(I suppose since Susie was recently mentioned in a reblog of my sister's art, it's only fair i should make a post talking about the goobers lmfao)
Monster Prom AU; Starring Trifecta and Susie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lore under the cut!
Trifecta was once human, ages upon ages ago - he became God thanks to a ritual which ended in suicide, which one could dub a "Hatchet Incident" - Through this ritual, he was an Existential Blasphemy, something that should not be, but is, thus through that paradox, he is both as Old as reality itself, and merely a young adult. For a while, he lived in old ruined buildings before moving in with Kiah (@fishy-moirails's Sona) and becoming roommates, and in time becoming as close as Siblings - said bond also leading to a Pact made with Kiah's Partner, Oz/Calculester, as to make sure she cannot Die; her soul being under the protection from whatever outside forces seek her, be it heaven, hell, other Gods, or even Father Death himself. As time passes, his powers grow, and deeper does the paradox go; now having an entire interdimensional mansion to himself, and being able to summon Eldritch Servants; all these powers serving as proper preparation for that which he'll save all those within his favor from: The End of The World, by the Trumpeteer's clarion call.
Susie Stiles is part of a rich family of, funnily enough, Dollmaking Dolls; each member crafted with the utmost care and attention, given special abbillities and powers exclusive to them, and fit with a pristine little gemstone on their chest, one that best represents them - Susie was created from stretchy fabric and a special plastic, her abillity being to stretch her arms and legs, and her gemstone being a heart-shaped spinel; beautifully crafted by a one of the four matriarchs of the family... who turned out not to care for her at all, despite taking all this effort, time, and care into making her. And despite her pristine form, because of her maker and caretaker, and her dissappearance, she didnt see herself as too good looking - Trauma gave her self and body image issues. And yet, despite all That, she still tried to go her own way, make her own lot in life, and see where it takes her - That, and she really enjoys being a Punk, gives her a sense that she has some control over her life after so many years, not to mention the aesthetic really fit her.
Both end up meeting in Spooky Academy, becoming friends, and in time, even partners - Trifecta helping Susie out through her personal issues, offering her loving solace, and in turn Susie shows him that this "mortal" life isint all that bad, that even as God, he deserves kindness and love.
Not to mention, of course, the fact that just by being with Trifecta, and sharing affection with him, she practically elevated herself to a very high status lmfao - She'll be the very first one saved when the Trumpeteer comes calling, lovingly left in the safety of the interdimensional mansion, while her beloved takes care of the Threat of Heaven, and He-Upon-The-Golden-Throne.
Now, for some Trivia!
Susie and Kiah are very close friends, thanks to Trifecta; so close in fact that they've become an iconic duo in of themselves, "The Godslayer Girls" - they even have matching shirts! As for how they got that name, Kiah once had a playfight with her brother in a parking lot and won, and Susie? Well, let's say she has a certain effect on ol' 'fecta, which causes him to almost literally melt thanks to Susie's flusters lmao
Nenaavi, Trifecta's eldritch "pet" cat, aided as a kind of emotional support when the Eldritch Nerd helped the Punk Doll through her issues - The kitty fed on her emotions, and acted silly as to boost her mood - Funnily enough, Nenaavi's doing the same for Kiah as well
Kiah claims that Trifecta cheekily helping out her relationship with oz/cal is him watching a Soap Opera - Funny then, that kiah as well has a Soap Opera to watch, with Trifecta and Susie, only diffirence is that their's is a hell of a lot more wholesome, and filled with a lot of lovingly teasing flusters lmfao

:) *pulls out book of shadowstar's info*
I am the genie and you are the fool who dared make a vague wish tumblr user @spookyghoulz
In 2016 I created shadowclaw, a bright orange cat with an eyepatch, a weird shadowy claw thing (her namesake) and a clan name, phantomclan
Pre-hawkfrost (2016-2017):
I don't remember much about the pre-hawkfrost era other than the fact that I changed her name to shadowstar, got rid of the eyepatch and shadowy claw and gave her a purple star on the tip of her tail
Her backstory was that she was a kit from a group of rouges who called themselves scarclan (ow the edge) and her father was the leader of that rouge group. But one day he killed her mother and her two brothers but she and her sister escaped, shadowpaw with a blinded eye and her sister with a fucked up leg
