BEN SOLO RETURNS!!!!!!!!!!!! And if Disney won't do it, we will! Here comes Episodes 10, 11, and 12 as full featured FAN-CREATED films, with a TV series to cover the space in between! This is an 8-YEAR PLAN! So, come along with us! #FansWillSaveStarWars We thought it was time to put our money where our mouths are and do JUST THAT. Here we have a team of nearly 50 amazing fans of Star Wars fans from all walks of the spectrum of this fandom, coming together to CREATE AMAZING FAN FILM, alongside and inspired by so many of you that already create beautiful art and stories. We have all original artwork, original voices, original sounds, and original music! We decided to put it all together into an ANIMATED FILM and this is our teaser trailer, the first of 4 trailers (full trailers coming soon!). We needed "The Last Skywalker" to be resurrected and reunited with his dyad, because we believe his bloodline is very important to the continuation of the Skywalker Saga. Together, Ben and Rey will rebuild a new Jedi Order, one where attachments can be a strength not a hinderance. And they bring forth a new generation of Jedi, including their own children. We believe it was a far more interesting story to let Ben Solo atone for his sins, rather than copy-paste his grandfather's exact same fate. Redemption is cool and all, but ATONEMENT is far better! And Rey will help him do that. He will have to gain the trust of the Resistance, Rey's found family, to forge a new path for himself. Give the teaser a look, tell us what you think, and btw --- make sure to SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube Channel as there will be much much more to come. https://www.youtube.com/@AfterTheSequels Visit our website for more information or if you'd like to be part of the team and we feel you have a skill we can use, you can contact us there as well. https://afterthesequels.com/

‘65′ was a good film. Perhaps not a great one, but still hugely enjoyable and terrific performances from its leads.
Most of all, 65 proved that Adam can ‘carry’ a film as its lead.
Despite this, DLF stubbornly refuse to bring back Ben Solo; instead they will focus on Rey.
Rey’s character didn’t so much as ‘evolve’ as ‘devolve’. She went from being a starry eyed virgin child on a desert planet ...to a starry eyed virgin adult on a desert planet. She’s developed as much as it’s possible.
Where else can they go with this character? @arianstars recently told me the only place left for Rey to go is...as the villain.
Could Daisy pull it off? Maybe. She was more interesting in her brief ‘cameo’ as Dark Rey than she was through the entirety of TROS.
But, DLF clearly have no intention of giving us ‘dark’ Rey.
I have a strong feeling Chewie was intended to ‘stay dead’ when Rey accidentally blew up the transport ship. Instead they pull another ship out of the cosmic hat so she doesn’t get to have his blood on her hands. They give her healing powers so she can ‘resurrect’ Kylo after mortally wounding him. They give her the Jedis’ approval to kill her grandfather. Supplementary material, both books and comics, tend to promote her as ‘magic, sunshine, pure light.’
I genuinely can’t understand this - they had no problem with making Jyn Erso a ‘grey’ character.
But, at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter. Because there isn’t anywhere else Rey can go. Which is why in all likelihood they will have her as ‘mentor’ hence the age leap of 15 years, to going by their recent track record will be a bunch of tedious politically correct teens.
Ben Solo sadly, had far more potential. How I wish they would bring him back and make a film - even better, a tv series - featuring him as a ‘ronin’ travelling the galaxy dealing out justice for his crimes as Kylo Ren.
They did it with Loki. And it’s by all accounts a huge success.
Why not Ben? And as I said...Adam proved with 65 that he can carry a leading role.
Heck Disney - it would be fantastic!

Eugene was brought back and lived happily after
Shrek was brought back and lived happily after
But didn’t Ben Solo deserve this???
Why can’t we get a fairy tale? WHY? We want to see good in this cruel world.
Eugene and Shrek were not perfect but they have learned good and love and got the chance to redeem themselves and live happily after.
Ben Solo is that different? Hell, no don’t tell me stories of him killing people. The resistance killed a way more FO soldiers. Those ones who may serve there under fear , not with own will. Many of them don’t get to choose. And this movie clearly explains it. Both sides kill. Because they survive!
Star Wars has always been a fairytale. Then why would we have the prince dead with no explanations?
Sorry guys it hurts me a lot...

Villainholics Anonymous
"It's the height." This was from Alina, their newest member.
"No. I still say it's the hair." This from Brienne. The only blonde one.
"It's the cocky ass way they smile." This from Lily Potter - the vice president.
"And do they all have to be so bloody handsome? Like if villain why hot?" Rey. And her age old problem.
"Admit it ladies. It's their dicks. Their gloriously large and thick dicks." Lizzie Bennet. The president of this club.
There were choruses of assent from all the women - all who had their unable to walk days in various stages of soreness. Today was Lizzie's turn. Fitzwilliam Darcy the menace had been particularly eager the night before.
The Villainholics Anonymous was officially in session to annoint their newest member - Alina Starkov.
"Alright, now we have to hear from our newest member. Alina, you have the floor." Lizzie took advantage of the silence before Rey can wax poetic about Ben's face when sunlight hits it when she watches him sleep in the mornings, or before Lily can sing praises about her husband always getting up to change Harry's nappies and how can a villain be that adorable.
Alina cleared her throat and sighed. "My name is Alina Starkov and I'm a villainholic."
"Hi, Alina." Chorused the other women in sympathy.
"It all started when he pushed up my sleeve and got into my face going all 'what are you' in his hot, deep voice with that accent."
Alina's eyes glaze over and Brienne nods in sympathy.
"It's like they tell you you're the ugliest woman they've ever seen but they're like stripping you naked with their eyes and they love what they see? It's like... turning you on?" Brienne squirms in her chair, subtle smile on her lips.
"Or you know they tell you 'I can take whatever I want' in that annoyingly Disney prince charming handsome face and you're all tied up and you're just thinking damn if I get those plush lips you can take whatever you want and more-"
"Yes Rey, we know. Ben Solo has a face carved by angels and wept over by poets - let Alina speak!" Rey shot Lizzie of disdain before sighing and turning to the large framed photo of a shirtless Ben Solo she kept at her side during these meetings for "emotional support".
Lizzie clears her throat and turns back to Alina. "Do go on, Alina."
