Diluc be crushing

Summary: reader is Diona’s older sister and also the crush of Diluc Ragvindr who is not just the prime bachelor of Mondstadt but also the prime heating pad for Mondstadt’s cats. Diona is angy about it thou

Diluc didn’t know what to do. He’d been trying to court his crush for a while but strangely enough Diona seemed to be interfering. If he left flowers she’d destroy them. He wondered if chocolates were even a good idea. Eventually he settled on meeting them himself. Something Diona was also not happy with.

Fortunately his crush was pretty friendly. They even asked if he’d like a room to himself as the cats seemed to swarm him. As they put it “with his vision he’s essentially a walking heating pad so many cats will prefer him.” He took their offer and asked if they’d like to play some TCG, something he didn’t indulge in too much but decided it was appropriate to do so. They accepted and they ended up talking for awhile. Diona kept trying to interrupt however but his beloved simply locked the doors and reminded Diona she had a job to do. Aftersome time Diluc sat on the couch so he could properly cuddle with the kitties. His beloved said she’d bring some snacks. But oh the gentle purr of the kitties, the comfy couch… the soft furrs. It was so comfortable. He hadn’t slept well either… surely a little nap couldn’t hurt…

Coming back to the room they were surprised to see him asleep. They poked him a bit until confirming he was. They were about to leave when they realized the cats now eating, had left him alone. Their cat instincts couldn’t help but wonder if he was warm too… they curiously pressed themselves against him to find indeed.. he was warm.. and cozy.. no wonder the cats loved him. Warm like the sunlight on a patch of grass. In his sleep he ended up wrapping his arms around them and oh! That was nice. His arms were so strong, and warm too… it felt so safe in his hold, you couldn’t help but purr slightly. A very quiet purr as you leaned against him, getting comfortable in his lap as you ended up falling asleep.

When Diluc awoke he was shocked to find you cuddled against him, purring too.. as well as a bit worried he wouldn’t make it to his other arrangements today… but that’s a small price to pay considering how utterly adorable his beloved looks like this.

NOTE: I have so much to say about the Poetry Gala Event because I enjoyed it so much. It's going to be lengthy but feel free to read me rambling haha.

I don't mean to be dramatic but... Chongyun enthusiasts, WE WON! I'm so happy that he was able to show up so much in this event! Like he actually got lines and so much screentime!! I know he always appears in Lantern Rite, but this just hits different. Did you see how fast he was talking and the way he did his little jump after having those chili peppers? XD Also the way he was giving Xingqiu some sass at the at the end of the story? Show him, Chongyun!

And I never thought I would be able to see two of my favorite characters in the same frame! This is going to keep me fed until the next Lantern Rite haha.

On a similar note, this event was just as good as last year's goofy Lantern Rite! I will never stop talking about how much I love it when characters from different nations are able to meet each other, like the whole Xingqiu/Mika/Noelle interaction was really sweet! (But the way Xingqiu told them to just not get caught when sneaking away from home XD He's such a bad influence haha)

AND THIS. The way Zhongli and Venti were looking at the children, it really solidifies the fact they they're retired. Don't mind me crying over here 🥺

I didn't expect the event to dive a bit into Diona's lore, so that was really cool!! Also really glad that learning about Oceanids and their power kind of helped Chongyun come to terms with his yang energy. (I shall now wait patiently for some lore drop on Chongyun.)

The whole story was just so nice. And the MUSIC for Callirhoe's story was the final cherry on top 👌

Thinking about more Dadsley adopting Diona

Dude becomes a fucking surveillance camera to make sure Diona is safe, cause he KNOWS there are rapists and pedophile in the Fortress that would happily take advantage of her, so he would probably have her wear some kind of tracking system out of (reasonable) paranoia.

The other inmates (minor criminals) actually start to like Diona and start treating her well, and even Wolsey decides that she gets the better welfare meals. Like, she still has to pick a straw for her meal, but she doesn't get the bad ones anymore.

Wriothesley teaching Diona how to fight in hand to hand combate while Diona teaches him or gives random tips about hunting. I like to imagine Diona accidentally punching him in the nuts during one of their spars and he collapses to the ground groaning in pain while Diona panics. Sigewienne is just laughing the background.

Wriothesley seeing Diona getting harassed by an inmate, and before he can intervene, she just straight up decks him in the balls like she did to Wrio during their last spar before walking away, and he can't help but cry from being so proud of her.

Diona would definitely help out Sigewienne in the nurses office since she's a healer in the game, and Sigewienne would teach her better ways to heal people.

I think of the barret society was still there while Diona is there too, Dougier would definitely try to kidnap Diona and torture her into following him, and when Wriothesley inevitably finds out, he'd 100% torture Dougier in a much worse way. After comforting Diona, of course.