Her sister ran away to the mountains while shadowpaw escaped to phantomclan
Hawkfrost (2017-2019)
Her backstory in the hawkfrost era was diffirent. Instead of being an outsider, she was born in phantomclan along with her two sisters (redkit and eaglekit). She also had some friends as an apprentice, maggotpaw (he's probably my second most developed warriors oc), foxpaw (important later), dovepaw, crowpaw, flamepaw, beepaw and spottedpaw
Beepaw fucking died and spottedpaw broke her leg so that sucked
Also flamepaw ran away to lightningclan (another clan in this mess of a story) and dovepaw and crowpaw ran away to the mountains
I'm not sure how she lost sight in one of her eyes but I know it was an injury. Anyway she started training in the dark forest (for some reason) and that's where she met hawkfrost :)
They fell in love because reasons, also shadowstar (shadowstorm at the time) murdered her mentor who was also the deputy, owlheart
And foxtail also liked shadowstorm there was a love triangle and shadowstar chose hawkfrost so foxtail did an ashfur except he didn't die and got a redemption
She and hawkfrost also had kits because I'm like that, their kits names were. Eaglekit, blackkit, moonkit and lionkit(RIP)
I'm skipping over a lot of details (like maggotpelt going from a generic villan with a tragic backstory to a very sad boi who the universe loves to use as a punching bag) because that would take hours to explain
Post-hawkfrost (2019-present)
After I realized that maybe having a living person's love interest be a dead guy wasn't a good idea I made foxtail her love interest instead because he's honestly just a chill dude
Beepaw still fucking dies, spottedpaw becomes a medicine cat willingly, flamepaw, dovepaw and crowpaw don't run away anymore, I got rid of her purple tail star in favor of the black and orange that is her current design, I actually have a reason for her eye injury (dawnstar)
and also maggotpelt gets to have nice things (a family that dosen't die)
Her backstory is basically the same (minus the dark forest and hawkfrost) but she doesn't murder her mentor (he gets murdered by dawnstar)
Also when dawnstar becomes a problem she actually helps the cats trying to murder dawnstar because that's the only way to make sure dawnstar won't murder anyone else
Irrelevant but still something
I gave her an evil edgy alter ego that lasted all of seven minutes
I broke off shadowclaw into an entirely different character in a non-warriors story
There was a time when she was a normal orange tabby (with the purple star marking)
When hawkfrost was his father eagle kit just looked like hawkfrost with green eyes but now that his father is foxtail, he's a torbie
This is only the tip of the iceberg

It's very easy to get into these stories after the game I've decided to try these comics out after completing The Wolf Among Us, which impressed me A LOT. This game said at the end: "continue fables stories with Fables comic books". I was never too much into serious adult comics, but I've decided to give it a try. First of all, I have to say, It's very easy to get into these stories after the game, but first time you have to get used to these drawings, which are diffirent from the game. After you get used - you're trapped. I've bought all nine deluxe books at the moment and finishing the 5th at the moment. These stories are really adult oriented, these characters are more brutal and tough in some ways. Go to Amazon
My favorite thing ever! These books are among some of my favorite things I own in my whole house. If my house burned down and my cat was safe, I'd probably grab these books if I could! That's probably untrue, but my point is I love them! I've always connected with fairy tales and stories, and it's the one thing I remember about my childhood being totally invested in. These books spoke to me since I heard about them and every moment when I'm reading them I just feel at home. Even during the scenes that aren't totally compelling, I feel like I'm the most comfortable I could possible be when I have one of these cracked open. I'm reading them at such a slow pace it's laughable, but I'm trying to make this feeling last, since you just can't experience something for the first time a second time! If you have any interest in those fairy tales you grew up with, I recommend you give them a chance! Go to Amazon
