ive watched digimon adventure 2020 like 7 times and i think i deserve to infodump about it >:)
‼️SPOILER WARNING‼️
first of all - whats with all the taichi/yamato parallels?? like- i get ith they were present in DA (1999) and a bit in DA 02 but not as much as in the reboot. (BUT WHERE IS THE VENOMVAMDEMON SCENE WHERE THEY HOLD HANDS HUH??? TOEI EXPLAIN YOURSELF—)
second - I. LOVE. THE. ANIMATION. especially in the fighting scenes?? like holy shit- istg toei looked at their budget and put it all into the fighting sequences.
third - i was a bit skeptical going into this because we get omegamon immediately (2nd/3rd episode) which is weird since for DA we get it in the movie (not even in the series!!!) but it was scripted and played well (the episode where he appears is titled "war game" hehe) plus omegamon being a sort of otherworldly digimon that can pass through time and space was really cool :)
fourth - negamon is a bitch, like- algomon did *everything* from gathering data to helping with milleniumon's rebirth and all- AND THE BITCH IS THE FINAL BOSS?? mf is a fat spoiled mommy's boy that grew up thinking everithing was his (he did get his ass handed to him so i can respect that)
fifth - etemon and volcamon are married you can't change my mind
fifth 2.0 - OGREMON MY BABY WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE :((( (he did come back as rebellimon but still) him and leomon were deffo married in DA
sixth - i really love the fact that devimon (once he died) wasn't a 100% jerk, he helped takeru and patamon by giving them a hit on negamon and helped seraphimon not to lose himself during the last fight :)
seventh - the fact that digiworld itself called the digidestined is>>>
seventh 1.2 - i loved the fact that during the crest hunt they didn't have to find the ultimate level or smth like that but had to find themselves (i am mad at the digevolutions' order was but still-) i think that the main reason why taichi's compass was all wonky like that was because he had to connect with everyone by seeing them being the best themselves.
eight - i didnt really like how they prioritized taichi over everyine else- like i get it- hes the leader and all but still i wanted more episodes focousing on the other members of the group like DA did :( (he is my fav charavter so im not complaining lol-)
ninth - THE COLOURS!!!!!! IM AN ARTIST AND THE COLOUR REP AND PLACEMENT WAS 🔝🔝🔝 everytime we got a zoomed out view of the current fight and each of thrm became like a colored star i screamed
tenth - i think that's it for now?? bc nothing comes to my mind anymore lol- ANYHOW this show was very different from its 1999 original but still absolutely enjoyable 9.5/10 i took .5 off because there were A LOT of fillers (especially between wargreymon amd metalgarurumon) and for a series titled "digimon adventure" i expect every episode to be a bit more adventurous? i guess?? (the most unnecessary one imo was mimi-chan wars (ep 37) for me mimi behaved in avery annoying and bossy/demanding way that i generally didn't like :(
other than that i really hope that they make DA 02's reboot too because it would be so fun :)

If the other seasons had permanent deaths like Tamers, what impact do you think that would have on each seasons' plot and characters?
(After a summer of hell, I'm finally getting a bit of downtime, so going back and answering some interesting questions stuck in the Inbox!)
There's no question that characters in seasons where Digimon are reborn are more apprehensive. Look at how Mimi reacts when they discover the Village of Beginnings was destroyed. Things suddenly get a lot more real for her. So to be in a season where everything is permanent would be shocking for the kids.
But that's also selling short the impact of losing a Digimon that gets reborn. We've seen characters like Takeru and Ken still have scarring from it. It's not to the degree of a Juri or a Maki, but no characters are going to risk losing their partners just because there's a failsafe.
Thinking about it season by season, the real impact may be felt in how the characters engage other Digimon:
Adventure: Minimal impact. They were already terrified to lose their own Digimon and by the time they were pretty desensitized to killing Digimon, deaths were already permanent (pending the Dark Masters' defeat).
Zero Two: If deaths were permanent, other than Ken not getting his redemption arc, Miyako and Iori may get way more vocal about not finishing off enemy Digimon and Takeru and Hikari may be more receptive to those pleas. Could change some things that way!
Frontier: There's so much scanning going on that it's hard to see how permanent death would even work in this world. One of the key mechanics is that the data always seems to go somewhere, and changing that really shifts the whole series around.
Savers: If permanent death were always a thing, DATS's methods are pretty brutal early in the series and Kurata is only half as ominous. Show really loses its luster. And poor Piyomon!
Xros Wars: It's the default state for most of the series, and one thing Shoutmon's trying to correct, so no practical impact here.
