock we have.
Do you eat fast food more than once a week? No; I'd say once a week itself is the average for me.
What flavour is your toothpaste? Just mint.
Have you ever shared a shower or bath with someone as an adult? Sure.
When was the last time you had a bubble bath? Years ago. I prefer showers.
Are you sleepy right now? Getting there.
How big is your backyard? Spacious enough to hold a party or for the dogs to run crazily around.
Do you know anyone with Tourette’s Syndrome? Continued from Sunday. I might? Andi has a set of sounds and movements that would come up every few minutes, but I've never asked about them.
What time does your alarm wake you up in the morning? I don't have any; my body takes care of waking me up anywhere from 6 AM to 8 AM.
What was the last zoo you visited? I've never been to a zoo.
Do you like crime films and tv shows? I like watching true crime stuff, but usually as YouTube mini-documentaries that talk about real cases.
When you shop, do you take a basket or a cart (trolley)? I mean, it depends on how many things I need to get.
Have you ever tasted milk straight from the cow? I haven't.
What’s your favourite sleeping position? On either side, hugging a pillow.
What colour is the bra you’re wearing? I'm not wearing a bra; I'm at home.
Have you ever seen A Clockwork Orange? I have.
Are you bitter about anything? Ohohohoho yes, very much yes.
Do you like to make games out of chores to make them more enjoyable? No.
How many letters are in your best friend’s surname? Seven.
Is there anything in your possession that probably shouldn’t be? Mmm, I don't think so.
What is your favourite flavour of yoghurt? I find yogurt nasty.
What was the first online account you remember having? Discounting emails, I think it may have been Twitter? Either that or Livejournal.
Do you listen to music to fall asleep? Not music, but I have YouTube on and let it go into autoplay.
Where did you go last time you left your town or city? Not counting Metro Manila since I go in and out of there almost everyday, it would be last Friday when I went to Batangas for a company outing.
Do you use emojis? Yes.
Have you ever wanted to be a lawyer? For a period. Then I realized I wouldn't make it past a day in law school and promptly let go of that 'dream.'
What percentage of battery does your phone currently have? 76%.
What was the last type of soda you drank? Not sure...either a Pepsi or Coke Zero when there was nothing else to drink. I don't like soda.
How far away from your house is your favourite place to shop for clothes? 15 minutes.
Do you have supplies handy right now to draw something if I told you to? Yups.
Have you ever been married? Nopes.
What does your deodorant smell like? Baby powder.
Is your bedroom more messy or clean at the moment? A little messy, but it's not a shitshow. There are just a couple of things not in their proper place at the moment.
Do you use Twitter? Yup. Not nearly as much as I used to, but I still check it at least once a day just to see what everyone's up to.
Are you any good at baking cakes and cookies from scratch? No.
Is there a floor lamp in your bedroom? There isn't.
What does most of your weekly or fortnightly income go towards? Savings. I hardly touch my money these days except for when I want to buy food.
Have you ever been to another continent? I haven't.
Do you have any hidden piercings? (this includes bellybuttons) I don't.
What month is your birthday? April.
What can you hear right now? One Direction, hehehehe

My Day in a Life with Technology
We live in the 21st Century, wherein technology is apparent and continuously progressing. Back then, people would send snail mail or letters to others who lived far from them, and now, it's easier for us to connect with people worldwide with a few clicks. In addition, they would also have to adjust the antenna of their televisions to get a better resolution of the show they were watching. Today, we can watch our favorite shows through our widescreen 4k resolution LED televisions that we can also connect through our WIFI's. Other examples of old nostalgic technologies replaced by fast modern technologies and software were VHS tapes, cassette or MP3 players, Nokia 3310, and old film cameras. Of course, I also benefited and became reliable to the modern technologies and applications I use because those worked quickly and effectively. Each application I use has its purpose, which helps me manage my daily needs and leisure. Here are the applications that I use daily (organized by categories):
BASIC NEEDS (DELIVERY AND TRANSPORTATION)
Grab
Tumblr media
Grab Holdings Inc. is a multinational enterprise originally located in One-North Singapore. It is an application utilized on mobile phones that features ride services, food and grocery delivery, and online payments in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. During the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein social distancing is highly encouraged, the number of partnered merchants, riders, and users increased due to its contactless delivery.