Absurdly creative This is an absurdly creative graphic novel equal in calibre to the works of Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman. The oversize deluxe edition with gorgeous dust cover is a fabulous way of reading this sweeping epic of fable fantasy for mature audiences, especially if you are a first time reader like me. When you consider the price of comics these days, this is a high value way of collecting this series since each edition has close to 10 comics and can be found on Amazon at about 40% of MSRP (or around $16 each + shipping). The comics are printed on high quality paper and the print quality is superb. The binding is glued which is not a problem given the size of the publication; it is of course problematic for the larger DC omnibus or absolute editions. Sometimes the comic is printed a little too close to the binding making it difficult to read, but these occurrences are rare. This a much high value product than the DC archives series which retails for $49.95 or higher. My only real complaint is the use of multiple artists on the same fable character across this epic. This normally would not be a problem if the artwork were equal across artists and if there was little variation in how the characters are portrayed. Some artwork is brilliant and some downright crude. Finally some of the stories are trite and should have been omitted. But overall we can ignore these disappointments. I definitely will collect the entire series. Go to Amazon
Imaginative and Fun spin on Old Favorites Super imaginative and a fun alternative to the standard super hero fare. Willingham has succesfully added depth, history and intrigue to timeless characters and it is quite fun to see what direction he takes characters like the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, etc. The artwork is about as good as it gets for a comic that is not affiliated with the Big 2 (Marvel and DC). Mark Buckingham becomes the lead penciller for most of the series with other artists filling in on various issues. His best work is not in this first volume, but seems to hit a better, more consistent style in later volumes. Go to Amazon
Great Art! Great Plot! Great Books!! I bought the first three hardcover deluxe additions books of the series as a gift for my son. I did not read them, but I like the premise of the story. Go to Amazon
The deluxe reprinting of the best comic book series ever is almost complete While it’s not as compelling as the game (which is sublime) I still enjoyed it all the way through Five Stars Five Stars Five Stars Three Stars Three Stars A continuation of excellence A fun page turner Five Stars

"A Spinning Feeling: Part 1 - The first meeting"
Selfship Story - Starring Maxim, and Spinel
Story under the Cut
Exactly 6 weeks have passed since Maxim bled into this world, and it admittedly felt somewhat odd to him, living like a human again. All his life has he wished for such mortal suffering and routine to end, and yet now - as a God - he found himself going back into this way of existance.
Though, it was going to be diffirent. He had control now, Control over his life, his actions, over aspects of the world - though he stops himself from going further, he could control this world and make it answer his every wish and whim… but sometimes, there is fun in unpredictability… though, it is also a double-bladed sword. Unpredictability in this case could also end him, emotionally of course, if he wasn't careful.
Maxim shook his head to not overthink too much, instead choosing to focus on his new home, which he was standing in front of. He was admittedly still rather impressed with Bismuth's craftsgemship - She actually managed to complete his request to the T, though it most likely was she had help from Pearls, or other 'classy' gems with the matter to make it in the style of Art Deco… Either way, its beyond impressive.
Obviously, he could have just made one himself at a flick of his wrist, but actually choosing to do it some customary way seemed to make a bit more sense. He only hoped the whole "bluff" of having always just enough currency would work out still.
"…Hm, speaking of Funds, i should propably spend them on some activities, shouldn't i?"
Maxim murmured to himself, thinking out loud, as he places a hand on his chin, tapping it with his index finger, before shrugging, turning around and going off into beach city.
"To be fair, i never properly went into a proper park or carnival, other than those at the eye… Hm. Guess Funland will be a first-time experiance of such things for me!"
He continued monologuing to himself, finding an odd comfort it speaking to himself, a habit from his previous life.
So he went towards Funland, rather fascinated, more so by the second as he hummed to himself, feeling a shard of child-like excitement over the whole situation as he practically waltzed into funland, suprisingly managing to get through a quick interaction with Mr. Smiley to get into the park itself, as he goes around the whole park, beyond fascinated with everything around him. It was a whole new experiance! A whole new Real experiance at that! He had been in countless carnivals in games or in the stories he read or imagined, but being in one for real was something else! He had to just try every single game he could find!
"It's beyond Fascinating, so many colors, treats, such-and-such, na ozyrysa i apisa, if only i could be everywhere at once!"