Appmon: At no point do the kids actually kill an Appmon themselves and they don't realize rebirth is possible until they need it, so no actual impact! Unless you want to add permadeath, in which case the show reaches a Bad End after 37 episodes.
Adventure: (2020): I mean, it takes away one of the final villain's motives, so pretty significant impact actually. The never-ending cycle of war between light and dark is a recurring theme here, so ending it through permanent death makes it like Frontier where it's hard to perceive what would be left.
Ghost Game: Underrated impact, if only because Hiro uses that as solace the one time he is forced to kill. As little as it's used, things would get a lot harder for him without rebirth, and it wouldn't surprise me for reborn Digimon to appear later in the series.

A post with the moments Taichi and Sora were soft for/to/with each other in DA:2020 + Agumon and Piyomon being their mirrors
DIGIMON ADVENTURE:2020 SPOILERS!!!!
Hi and welcome to my 'Vote Taiora soulmates 2k21' series. This post is basically part 3 of that. I'm a mess, I know...
Part 1: Taiora being starstruck babies | Part 2: The platonic!Taiora connection in Kizuna
PERSONAL NOTE: Once again me here saying that yes this is Taiora and no that doesn't mean I'm trying to sell romantic!Taiora like it's some kind of truth. I just highly believe they are soulmates and soulmates don't have to be romantic AT ALL. Even better, your soulmate can be your platonic best friend while you're in a romantic relationship with someone completely else. Just saying.
And yes, I am a Taiora shipper and I do see and adore the romantic potential of these two. But that doesn't mean everyone has to see it. Platonic!Taiora is beautiful and precious and that's something I vouch for!
There has been floating so much negativity on the internet regarding the Digimon Adventure reboot and even though I'm not loving it either, there are some things I enjoy. I already once pointed out I really like the soundtrack, hell, I even made this little choreography on the theme song for @digiweek 2021 day 3 (prompt music). But that aside, in this post I want to spread some love for the Taiora portrayal in the series, because let's face it, they are super soft (and pretty much ride or die) for each other!
I could ramble and talk about things... OR I could just bomb you guys with the screencaps I gathered! I mean, those reboot 2020 kids don't talk and bicker as much as their original 1999 counterparts do, so why should I?
And you know what 2020!Taichi and 2020!Sora are really good at? Having the same (s o f t) facial expressions to each other, radiating the same energy, touching and physically supporting each other because they are soulmates~. See it for yourself :D
It starts with Taichi looking at his bestie Sora to check if she's safe on the DIY raft while listening to the sweet conversation about fighting together she just had with her newfound Digimon partner in episode 4.
Tumblr media
Look at that proud bestie grin. Such a cutie.
Then fast forward to how they are supportingly touchy together..! Two times, in episode 32 and 36. I mean, what's up with that??! Go hug each other already like true childhood bffs do nowadays.
Tumblr media
I sense proud mom and dad vibes, what about you? (Also note Piyomon and Agumon in the left one, such cuties <3)
Next up, in episode 37, is Sora being SUPER ride or die for Taichi literally jumping into the water true superhero style to safe the day.! And safe Taichi and Agumon from their stupidity (which is like super low key stupidity compared to OG!Taichi)
Tumblr media
This is my personal favorite, episode 40, Sora talking all fast and excited about the passion they share, football/soccer (<- this depends on where you live, I prefer to say football because you play that ball with your damn foot!!!), and how she just LOVES playing it with HIM.
Tumblr media
And Taichi is all like "Hell yeah girl, of course I can tell! Preach"
Then in the same episode we find these two pearls (among many other pearls, just go watch that episode yourself already)! Sora looking all soft and concerningly happy to have found her berry-fied bestie. And Sora being glinstering-eyes-happy (like, is she crying??) to see that said bestie back to his human self again!
Tumblr media
Okay. There is episode 50, the one with the music I liked and where Taichi resurrects/just resurrected for the big fight and the kiddos trapped in the black ball in the mouth of Milleniummon all scream his name for Taichi to resurrect ONCE AGAIN talking about suffering from portagonist-trope-disease huh?. There are three people Taichi hears screaming his name seperated from the rest and it's rival lover Yamato, baby sis Hikari and CHILDHOOD BESTIE SORA. And let me tell you, when I'd heard her screaming his name in the agonizing way she did, yes, I would have resurrected too if I were Taichi.
Then we of course have that whole Hououmon 'safety first' episode 52. See me ranting and screaming about it in my 'part 1' of this series.
And THEN it's time for the most recent episode, episode 62, where Taichi and Sora reunite and Sora gives Taichi THIS SOFT FACE after she says "The Chosen Ones aren't just here to fight, you know?"