In my case, I often use it for food delivery during my hectic schedule since I have no time to cook. After I place my food order, the application will display the rider's name, plate number, and location. I can either choose online or cash on delivery payment after the rider successfully delivers my food. Besides that, I also use GrabCar if I'm not familiar with the place I'll go. In addition, I rarely use GrabExpress (a feature that allows users to deliver documents and other essentials to a specific address) when I live far from the target location. I also have the option to rate riders and give comments or suggestions depending on my satisfaction with the service.
Hence, Grab became a useful application for me in transportation, and, food and document delivery.
Angkas
Tumblr media
Angkas, a trading enterprise by DBDOYC Inc., offers motorcycle service (Angkas Passenger) and package delivery (Angkas Padala). Recently, it has had 8 million downloads, with a safety record of 99.997%, and passengers can always book a ride at any time.
Angkas riders did a great job with transportation services, for they also send automatic customized messages to the passengers before they arrive at their location. The message is mostly about safety precautions and protocols, which include (the passengers) wearing a face mask, hair cap, and closed shoes, and they may tap the riders' shoulder if they're uncomfortable with the speed. Before traveling, the riders ensure the passengers' helmets are safely placed and locked, and offer a raincoat during rainy days.
I use the Angkas application because it helps me arrive at the location at an earlier estimated time during traffic. It is also cheaper than any other service application because it offers a student promo code.
Shopee
Tumblr media
Shopee Pte. Ltd., otherwise known as Shopee, is another Singaporean multinational enterprise specializing in online businesses available across countries in Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Latin America. Shopee became an online platform for sellers starting up businesses and buyers purchasing items over long distances.
I use Shopee because any items are available, and it also offers promo codes and sales during specific dates, such as 8.8 or 12.12. I also have the choice to refund the items within three days if the item delivered was defective on arrival. From my perspective, Shopee is like an "online ukay-ukay" because the dresses and shoes are produced in high quality marked with low price.
JW Library
Tumblr media
JW Library is an official application created by Jehovah's Witnesses, which features the bible in multiple languages, electronic versions of publications, books, brochures, magazines, and Bible-based music and videos. It can also be downloaded by anyone interested in learning more about the bible.
It aids my spiritual needs and goals because I read daily text first thing in the morning, and proceed to learn more about practical advice supported by bible principles and research, which can be found in reference books.
SCHOOL (ORGANIZATION AND LEARNING ASSISTANTS)
CALENDAR (APPLE)
Tumblr media
Calendar is created by Apple Inc. and is available in any Apple Operating Software. It features setting color-coded appointments and events and enables multiple calendar views to avoid schedule conflicts.
I prefer displaying the calendar widget on my home screen as a constant reminder to myself. Besides that, I can also easily monitor my tasks in a day without forgetting other tasks that aren't school-related. Hence, the calendar helps me organize my daily schedule.
Canva
Tumblr media
Canva is an Australian multinational graphic design company that features social media graphics and templates for different types of letters. I use Canva for creating PowerPoint, documents, and letters by selecting appealing templates for my chosen theme. Additionally, it isn't complicated to design the website because it features categories for each template and document type. Moreover, there's also a toolbox, useful for choosing different fonts and inserting other pictures and elements for a more enticing document.
Canvas Instructure
Tumblr media
Instructure, Inc. established a learning management system known as Canvas or Canvas LMS. Nowadays, different schools worldwide use Canvas, enabling teachers and students to engage in online synchronous learning, such as posting files and modules, submitting assignments, and interacting with each other using inboxes and discussion boards.
Canvas helps me track my assignments because it is synced to my phone calendar and notifies me every time an assignment's deadline is near. Also, the modules and files are easily downloadable; therefore, I can study any time I want. Lastly, if I have any concerns or questions regarding my schoolwork or attendance, I can reach out to my professors by sending my messages through inbox.
Google Meet
Tumblr media
Google Meet was created by Google, which allows users to communicate online despite long distances. Users have the option to turn on the cameras if they want to show themselves. Aside from that, users can also present the current software or tab they're using by using screen share. This application became useful during the COVID-19 pandemic to students and teachers for the education system to proceed amidst social protocols.
Until now, the application has been significant for me, especially during online learning, because it reduces transportation costs and efficiently becomes a real-time interaction with professors and classmates.