He lightly joked to himself, though still very much wanting to try everything - well, except the sweet popcorn, that seems like sacreligious blasphemy - choosing to go try a couple of games first, already hopping over to it to try it. From shooting down targets with a toy gun, to ring tossing, he has played many games already, choosing to return to one he has played over remembering there being a plushie he wanted to get before he could go to any other games or start going to the rides, humming to himself with a bright confidence as he went over to the booth of the beanbag-toss game, stopping when he noticed a familiar figure.
They, or rather, She, had long pigtails, sporting a dark shirt with small shoulderpads, puffy shorts, white leggins, or is it socks? he couldnt tell, as well as pointy boots, all of her form in diffirent shades of pink. He blinked, as he realised that it was Her. Not only was she from his vision, but he recognised her from his previous human life… he never met her in person, though he knew she was more than important to him. Thousands of thoughts ran through his mind, gentle whispers appearing around him, that one could hear if they were close enough, before ceasing as he shook his head, clearing his throat as he looked at her once more.
She appeared to be playing the game he was about to play himself, though not doing too well. It took him a moment to compose himself and gather enough confidence anew, before he stepped over to the beanbag-toss booth, basically next to her now as he noticed her focused expression, trying her best to hit the bags in the right spots, but seemingly not managing to hit them at the rainbow spot. He hummed as he looked at her, then at the way she threw. The more Maxim saw her play, the more he felt nostalgic, remembering playing something simmilar in his human life, before gently clearning his throat once more.
"Excuse me,"
he said, trying to sound as poilte as possible, first impressions matter!
"May i have a turn?"
She turned to look at him, blinking in suprise over not noticing him earlier, gently moving her hand in his direction,
"Oh, Sure!"
She said with a smile, as he hummed softly, finding himself gently smiling back at her smile, lightly hesitantly taking some of the bags into his hand as he hummed softly in focus, his expression changing to fit his concentration, earning her to gently tilt her head in intrigue. He started off fine, managing to hit some of the bigger spots, earning him a fair amount of points before nearly hitting the rainbow spot. Obviously he tried again, humming still as he managed to hit more and more spots without much problem, accept for the rainbow one.
He thought the silence was a bit.. Uncomfy, to say the least, as he looked at her and tried to spark some conversation.
"What brought you here? I-if you dont mind me asking."
He hummed.
"Ah, nothin' much, this game looked fun so i decided to try it out, though…"
She lightly trailed off as she looked at what appeared to be one of the prizes, a big teddy bear with a pink heart at its tummy.
"Ever since i saw that prize, i've been trying to get it… Progress has been, eheh… slow."
She chuckled softly as she looked at him, him looking at her back, before looking back at the game in front of him. Ah, to hell with the other plush, he could try to craft one himself, mayhaps, as he now thought that a kind gesture would be in order.
"Hm… Check this."
He hummed to himself with a chuckle, before throwing each of his bags. Blue, green, yellow, red, each of them hit! The two seemed focused, as Maxim threw the last bag, it hitting the rainbow spot, finally, as Maxim laughed to himself,
"Yes! Oh, Golly what fun!"
"Congratulations! Please pick a prize."
The Employee said, as Max looked over the vast array of plushies availible. For a moment, he pondered the plush octopus, before pointing to another one.
"i'd like the teddy bear, please."
He asked politely, as She hummed softly, her expression gently souring, though not enough to be noticed, as he picked up the bear from the employee, before turning to Her, a happy smile on his face, as he gave his prize to her, as her expression brightened up to pure suprise.
"For you, Miss!"
He chuckled softly. He… Knew, her name, though it would be best to ask her for it first before he can call her by name, as he smiled at her more softly. She was in a small state of shock as she reached out for the offered gift, gently pushing it to her chest as she smiled at him back, a small blush on her face.
"…T-thanks, Pal, Though it is your prize, dont ya think its best ya keep it..?"
She shrugged, as he smiled more,
"No, it's more than fine, it's yours! You did want it, did you not?"
He chuckled softly, making her blush even more, hugging the plush closer to her.
He admittedly found her cute, seeing her somewhat shy and hugging the plush close to her like such, as he gently sighed to himself, holding his hands, before blinking back into focus as he looks at her still,
"A-ah, right, Almost forgot to ask, What is your name, Miss?"