"And then he comes and cuts a man in half. And I have blood and gore all over my face but he sweeps over in his ridiculous black cape-"
"Ah yes. It's always the cape." Lizzie smiles, remembering her husband walking through a moor.
"Whatever Lizzie - Darth Darcy is better than Darcy! My husband made that shit fashion." Rey sticks her tongue out at Lizzie and she retaliates by kicking at Rey's chair.
"As I was saying!" Alina glows a little bit brighter with her ire, wanting to share more about her precious Sasha.
"He takes me up into his arms and gets me up on his horse and his chest is so big and warm around me and his arms are so muscly and I just felt like... so safe and hugged and saints when I hug him and I feel all that delicious muscle wrapped around me and I just-"
Alina pauses to fan herself, remembering Aleksander's steamy hugs and how it would lead to her naked and impaled on Aleksander's huge dick.
Lily pats her hand in sympathy and shakes her head. "They're so good at that, at looming so tall and so pretty, with the ridiculous you're mine smiles on their faces and they scramble your brain with their yummy glorious smell and the way it feels so warm when they hold you. Like, what evil motherfucker smells like treacle and woods and comfort?" Lily is still very angry that her amortentia just really smells James Potter amplified. How dare this man.
"Anyway you think you'd move on from them, and then bam. He invites me to all these horse back riding just him and me, and he makes me wear his black kefta."
Brienne whistles at Alina's statement. "These fuckers are good at that. Giving you marriage swords, and marriage keftas. Like - Jaime even went as far as to say it's yours, it will always be yours swords that stand in for my heart. And they look so puppy like when they give it to you and you're just like... omg I'm married. Villains. That's true villainry right there." But even as Brienne says it, she strokes Oathkeeper fondly at her hip.
Alina nods her head, wrapping her own black kefta around her. "And you know it makes you feel like it's just you and him and you don't need anyone else and the next thing you know you're sucking his face in his office, and itching to get his dick inside you."
Murmurs of sympathy from all the women.
"And how is it that a villain can kiss like that? Like they're off to go to war the next fucking day?" Alina blushes as she remembers how she was pressed down into that giant map and if Ivan did not come bother them she would have been dicked down on that map too... okay so she had been dicked down on the map. Once. Maybe twice. Okay maybe once every week.
Rey sniffs and brings out Ben's sweater than she uses to wipe her tears. Lily groans in disgust.
"Rey, honestly that sweater is nasty."
Rey glares at Lily and looks down at her worn quidditch jersey with Potter 01 emblazoned at the back.
"You're one to talk Lily. Anyway. I totally understand Alina, like they kiss you and suck your soul out and make you wonder if they can kiss your pussy the same way they kiss your lips and then they fade away, into the Force, before you can ride that large dick."
Brienne throws a popcorn at Rey. "Don't be such a drama queen Rey. You brought back that fuckable redwood you call a husband from the world between worlds and rode that dick into the sunset after. Mine died in a random as fuck explosion."
Lizzie scoffs at Brienne's words. "And you clobbered Dumb and Dumber in the head and rewrote Jaime back as the rightful heir of Casterly Rock and rode that dick into the sunset."
Brienne rolls her eyes. "Not everyone can have a happy ending walking in the morning mist to kiss me and propose marriage. Some of us had to correct the writing of dumb men. Be thankful a smart woman wrote yours, Lizzie."
Rey nods in sympathy. And Alina clears her throat. This was her Sasha's time to shine. These women.
"Anyway, then after they kiss you like that, you find out they're evil and then they try and kill your friend - as if you want any other dick than their villain dick - but even their jealousy is so hot and so you pretend they're evil, but then you get this weird bond connection thing and suddenly he can just appear in your room like that. I mean, they're already so hot - then they appear heartbroken and pining after you and pretending they hate you but they're just like softboi TM and the next thing you know you're naked and making inappropriate use of the Force Bond."
Alina stops and fans herself, remembering just how inappropriate she and Aleksander have been through the bond, how full of him she was afterwards she leaked him out throughout the day-
"It's them always showering when the bond connects!" Rey's exclamation brought her out of her reverie.
"Like, is he just always showering 24/7 to let me see his beautiful tiddies? And like, am I supposed to not strip and lick them tiddies when I see them? It's like the Force Bond is designed so we can feel bad for the villain and fuck them senseless. Again - if villain why so fucking hot?"
Alina nods in sympathy as Rey is currently sitting on an ice pack because Ben had ridden her vagina sore. It's the damned bond sex. Those always go haywire.
"And then... they become the selfless idiot TM, deciding to let themselves be stabbed in the heart and tells you they're human with you and then when they get resurrected do they get back with you?"
Alina and Rey clutch each other ugly tears pouring and Brienne nods with them, tears pouring from her eyes.
"No. No they bloody don't the wankers. They ride off into a war and get killed by rubble!" Brienne slams her fist on the table and takes a deep swig of her butterbeer.
"They become one with the Force after kissing you senseless and making you feel like you're home!" Rey wails hugging Alina close to her.
"They get speared by a fucking tree to tie the universe back together!" Alina clutches back at Rey wiping at her eyes.
"They tell a Dark Wizard to fuck himself while telling you to save your only son!"
Lily joins the hugging ladies and drags Brienne into it as well.
Lizzie sighs and pounds on her gavel. "Ladies, ladies. Get over yourselves. Your men are back with you - Brienne - Jaime is at Casterly Rock because he said fuck that to riding back to Cersei and stayed with you. Rey, Ben is probably grumbling his way through another Republic meeting because he also said fuck that to becoming one with the Force and crawled back to you. And Alina - sweetheart, Aleksander is out of the tree - because he said fuck that to not being with you. We're here to make sure Alina finds her husband hot because he's now reformed. We don't like hot villains!"
The ladies gathered themselves and Alina wipes her tears and flushes.
"So... anyway, two days ago, Sasha came back from a peace talk with Fjerda, and he was really angry because we just got intelligence about Parem. And he said... we should have kept the Fold so he can just kill them all... and... and I found it so hot, so I... I stripped him naked right then and there in the war room and sucked him dry."
Sympathetic grumbles came out from the other ladies.
"Don't worry Alina, we're all here to get this temptation out of you - but I get it. Villains are hot. Sometimes I make Ben wear the mask..." Rey wipes her tears and sighs dreamily and Lily clears her throat.
