You know that art challenge where you and a friend switch paintings every 10 minutes until your done painting, he LOVES doing those. He also just enjoys both of you silently drawing in the same room as eachother. The class fridge is full of you twos drawings.

Anything that has your drawings on it he loves! Once you gave him a sticky note with a quick 15 minute drawing on it and he carries it with him EVERYWHERE! One of the pockets of his hero costume is that sticky notes dedicated pocket! After each drawing he will message your hand to stop any injurys from forming <3

Like Shishida, he just makes sure youre taking care of yourself while drawing or painting. What good is an amazing artist if your sick and cant draw.

I really like the idea of using his scales for textures idk why. Like imagine you just drag him away from whatever hes doing, you ask him to cover his arm in scales and you just start painting him yellow. He loves helping tho and if you ran out of room to store things in your room his dorm is always open!

it started off as a silly little mafia game. as you do. 23 players and a handful of watchers, plus our lovely admin Hydro. it was going to be just like the first one, little bit of roleplay, a lot of confusion, silly little mafia game. right? wrong.

now you see, it went sort of like this. (everything is paraphrased btw this a summary)

The players (Bdubs, BigB, Cleo, Cub, Etho, False, Gem, Grian, Impulse, Jimmy, Joel, Katherine, Lizzie, Martyn, Pearl, Pix, Ren, Sausage, Scar, Scott, Shubble, Skizz, and Tango) entered the Rift. (normal timeline, the Hermitcrafters were meant to go into Empires. they ended up in a different world. Skizz made it in through a nether portal in one of his survival worlds.) On the other side of the portal was a world familiar to some, unknown to others. The ruins of Third Life. At night.

Night 0 We arrive! in the land known as the Ruins of Third Life most people have come through the rift that crossed hermits over to empires the empires folks also entered the portal tho- there's a handful of people who've been in third life, and a handful who've never seen it before twenty three players some people remember it all some people remember nothing at all memories are a'jumbled but the majority of players remember where they came from. empires or hermitcraft. no one seems to remember both the night is silent. peaceful. relaxing

Yeah they danced on a guy's spilled blood👍 all my knowledge comes from google translating the event and some things were a bit Hmm, that doesnt sound right, but i'll do my best to summarize...

King Slayer is a unit from abroad that copies Knights, at the beginning of ES!! timeline, leo and tsukasa personally visit and get them to knock it off, but in the next year they become really popular and fans abroad start thinking knights is a copy of king slayer instead. In the meanwhile tsukasa is raising first years under his rule in knights, including these 2 siblings. Spoilers: they end up being traitors, the younger one is the one who goes to stab tsukasa (who after everything still offered him a hand to come back and sharpen their blades together, to which the guy is like -_- I'll show you a sharp blade already. Stab.)

Anyway. Leo's been helping king slayer cuz it turns out that group is formed by some ex chess members who were pushed out of yumenosaki. The older brother of the npcs was also a chess member. Now how do i put the mouse scene...things sucked back then in yumenosaki, you know, ppl were at their limits etcetc anyway well this guy, ryuji, only had one friend to brighten his day, a mouse. And little john the cat killed it. Ryuji loses it and jumps in a fire as a result of grief and general unwellness, which triggers the younger brother to want revenge on knights. I didnt tell you things in the right order i hope it still is coherent tho. I think arashi had a slight crush on ryuji, im really curious if these npcs will get brought up again