He asked, Polite as ever, as she looked back up at him, a soft smile on her face a she chuckles at his formality,
"Hey, no need to be so formal, pal! Call me Spinel!"
She chuckled softly as she smiled brightly at him, making him blush a bit more, as he chuckles back,
"F-fair enough, guess i can't help it, t'heheheh…"
He rubbed the back of his head, not really able to be any less formal to someone he sees as higher than him, as he smiles at her shyly, though happily.
"My name's Maxim, it's a pleasure!"
He hesitantly took his hand out, not expecting anything, his eyes gently widening and his blush gently growing once seeing that Spinel has taken his hand, as he hums softly. Feels truly Odd, to be honest. This is the first time he shook someone's hand in… Lifetimes. It felt… Kind. He gently tightened the hold on her hand as they shook hands, before he had to let go when she did, as to not make it awkward, gently humming as they look at eachother, both of them sporting a tiny blush at the whole situation, before she hums in thought.
"…Wanna join me for some other games, Max?"
She asked, seeming to enjoy his company, as he looked at her, blinking in slight suprise as he smiles anew,
"i'd… Like to, Spinel. If its alrighty with you, of course…"
He muttered lightly shyly.
"'Course it'd be fine, that's why i asked!"
She softly laughed, moving away into a direction of another game, as he tips his cap to the employee and hops over to match her walking speed,
"Heh, you're kinda weird."
She softly muttered herself, him picking up at her word, feeling a shard of unsurety grip his heart as she smiles on, happy still,
"i like that."
He was admittedly confused on how she found him being 'Weird' to be something to like, but he chose not to dwell on the thought, choosing instead to enjoy his time with her as they went around the park, playing diffirent games and managing to win diffirent prizes, Spinel winning for Maxim a big plush as well as to 'settle the score', both of them enjoying eachother's time greatly as they went around the park and exchanged stories. For the second time after he became a God, Maxim found himself feeling genuinely happy, occasionally lightly messing with his hands as a stim, finding himself even snickering for, seemingly, no reason. Eventually, the two choose to go get some Treats and Drinks, Spinel getting the former while Maxim ordered the latter, He of course asking her politely on what she wished for, her snickering and telling him to suprise her, leading to now; The two just sitting on a bench, enjoying the atmosphere and the ocean in front of them.
"What took ya so long?"
Spinel asked with a chuckle, Maxim chuckling with a shrug and a small blush,
"I was trying to figure out what kind of drink You'd like… Went with a strawberry milkshake."
He smiled, offering her the beverage as she took it with an nod,
"And what'cha got for yaself, Maxie?"
She asked with intrigue, the nickname making him blush more as he chuckles to himself,
"…t'heheh, Only some ice tea, nothing too crazy."
He shrugged anew,
"…Though, what did ya get for us in terms o' snacks?"
He inquired as he sat down next to her, before looking at the box on her lap,
"Ah, i didnt know what you'd like as well so i trusted my gut!"
She shrugged with a chuckle, opening the box to reveal donuts, in many diffirent hues and with diffirent sprinkled toppings. He had to admit, they looked pretty damn good… though what did catch his eye is the donut that was a wee bit deformed, more triangle-like than circular, and with his hues to match - White, Purple, and Green. Spinel hummed as she gently tilted her head as she watched Maxim's focused expression,
"…Ya ok there, pal?"
At hearing her voice he shook his head, blinking,
"Y-yeah i am, just was intrigued that you got my favourite kind, is all."
He chuckled softly, pointing to the chocolate covered donut, as she hums, smiling as she let him take it.
They enjoyed the treats and drinks, as well as eachother's time as they looked into the vast ocean before them, soon enough the park quieting down as they sat side by side, Maxim softly humming a melody from time to time, seemingly trying to catch on to a specific melody but changing it always to make it seem diffirent, Not that Spinel exactly noticed, she admittedly just found listening to his humming to be rather calming, no matter how odd or intriguing the melody could sound. Soon enough, she found herself feeling somewhat tired, the day was rather eventful after all so it was only fair, as she softly yawned, stretching out, as Maxim looked at her in intrigue.
"You feeling ok, Spinel?"
He asked softly, noticing Spinel's sleepy state,
"..Yeah, peachy, just kinda tired."
