the night raid scene in the iliad is really fun for a lot of reasons but honestly one of the best parts is when diomedes is trying to pick who's going to go with him on the raid and agamemnon is like "WELL diomedes we all KNOW that there are CERTAIN PEOPLE (coughodysseuscough) better suited to this task than others so don't feel like you need to pick someone for their STATUS such as the BROTHER OF THE COMMANDER just because you feel pressured by SOCIAL NORMS" because he doesn't want menelaus to go on the raid and get his ass kicked