Tumblr media
Sora, my baby!!! You can drag me away now, I'm done with this big ride or die softie <333
And you know what's the best part? After the fight with Shakkoumon, which isn't really a fight with Sora following her own words and instead of fighting the Mon talking herself into the heart of the Mon, Taichi REPEATS Sora's words by saying "The role of the Chosen Ones isn't just to fight, huh..." followed by Taichi giving Sora HIS SOFT FACE!!
Tumblr media
I'mma repeat myself, but find yourself a guy that looks at you the way Taichi looks at Sora. SO SOFT. OH MY GOD, TAICHI MARRY ME PLEASE. (No please don't, that's weird x'D) I swear, they even tilt their head in the same freaking angle!! This could be cheap animation suffering from 'same face syndrom', but I like to believe that Taichi has watched her, seen the expression she gave him and literally M I R R O R E D I T. This was the whole episode for me, best thing ever.
Also, in that same episode we see THIS:
Tumblr media
Even their digimon partners are super ride or die for each other..!! If I had to ship digimon with each other, it would definitely be Agumon and Piyomon (and Gomamon, I'll get to that in a bit). And yes, I know it's a big stretch to let Garudamon, a perfect level digimon, intercept the freaking attack from Wargreymon, an ultimate level digimon, that destroyed Milleniummon 12 episodes ago... It's a bit unbelievable, BUT a) Garudmon is a freaking badass, b) THAT'S WHAT BESTIES DO! And the fact Sora is pretty much ride or die for Taichi, means Piyomon/Garudamon is pretty much ride or die for Agumon/Wargreymon too, no matter the evolution level.
Also, let me point out this little scene under water in episode 35 where Piyomon teases Agumon. Really, I think that's so cute and vouches for the friendship they mirror from the friendship their human partners have!
Tumblr media
Actually, isn't it funny that the humans in the reboot hardly tease each other and bicker compared to the original cast and it's the digimon who took over the teasing?
Last but not least, there's one picture left, the end of episode 43. Piyomon and Agumon asleep leaning into each other for support (and Gomamon being cute joining this weird-ass digimon-OT3 I just love!) while on the very right of the frame we see Taichi and Sora laughing/talking together in a super cute way, probably talking about their profound friendship and how they will be football buddies and besties for life :') Also important: they are the only humans in this scene (and then I'm talking about the others not present in this frame too) that are 'seperated' from and not focusing on their digimon, instead they are focusing on each other.
Tumblr media
So there you have it. Okay, there might be more moments, but hey, I only get 10 pics per post. If you still don't believe in these two being soulmates in some kind of way... I have no idea how to convince you otherwise.

Digimon Adventure: 2020 – Episode 37: Mimi-chan Wars (Review)
Thoughts on the thirty-seventh episode of the Digimon Adventure reboot series.
This was a fun filler episode! But . . . still a filler episode. XD;
Sora: “Oh, Hikari-chan and Takeru-kun, make sure you two don’t go too far.” Mama Sora! We love to see it. :D
Patamon continues to be the cutest Digimon ever. <3 And his contrast with Tailmon is funny, lol.
A tree really broke because Taichi pushed it? Really? This kid is something else. :P Also, I have to say . . . what a lame way to split the group up again - even if it’s just temporary. ~_~
Mimi: “The wave of social issues have already reached this Digital World.” And the guttural noise she uttered, LOL. So passionate and feisty. She’s great!
Mimi: “I’ll never forgive them! . . . How could they hog a load of gemstones?!” LMAO. Oh, Mimi. Never change. (Also, for future reference, her grandfather is Genichiro Tachikawa - chairman of Tachikawa Heavy Industries.)
Taichi and Sora being called Mimi’s servants again - No. 72 and No. 73 - was nice. I’m surprised this writing staff actually remembered something from a past episode eons ago, with how things have been going for a while now . . .
I guess Komondomon falling asleep “at the wheel” is kind of funny . . . :P
LOL at Mimi just following the gems and creating a Plan B. Also, the way she runs is . . . XD;
Taichi was more likeable in this episode than he has been for a while, but I can’t help but miss how amazing his dynamic with Mimi is in the OG. I liked Michi there, but here . . . Taichi is still just too dull for me to care.
Gogmamon looks cool. I bet Mimi wishes she was made out of crystals, too. :D
Golemon lost his head/entire body . . . and his detached head still spoke, lol. Kind of weird for a kids’ show, but OK.
Mimi giving “her” diamond for Lillymon to use in her attack: “I have other things that are more precious!” Awww. How can you not love Mimi? She definitely has the most personality out of all the kids by far. And she’s caring to boot!