"Rey-"
Rey blinks and shakes her head. "Right, right, villains are not hot."
"Alina," Lizzie begins but her phone started buzzing. She peeks at it and her eyes widen, and a familiar flush takes over her face. Brienne catches sight of it and smirks.
"Darcy calling you inferior of birth again, Liz?"
Lily grabs Lizzie's phone and giggles. "Darcy got himself in a lake and wondering when dear Lizzie is coming home."
Rey snickers. "I'm betting it's now."
"Shut up you lot, anyway Alina-"
But Alina was already packing up her bags. "Alina?"
"Sorry. Aleksander just came back from Grisha training - and he said if I'm not home in 30 minutes he'll take all that I hold dear so I only have him. I'm gonna get railed. See you guys next week."
She was out the door in a minute flat and Brienne laughs.
"Remind me, why do we do this again? Last week Rey got called home by Ben who said she was his sweet nothing and she came to the meeting today sitting on a vagina pack."
Lizzie merely rolls her eyes and stands up too. "Well, where else can we brag about having tall, hot loving husbands with big dicks who challenge us mentally and love us for challenging them back? I'll see you girls, I bought more of those vagina ice bags, sounds like we'll all need them."

Hello! Do you believe Lucasfilm will bring Ben Solo back alive?
If you believe so, do you think it will be in a movie, comics, animation or book?
Honestly, it's hard to say at this point. I really, really hope they do. They have the means to bring him back after all. The World Between Worlds already exists and they've already revealed that Exegol is connected to it in the TROS visual dictionary. And since the novelization revealed that the Palpatine we see in the movie is a clone, the WBW has nothing to do with his return. So what is the point of revealing that information if they aren't going to do something with it? There's also the fact that they had Grogu interact with blue butterflies in an episode of the Mandalorian. They could have chosen anything for him to see, but they chose the one thing that's become a fan symbol for Ben Solo. And blue butterflies are themselves symbolic for rebirth and resurrection. That can't be an accident! So they have all the steps in place to bring him back. They just have to do it.
As more time passes, I grow more worried that they won't. It's been over a year and a half since TROS and there's been no definitive word on it. There's been rumors, but nothing official. DLF also seems determined to sweep him under the rug. The lack of Ben Solo (and I mean redeemed Ben Solo, not Kylo Ren) merchandise is both suspicious and disheartening. It took over a year for them just to come out with a Funko Pop of him. What little Ben Solo merch I've been able to find has been fan made. So will they? I don't know. I want to believe they will, but it's so hard to cling onto hope sometimes.
As for how they'll do it, I'm not sure, but I've said more than once that it needs to be in a live action film. And not just released on Disney+, but in theaters. DLF seems to have forgotten that a majority of its fanbase are casual viewers who only see the movies. Only a small percentage watch the shows and even less than that read the novels and comics (which is why my biggest pet peeve with the ST is how much important information isn't in the movies themselves but in the novels and comics). So a movie is really the most logical choice. Especially if they want to make a lot of money. So all those ideas I've seen for a Ben Solo returns show, while all well and good, aren't going to reach most of the fans if they did them.
They would also need to advertise a Ben Solo returns movie as such. Don't bring him back in a film and surprise us. Let us know in advance. That would really make the fans happy and get them the money they want.
However, I would be okay if they revealed in one of the shows that he was coming back. Like drop an obvious hint here and there, but then show his actual return in a movie.
That being said, I'm not sure I trust JJ to direct such a movie since he failed so spectacularly with TROS. Out of everyone who's previously been involved with the ST, Rian Johnson is really the only one I remotely have faith in. Maybe if he and George Lucas teamed up, they could bring Ben back and get SW back on track.

The complete lack of Anakin Skywalker in the Sequel Trilogy is an insult to the story of Star Wars, Anakin’s story and in the end they destroyed Anakin’s fall and redemption
The fact that Anakin is never mentioned by name, let alone shows up as a force ghost. Just shows how much Disney, JJ Abrams, Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy were so afraid of the Prequels and couldn’t even bother to have the man who is the main focus of Star Wars to be featured in the sequel trilogy period. The Star Wars Saga was about Anakin and his family. I will forever be bitter and disgusted that Disney went out of their way to erase his presence.
Disney did everything to show what Anakin trained for, struggled for, went to the dark side for and sacrificed everything for was pointless. They introduced force healing, force resurrection, Rey taking the prophecy for herself, his family was tormented by Palpatine until his bloodline became extinct and now we know people can communicate with Tusken raiders. If all of this existed in the prequels, Anakin would’ve never even become Darth Vader. They made Anakin’s entire fall and redemption completely pointless.
I don’t know what it is with Disney, but apparently they get off with backhandedly disrespecting Anakin at every opportunity they get.
I do love Rey, but I agree with this YouTube comment I found a year ago “Rey single handedly destroyed Anakin's entire legacy, and made his whole life a joke. - you don't need to train to be stupidly powerful with the lightsaber or the force. Training isn't necessary anymore, as Rey proves in TFA and TLJ, and in some ways in TROS since I doubt Leia taught her force heal, force skype or force lightning. Thus, Anakin's tough decision to leave his mother in slavery while training to be a Jedi powerful enough to one day save her is made pointless. - you don't need to be in control of your powers. Hell, fits of unexplained anger are encouraged and other characters love you for it. Rey can be rude, destructive and irrational all she wants, and everyone supports her, while Anakin was always taught to obey orders and not think for himself, furthering his feeling of being enslaved and controlled. But nah, he was just wrong I guess. - the path to the dark side is no longer the easy and fast one. Everyone can just decide freely, flip flop between allegiances and do whatever the fuck they want to. I don't know what Anakin was tempted by, Rey is angry all the time, uses force lightning, a power only the most powerful sith can do, and is never tempted in the slightest, always making the morally perfect decisions and never giving in to any temptations. Just be incorruptible, Anakin! - You can force heal easily at no cost. Anakin's mother died for nothing, as did Padme. Anakin's whole turn to the dark side was made utterly ridiculous by this movie. Anakin trained for years, mastering everything he could, striving for more knowledge and wisdom to be powerful enough to save and protect those around him, when he could have just done everything he wanted by closing his eyes. Fucking hell Rey, is there anything you aren't perfect at. - He didn't even kill Palpatine. He didn't redeem himself. He didn't bring peace to the galaxy. He did bring order though, the First Order. Fucking hell, did he actually do anything right or did Rey seriously outclass him in every _single thing he ever did This trilogy just shits on everything that came before. Everyone in Star Wars sucks because Rey is just perfect at everything she does, and all the other characters, with their flaws, struggles and problems they have to overcome just look stupid compared to her and her god powers. I hate this trilogy so much omg words can't describe it”
Let’s look at how much damage was done by not showing Anakin and how much the Sequels destroyed Anakin’s story and legacy
Anakin never warns his children about Snokeatine preying over his grandson, just think if Anakin told them a powerful and ancient dark side user was targeting Ben, Han, Lando, Chewie, Luke and Leia all would’ve gotten together and killed Snoke and by doing that, killing the First/Final Order in the crib.