Grammarly
Tumblr media
The most commonly used American cloud-based typing assistant is Grammarly. Grammarly detects incorrect and inconsistent and suggests better and appropriate spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, engagement, and delivery in English works. The users have options to select writing goals and audience. Furthermore, it has a plagiarism detector and outlines suggestions available in Grammarly premium.
As a student, Grammarly became the most reliable website or application for writing essays and research. My overall score helps me be wary of my writing performance and adjust the necessary changes by clicking automatic suggestions.
POMOFOCUS.IO
Tumblr media
Pomofocus.io is a website that has a timer based on the Pomodoro Technique. The timer is automatically set for 25 minutes for task focus and automatically set to 5 minutes afterward as a short break. Every 4th interval of 25 minutes would automatically be set to 15 minutes for a longer break.
The website helps me concentrate on my tasks and avoid procrastinating. Especially during exam week, the website assisted my focus while reviewing as I set all my notifications to "do not disturb." Also, it prevented me from feeling burned out because the long break every four sets of 25 minutes felt like a reward for me.
Quizlet
Tumblr media
Quizlet is another multinational enterprise featuring different tools and learning modes, such as flashcards, learn, write, spell, and match.
If I'm tired after a long period of studying, Quizlet became my go-to application for preparing myself before exams. I mostly used flashcards for memorizing and familiarizing terms in Chemistry or Psychology classes. I also like to use the feature "learn" because it's a test-type learning mode with multiple choices and identification items.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Instagram
Tumblr media
Instagram is a social networking service established by American company Meta Platforms. It allows users to post, edit, and tag the location of their images and comment or like on someone's post. Furthermore, users can also update their daily lives by using the "story" feature with many filters and posting their notes. In addition, users can follow their known circle of people or verified accounts of celebrities, companies, etc. Instagram's recent feature is reels, which feature viewable video clips that may also be commented on and shared. And of course, like any other social media, users can also message their followers through direct messages and even send pictures that may or may not disappear once viewed.
I like posting different aesthetically pleasing sceneries through Instagram. I also like to post about my thoughts and daily life through stories, exclusive for close friends only, as it limits audience views that I'm comfortable with. Besides that, I can follow my favorite celebrities and become updated on their feed.
Messenger
Tumblr media
Messenger is an extension of Facebook, which allows users to communicate through chat and video calls. The users can also send pictures, stickers, videos, files, and voice messages and even react and reply to a particular message. It is available on any mobile phone and offers 111 languages. The usage of Messenger increased by 50% during the COVID-19 pandemic due to traffic utilization of group calls.
I mostly use it for communicating with others. The most useful feature is replying to a certain message, especially in group conversations because it prevents confusion among all group members.
Tiktok
Tumblr media
Tiktok, developed by ByteDance, had more than 2 billion mobile downloads worldwide by October 2020. It features short clips ranging from 3 seconds to 10 minutes with background music that may be sped up, slowed down, or reversed. Moreover, the "For You" page features different videos based on the users' algorithm, and users may react, comment, and share it with others by copying links and saving the videos. For privacy or security purposes, users may set their account to private for their videos to reach limited audiences. Recently, Tiktok also has a "live" feed that allows users to stream real-time and ongoing video.  The live feed is mostly used by game streamers or online sellers for auction. Lastly, TikTok also has an online shop for different products delivered through couriers.
I use TikTok during my free time because it allows me to view different relatable or funny clips on my feed. I can also interact with others by commenting. Nonetheless, I don't engage myself in TikTok challenges, for I am not confident enough to do those.
Twitter
Tumblr media
Twitter, currently about to rebrand to X, is a social networking site that allows users to post texts, images, GIFS, and videos with limited words by "tweeting," commenting, liking, and reposting others' posts.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, its growth increased rapidly and became one of the most dangerous sites for posting misinformation about the pandemic. Thus, Twitter started reporting tweets with false information and citing links with verified sources for fact-checking.
Twitter helps me become updated with recent news happening locally and worldwide. I can also freely post my thoughts about a specific topic and ensure that my thoughts aren't offensive and reliable.
ENTERTAINMENT
Disney+
Tumblr media
Disney+ is an American subscription video streaming service owned by Disney Entertainment. The application mainly shares films and series created by The Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, as well as Star in some regions. Other production companies involving original series and films became available in Disney+ subsequently.