Sora came riding in Greymon’s arms and I remembered she was part of Taichi and Mimi’s “group” too, loool. Oh, Toei. Your treatment of Sora is forever abysmal.
Mimi: “Hey! The word ‘company’ has another meaning besides ‘workplace’! And that’s . . . ‘friends’!” Bless her. Watch out, Yamato, she’s coming for your Crest . . . wait, what’s Yamato’s Crest again? You can address this at any time, reboot. Go on. I dare you. :D :D :D
Next week’s episode preview: YA-FUCKING-MATO IN DA HOUSE!!! Finally. I’m so hyped! Yamato has been riding Garurumon for two months . . . only to find Jou at the end of his never-ending journey. How disappointing for him! XD;
All in all, this was just a fun filler episode. Mimi really shined. I’m glad she actually took up most (?) of the screen time and Taichi wasn’t shoehorned in for 90% of the episode. Though, the reboot did shove Koushirou, Takeru and Hikari to the side for this to happen . . . and took Sora “along” for the ride as well, but then also shoved her aside, LOL.
I’m not against filler, but I think this series really needs to focus on actual plot development as well. Every episode should matter. I love Mimi’s personality - but I’m sure they could’ve utilised it just as well in an episode that mattered. Still, this was fun! I enjoyed it more than the past several episodes, that’s for sure.

Further original commentary under ‘read more’!
A golem, {in Jewish texts and Jewish folklore} is a clay creature that has been magically brought to life. The name comes from the Hebrew word “golem,” which means something incomplete or unfinished, like an embryo.
In popular legend, however, the golem became a kind of folk hero. Tales of mystical rabbis creating life from dust abounded, particularly in the Early Modern period, and inspired such tales as Frankenstein and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”  Sometimes the golem saves the Jewish community from persecution or death, enacting the kind of heroism or revenge unavailable to powerless Jews. Often, however, Jewish folktales about the golem tell what happens when things go awry — when the power of life-force goes astray, often with tragic results.
The classic narrative of the golem tells of how Rabbi Judah Loew of Prague (known as the Maharal; 1525-1609) creates a golem to defend the Jewish community from antisemitic attacks. But eventually, the golem grows fearsome and violent, and Rabbi Loew is forced to destroy it. (Legend tells that the golem remains in the attic of the Altneushul in Prague, ready to be reactivated if needed; this legend reappeared in Michael Chabon’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay). Likewise in Paul Wegener’s expressionist film The Golem (1920), the golem is a brutish creature whose powers are all-too-easily turned to destructive ends.
This is, of course, a perfect encapsulation of the same anxiety that underlies so much of the mystical speculation about demons, dybbuks, ghosts, and golems: The power of life is so strong, that it brings both promise and terror.

OPs commentary:
Before talking about in-depth or ‘reviewing’ this episode, I’d very much like if the fanbase could keep in mind not only the said folklore that blatantly inspired this Digimons’ design and canonical lores, but also be careful in their commentaries about this episode as a result.
They are a very specifically Jewish folklore, and within our storytelling tradition are pretty complex creatures created to protect, but with potential for destruction. Often golems are taken out of that context, by people who are not Jewish, to be used just as monsters.
For many folks that isn’t an issue, but for others (myself included) that feels a bit uncomfortable, as the (perhaps unintended) message can be seen as “creatures that protect Jewish people are really monsters.”
[Keeping this information] in mind and being AWARE of the history of the golem in our folklore will prevent issues relevant to handling this topic. {Especially if you are considering either commentating on the character itself, the story within the episode portrayed along with it, or using or referring to the character within future fanworks.}

Digimon Adventure 2020 eps 30-37
Assorted rambling about these eps below!
Okay, I finally caught up, but I’m... Maybe using that term loosely. I may have skipped a lot of each episode.
But I can’t deal with the constant, super long fights. They’re so BORING. There’s no real suspense in them, they go on too long, and there’s hardly ever any important character development going on in them. So I totally skipped through most of them. However, I do have opinions on some stuff.
Hey, Wargreymon shows up officially. Very underwhelmingly at this point, but whatever.
HIKARI AND TAILMON ARE MY DAUGHTERS AND NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO CRITICIZE THEM
But no really I actually like what they’re doing with their relationship in this. One of the big things people had been wondering was how Hikari would join the group and what Tailmon’s situation would be, and I think this is a pretty neat parallel for the original story. Obviously things are different, but Tailmon’s struggle and Hikari’s love for her are both so good and feel like a callback to the original series without just being a retelling. I’m pleased with it so far.