Anakin never tells his children Palpatine himself is alive. If Anakin told them the truth, he could’ve directed Luke and Leia to his wayfinder, then Orchi’s ship and the stupid knife map. They would find both wayfinders and Luke and Leia would’ve killed Palpatine on Exegol.
Anakin doesn't warn Leia that visions are not all they seem or how he lost himself because of a vision and tells her not to fall for the same trap he did.
Anakin never once visits his grandson during his Jedi training or his time as Kylo Ren and tell him his story, Anakin appearing before his grandson and telling him HIS SIDE of HIS STORY could’ve prevented Ben’s fall
Anakin by name is never mentioned
Rey, someone who believed Luke was only a myth. Suddenly knows that Luke redeemed Darth Vader(again, Anakin is never mentioned by name)
Anakin does not appear before his son in his time of need. Instead Yoda does. Anakin knew all there is about failure and what happens when you fall to the dark side.  “failure, the greatest teacher is,” is bullshit. Yoda never learned this lesson to begin with. Yoda is the last person who should be saying anything like this to Luke. Anakin should have went to Luke, not Yoda. You know who would have been the perfect person to tell Luke that failure is the greatest teacher? His father, Anakin Skywalker. If anyone deserved that moment, it was Anakin Skywalker. Both because this should have been his chance to speak with his son AND because when someone is the embodiment of the failures of the Jedi Order, they’re really the one best qualified to call out the bullshit of that organization. Anakin would’ve been the best person to tell Luke to confront Kylo, his grandson. He knows failure more than anyone. Failing to save his mother, failing to save Padme, his failure into giving into the dark side and his fall. Anakin would’ve told him. “It wasn’t your fault what happened to Ben, I’m asking you to come back and save your sister, my daughter. Leia needs you. You never gave up on me. Don’t give up on your friends, your sister or even yourself. You saved me when I thought all was lost, there is still time to make things right. Remember you are a Jedi, like me. Not the last of the old Jedi, Luke. The first of the new.“
Anakin died to save his son. He does not attempt to save him.
The fact that Anakin didn’t even show up to speak to his son when he was at his lowest or when his son was literally dying , was just proof that Disney Lucasfilm didn’t care about him as a character or his story. Anakin’s redemption was saving his son, yet for some reason he just didn’t give a shit about him. There is not even a reason given as to why he didn’t show up.
Anakin does not appear before his grandson in his turning point. It should have been Anakin who met with Ben, not Han. No one knows more about Palpatine and the dark side than Anakin and revealing the truth could have destroyed the dark side’s hold over his grandson and brought him back to the light and unlike Harrison, Hayden actually wanted to be there. We needed the one moment between Anakin and his grandson. All they did with Han was make little to no sense and just repeat lines from TFA. Harrison is clearly there to collect that sweet Disney money lol he doesn’t like Star Wars or Han Solo, he returned to have Han killed off. Hayden Christensen, however loved Star Wars despite the hate that was directed towards him. He wanted to return to play Anakin one last time. and the perfect way for him to return and to guide his grandson back to the light was Anakin. Anakin knows more than anyone what the dark side can do and what Palpatine is capable of and how much pain he has inflicted. Kylo has always admired Vader, and Anakin can show the truth of how he was manipulated into betraying everything he loved and why the dark side is not the path he should be taking.  I really hate to toot my own horn, but I wrote out a scene where Anakin’s force ghost visits his grandson and helped along his redemption.  “I never wanted you to repeat my mistakes. That pull to the light you were feeling was always me. I wanted you to be better than I was, who I could have been” and showing Ben his memories and what he had to go through. His life as a slave, meeting Padme, meeting Obi-Wan, becoming a Jedi, losing his mother, Order 66, losing Padme and being saved by Luke and finally destroying Palpatine(lol but not really). And telling Ben “Let the light in. You still have a chance, no one is ever really gone“  Ben would then tell his grandfather “I know what I have to do, but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it.” Anakin puts his hand on his grandson and says “this time we’ll do it together.”
Anakin does not play a role in the defeat of the monster who destroyed his life. Anakin’s redemption, victory and the fulfillment of the Chosen One Prophecy  is now meaningless. He doesn’t even return to face Palpatine or to even power up Ben and Rey.  When Rey says "be with me" in the final fight. What should've happened is the force hears her pleas for help and sends Anakin to confront Sidious. Just imagine Palpatine:It cannot be....Lord Vader? Anakin:That name no longer has any meaning for me No, I am Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Master and the chosen one. Palpatine:So be it, "Jedi" Anakin with the help of Luke, Leia, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and Yoda help Ben rise and empower Ben and Rey. Rey and Ben rise. Ben with his Grandfather’s lightsaber and Rey with Leia’s lightsaber deflecting Palpatine’s Lightning Palpatine"I AM ALL THE SITH! Rey and Ben:And we are the Skywalkers And together they deflect it back at Sidious. Once and for all, Anakin fulfills the prophecy, while not doing it directly, he guided his grandson and Rey and together they destroy the SIth and brings balance to the force. Then Anakin brings back Rey, and bids farewell to his grandson and fades in peace knowing that balance has been brought back and the force is in the safe hands of Rey and Ben.
