Hey, here's the full set of the brand new Disco Elysium pics!
Prints are available, and maybe these work well in poster format (which inprnt started doing a while ago)?
I'm sad I didn't get to draw any cars, would be nice to do 1 more, but I need to move on... Also, there has been a promo on all summer at inprnt that might end soon, so these are at 35% off right now!

Whats going on? A new unseen greek for Hldaily? 🫣
Nothing is going on. It's Styles Sunday on HLD Promo, so they do themed games every Sunday to promote Harry. Today they're doing a Greek theme game so people vote for Harry for the iHeart Awards.
Tumblr media
That unseen is from SNL 2019, we already knew they had those pictures, they dropped a bunch of them like 2 years ago along with the mermaid, disco ball and watermelon pics from the same photoshoot.
HLD always post unseens to incentivize people to vote or stream or whatever.

Welcome to the Eddie Munson Big Bang Challenge blog!
First off, thanks so much for showing an interest! Please reblog the the promo if you can so this challenge can get as much participation as possible. It doesn't happen without writers/artists!
Writer sign-ups will begin on August 1st. At that time, there will also be a Disco server available for writers that will include a lot of cheerleading, mini challenges to get past those momentary writer blocks, and encouraging aesthetics (ie, lots of pics/gifs of Eddie).
As this challenge is devoted to All Things Eddie™ please understand that ALL ships are welcome, encouraged, and appreciated. There will be no ship hate. Period. This challenge is meant to celebrate Eddie, and while you may also celebrate your chosen ship(s) for him that does not mean bashing another.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please drop into the ask!
And a huge shoutout to @villainsrph for designing this beautiful blog for the challenge!

22 November 1983 - Queen began the three day filming for “Radio Ga Ga” promo video, Shepperton, Surrey, UK. The video was directed by David Mallet.
‘Radio Ga Ga’ is an epic video ‘ and the band’s most ambitious and not to mention, their most expensive ever made. The cost was more than £110,000.
The video paid homage to Fritz Lang's 1926 expressionist masterpiece Metropolis. At the time, famed disco producer Georgio Moroder was reworking what footage still survived of the heavily damaged film (its distributors had edited the film and much of the excised footage was lost until a chance rediscovery of sections of it less than a decade prior), and adding colour filters and a contemporary score - which Freddie had agreed to contribute to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Freddie's song, Love Kills, cowritten with Moroder and featuring an uncredited Brian May and Roger Taylor, became a hit single later in 1984, and featured in a key scene of the reworked film. The Radio Ga Ga promo included different scenes from Metropolis, and the rights to these were bought by the band and Jim Beach directly from the German government.
These pics were all taken directly from Brian May’s book, ’Queen in 3D’

upcoming doctor who speculations
folks, i'm thirty-two years old and woke up with a head full of ideas about what the upcoming first ncuti gatwa/millie gibson season of doctor who will include. thoughts:
the doctor - having just gone through one of the most traumatic experiences of their lives - will lean more into their openness and vulnerability, showing a greater appreciation for life than ever before. they'll stand back in the shadows (or at least try to) and just want to hang out with their friends, even if they have to help fix some hijinks along the way.
ruby sunday will be a good-kid-turned-bad type, and she'll be on the run for getting in with some other bad folks and getting nabbed doing something she shouldn't. low-hanging fruit, but the title of the christmas special ("the church on ruby road") makes me think she'll have some sort of religious upbringing she's shed. doctor who rarely touches on religion for various reasons, but it'd be interesting for them to get into it (although who knows, considering now disney's involved with the show)
the doctor will at first find ruby brash and not like her criminal background, and ruby won't like the doctor because of their so-called "weirdness." however, the more they find out about each other - their shared proclivity for breaking rules, both of them wanting out of normal society, perhaps something having to do with perceived gender - they form the beginnings of a friendship.
their relationship will be strictly platonic, but incredibly strong. promotional pictures of them dressed up in period clothes make me think they'll just flit around history to have fun and go absolutely bonkers at parties. frankly, doctor who's been too serious for too long. we haven't had a good party doctor since ten. we're due!
for this reason: the main tardis console room won't change from how it looks in the 60th anniversary specials. and because of that, you know the doctor and ruby will put those to good use. we will get at least one televised tardis dance party. that's right, friends. manifest this with me: DISCO TARDIS.
no idea about stories, except we've got eight to work with, so they'd all better be good. from promo pics of costumes we've seen so far, we ought to have a 70s episode (given the pic of ncuti and millie in suits), something from the 18th century (jonathan groff's episode), one with a musical twist (jinkx monsoon's episode), and something in which the doctor will once again wear a stetson.
i have a feeling the show will return to a more educational/historical vibe, given the sci-fi of the last few series - the timeless child, trenzalore, the return to gallifrey - has all made the lore confusing. while sci-fi won't disappear full scale, it will take a back seat to let the show reset in a way. if it does explore the future, it will (i hope) focus more on socioeconomic/technological/ethical issues a la the ninth doctor's run rather than "ooooh scary monsters."
i've already got parts of conversations written in my head between characters and if i don't hear them in the show, i'll get upset. i am one of those terrible people who thinks they could've helped out the writer's room in a big way. expect me to write these scenes and post them to ao3 soon.
anyhow: very excited to see what they do with this apparent reboot of the franchise. you should read that as "i am ready to be hurt again." happy 60th, doctor who!