Wriothesley would send letters back to Mondstadt to let the authorities and/or her extended family know about what's happened, and once Diluc gets wind of it, he makes plans to fly over to Fontaine to check on her (because the knights can't even be trusted to do this), only for the residents of Springvale to come to him, asking if they can come with him or deliver letters for them.

When he arrives to Fontaine, he goes to Neuvillette and asks if he can see Diona, to witch he responds that "the Fortress of Meropide works independently from the Court of Fontaine, and I would usually suggest that the person asking to give up their endeavors. But given the unique circumstance of Miss Diona's case, and the Duke's relationship to her, I can at least send a letter to inform Wriothesley about your request "

Wriothesley accepts Diluc's request and he goes down to meet with Diona in his office, but when he gets there, it's just Wriothesley and no Diona in sight. Diluc starts getting defensive about the situation and start "subtly" demanding to know where she is. To which Wriothesley would respond with "she's here and will arrive shortly. I just wanted to prepare you in case she has a fit and runs out, considering how negatively she's talked about you."

Diona eventually comes in after Diluc and Wriothesley talk for a few minutes, and she's angry and defensive at first, but eventually apologizes about how she treated and talked to him, and Diluc says that he doesn't mind and understands why she said the things she did.

After the awkward greetings, Diona starts asking about Mondstadt and how her friends and extended family are doing, and Diluc gives honest replies, relieved that she seems to be at least safe within the Fortress.

Diluc hands over the small bag of letters from the residents of Springvale to Diona before leaving and waving goodbye, and Diona honestly starts to break down crying after he leaves from all the people that wrote to her. Wriothesley hugs and comforts her about it, happy that she has people who care about her (despite her shitty dad.)

Diluc and Wriothesley would definitely keep in contact, mostly to give Diluc updates about Diona, but also to try to get to know each other better. Wriothesley sends him tea from time to time, and Diluc send him grape juice.

Diona would definitely sneak past her curfew (cause Wriothesley would absolutely have one for her) just to see him fight in the Pankration Ring and kick serious ass. During one particularly challenging fight, he'd get hurt pretty bad, almost getting knocked out, and Diona screams to him "GET UP AND KICK HIS ASS, DAD!" without realizing it. After the fight, Wriothesley is stuck between scolding her for staying out late and crushing her in affection for calling him dad.

Diona denies ever calling him dad.

anyway my other venti's history shaping how he is headcanon is that as a wisp he was rarely taken seriously — people are kind to him and will put faith in him due to his being an elemental being, but between a little wind wisp vs a storm god, the wisp isn't doing much they're in the middle of the archon war, great strong gods are getting struck down all the time. (Even later as a god he's seen as the weakest god, possibly the god with the unlikiest of origins out of a group who were gods and powerful being before reaching archonhood)

But the bard treats him not as a contender, not as a god candidate, not even as their hope to take down Decarabian but as a friend.

So he doesn't take himself seriously either, he knows he has the power now yes but habits remain and he doesn't want to be a tyrannt, and in the end the most impactful relationship in his life will always be the bard who treated him not for his role or his potential but as a friend to love and cherish and understand

“Well, well, if it isn’t Little Miss Diona from The Cat’s Tail.”

Diona pounces from the barrel and flips onto the ground. Heart in her throat and bow in her hands, she breathes hard as she steadies her feet. She looks up, and finds, standing at the door to the cellar, a man in a black coat and hair as red as fire.

She hisses, “Diluc.”

Diluc steps across the threshold. His posture is elegant and proper, and his expression mild - as expected of a renowned businessman. How infuriating. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you,” he says kindly. “I’ve heard lots.”

He walks towards her, and Diona finds herself backing away. Until her back hits another barrel, and Diluc slowly holds out his hand.

Diona swallows. Her eyes dart to his outreached hand, then to the arm that snakes behind his back. She can’t see a weapon, but…

She hugs her bow closer to her chest while she reluctantly shakes his hand. She might hate it, but her daddy always taught her manners.

Diluc takes a step away when he draws back his hand. And Diona asks, “How did you know my name?”

Diluc hums. “Well, some of my patrons at the Angel’s Share like to enjoy the occasional drink from The Cat’s Tail too. And they have much to say about the talents of their youngest bartender, especially relating to her one-of-a-kind cocktails.”

Diona grumbles. Talents, they say. She’d much rather they hate her drinks so much that they never touch alcohol again. Ugh, so much for that.

“Would you like to stay for dinner?” asks Diluc. “I was just about to head home after checking on some things here, but I’m sure Adelinde wouldn’t mind a last-minute guest.”

Diona reels, scowling at him as if he’d just slapped her. “Dinner? With you?!” She scoffs, crossing her arms. “Why would I ever–”

Her stomach roars.

It’s an uncomfortable sound, squelchy, and Diona is sure that Diluc heard it too. Her cheeks burn with humiliation.

“You must be hungry from the long journey from Mondstadt,” he says. A note of amusement colours his voice as he steps aside. “Come now, I’ll show you the way to the dining room.”
