GOODBYE WRITERS BLOCK

I'm finally back on my writing game and polished off a chapter of Discordant in the last couple of hours. This chapter puts the total script wordcount at 16,000 words, and I'm gonna ride this wave as far as it'll take me.

I'm so glad to be working on this project and I'm so glad for everyone's patience as we get closer to putting it back online.

I regret to inform you that Discord's new Terms of Service includes an arbitration clause. You can find it here https://discord.com/terms/#16. This clause includes an opt-out, which I have transcribed here:

You can decline this agreement to arbitrate by emailing an opt-out notice to [email protected] within 30 days of April 15, 2024 or when you first register your Discord account, whichever is later; otherwise, you shall be bound to arbitrate disputes in accordance with the terms of these paragraphs. If you opt out of these arbitration provisions, Discord also will not be bound by them.

These clauses are underhanded ways that corporations seek to deprive you of your right to participate in class-action lawsuits and your right to a jury trial. (This does only apply to us users ,other people still spread the word though )

If you're on the app, immediately go to your dms and then "add friends". After the latest update they allow your contacts to find you and have that option turned on by default, so make sure it's unchecked!

This is very obviously not great for a multitude of reasons, but especially for people in vulnerable positions who do not want people in their contacts to see who they are on discord and/or know they have discord in the first place. I've also tried finding out if this is a thing on desktop but haven't been able to find any mention of it, so either it's not a "feature" (yet) or they've hidden it. Either way, stay safe, and turn off finding friends via contacts!

Building a whole city is not something I ever saw myself doing. But, Discordant called for that and I rose to the challenge. None of this is final. The tree floating above the city is still a WIP. It’s not there yet, but it’s coming together. There’s some Okami influence in it right now lol. I’m excited to share the final product within the comic itself.
