hi!! do you have any parallels headcanons? (i am currently craving headcanons more than oxygen and would love to hear them if you do!) (obviously no pressure though)

i dont actually have many At The Moment (partly because i want to rewatch the series first so i can absorb them into my Brain) but i do have a few !! (spoilers under the cut(

-you know how at the end of ep 6 the kids remembered what happened. yeah i think sam and romane wouldn't want a relationship after that just yet - not because they've lost feelings but because they're both processing everything that happened (along with remembering the information about bilal)

-relating to this i definitely think bilal romane and sam got into a poly relationship later in high school. and victor genuinely had no idea. all 3 of them thought someone else told victor. later when he DOES find out he's like WHAT THE FUCK !!!! (he's cool with it once he gets over the initial surprise though)

-bilal is bisexual, sam is unlabeled (thog does not careeee), romane is still kinda figuring it out but she's certainly Not Straight, and victor is aroallo (partially because i saw your own aro victor hc and went Oh Yes)

-victor has Some Issues regarding the fact that he killed sam in another timeline and he hardly, if at all, talks about how scared he is that he might harm one of his friends one day - he buries those thoughts deep down and they usually don't haunt him. but on those nights when it's hard to sleep ...

i don't have any past this. i just got these from my first watch through the show i need to rewatch it again NOW . however i will indeed absorb your hcs through osmosis

Do you know what was going on with the supernatural powers in Parallels? Because I got so lost with that

I think the explanation that's implied in the show is that, similar to how the ERN tests de-aged Poe the dog from episode 1, sent the kids into different timelines, and aged some of the chickens that Sofia used as test subjects in episode five, the tests also gave Romane and Victor time-based powers.

The various effects of the ERN tests were shown to be very unpredictable, and the results varied in most timelines. I think the Romane and Victor from the timeline we see in the show just so happened to be from a timeline where the effects translated into time-based powers for both of them.

Now. Do I have any clue how to make the supernatural powers make any sense from a logical, scientific standpoint? Nope. However, it is also important to note that:

A. I know absolutely nothing about physics, so even if they did provide a more in depth explanation for the powers, it would probably go over my head.

B. I am watching a show about time travel, so I kinda figured some of the logic might require suspension of disbelief.

C. I think the time powers in Parallels are extremely cool, so I'm very biased in their favor.

Also, there is a possibility that Romane got her powers from the test that went off when she and Victor traveled back in episode 3, since her powers don't show up until after this episode. But Victor's powers almost definitely came from the first test in episode 1, since his powers show up in episode 2.

But yeah, long story short, I think the powers came from the ERN tests, and I like them very much. :)

Maybe Victor could deage himself when they did the Group Hug because he was happy, since he can age stuff when unhappy, and his power works both ways?

that means that ever since he got his powers he was never truly happy and was always sad or angry or scared, just good at hiding it

The multiverse theories that live inside my head: Marvel’s, Parallels, the Spiderverse, the Chrestomanci chronicles and now miraculous.

They all should work the very same way. But something in the back of my head tells me they don’t. The multiverse works at least slightly different between at least two of these stories. I want to try to see if I’m right, if I could reach a mid point, but it feels like I would be about to try to organize a box of tangled yarn,… And my brain freezes and says firmly “please don’t go in there”.

I’ve never noticed, how similiar are Isabela from “Encanto”, and Kuzco from “Emperor’s New Groove” - they both starts as a Hispanic + selfish, rude, sarcastic characters, being nasty to protagonists (I kinda count Pacha as a main character, alongside with him ^^), and later, they are forced to show their real selves, and realize, that authority from their ‘advisors’ (Abuela, Kronk and Yzma) were wrong, and they can embrace herself in the new way, and finally have peace in life...

In my head, Isa is a lesbian, and Kuzco is definetely gay, so I think, if they were in the same time and universe, they could have gay/lesbian solidarity and strong friendship... and, they both can do a big entrance :D

The thing is that the most interesting and novel invention of the MCU is a universe where billions of people turned into dust and then were physically reconstituted on the spot five years later, in a world that had just barely adapted to their absence.

That is wild. That is intense! That is a series of pathos-ridden emotionally complex doorstoppers waiting to happen. Half the entire world! All dead! And somehow we coped with that! And now we have to cope with them all being back?

A whole street of empty houses--surely not everyone there became ash. Some of them moved to better places, now opened by the mass mortality. Some of them died afterward. Who will live there now? Even if inheritances are reversed by resurrection, surely leases aren't renewed. What the fuck happens to everyone who remarried?

What happens to the children snapped back to a world where their parents didn't survive, or the reverse?

But they had to then hastily smooth over this utterly batshit sci-fi premise and get the world mostly back to normal working order as rapidly as possible, without too much emphasis on how literally every person in existence has been placed in a mason jar by a narcissist and shaken twice in five years.

So they could get on with more superhero whack-blam business, which is customarily done against a background of Normality.

This is, tragically, the most Comics thing these movies have ever done.

It is beyond satire that they did this immediately before and during a worldwide pandemic that everyone was pressured to smooth over and 'return to normal' about within 2 years if not sooner.
