#kingdom hearts #kh1 #end of the world #scenery #my gif #this world is so fascinating...#i'm impressed by how the devs can create unsettling and ominous worlds while still using such vibrant colors #like they don't use grey tones as a juxtaposition to the lively disney worlds. they may darken the palette but it's still colorful #also the music here is on a whole other level. they certainly know how to set a tone and atmosphere #i never really noticed how the gummis in the chasm are constantly changing colors. same with those sticky looking web things #i had to include two gifs from that place because it's my favorite area #and now i'm finally done with creating a gifset for every world in kh1 :] three games down... many more to go

I have too many contradicting headcanons for each of them. Dumping them in the biscuit tin to hatch as we speak.

It's been a minute since I've read one of the Buffyverse novels aimed at adults, and I kinda forgot that they can be scary?

I started Carnival of Souls tonight and even just reading the prologue made me uneasy. Which is what I want from these books more often than not. I realize I'm pretty easy to scare, but please do that more often.

#it actually kinda grates on me that the new books all appear to be aimed at a teenage audience #as if they (Disney - who owns the publisher Hyperion) don't realize or care that the fanbase is not solely teens and 20-somethings #and I know this sort of thing is also dependent on the author - and I do have favorites #call it a pet peeve I guess #Buffyverse novel tag #edit: I do want to say that I really enjoyed the newest novel 'The Bewitching Hour' -#but it was PG-13 high-school-horror-movie scary at best #great atmosphere no doubt. but it was not written to spook someone my age

hhh found some photos of old disney trips from several years back and it just made me really sad that the parks are nothing like what they were back then anymore. i still feel like it was probably best in the 90s and early 2000s (from what i've seen in videos documenting that time frame, and from the few trips my fam went on as well), but i ended up visiting more often in the 2010s and i still really enjoyed it;;

i miss walking around and just drinking in the atmosphere and theming honestly. sucks that its a mess now and you're paying so dang much for lackluster quality and there's no room for spontaneous flexibility within your visit because of the stupid genie+ app and insane wait times for Everything. the fact that there's no real "off season" anymore because it's Always Busy is a terrible reality as well. *sigh*

#nothing compares to the atmosphere of the disney parks and thats what makes it so sad that it's changed a lot #i've also heard that cleanliness has degraded a lot as well #which isn't . good.#never been big on most universal IPs #so that park never interested me cuz i have no attachment to anything offered within it #but i have been a few times since i stopped going to disney and i did enjoy it; mostly just the islands of adventure #but even still i do miss wandering around epcot and animal kingdom the most :'c #universal doesn't really come close to that but hopefully the new epic universe will prove to be better than where disney's at now #anyway . i just got hit with a wave of nostalgia for a time that can't ever be replicated again i guess #i'm glad i could enjoy those trips while i could tho #spectre says #(not letting anyone reblog this because i dont want to accidentally start any Discourse lol)#OK WAIT CORRECTION.#universal's portofino hotel is absolutely GORGEOUS and i genuinely loved it so so much #and volcano bay was really fun and immersive too; mega props to them for that one #so universal does have some offerings that i really liked!!!#but as a whole i just like some of the theming of the disney parks better; mostly the stuff that doesn't rely on existing IP

#star wars #and its all bc the same dude did it who doesnt give a fuck about disney or star wars #i really enjoyed andor a lot & rogue one #i wish they wouldve made heir to the empire in the style of andor w a recast han luke leia #thats all they had to do #instead they destroyed the whole IP #its bafflibg #the sequels destroyed the legacy characters and all they sought to fight for and build..... how did you do that #it failed finn rey rose and poe as diverse characters #the Bo Karendalorian failed the only decent project with atmosphere they had which followed a deeply devout man and his son on their holy #quest which gave them both deep spiritual ties #boba fett and obi wan had some high points but not enough to excuse the whole execution #just.... how #tales of the jedi and tbb are like Nick Jr tv which is fine for little kids but isnt even TOUCHING the clone wars level which was legit #a masterpiece from Lucas #just #sheesh #honestly this fandom really deserved better than the slow decay and destruction of an institution #at least we have Andor season 2 before its p much lights out for Star Wars #im grateful for that #and gilroys work

i was thinking about how lucky we are with how the atmosphere of this website improved. it used to be impossible to avoid shit fandom content like superhero stuffs, reylos, overwatch, disney, etc etc etc. those things have been erased by the passing of time

#the disney star wars movies were the worst of them imo #thousands of white millenial women going crazy over the most badly written man ever (i still dont know if he was they rey or the lo tbh)#its just insane to me that they were sending people racist death threats. over a character like that #and all the movies were so boring visually. and the character writing was dogshit in general. and the plot sucked #the closest thing to that sort of atmosphere weve had recently was that spiderman movie #(which was boring because it was superheros but at least the animation looked cool sometimes) (i didnt watch it)#that shek spinoff was sorta insufferable tho. like oh what if the villain was a fat caricature from the 1950s.#what if the style was still really homogenous but sometimes the framerate dropped a bit for styling.#yaaaawwnwnnnnnnn

sometimes I feel like y’all (/nbh) cannot grasp that people are able to learn and grow and change after making mistakes. that people in charge are also human and while mistakes are not necessarily forgivable or with solutions for perfect fixes, mistakes are human. giving people the chance to change and be different and do different are the only way they ever will.

#to delete probably #btw this is specifically about people bring up previous like 2018ish tours as reasoning to why bang pd is lying or untruthful about #bts putting their mental health first in the disney docu #like giving the changes in their fame from earlier moments and the overall change in atmosphere regarding topics of mental health etc #which may i remind are quite different in asian cultural than (predominantly white) western culture #anyways #like yeah it’s shitty they went through what they did and how it happened #but if there was a change then the change deserves recognition rather than ‘actually i don’t believe bc of past xyz

#he doesnt. really know many of the princesses or princes or anything #but he'd get very caught up in the ✨️magic✨️ and would be so amazed the entire time #he'd cry a Lot #he'd just be. he would be so happy and excited #he'd really fit in with all the kids with his level of excitement and its such a big deal #its the atmosphere more than anything he just feels so. its such a happy place and he gets caught up in it #cassie would also love disneyland she's definitely a fan of the princesses and i think v much relates to #aspects of rapunzel and cinderella #tate is heavy on relation to cinderella its a huge part of him #cassie would be a disney adult i just know it #dae-seong. acts unimpressed but is very giddy to be there #levi wants all the thrill rides

you can really tell they stopped using the carbon and steel rods for lightsaber fights and it SUCKS

like the new fights aren’t bad? but they don’t have nearly of a sense of impact and battle like the used to and I 100% believe this is cause they can’t actually hit each other with metal poles