I actually said WHAT??? outloud when Pegasusmon showed up, but it was a good what. Very cool way to give Patamon an evolution without making Angemon lose his effect.
All of the cult Vademon are so creepy and yet also hilarious. The disappointed noise they made when the ritual was stopped was way funnier than it should’ve been.
KOUSHIROU IS ALSO MY CHILD and omgggg his episode was so good. Again, another parallel without being a retelling, calling back to the card puzzle and Taichi leaving their fate up to Koushirou and having full faith in him to succeed. I loved the idea for this episode too, in reaching through the network to the real world, and it was the coolest damn thing when his crest flashed across the mission control screens.
I barely watched the Mimi ep since it was obviously pure filler but I love that Mimi apparently paid attention to business stuff and has strong opinions about being fair to workers. Also they’re very much setting up her theme in the original of bonding with whatever Digimon they meet just through how genuinely sweet of a person she is, which I’m here for.
Looks like Jyou and Yamato teamup next ep and I’m here for it!

Digimon Astrology Journey - Independent women: Sora & Mimi
For references, more understanding and background, make sure to read my posts about basic Astrology 101! Part 1 | Part 2.
A fire Sun/Moon placement combined with a strong Taurus placement... Look out for Femme Fatales! They have a natural beauty, are bold, sensual, strong and creative. Sora and Mimi both have all of that, even though they have very different personalities. Most likely because Sora’s Rising placement balances out her Sun and Moon with compassion and caring protectiveness while Mimi’s big three is here to be a princess and to live for the applause whenever she feels like.
Tumblr media
See it like this: Sora takes care with passion, Mimi wants to be passionately taken care for every once in a while.
The important stuff
Sora Takenouchi, March 21st 1988 (around 11AM)
Sun: Aries (fire-cardinal)
Moon: Taurus (earth-fixed)
Rising: Cancer (water-cardinal)
Mimi Tachikawa, July 24th 1989 (around 11.30PM)
Sun: Leo (fire-fixed)
Moon: Aries (fire-cardinal)
Rising: Taurus (earth-fixed)
Charts and analyses under read more!
Beware!: I calculated their birthdays by assigning them a Sun and Moon placement. All of this is NOT CANON! It’s inspired by/based on the canon. I use these analyses and their headcanon birth charts as a reference/character sheet for -as an example- my own fanfiction. Of course be my guest to use these for your own, but remember it’s just someone else’s (in this case it being my) headcanon ;) Some credit, a reblog or a like when used is appreciated.
Sora Takenouchi - March 21st 1988
Tumblr media
We do know in Our War Game, Taichi gave her that hairpin for her birthday in the Spring break between 5th and 6th grade (for her 12th birthday). Conclusion: she probably has her birthday somewhere between March 20th and April 6th (even when it’s not canon? I once read that her birthday is not canon even though the movie implies her birthday is around that time…). Meaning two things: she is either an Aries Sun or a Pisces Sun. I went for the Aries Sun, because I feel like the Pisces is too ‘dreamy’ for her. Her Sun however is on the thin line between Pisces and Aries (even better: if she was born around midnight on the same day, she would have been a Pisces!). So she is an Aries, but her Aries Sun will probably be highly influenced by Pisces.
An Aries Sun is independent, determined and has a strong physical appearance. These Suns NEED sport or some kind of physical and practical activity to feel good, which in Adventure turns into Sora’s absolute and passionate love for soccer. The determination and independency can be seen in DA episode 26 when she stands up against her mother because of soccer even though her knee is hurt. However, that independency and determination is more often towards or for the sake of others, for example when Sora takes off on her own to secretely help her friends. This probably comes from her Sun placement close to Pisces, making her more compassionate and sensitive than any other Aries Suns. And it’s due to her Rising placement.
Intermezzo: Reboot 2020 Sora is more of an Aries than her original counterpart. I know the character building in the Reboot isn’t that good -or even not existing at all-, but looking through the Astro-glasses, I do see some character. Reboot Sora fits perfectly in this chart!
Sora is a Cancer Rising. Cancer Risings are, even more than the Cancer Suns, protective of others. Cancer Risings tend to see everything or otherwise WANT to see everything. They’re not nosy, they just want to check on you and make sure you’re safe, healthy and happy. This is in fact Sora in a nutshell.
Taking care of others is their priority number one and that’s exactly what Sora does all the time. Cancer is often called the mother of the Zodiac, a title she is given every once in a while. In Tri episode 10 (Confession pt 1) Meiko says “You’re just like a mom”, and Meiko is someone who doesn’t know Sora for that long. Even she sees, feels and experiences it, making Sora a natural mom-like protector.