Spinel muttered, stretching out again,
"Today was super fun, but i think it's time to hit the hay."
He looked at her, honestly not feeling tired one bit, as he hums,
"Yeah, think it's time indeed… Yet, will we meet eachother again soon?"
He inquired, polite and curious as ever,
"Pff, of course you dork! Let's meet up right here, tommorow. Sound good?"
She chuckled, to which Maxim smiled,
"Yeah, sounds good."
He watched as Spinel waved him goodbye, going away to where he presumed would be her home, as he hummed, today's whole events re-playing in his mind as he looked on blankly, stuck in his thoughts, and before he knew it, t'was nightfall.
"…Hm. Think i might get used to this."
He muttered, moving his head around to stretch out his neck, as he stood up, and marched away to the exit, a soft smile on his face as he thought of his new friend, and the fun times he spent with her at day.

3.0 out of 5 stars Another crappy glued binding
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good This review is for those deciding between the Deluxe editions and the TPB's. As several reviews have mentioned the binding on the Deluxe edition could be better. The binding is pretty stiff and the art goes right up to the interior edge of the page. So at the start and end of the book it is really hard to see the detail near the center. This was annoying, but not a deal breaker. Once you get into the book you don't really notice it.However, the pages are glossy in the Deluxe edition (compared to the TPB's that I have seen) and so the art looks much better. After handling both editions, I think the Deluxe edition will last a lot longer as well.At the end of the day, I decided to go with the Deluxe edition. The prices are almost identical and the glossy pages make up for the subpar binding. I don't regret this decision. After seeing the page quality in the TPB's I felt like the only two options were to wait for the "Absolute" editions or buy the Deluxe editions. But the deluxe editions are only up to issue 45 (as of Summer 2012) so waiting for the "Absolute" editions could be a very long wait. Go to Amazon
5.0 out of 5 stars Pure fun Prince Charming is a womanizer. Goldilocks is a communist. The Big Bad Wolf is a hard-boiled detective. And they're all living in present-day New York. The premise may be ridiculous, but the execution is so masterful that it's reminiscent of nothing less than Neil Gaiman's Sandman. It's an engrossing new mythology, full of humor but tinged with darkness. Forget Disney's "Enchanted"--this graphic novel is very much for adults, the story of a struggling underground community of exiles. The art is excellent, the characters are memorable (of course, we already know most of them in some form or another) and the writing is top-notch.This volume was my introduction to Fables, so I can't compare it to other editions. (This hardcover is equivalent to the first two softcover volumes.) If you already have the comics in some other form, then there's little reason to upgrade to this "Deluxe Edition," which has few extras. But the production quality of this slim, glossy hardcover is very good. It was clearly made to last. I look forward to passing this down to my children some day--when they're old enough. Go to Amazon
5.0 out of 5 stars It's very easy to get into these stories after the game I've decided to try these comics out after completing The Wolf Among Us, which impressed me A LOT. The first book is a great way to move your adventure from Wolf Among Us to Fables. The quality of the book itself is great, it is printed greatly. You can have some troubles from time to time to see the center between pages, but there's nothing to look for most of the times, just some decorative parts. These books series are all designed in the same way, so this Fables Deluxe collection will look absolutely great on your shelf. If you're new to this universe, I would personally recomend to complete the game (The Wolf Among Us) first and then buy a book. I think, you won't be disappointed! Go to Amazon
5.0 out of 5 stars Imagine all the fairy tales were true? I won't lie...I never read Fables before blind buying this volume. I did hear for awhile just how great the series was, but somehow i put it off. I can't, and won't now. I'm hooked. You will look at characters you are already established with, but now knowing in a different light. I mean who would have ever thought you'd see The Wolfman as a detective? I don't know what these issues looked like when they were originally released on the grade of paper they were on, but this deluxe edition really lets the art shine. My biggest concern is the release schedule...I love the deluxe format of the title, but in the introduction writer Bill Willingham mentions how these will be released yearly....I hope more often than that, because many volumes are out already in trades. I however want to hold out on the deluxe editions, so it will be tough dealing with the delay in getting more Fables in my diet! Go to Amazon