70s Blue Eyed Soul Video Dance Party
This playlist was partly inspired by th passing of Bobby Caldwell, my 1970s NYC taxi cab rides at 5 years old memories and, as always, my deep need to get this body movin.
I think the best way to approach this list is chronologically so here goes:
1970 Tom Jones - Vehicle
What a way to start the decade and if you don't think that Tom Jones isnt the King of Blue Eyed Soul, then you're probably an Elvis fan. Well ok maybe technically he was King of 60s Blue Eyed Soul? Anyway we can all agree this gem had that killer early 70s blackspliotation soundtrack vibe that defined that era.
Tom Jones sings "Vehicle" - Live 1970 - YouTube
1970 Dusty Springfeild Spooky
Everyone knows the soulful ditty about the son of a preacher man but Dusty started the decade with this lovely cover of Classics IV's "Spooky". Maybe its my latent goth tendencies, but I adore this take. I usually don't love covers unless theyre as good or even better than the original and this one hits it hard and ohh sooo SPOOOKY!!
ps -YOU CAN TOO DANCE TO THIS!!
Dusty Springfield - Spooky - YouTube
1976 Bee-Gees You Should Be Dancin
Moving into the heart of the 70s is this funky disco pop crossover by a group of Brits that defined an entire sub-culture with their catchy falsetto harmonies and butt shaking basslines. Yes, you should be dancing!
bee gees you should be dancing 1976 hq audio - YouTube
1977 Player - Baby Come Back
This is quite the sexy laid back tempo song it professes to be.
Player - Baby Come Back - YouTube
1978 Bobby Caldwell - What You Would Do For Love
Word on the street back in the day was that this guy was white and nobody knew it till he went on tour as they only played this song on the R&B radio stations and all the promo pics were of a black silhouette. After the initial shock wore off we all decided we liked the song enough to accept him. LOL also as the kiddos now say, "it slaps!"
Bobby Caldwell - What You Won't Do for Love - YouTube
1979 Doobie Brothers - What a Fool Believes
Between Micheal's sultry vocals and the punch of that 3 part harmony during the chorus, Im just melting into those frequencies!
The Doobie Brothers - What A Fool Believes (Official Music Video) - YouTube
1979/80 Tina Marie - Behind The Groove
Although she hit her biggest stride in the 80's there's no denying the funk-soul-blues that comes off this woman's bass and vocals. Yes, this song did officially come out in the 80s but its disco vibe is undeniably still living in the 70s and I would bet REAL MONEY it was written in 79. This was about the time when disco, R&B, and funk started to crossover into new wave territory and Tina was in the middle of it all. A great way to end the decade and this list!

