We visited Red Fleet State Park and hiked the Dinosaur Trackway to the sandstone cliffs and lake side cave North of the park. The trail takes you past several sandstone formations and lake views down to the mouth of the cave. Dinosaur Tracks are visible in the red clay slope above the cave. Look close for the tridactyl (three toed) prints. We found them up near the interpretive signs. We also hiked the campground and found it's just a short paddle from the beach or boatramp to the caves if you have a SUP or Kayak. Tattoo concept variations. I'm leaning for just solid black, but I'm playing for it moving into fall leave colors, but I think with my skin it's probably going to work best as a black and white.

Much of my journey for this trip has been following collections and ancient trackways, and looking at the scaled down modern dinosaurs we are living with now. So I sampled some 3 toed Jurassic footprints, with Allosaurus being the largest, Eubrontes gigantes (possibly Dilophosaurus or a close cousin), Ceolophysis, and the last 2 are little ones are modern Corvids, a Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos), and a Bluejay (Cyanocitta cristata).

I know it's not as chronologically accurate as I would like, but the visual sizing works, and the time period kind of does for the types of rocks around the Connecticut River Valley and Western, Massachusetts, plus I get to use the Eubrontes which is a specific example from that area.

Anyway, I'm thinking of getting it done tomorrow at the smaller scale in the 4th image.

Today we woke up in Kayenta on the Navajo Indian Reservation and drove to #tubacity (also #navajo nation lands) to see the famous #dinosaurtracks We then entered the #geological masterpiece that is #grandcanyonnationalpark Nearly a mile deep, 10 miles wide and cutting down through 2 billion years of sedimentary layers it truly is one of the world's greatest #geosites - #simplyamazing At the #grandcanyon we walked the #trailoftime seeing all the rocks of the different layers laid out. We also hiked down the first part the #southkaibabtrail to experience being inside the #canyon (at Grand Canyon National Park)
