if abled people wanna use mobility aids i think thats fine and good actually.
Like, don’t wear disability as a costume, don’t buy up the good and cheap mobility aids that people who actually need them should have access to (or buy them and redistribute them for free/at cost if u want). And don’t use finite resources like electric grocery carts unless you need to.
but if you just like having a cane with you? go ahead. they can be great stim toys, look cute, and serve as a weapon. hell, some people use them to get stuff off of high shelves. thats rly cool if you just want the option not to walk sometimes? by all means, get a wheelchair.  Want extra storage and a place to lean/sit while walking? a rotator/walker with bags might be great for you!    Plus like, you’ll probably be disabled one day if you live long enough. already having familiarity with mobility aids might make a huge difference with how well you transition into your disability. I’m just one person, i can’t speak for all disabled people. some folks might disagree. but at the end of the day, theres more than one reason a mobility aid or accessibility device can be good for someone, and if you want to/do use them for a reason other than physical disability, i think thats fine and good.

My closest friend pointed out that there's no harm in trying to fund a disability aid, regardless what my anxiety is trying to tell me, so here goes:
To some, the idea of a dishwasher might feel more like a frivolous expense, but for me, it is a disability aid.
I have IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Though it often viewed as more of a vague inconvenience rather than a disability, unfortunately mine is severe, rather than an occasional discomfort. I cannot work, I flare at minimum several times a week, and these flares lead to flu-like symptoms, sweats, chills, and extreme fatigue.
Guys, it sucks. I’ll be plain- This is hard for me, and this situation feels like there’s no good solution. A dishwasher would be a middle ground, a tool to help me live a life with less chronic pain.
The fatigue in particular makes it difficult to keep up with my dishes. I only have a small sink, approximately half the size of an average sink in most homes, and having the energy to do all my dishes at once is rare. As a result, the pile of dirty dishes builds faster than I can get through it, even on the best of days.
I barely have enough resources to buy groceries for the month as I am on welfare, and getting disability for IBS in Canada is extremely difficult, if not impossible. Even in the unlikely event that I got disability benefits, it still wouldn't be enough to pay all my bills and still have funds to set aside for this sort of expense.
Please donate and share if you can, I would really appreciate it ❤️

PSA: BANNING SINGLE-USE STRAWS HURTS DISABLED PEOPLE.
it's obviously that people are becoming more conscious about their consumption and are trying to reduce their impact on pollution, but many people who have a disabiliy, are elderly, or are otherwise unable drink without an aid rely on straws to stay hydrated while not hurting themselves by trying to drink without one. this isn’t to say that all people with disabilities need straws, or don’t use reusable ones, because that is not true. but for many other people single-use, plastic, and most importantly adjustable straws are the best/only kind they can use without hurting themselves.
so while you’re touting your collapsable steel straw (which are actually pretty wasteful btw) and screaming “save the turtles!” at people using straws, maybe consider thinking more about the issue than what's being fed to you by media and companies looking to make enormous profits off a “sustainable” product.
(also if you really want to save the turtles try these options: stop eating unsustainably sourced fish, reduce your carbon footprint, stop using chemical sunscreen and switch to mineral, donate to marine conservation groups, and stop buying shit you don’t need!!!)
here’s some credible non-profits to give your money to instead