And even though that motherly role is not something what she wants to achieve, it comes natural to Sora. There are more DigiDestined with Cancer placements, but somehow it’s Sora who they call a mom all the time. Her Aries Sun makes her passionate and determined, while her Cancer Rising makes her care and protect. This Aries-Cancer dynamic gives her a mom-like character you can’t get around.
Sora’s first reaction after Meiko calls her a mom is annoyance and a way of denying and is most likely her Aries-Cancer dynamic. Cancers have a hard shell and they like to keep it that way. Aries can say and feel things before thinking it through. Her face and reaction is a mix of that Cancer’s shell, not wanting to admit she is a mom, and Aries’ impulsiveness, an immediate and bold reaction. (However, it could also be her Moon speaking.)
Cancer Rising makes her sensitive, protective and caring. Place it next to her Aries Sun and she is a bold and independent person with a strong emotional touch. Put her Moon in Taurus next to all of that and she becomes a perceptive human being.
Taurus Moons are highly disciplined, can be somewhat stubborn and crave stability. They like to show others they have everything under control, all the while their bodies extremely react to stress, making Taurus Moons very emotional and (inwardly) reactive people. This could be the explanation why Sora is having such a hard time putting her feelings into words or even doesn’t want to talk about her emotions at all, even when she has these very strong, physical and intuitive feelings and emotions from time to time. So whenever she does have her words ready, she won’t say it, because she thinks about the other first. It’s likely for Sora to bottle everything up and when she can’t hold it any much longer, it will all come out at once.
With her Mars placement in Capricorn -making her ambitious, feel responsible and act thoughtful- on top of it all, she might has the tendency to overwork herself and go into these downward spirals. Especially when she feels -in both her work and private live- like she can not mean anything to others. This is likely due to her MC = Midheaven (career and calling) in Pisces which makes Sora humble and very ambitious in helping others. And here it comes: preferably through sports or art! Maybe that’s why she is suddenly drawn into Ikebana. And I feel like she isn’t an ordinary fashion designer, but someone who wants to help others feel good through her designs.
Also a Taurus Moon can make one very traditional, which is the case with Sora. In Adventure she caves more into standing up against her mother, which is more of the Aries-Taurus dynamic: stubborn and determined. Later on, especially in Kizuna, it turns into working with her mother which could be the Cancer-Taurus dynamic. And When she chooses for herself in Kizuna, she’s fully into her big three, using them all three equally. Well, if that isn’t growing up… No shit she was the first one to lose her partner (which I still think is so sad…).
Mimi Tachikawa - July 24th 1989
Tumblr media
To me, Mimi is WITHOUT A DOUBT a Leo Sun. And also without a doubt a Taurus Rising! Making her a very very very fierce lady. With an extra emphasize on lady. Her Aries Moon makes her even more bold.
As you can see, her Leo Sun placement is on the thin line with Cancer, which means Cancer influences her Leo Sun and makes her more caring towards others whenever it’s needed. But: the Leo Sun is charismatic and can have a big ego. This is pointed out by Koushiro in Tri episode 6 (Determination pt 2). That ego could make Mimi chose for herself and the people that affect her directly in a certain situation first. Her Taurus Rising and Aries Moon will probably emphasize that even more. Let me be clear: that’s not a bad thing! It’s a good thing knowing what you want and need. And Mimi is a good at that! In comparison to Sora, Mimi is way better in letting others know what she really thinks and feels. In that same episode, just a view seconds before Koushiro puts her in her place, she says she is “sick of Palmon and the others being critisized”. Mimi is honest and sincere, of course she has the Crest of Sincerity/Purity!
Leo Suns tend to be bossy, they like to boss around and delegate, something we see Mimi is very good at in the series. When she acts and dresses like a princess in Adventure episode 25, in the second arc of Tri (Determination) with her ‘Daters café’, even in the DA: 2020 reboot twice (episodes 6 and 37). She is a princess and a queen, but let’s not forget she can be an awefully good leader and Mimi is an amazing entrepreneur foremost!
Whatever you think of Leo Suns, they are organized, can be very inspirational, work hard and are very creative. As an entrepreneur myself I can tell that those are the traits you have to possess if you want to make it into the business world. Mimi with her Leo Sun is all up for that! Seeing her starting up her own business in Kizuna is so suiting for her and with this amazing birth chart, it MUST be her calling. Even her Midheaven is in Capricorn, which makes her ambitious, hard working and possibly a tough business woman! She is very practical and needs to immediately act, do stuff.