june/july before and afters 😎

took a break from giffing for a hot minute since february, but i’m back now for the comeback 😎 it’s a bit before the end of july, but i didn’t have anything to post for today while i’m away so i’ll do this instead. out of all the months, i think this one had the most gifs where i was content with my colour corrections or my colouring choices. every time i thought, ‘you know what, i’m too lazy for this,’ i slapped another corrective layer instead. this is definitely a ‘thank myself later’ moment LOL the first two (karina, winrina) were definitely my best colour corrections. the first lighting looked like a hellspawn and i severely questioned both my ability and my sanity when i decided to gif it. there are definitely things i would change about it but im mostly content with the blacks, blues, and skin tone so it’s a W for me. the winrina one was as nice restoration. a bit tough because of the whites, but glad i could make it look like they stepped into the sun. the next two (click to enlarge) are ones i wasn’t satisfied with. the studio choom one... i wanted to bring out blues but it was really tough on the skin tone and i had trouble working with the magenta lighting. ended up doing a mish mash of things i didnt like and a shade of blue i’m not happy with. i think this was one of those where i changed things i didnt have to and possibly ruined a perfectly good video. the fancam was just... i don’t know... not what i imagined...? i wanted more pink but i was scared of eliminating the non-existent skin tone and, idk, ended up with some orange pink purple clumpy colouring. i shouldve paused in the middle to think after the original plan didn’t work, but i kept forcing it and rushing... lesson learned. at least she cute tho... then comes lts winter and mcore illusion winter. these are ones where i was content with my color and cleaning fixes; when i thought i had to be okay with it not looking good, but figured it out in the end (... i think?). the lts mv was REALLY washed out so restoring the blacks without ruining the light pink vibe (when the pinks were REALLY STRONG) was really difficult. it took a lot of minute fixes but i like how it turned out! the illusion one... i wanted to trash that one SO BAD. i actually planned on doing ning first but it ended up so terribly that i scrapped the entire thing. but then i got frustrated at myself for giving up so i tried again with winter... because whenever i gif winter and want to give up mary comes and slaps me and tells me winter deserves better *s0b* . i really experimented with the denoising here (like 3 different methods in different combinations??) because the sharpening and LED lights of the stage were SO frustrating. i’m also pretty sure winter has skin more on the cool-tone side so the colours were a bit difficult to manage. considering what i had to work with, i’m content with what i did! gma winter and racer winter!!! i’m proud of these two because these are ones where i consciously made a decision and chose a certain deviation from what i normally do. gma winter - i wanted to make it look like she literally came out of fire to cut up black mamba... brrr ow!. it was difficult because the sun made the video REALLY bright and exposed and washed out and i nearly lost my mind. in the end i applied some layers that broke some colouring rules that i normally keep. even though the before/after doesn’t look too great to me on its own, i feel that it looks quite nice as a set so i’m happy with how it turned out. racer winter is one where i made a decision to not make a lot of changes. this before/after shows the most change out of all of them, but the others in the set look like they haven’t changed. most of all, i was proud of my decision not to restore skin tone like i normally do. it was a day after i had a picture taken of me in a room with bright lighting and i looked like a ghost. and i was like damn i guess sometimes keeping the skin light and not darkening it is actually closer to the truth... so i did it here. i think it looks great and keeps it real. as much as it’s important to be careful of whitewashing when giffing, i believe it’s just as important to not darken, redden, or yellow skin past what makes sense with the portrayed lighting.  last one is ningie! idk i just made this one and she’s just so cute so i put it in here. used a combination of things i tested this month and im cool with it 😎 if you read up to here... wow thanks 😎. it’s honestly quite tedious to make a before/after version of every gif i make, but i think it’s really leveled up my giffing and helped me reflect on what i can do to get better at this. (it’s also super satisfying to look at.) this is definitely something i’ll keep doing, and something i’d love to see other people do as well if they’re up for it! next month’s goals... make everything work. i’m planning to gif every stage regardless of how painful it is and regardless of how much it’s been done. just having a record of what i’ve watched and enjoyed when going through my m:gif tag has always given me a lot of fulfillment, so i’m looking forward to this project. excited to push my limits 🤟🏻 also going to start a winter in kwangya hell series  good night and yow! 🤟🏻😎

it really was just a surprise because the number of gif creators has been drastically reduced since this post type has been dying out on all other platforms. for me it gave me the similar vibe of recent dvd movies being redesigned for vhs covers (tho not quite that old). it was super charming!