Pockets... what for?     And some uniform chatter.
I’m wound up in RL stuff right now, which is why it takes me so long to write my first review (or rather prologue).
But a random thought just struck me when I browsed through google and found this pic of Pike in his Disco uniform:
Tumblr media
What exactly are the pockets for on the uniform pants???
They are also on the gold uniform (although you gotta look closely to see them):
Tumblr media
They are only for opitcal reasons, right? Right?
I mean, the pants sit so tight nobody could possibly store anything in the pockets without getting their hands stuck in them (which would make some interesting self-bondage... but let’s not get carried away here).
What’s with Star Trek producers torturing their cast with super tight uniforms? I remember an interview with Colm Meaney in which he said he liked the new DS9 uniform better because the TNG one was so uncomfortably tight.
Not that I mind seeing almost every of Anson’s body details nuanced by the tight unform (especially the gold one... ahem!). But give the cast some relief for god’s sake!
After seeing the cast introduction promo for SNW it seems the producers are a bit more merciful as the new uniforms look more TOS-like and less tight.
Tumblr media
(Ahhh... that wonderful silver hair...)
Tumblr media
(Ethan rocking the new uniform)
Although there seem to be 2 different uniforms with the other one looking close to the Disco ones.
Tumblr media
(Yes, I did NOT cut out Rebecca’s/Una’s beautiful names!)
Tumblr media
(Can I say how much I love the ear communication device?)
Maybe one is for on board duties and the other for landing parties? On the other hand, Star Trek is known for playing around with uniforms and having multiple designs at the same time. Kirk had his usual command uniform and then also his green more formal one:
Tumblr media
And Picard also had two uniforms he used alternatingly, his standard one and then a more casual one:
Tumblr media
Also, Disco already changed uniforms 3 times: The blue ones they started with, then briefly the S3 future grey Starfleet standard uniform and now the S4 ones with the TNG color scheme for command, science and engineering clusters.
So I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a changed uniform for every new SNW season.
I strongly vote for keeping the tactical vest though, because... how awesome did Pike look in them?

Spock & Pike :D
I don’t think I can stress enough how EXCITED I am by the potential of Strange New Worlds has for showing a really awesome, wholesome, healthy father-son relationship between Captain Pike and (Lieutentant? Or possibly Lt. Junior Grade) Spock. I mean, Spock’s gonna be in his early thirties, and that is barely an adult by Vulcan standards (which I’d imagine put him at a physical age of 25ish with his mixed heritage) regardless, he’s still pretty young! Him baby!
Something that caught me off guard that actually rubbed me the right way about Spock & Pike (and to a smaller extent Spock & Una) despite on the surface seeming out of character, is that he’s visibly happier and more relaxed around them! The fact that he admitted to smiling when Pike basically comes to rescue him speaks VOLUMES. I mean, he wouldn’t admit anything resembling that to Jim or Bones until they had been friends with him for years!
I mean by the time we get to TOS, Spock still struggles with a lot of inner-conflict and has trouble opening up to people. And we kinda get a small taste of how much worse that was for him when he was younger through Discovery (TAS and the AOS movies too). He’s still more stable and confident in himself in TOS than anywhere else beforehand, and considering Sarek isn’t... a great dad. I can only imagine Pike (and Una too probably!) had a LOT to do with it.
Pike seems like exactly the kind of mentor/father figure Spock would need to get where he is! There’s so much love that’s clearly there already (the unusually emotional display from Spock, Pike calls Spock “our boy” to his mom and older sister for crying out loud!) I only think it’s almost a shame that we aren’t seeing the first Pike five-year-mission to see how we got from the way he is in the turbolift with Una to where we see his and Pike’s relationship in Disco. Although I’m sure we’ll get flashbacks considering how intensely important Talos IV is to Pike’s arc.
Plus, it’s so rare, that you get to see a well done, healthy father-son type character relationship in TV shows these days, or at least not ones where the mentor doesn’t immediately die or turn evil (or something between). We already know what happens to Pike occurs after he & Spock part ways so there’s no risk of that in Strange New Worlds. (I actually have a theory that Spock does find out Pike already knows will happen to him, which has TONS of character development potential, such as Spock’s “the needs of the many” doctrine having some more heartbreaking context. It’d also give the conversation they have at the beginning of The Menagerie more depth, but I digress.)
Even Star Trek barely touches on that kind of character dynamic (and the only healthy one that comes to mind is Sisko and Jake, and if you want something even MORE sidelined, Rom & Nog) Star Trek does love it’s daddy issues, this would be an interesting change of pace. It would be the first time we’d get to see that sort of thing happen between two major characters in a Star Trek show (I feel that it’s clear by the promo pics that Pike, Una & Spock are intended to be SNW’s “triumvirate”). I would just love to see it, especially since SNW has promised a lighter, more optimistic Starfleet than what we’ve been getting lately.