As for her Taurus Rising, funny thing with this placement is they can have these explosive tantrums, something we could see with Sora too. However, Sora gets angry and passionate after she bottled things up for too long. Mimi on the other hand just passionately rants when she thinks and feels is the right thing to do. Again I refere to the specific moment in Tri, but there are probably a lot more of these moments. Mimi is such a sweet girl, but in the end, she wants it her way and she will get it. She is stubborn, not to listen to any bullshit you have to say. She can be easily bored due to the Leo-Aries dynamic. Though to be clear, she isn’t shallow. Mimi just has a filter for bullshit and won’t budge easily, due to her Mercury in Leo too. However, when you do say something that moves her in whatever kind of way, she will act on that and makes sure it will work for her. This could partially be her Venus in Virgo, making her have the ability to be more critical to and reflective on her own values.
Back to Mimi’s Taurus Rising which wants security just like Sora’s Moon placement, but in case of the Rising placements Mimi finds that security more in materialistic comfort. Mimi likes to possess stuff and things. Clothes, accessories, plants, designer furniture, cute home decoration and more. Flying business class? Definitely her Taurus Rising in combination with her Leo Sun. Her Aries Moon makes her impulsive and that Moon in combination with all of the above makes her buy new things and stuff on impulse. Good thing the girl is rich!
Mimi’s Aries Moon was a placement I had to put some thought in, but I knew she had a fire Moon. In the end, Aries fits the bill. Aries Moons make act quick and impulsive which lead them straight into action. They have a need for independency, which makes Mimi’s Leo Sun more bold and independent. The Leo-Aries dynamic makes Mimi a natural leader, her Taurus-Leo dynamic makes her a sensual leader and her Aries-Taurus dynamic a inspirational leader. She is a leader, she just needs to make sure she doesn’t become too bossy. And she has to pay attention to not let her emotions rule her actions, which is very common with Aries Moons.
Mimi is a badass woman, but let’s not forget she has a soft side too. Again, Mimi’s Leo Sun will likely be influenced by Cancer, making her Leo Sun more protective towards others. Her Moon in her 12th House could imply she needs more alone time than others -and herself included- think. Her Venus in Virgo in her 5th House makes her more devoted and dedicated towards relationships, making her a caring and devoted friend (and lover). We see her devotion towards her own value and others in the Dark Masters arc in Adventure, when she makes a decision based on her own values and what she thinks is important to do. Mimi is not afraid to act and therefore she is beautiful and very strong!
Her Venus in Virgo love-wise could also mean she is held back when it comes to love and relationships. Not because she’s insecure, but because she is picky and very critical when it comes to her partners! Hahaha, can you imagine Mimi breaking things of with someone, because he or she or they doesn’t meet up to her standards? Because I definitely can.
For an end note on both girls: People with a Taurus placement (mainly a Taurus Sun, but I’m using the freedom of intepretation rn) in the Big three are often called ‘natural beauties’. I think that’s very accurate with these two gorgeous anime ladies, don’t you agree??
Also bonus: strong, very caring and loving friendship between these two that can go the distance <3

Digimon Adventure psi review up to 20. What I expected...
Perhaps my feelings are my own fault. Perhaps I didn’t have my expectations low enough. When we first heard about DIgimon 2020, it seemed like a fun new territory. THe poster and summary made it seem like the chosen would be in different groups tackling incidents in the Digital and Real world. It seemed we have even have Hikari and Takeru at the start of the series and maybe more broaden upon character wise.
In the OG Adventure we met Tailmon in episode 28 i think? But  I don’t think Hikari really came into play until episode 37? Whenever they went to the Digital World. I always felt like we could have had more character exploration with Hikari. With Takeru, you could see him growing up from a crybaby.
I had hoped with this series we could see more justice for them.
The poster made it seem like everything was status quo to the OG Adventure. Jou being Jou, Yamato being serious boy riding Garurumon, Sora being the protective Mom, Takeru and Hikari seem to have a subplot with the heather. (Which they do! But not in the way I was expecting...)
The first couple episodes were good in introducing characters and their first evolutions were a little different, but most seemed earned.
It was when we started hitting Perfect level that I started to cheated by the series.
Again, Maybe just me, But I’ve always love the character charged evolutions. The ones that seemed earned and were a step in the right direction with their character arc. The ones one I can see being earned were Yamato.
Albeit, Yamato was being an asshole, you could still see he was learning to trust others and let them in.
Jou gaining courage to be more reliable or have faith in himself was a really good turn for him.
Everyone else felt meh. Mimi’s was good too. I just felt it was too soon for her evolution because we haven’t had much time to get to these characters. To see other Digimon hurt and her reaction to that.