The entire Skywalker Family goes extinct and everything Anakin fought and sacrificed for is completely meaningless
Anakin's Lightsaber is not recognized as his lightsaber, it is recognized as Luke's Lightsaber and Rey's Lightsaber. Luke has a Lightsaber of his own. He even used it for most of his life after the war as a Jedi master, yet it never makes it into the Sequel Trilogy outside of flashbacks. Where is it????? NO SERIOUSLY WHERE THE FUCK IS IT??????? Rey has a lightsaber of her own as well, but for SOME REASON, they needed Rey to have the Skywalker lightsaber and Leia’s Lightsaber throughout the whole movie. Rey cannot be defined on her own. She needs the Skywalker Lightsaber, she needs the falcon, she needs to be related to be Palpatine and she needed to take the Skywalker name in the end. Anakin doesn’t even get to be acknowledged as the master of his own lightsaber.
Rey steals Anakin's legacy as the chosen one. A PALPATINE STEALS THE SKYWALKER PROPHECY
Anakin’s Lightsaber was buried on Tatooine. Make all the “I don’t like sand” jokes you want. But this is like burying a possession of a freed slave in the remains of a slave plantation. Anakin and Shmi were slaves on this planet, his mother was brutally tortured and murdered, his step-brother and sister and Luke’s aunt and uncle were brutally murdered and his daughter was a Hutt’s sex slave. This is the absolute last place he’d ever want his Lightsaber to be buried. Every Skywalker and Solo hated Tatooine. Anakin wanted to escape a life of slavery and see the stars. Luke looks at that double sunset, longing to escape his mundane life, wanting to travel the galaxy to fight the good fight. Rey looks at the double sunset because it's supposed to pander to the OT fans. Bury Anakin’s Lightsaber in his wife’s mausoleum and his spirit would be at peace. But oh no, we can’t have that, the money needs it’s OT nostalgia and we can’t legitimize the prequels because this movie was made by a prequel hating asshole.  I don’t understand why Luke’s Green Lightsaber was never used again. Could’ve been given to Finn and when he’s done, Rey helps him build a Lightsaber of his own. Then Rey can bury Luke, Leia, and Anakin’s Lightsabers in Padme’s mausoleum with Rey, Finn and Ben looking on as the force ghosts of Anakin, Luke and Leia looks on them in peace and it would be a fitting way to end the Skywalker Saga.
Anakin does not appear as a force ghost. He doesn’t see his grandson. He doesn’t see Rey. He doesn’t appear with Luke and Leia at the end of the movie. It’s like JJ Abrams has some sort of vendetta against the Prequels. This is what happens when an OT purist is given power.
Ben Solo dies and is not given a chance to earn his redemption and thus the Skywalker family dies out. He did terrible things as Kylo Ren, but if you want him to redeem himself, actually give him a redemption arc. When he feels his mother die, let him truly feel remorse for his actions Let him see the force ghosts of Luke and Anakin. They set him on the path to make things right. Ben and Rey stop Palpatine together, they kiss and Ben goes on a path of atonement. Ben gets in the falcon and takes Leia’s lightsaber and goes to every known First Order base with the intention of righting his wrongs and making things right. When he returns to Rey, they go to Naboo to place Anakin, Luke and Leia’s Lightsaber’s in Padme’s mausoleum and it ends with Rey and Ben holding hands as the Skywalker family looks on proud and happily that the future is in good hands. Like....Anakin, Leia and Luke would’ve wanted their family to live on and wanted Ben to live. It isn’t rocket science, Anakin would’ve wanted Ben to be given the chance he wasn’t given to redeem himself and live to tell the tale.
Bringing back Palpatine back destroyed Anakin’s entire arc. I don’t care if it happened in Legends. It was fucking stupid then and it was stupid now. The impact of Order 66? The Sequel Trilogy ruined it. I hate how the Sequel Trilogy really shat on this moment. Order 66 was a tragedy for the Clones, Jedi, Separatists, Mandalorians, Night Sisiters and even Maul. Everyone lost except Sidious. When Darth Vader threw him over the railing he was avenging basically everyone. But the Sequel Trilogy rewrites that moment and makes it redundant. In my book, the series timeline ends at the Mandalorian. The Prophecy of The Chosen One? It’s no longer about Anakin. He is no longer the one to destroy The Sith and to bring Balance to the Force. His fall and redemption? It’s now pointless, Palpatine’s clone body was the one that got destroyed, not Palpatine himself and he returned and built up the Empire stronger than ever. Anakin saving Luke and finally killing Palpatine was beautiful. Something that really makes Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker saving Luke beautiful in my mind is actually Anakin/Vader’s perspective.  Qui-Gon was killed, his mother died a senseless death that he couldn't prevent, the Jedi Council was always wary of him and  never took him seriously, Padme spurned him after he became Vader -- which he only did to protect her from dying -- and died anyway, his best friend hacked off all his limbs and left him to burn to death and Sidious manipulated and lied to him from the time he was a kid, only wanted him for his force powers to use as a glorified hitman and openly contemplated replacing him constantly after he lost his duel to Kenobi on Mustafar and was maimed. The dude either lost or was (in his mind) betrayed by basically everyone he ever knew and cared about, except his son, who even to the end never lost faith in him. He was beaten and helpless and Luke had just severed his hand. Sidious then goaded Luke to finish Vader off and become his new apprentice, but Luke refused to turn on his father. The minute he realized Luke was the only person who hadn't betrayed, used, abandoned or left him was the minute Vader died and Anakin returned. This, in a nut shell, is the story of Star Wars. It is the story of a child from Tattooine who was finally able to save someone he loved.  