Disney+ became my go-to application during my free time and entertained myself with movies and series, such as Turning Red, Brave, Tangled, Avengers, and Modern Family.
How about you? What applications do you use to meet your needs? If you have any recommendations about organizing schedules, hit me up anytime because I would gladly like to know yours!

Inspired by the geometric facade and rounded arches, graphic designer Reinaldo Camej, currently studying at the Barcelona School of Design and Engineering, turned the seemingly unlikely into a digital font. He chose Grundtvig Church in Copenhagen as the basis for his typography project, one of several buildings with interesting architecture from which students could choose. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Font Grundtvig Image: Reinaldo Camej[/caption]   "The Grundtvig Church is an incredible building, it combines classic features and bold geometric shapes, which I admire," says Reinaldo. "I highlighted two characteristic elements of its facade - verticality and stepped contours." To soften the straight lines and angles, Reinaldo incorporated curves into his design. He used the shape of the door arches for letter counterforms. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Font Grundtvig Image: Reinaldo Camej[/caption]   "Usually, I start working in Adobe Illustrator, and when I have drawn all the symbols, I transfer them to Glyphs to create the font and adjust the spacing," explains Reinaldo. "But Grundtvig font is monospaced, so it's much easier." The designer did not limit himself to the two-dimensional plane. He also created a 3D image of the letter "A." "I wanted it to imitate the shape of the facade," says Reinaldo. It's Nice That magazine notes that the font resembles pixelated images on a Nokia 3310. Fuwa is so funny as a character because he was just some guy picked seemingly at random to test the Kamen Rider technology from ZAIA. Like legit not even chosen because of some impressive military background or anything. Probably even chosen because he was so normal to see if the system could be used by anyone. They did fuck with him to "give him the drive" to fight HumaGear, but I don't think they expected Fuwa would be Like That.
Just fucking stumbled upon a man with grip strength that can crush even a Nokia 3310 and a willingness to stand on broken bones if the moment is right.

Reviewing all my phones simply because I wanna
*including the family phones because I have always been the poor soul that managed all of them regardless of age
Nokia 5110 (1998)
Tumblr media
Ah the memories... When the phones were that. Phones. I was probably around 6 when we got that and I was still the one handling it because my parents aren't the most tech savvy people. It was a thick phone, which I actually like, it had 6 but good ringtones and of course it had Snake. That's all we cared about back then. Not as tough as its reputation because we had to change it after 2-3 years.
BTW: my mom insists we also had the famous NOKIA 3310 but I have no memory of it whatsoever. Well, it's not like my mom can tell models apart.
Motorola 120e (2002)
Tumblr media
I wonder, what were we thinking as a family when we bought this object? The funny thing is that I am sure we bought it because we (mom) thought it looked pretty. It was slim, silver and UGLY AS HELL. The buttons were super dysfunctional, the screen was tiny and everyday the phone had one new bug. At some point after months? weeks? it simply died. Quietly, on its own. Nobody was sorry.
Sharp GX20 (2003)
Tumblr media
Back when Sharp was trendy, this was one pretty phone and certainly the prettiest of the Sharp GXXX line. The design was simply beautiful, the main screen was huge, the main camera was way ahead of its time and you could take a selfie by looking at yourself in the external screen. The small screen would also show notifications, the time, pictures etc. The only nonsensical thing about this phone was that the maximum video and voice recording session was only 10 seconds or something. WTF
Sony Ericsson K750i (2005)
Tumblr media
So if you didn't know it yet, here's the fact: K750i is the best phone ever created. The unsung hero. I saw an advertisement for it in a magazine and that was the first time I was fully manipulated by an ad. I wanted it so bad it was the only thing I was thinking about. I wasn't wrong. This phone proved the ultimate GOAT for its time. It was the direct predecessor of the walkman phones and it was in my opinion better because it specialized both in camera and music. The design was simply wonderful, with the silver back opening to reveal the lens. It was also as tough as any classic NOKIA and more. I bought it before 8th grade and kept it till my second year in university (8 years). It was still working fine but it was basically dissolving in my hands. My parents begged me to buy me a smartphone and my friends thought I was ridiculous. They couldn't understand. I am seriously considering buying a 3D model of this phone (it exists) just for the memories.
Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 (2015)
Tumblr media
See this? This is the worst idiotphone someone had the audacity to create. Bought the gold one for mom because she only cares for looks and she wanted a "smart"phone to feel relevant (even though she can't even use the basic phones). Anyway, even I can't use that phone. Everything about it is bad. Bad responsiveness, bad interface, bad camera, bad screen, bad memory, bad battery, bad CPU EVERYTHING IS BAD There is literally not one good thing I can think about this phone. It's obviously a low-end device but what I mean is it is bad by low-end standards. Utterly horrible. I was tempted to throw it from the balcony quite a few times. If you want to kill time, go read reviews of this monstrosity.
Samsung Galaxy S5 mini (2014)
Tumblr media
My personal initiation to the smartphone world was traumatic in the beginning as I had to buy this phone twice, because I lost the first one after a few months. However, the fact that I paid again for the exact same model is a hint about how much I liked that phone. Small, beautiful with changing skins, simple and so bloody functional. I have no complains whatsoever except the memory proved small for me after 5 years of filling it up. I bought a memory card and then Samsung fucked something up with the compatibility. My phone was broken. I spent a month trying to fix the software myself. I did it eventually. I still have it now but the battery drains in a few hours without touching it. I am heartbroken. I don't know if I should change the battery or it is because of the "touched" software I put in there. And it has become unbearably slow. I knew I had to swallow it and buy a new phone. But I knew, any phone I chose would always be an Android and preferably Samsung.
iPhone 12 mini (2020)
Tumblr media
This... didn't go as planned. Let me explain myself. I am an Android fan, I love its interface and customization freedom. I hate everything about Apple. I don't like iphones either. BUT IT'S NOT MY FAULT THERE ISN'T ONE SINGLE NORMAL SIZED ANDROID PHONE IN THE MARKET. IT'S YOUR FAULT FOR APPARENTLY USING YOUR PHONES WITH YOUR FEET OR WHAT. I need a phone, not a freaking ear laptop. This was the only phone that could fit in my hand, only slightly larger than the S5 mini. I mean, it's not my ideal choice to sell a kidney for a phone, trust me. It's been several months and I dare say I am... okay with the iphone. I still prefer Android but I admit iOS is clean cut, so to speak. I hate how limited it is in customization and I hate that it literally burns like lava while charging or running a heavy app. But more than anything else, I hate how much Apple exploits its customers. An app that is free on Google Play can cost 10 bucks per month in Playstore. Let's not forget that I had to go buy chargers and cables separately to make my phone functional. Go fuck yourself Apple, honestly. It's a pretty phone but you don't deserve the hype. Camera is very good though. And the one thing that made me bond a little with this phone was that a friend pointed out it is a very "me" phone - it's admittedly a phone that when you see it, you will pick me out of a group of people as its likeliest owner. And so... I don't hate it that much. My concern is what will happen when I will have to buy a phone in the (hopefully distant) future... they don't make phones for my hands anymore. Actually, they don't make phones anymore period

Today it is the birthday of my best friend from school. She’s 35 today.
I know this because it’s the 28th of January and that is her birthday. It will forever be her birthday. I remember her home phone number. I remember the lock code on her Nokia 3310. I remember her handwriting. She taught me the word “illustrious”.
Nothing happened. We never fell out, not once. We stayed in touch through university, and visited each other after graduating. Till we didn’t. We talked on Facebook, till we didn’t. Wished each other happy birthday once a year, till we didn’t. We just had less and less in common, and the things that we did have in common mattered to us less, and conversation become harder and thereby sadder.
We aren’t even Facebook friends now. I can’t remember who quietly clicked the button. Might have been her, might have been me. But one day it was over and one day one of us found out and now it is long since.
But today is the 28th of January and it is her birthday and I’m thinking about the traces we leave on people’s lives and the ghosts of friendships and the beautiful strangeness of the what-once-was that echoes in the what-now-is.
Happy birthday, hat girl.
I wonder if you still wear hats.

just some more info on nokia, did you know nokia phones can be used as armor? i heard of a story about a man who was shot in the butt but survived because of his nokia that was in his back pocket at the time, nokia phones not just small bricks but they save lives too
There are many tests on Nokia 3310. You can find gun v Nokia on YouTube. I think generally it stopped the billet but in some it didn’t. It depends on the moment of the bullet which has multiple variables
In this case, it literally saves MC’s life lol