Which leads to my next point, in the latest 3 parter with Tokyo, the kids are hiding in the broken up subway and are reminicing that they’ve been through a lot and that was their self talk to keep fightinh.
Now, this was a good scene and I enjoyed it. It’s just to me I feel that it would have been much more satisfying being a mid season episode. Not one where we hardly have seen these characters on their own.
I mean, sure, their have been pretty extreme. But never saw much reaction anyone. Yamato, Taichi, and SOra are always acting cool headed like they veterans. Never flinching at being attacked. So it makes a scene like this harder believe.
I haven’t las two episodes, but it sounds it follows the same tune. Nice and flashy fight scenes, but nothing really adds to the characters.
I had hoped since Takeru went to the Digital WOrld, Hikari would too.
I suppose it was naive of me to think that these two would somehow have had their adventure aside from the other 6. Or split up to really explore characterization.
I’m not sure if Adventure 2020 can make a comeback. We supposedly have 40 episodes left and everyone has already reached perfect level.
Edit: So yeah. I’m watching the latest episode which I think is episode 20, and it really feels out of place that there was no lead up to the scene of the two siblings. We really don’t know anything more than Matt having a sibling. And that’s it. There’s no real tension build up why they’re so desperate to reach for each other.

Spring Weebwatch #12
Tower of God ended this (well, last) week, and Digimon Adventure 2020 returned from plague-hiatus, so for the last week of Spring we’re actually back at covering three different shows.
Kami no Tou - Tower of God.
Tumblr media
★★★★☆
Much like In/Spectre before it, this is very much a ‘taking twenty minutes to tie off some loose ends and set things up for season two’ kind of episode. That just seems to be the mode Crunchyroll Originals are going to operate in.
But beyond that, we do get to see what Rachel was doing in the early parts of the story: Having entered the Tower, she discovered that she wasn’t the one it was calling (that was presumably -- although given what this story is like, not necessarily -- Bam) and, when she turned down Headon’s challenge, was forced to watch as Bam completed the challenge instead and ascended the Tower. Headon then informs her that she can ascend if she kills Bam, leading to a lot of conflict and indecision before she eventually decides to go through with it.
Between that and learning that Bam survived his drowning-in-a-substance-he’s-fully-capable-of-breathing, big shock, and that his survival was planned for by Overseer Guy and Redhaired Lady, who seem to be fermenting some kind of rebellion, we’ve started getting hints of a wider conflict. On one side, Jahad and his servants; on another side, whoever these rebels are; and on the third side, Headon and the Tower, who have their own agenda.
Tower of God has been pretty well-received, so it seems likely that Crunchyroll will shell out for a second series, but who knows.
Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS.
Tumblr media
★★★★☆
I’m going to level with you, if you told me that this episode would have Kana Hanazawa playing a 37 year old woman who for unexplained reasons looks like a perpetual 8 year old girl infiltrating the school to steal Yuga’s notebook, I -- actually, I probably would have believed you, honestly, because this is just what this show is like.
There’s both a really fun top layer of comedy here, with the characters coming ever so close to figuring out the ruse but never quite managing it, and a pair of girls anxiously noting how the spy keeps monologuing to herself; and a really deliciously acerbic comedic undercurrent. The ‘oh, she looks like an elementary schooler, but she’s actually a grown woman, teehee’ trope is a very well-worn and incredibly fucking creepy anime trope used to slip some pretty horrifying things by with a thin veneer of ‘no, she’s not a small child, really,’ -- so there’s something quite delightful about Sevens turning that trope on its head and viciously mocking it, getting rid of the creepy sexualisation and replacing it instead with jokes about how she has a mortgage.
This show really does keep marking itself out as the most charming and most solidly funny Yu-Gi-Oh series.
Digimon Adventure 2020.
Tumblr media
★★★★☆
We get Sora’s first focus episode this week, and my suspicion that this series isn’t as much of an AU as it claims only grows, as ... um, as ... I’ve just noticed there’s a butterfly made of light in the banner there, just behind Jyou. Weird. Where were we?
Right, my suspicion that this isn’t as much of an AU as it claims to be grows, as Piyomon is introduced to Sora, and realises that it’s her/remembers her only after being hugged, meaning that Sora must have hugged her before even though this is their first meeting. Suspicion.
Beyond that, this is a very Digimon episode, arguably even moreso than the first three: Adventure happens, monsters attack, someone evolves to get rid of the monsters, it’s the classic formula. Next episode, which seems set to destroy my theorising by providing us with more backstory, seems like it’ll hinge more on lore -- while also seeming like we’ll probably get Koushiro evolving Tentomon.