Anakin has been manipulated by Palpatine since the moment he became a Jedi. Palpatine put visions of Padme’s death in his head until it was a reality. He went to the dark side to save his wife and children. He manipulated him into destroying the Jedi. He turned Anakin into Darth Vader and used Darth Vader as his enforcer. Until a moment of hope. His children lived. He thought all was lost until his son believed in him. In his final moments, his life, he saved his son and fulfilled the prophecy. Darth Vader is the ultimate villain deconstruction. He started out as a faceless monster to be defeated, a demon to be slain so peace would be restored. But Luke managed to look beneath the mask of intimidation and saw his father for what he truly was; a broken man who had been a slave his whole life and had lost all hope of redeeming himself. In the end Luke brought Anakin Skywalker back not because he convinced Vader to love him, because Anakin loved Luke since the moment he knew he would be born and never stopped loving him. And the decision to reveal that Palpatine didn’t really die and manipulated his grandson to kill Luke, that honestly cheapens Anakin’s arc. Just think with how he was brought back. They didn’t have an explanation. He is just there in the opening crawl. We didn’t hear his message in the movie, we heard it in fucking fortnite. And Poe’s line. “Somehow, Palpatine has returned” plays like a line from some kind of parody to Hollywood franchises. It’s actually... insulting. Like they are basically slapping us with “this is happening, we don’t have an explanation, just watch the damn movie and get us paid” without even the decency of trying to hide it. That line didn’t have to be in there. It revealed nothing, it provided no character development... it was literally just there to admit that the film really is as bad as you think. And of course, it’s something we HAVE to read in a book to figure out. If it’s not in your fucking movie, don’t fucking bother having it. Bringing back Palpatine made the first 6 movies entirely pointless. Palpatine outliving Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, Han Luke and Leia is the ultimate desecration of Star Wars. “it was always the plan to bring Palpatine back” and that is the problem. Its actually amazing how little the folks at Lucasfilm, Bad Reboot and Disney “get” Star Wars. Having the ultimate bad guy of the first 6 films live to see Episode 9 when the heroes who supposedly defeated him are long dead. It literally destroys the core mythology of the Star Wars universe and makes the selfless choices our characters made unrewarding. That’s just depressing. Their sacrifices and triumphs are ultimately undermined, devalued and utterly pointless. Moral of the story, nothing you did mattered, let the new generation clean up your mess because the money says so. And making Rey Palpatine’s granddaughter, killing EVERY LIVING Skywalker and having a Palpatine steal the legacy of the Skywalkers is desecration of Star Wars. Rey isn’t related to the Skywalkers it’s so creepy that she stole everything from them. She stole the falcon, she stole Luke’s lightsaber, she stole their family name. She stole Anakin and Luke’s ultimate victory over Palpatine. Their legacy. Palpatine won…..This is disgusting. The Skywalkers all dying and Rey taking the name is an exact summation of this trilogy. Tearing down all the old heroes and everything they did just for the new ones to do the same exact thing. Just to prop Rey up? You CAN build up new characters without tearing down the old characters and their legacy. Everything in this trilogy was done to break down and humiliate the characters we cared about and imitate something that was done in the past and has no substance.
Rey didn’t need to be a Palpatine or take the Skywalker name. This isn’t me hating on Rey. Rey can be a great character by standing on her own. Rey being related to NO ONE was powerful and shows us that even someone who came from Jakku can be a powerful Jedi. She doesn’t earn anything on her own. She downloaded all of Kylo’s abilities. She took the Falcon, she made Chewbacca her personal uber, she took BB-8 from Poe and buried Anakin and Leia’s lightsaber on the literal symbolic oppression of the Skywalker family instead of something peaceful like Naboo or Ach-To. She has her own Lightsaber, but never uses it. Rey being a Palpatine and taking the Skywalker name undoes the beautiful story the revelation TLJ had does. She didn’t need to be a Palpatine and she didn’t need to take the Skywalker name or even their relics.  Rey Nobody works. Here’s why. Rey’s story is her own, it is not her parents, it is not about where she came from, it’s about where she is going, and who she decides to become. Maz Kanata said “The belonging you seek is not behind you. It is in front of you.” Rey in the TFA trailers said “I’m no one” Rey never thought or wanted her parents to be important in TFA, she was literally going to pass up adventure and being important to stay on Jakku because what she wanted was her family to finally come home. She didn't want to be important or wanted her parents to be important. The audience wanted that. Any more lingering discussion of the possibility of Rey’s parents being ‘somebody’ only is distracting you from the actually beautiful story that is being told. Rey is a story of a girl who raised herself, who held onto hope for people who didn’t deserve it, she is a story of how light can be born from darkness, and Rey is story of someone who was scared of her own truth—but then finally faced it. Rey being a Nobody is the story I was skeptical of at first, but grew to love, the story that gives me more hope than any Rey Skywalker or Rey Solo story ever would. Rey calling herself "Rey Skywalker" was so forced and unnecessary because all the whiny pissants did not like that a girl was skilled and powerful in her own right and because Rey did not have a good relationship with Luke in the first place. JJ was so set in just making Rey a Luke clone that it just undoes character development. If Rey had to take a name, Solo or Organa would make the most sense since she actually had a relationship with Han, Leia and Ben. Say what you want about how RIan Johnson handled Rey in TLJ. At least he treated Rey like her own person, with her own journey, and her own desires and fears, rather than consigning her to be a vessel for OT nostalgia. And at least he allowed her to actually have a new outfit and new hair style. At least he let her change. Like him or not, Rian Johnson treated Rey with more respect and identity than JJ Abrams ever did. It means more than making her related to anyone because Rey was every lonely girl who wanted to be a part of something but didn't feel like they belonged. Every woman who learned to make her way in the world alone. Every person who clung to hope when they had nothing left. She is so many things to so many people. Rey Nobody can be fierce, angry and powerful without it connecting to a man or evil bloodline. She can love, be curious and emotional without being weak. She is a scavenger, a Jedi, and one half of a powerful Dyad. She is Rey of Jakku and that's all we needed. Rey calling herself a Skywalker denied her every last inch of who she was. Her character arc was ruined to please men that thought her power needed to be connected to a man for it to make sense. All we needed her arc to be was Rey accepting that she needs to be her own hero and loving herself for who she is, rather than who she wanted her hypothetical parents to be. And honestly Rey in TROS was a huge disappointment. Her entire character arc was regressed, she's back to wearing the buns and dressed all in white and sticks to the glorification of the Jedi. It's like everything she learned in the last movie never happened. And honestly her character in TROS  is what men think a "strong female character" is She fights, but they don’t have to deal with her processing internal pain. She loves, but they don’t have to deal with her fully exploring