Juracan's Turf is the name of the world these creatures live in. Although these are different breeds of the same species, at this point they are so genetically different that any hybrid offspring between two races would be infertile, if it hatches at all. So in hard scientific definitions they are separate species. But the Saurians still consider themselves as one.
The Giants live in the mountains. Razorscales on the other hand rule the desert of the southern continent. Finbacks have dominion over the rainforests of the center of the world, where one can find the seat of their great empire. Feathered and Snowy Saurians are both acclimated to the cold North, but only the latter has evolved to withstand the harsh tundra on the roof of the world. Snowy Saurians, rarest of the seven breeds, are also the only ones to have completely lost their protective belly plating in favour of more insulating feathers. The last feathered Saurian breed, known as the Flyers, make their home on a mysterious island far away. Finally, there are the walkers, the generalists of the Saurians. They can be found in all corners of Juracan’s Turf and are as hardy as they are versatile.
That brings us to our main character trio. Sponge the Giant, Knives the feathered, and Dragon the Finback.
I hope to tell their story at some point in the form of a comic series. I think it would be fun. I mean, what’s not to love about a gaggle of misfit theropods fighting giant dinosaur skeletons that are also on fire?

[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled "immortality” after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as “do not stand at my grave and weep”). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, “do not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.” page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, “i am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.” the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.” the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, “i am not there. i did not die” / end id]

text from porter robinson's "goodbye to a world"
every single animal in this comic is extinct. it's not too late for the ones that are left.
edit: thanks @mudcrabmassacre for the correction, smilodon fatalis did not in fact go extinct in 1023 AD. the actual prediction is around 10,000 years ago - I think i may have missed a zero or two.

I’ve also been thinking about which comic to do after I’m done with Mostly (h)Armless.
I’m on the fence between Juracan’s Turf and SKYWORLD.
Juracan’s turf is an epic tale set in a world with wizard theropods who fight gigantic skeleton dinosaurs that are also on fire.
Meanwhile Skyworld is a blender child of How to train your dragon, Star Wars, Pacific Rim and Atlantis the lost empire. Featuring alien, rocket powered dragons with 8 eyes and 6 thumbs called the Felcron and they are ridden by people with Iron Man gear and they fight titanic kaiju that dwarf godzilla in the open skies of a gas planet.
I…I just like giant monsters okay?
Anyway I don’t know which to take. So that means I’ll probably end up doing both at the same time. Pray for me.