and i hope i didnt imply that your gif work was bad or outdated! i think the colors are quite fitting and the quality speaks for itself.

im quite new to the fe3h and ferdibert scene, so im having a great time trawling tumblr for all the great posts ive missed since 2019. i was quite happy to see this particular gif post because it felt like such a classic tumblr staple, like all ships need (at least) one dedicated set of gifs/edits, and this was the one i needed 🥰

Hi! I'm glad there's no worries there, I went back and forth for a bit and I didn't want it to feel like a callout post because. it was very much not! I just wanted to talk about gif stuff a little bit

and I definitely don't feel bad about your comments or anything! At first I was surprised but when I went and looked at the gifset I definitely agreed with you (despite nitpicks about the time period heh.) It did make me think about how, in general, I don't think tumblr gif-making trends have continued changing as much since the mid-2010s, and if they have I stopped really keeping up with them. I think some of that is probably just me, esp due to my never buying Photoshop CC (i remember looking at others' methods in maybe 2016ish and seeing that I just didn't have the tools others did anymore. my old CS6 is still chugging along…) but also due to the site becoming less popular over time and there being less interest and fewer people getting into gif-making. Like you said it's a bit of a dying medium, and it's never really been a popular post type on other platforms, so if not for tumblr who would people be making gifsets for?

Lol I definitely feel you about that style of post being an older ship staple though! It used to be such a common thing that every fandom had (albiet less for video games bc that's often harder - I do not honestly remember really making that series of 3h ship gifs but that was definitely dedication to the cause at the time, there was so little media to work with). Now a bit of a dying art alas (including from me since I don't really make many gifs at all anymore….learning to draw instead for a number of reasons)

Anyway yes that was a fun rabbit hole to go down! Genuinely I would love to read a Tumblr gif/graphic aesthetic writeup - putting framerates aside I don't think people really use textures that much anymore for example unless they need a background, and sharpening has definitely been toned down. And fewer song quotes. And filters still lean more pastel than the really saturated stuff in the early 2010s. But I don't really have the time atm to do some kind of deep dive myself…it would be really neat though!

(Also just in general as someone who never left, seeing the site come back to life a little bit as the twitter BS kicked off has been fun…idk if it will last but i'm enjoying it while it does!)

hi teresa! how are you? if it’s not too much bother, can you please explain how you did your joe babygirl diagnose gifset please?

hey anon!! i'm good, thanks! i hope you're doing well also!

for the gifset, i basically followed the same process for each gif. because i decided on the purple/yellow color scheme, i focused on bringing out those colors for each gif. to do this, i used several selective color layers until i got the shades and intensity i wanted, and because most of the gifs originally had a lot of blue/green and yellow/brown, i focused on adjusting those colors (and had to erase around his face on some layers when it got too yellow/red). then i did the rest of my regular coloring steps (increase curves, increase contrast, increase vibrance, increase exposure). finally i converted them to timeline (bc i always start w frames) and sharpened.

for the blending, i had to play around w some of them for a bit to get them to work, but i basically just switched the gif layer on top to screen and moved them around to place each gif were they looked best, and used layer masks to erase places to make his face clear from each shot (using a mix of the eraser and the gradient tool). i dont really have much like explanation for the blending part it was really just play with it till it looks good 😂

for the text, bc i was going for like an official checklist form look, i used times new roman for the main font, and learning curve for the cursive font to make it look handwritten. for the X's, i used google images to find an x doodle and the shape tool to make boxes. then i also found a heart doodle and put that over the dot for the i in babygirl. and thats basically it!!

hi anon!! this is such a fun question to ask people hsdjfh ^^ yeah i do read tags people leave on my work ! i try really hard to read every single one but im not too meticulous about it >~< picking just one favorite is a bit hard tho bc i really love all the tags i get!! ive noticed more recently that people have started leaving hilarious(tm) tags on my sets so if i were to pick a favorite it’d probably be those! cause i love reading them they make me laugh :P