her desires. She’s a “badass,” & for them that is enough. When I say "A Palpatine is left and steals the legacy of the Skywalkers" I am not suggesting she doesn't deserve the title. I am saying that essentially, Palpatine won. Anakin, Padme, Luke, Han, Leia and Ben are all dead. Leia died for nothing. Leia deserved to see her son come home, and to see the end of the monster who ruined her family. She didn’t deserve to feel her child die. The entire line of the family is now extinct. The wiki even says "the extinction of the family name" what kind of depressing garbage is this? JJ Abrams ended the entire Skywalker saga on Palpatine successfully using love to manipulate, corrupt, hurt or kill every single Skywalker across three generations, ultimately resulting in the total eradication of the Skywalker, Solo and Amidala bloodlines, whilst Palpatine's heir lives on and claims the Skywalker name and legacy. Rey calling herself "Rey Skywalker" was patronizing and insulting and demeans what Rey's journey meant in the first two movies to everyone who loved her. Rey coming from Jakku and nothing but rising up as a heroic Jedi means more than "you have his power...you are a Palpatine" or "Rey Rey Skywalker" ever will. Women Of The Galaxy author Amy Ratcliffe says it best. “Even beyond the trappings of the Star Wars saga — the First Order, the Resistance, the Force — Rey’s story is inspiring, familiar, and timeless. Just because you come from nothing doesn’t mean you’re not part of the story. You’re not no one, because anybody can save the galaxy. Anybody.“
If anyone still cannot understand my problem with bringing back Palpatine and why I find it narratively offensive. Just imagine this. What if Harry discovered that Dumbledore was wrong and Voldemort had far more than 7 horcruxes? Ashamed and afraid, he hides Ginny and the Potter children among the muggles. A defeated Ron returns to the burrow, while Hermione spends her days searching for Horcruxes. Years later, a 17 year old, Rachel Marvela Riddle, begins discovering her new powers, despite never receiving her Hogwart’s letter. Her magic is incredibly strong, but she is everything Tom was not. With the help of some friends, she tracks down the remaining Horcruxes and finally destroys the true Voldemort, for good and realsies this time! Also she starts calling herself the Girl Who Lived. This is the plot of Disney’s Star Wars Sequel Trilogy.. What if Harry didn’t actually destroy Voldemort? What if The One Ring survived Mt. Doom? Interesting concepts, but they would devalue everything that came before. The entire point of the Sequel Trilogy is disregarding generations of storytelling because no one behind this trilogy had any original or creative stories to tell. This is how Star Wars dies, with uncreativity and greed.
Anakin Skywalker’s story and family was destroyed, belittled, insulted and stolen by a Palpatine. Hell, even from a certain point of view PALPATINE WON! AGAIN!

The Latest Information on Lucas’s Sequel Trilogy he wrote in 2011. Also some information from  Star Wars Archives: Episodes I-III: 1999–2005, author Paul Duncan interviewed George Lucas his ideas of a Sequel Trilogy.
Firstly, some of the things Pablo Hidalgo has stated about Lucas’s sequel trilogy that he has access to and spoke to Lucas directly about.
We know Lucas never considered the EU canon or a part of his Star Wars universe so it is not surprising his Sequel Trilogy was of his own creation.
........
"Fast forward to 2012, when we hear George is looking to make SW movies again, I though I thought 'I wonder what next Mon Calamari's gonna be. And it turns out, the Mon Calamari this time was huge swaths of the EU. There was no Jacen, no Jaina. No new Jedi Order. Chewie lived. Not surprising, but there it was."

[Regarding Lucas Sequel Trilogy Treatments he wrote in 2011 and sold to Disney]
Comment - "What are you talking about? J.J. threw out His story treatments and he [George Lucas] has no imput at all anymore."
Pablo Hidalgo Response - "Not entirely true. But the treatments as they were pretty much disregarded the EU, which was to be expected.”

........
Commentor - 'Thank You for the clarification, might I ask if you ever recieved any direction that George Lucas with the number of children the Solos had as depicted in the EU?'
Pablo Hidalgo - "All I meant is his starting point for this Trilogy didn't have Jacen, Jaina, and/or Anakin."
Commentor - 'Was there Ben Skywalker?'
Pablo Hidalgo - "There was not."
https://ibb.co/JH2Y8tg
.................
Question -  "My question is, *what did George's treatments for 7 look like? I would love to see if they fit the EU."
Answer [Pablo Hidalgo]- "They did not. For instance, there was no Jaina, Jacen, or Anakin."  ~ 2017

................
Pablo Hidalgo - "Jacen and Jaina never existed in George's storytelling, even in treatment form."
Comment Response - "And about Mara Jade?"
Pablo Hidalgo - "No. George never thought of Mara as being part of his universe either."

Pablo Hidalgo -   "George's starting point for 7 had no Jaina, Jacen, Anakin and Chewie never died. So yeah."
[Reply] - "Could we please send this to every EU purist we know?"
[Other replyer] "They wont care."
[First Replyer] "They will after what Hidalgo just said after this."
[Pablo Hidalgo] - "No, they won't. You can't correct the internet. The info's out there. They've made up their minds."

Pablo Hidalgo - "But there was no sequel trilogy at that time."
Commenter 1 -
'Also, Lucas' Treatment of EP VII did not have the twins born in the Thrawn Trilogy'.
Pablo Hidalgo - "It didn't have twins."
Commenter 2 -
'You're referring to the treatment Lucas sold Disney in 2012. I guess plans changed.'
Pablo Hidalgo - "Or were defined. Jacen and Jaina were never part of George's story. They were Tim's [Zahn] invention."

Here’s what George said about them during an interview with James Cameron for his The Story of Science Fiction project.
“Back in the day, I used to say ultimately what this means is we’re just cars, vehicles, for the Whills to travel around in…. We’re vessels for them. And the conduit is the midi-chlorians. The midi-chlorians are the ones that communicate with the Whills. The Whills, in a general sense, they are the Force.
All the way back to — with the Jedi and the Force and everything — the whole concept of how things happen was laid out completely from [the beginning] to the end. But I never got to finish. I never got to tell people about it.
If I’d held onto the company I could have done it, and then it would have been done. Of course, a lot of the fans would have hated it, just like they did Phantom Menace and everything, but at least the whole story from beginning to end would be told.”

As part of the book Star Wars Archives: Episodes I-III: 1999–2005, author Paul Duncan interviewed George Lucas. During this interview, George talked more about his plans for the sequel trilogy.
Tumblr media
Paul Duncan: What about the stormtroopers? They look robotic, but they’re not.
Tumblr media
George Lucas: How do you know what they are?
Paul Duncan: Did you have a different idea of what they were?
George Lucas: Yeah, they started out as clones. Once all the clones were killed, the Empire picked up recruits, like militia. They fought, but they weren’t very good at what they did.
Tumblr media
Paul Duncan: That’s why they kept missing.
George Lucas: That’s why they kept missing. Then after the Rebels won, there were no more stormtroopers in my version of the third trilogy.
I had planned for the first trilogy to be about the father, the second trilogy to be about the son, and the third trilogy to be about the daughter and the grandchildren. [There was only one, Ben Solo, another Disney rip off.]
Episode VII, VIII, and IX would take ideas from what happened after the Iraq War. “Okay, you fought the war, you killed everybody, now what are you going to do?” Rebuilding afterwards is harder than starting a rebellion or fighting the war. When you win the war and you disband the opposing army, what do they do? The stormtroopers would be like Saddam Hussein’s Ba’athist fighters that joined ISIS and kept on fighting. The stormtroopers refuse to give up when the Republic win.
They want to be stormtroopers forever, so they go to a far corner of the galaxy, start their own country and their own rebellion.
There’s a power vacuum so gangsters, like the Hutts, are taking advantage of the situation, and there is chaos. The key person is Darth Maul, who had been resurrected in The Clone Wars cartoons — he brings all the gangs together.
Tumblr media
Paul Duncan: Was Darth Maul the main villain?
Tumblr media
George Lucas: Yeah, but he’s very old, and we have two versions of him. One is with a set of cybernetic legs like a spider, and then later on he has metal legs and he was a little bit bigger, more of a superhero. We did all this in the animated series, he was in a bunch of episodes.
Darth Maul trained a girl, Darth Talon [The only thing from the EU in Lucas’s Trilogy, but it wasn’t even really her, just had the same look and name, completely different background. She wasn’t even born yet at that time frame in the comics]., who was in the comic books as his apprentice. She was the new Darth Vader, and most of the action was with her. So these were the two main villains of the trilogy. Maul eventually becomes the godfather of crime in the universe because, as the Empire falls, he takes over.
The movies are about how Leia — I mean, who else is going to be the leader? — is trying to build the Republic. They still have the apparatus of the Republic but they have to get it under control from the gangsters. That was the main story.
Tumblr media
It starts out a few years after Return of the Jedi and we establish pretty quickly that there’s this underworld, there are these offshoot stormtroopers who started their own planets, and that Luke is trying to restart the Jedi. He puts the word out, so out of 100,000 Jedi, maybe 50 or 100 are left. The Jedi have to grow again from scratch, so Luke has to find two- and three-year-olds, and train them. It’ll be 20 years before you have a new generation of Jedi.
Tumblr media
By the end of the trilogy Luke would have rebuilt much of the Jedi, and we would have the renewal of the New Republic, with Leia, Senator Organa, becoming the Supreme Chancellor in charge of everything. So she ended up being the Chosen One.”
George also expanded on Midi-chlorians:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“This is the cosmology. The Force is the energy, the fuel, and without it everything would fall apart. The Force is a metaphor for God, and God is essentially unknowable. But behind it is another metaphor, which fits so well into the movie that I couldn’t resist it.
Midi-chlorians are the equivalent of mitochondria in living organisms and photosynthesis in plants — I simply combined them for easier consumption by the viewer. Mitochondria create the chemical energy that turns one cell into two cells.
I like to think that there is a unified reality to life and that it exists everywhere in the universe and that it controls things, but you can also control it. That’s why I split it into the Personal Force and the Cosmic Force. The Personal Force is the energy field created by our cells interacting and doing things while we are alive. When we die, we lose our persona and our energy is assimilated into the Cosmic Force.
If we have enough Midi-chlorians in our body, we can have a certain amount of control over our Personal Force and learn how to use it, like the Buddhist practive of being able to walk on hot coals.”
And the Whills:
Tumblr media
“The Whills are a microscopic, single-celled lifeform like amoeba, fungi, and bacteria. There’s something like 100,000 times more Whills than there are Midi-chlorians, and there are about 10,000 times more Midi-chlorians than there are human cells.
The only microscopic entities that can go into the human cells are the Midi-chlorians. They are born in the cells. The Midi-chlorians provide the energy for human cells to split and create life. The Whills are single-celled animals that feed on the Force. The more of the Force there is, the better off they are. So they have a very intense symbiotic relationship with the Midi-chlorians and the Midi-chlorians effectively work for the Whills.
It is estimated that we have 100 trillion microbes in our body and we are made up of about 90% bacteria and 10% human cells. So who is in service to whom? I know this is the kind of thing that fans just go berserk over because they say, “We want it to be mysterious and magical”, and “You’re just doing science.” Well, this isn’t science.
This is just as mythological as anything else in Star Wars. It sounds more scientific, but it’s a fiction.
It’s saying there is a big symbiotic relationship to create life, and to create the Force, but if you look at all the life-forms in the universe, most of them are one-celled organisms. I think of one-celled organisms as an advanced form of life because they’ve been able to travel through the universe. They have their own spaceships — those meteorites that we get every once in a while. They’ve been living on those things for thousands of years, they’ve been frozen, unfrozen, and can survive almost anything.
The one-celled organisms have to have a balance. You have to have good ones and bad ones otherwise it would extinguish life. And if they go out of balance, the dark side takes over.”
..................................................................................................................
Obviously there is the older information that’s already been out there, I just wanted to share some of the newer information that has come to light. I’m sure in time we will learn more.

Idea For “Star Wars” Fanfics And OC:
Before I explain, I just was to say that I'm only going by Episode 1 to 6 along with the Ewok films and some elements from the Holiday Special. Specifically, Chewie's family and Bea Arthur's story. Though, I'll use Rey, Ben Solo and other characters, the fanfics won't go with the Disney canon nor would it go with the Legends canon (albeit, I might use Mara Jade, but that's another post).
Anyway, here's what I'm working on with the character origins and the story:
-Somewhere prior to "Revenge of the Sith", a young Ackmena was working as a servant for Palpatine. Having been intrigued by her beauty and seeing her able to brainwash, he chose her to bear him his child in a way Darth Plagues had done decades before. After much persuasion, a naïve Ackmena agreed to mother his child. But, after the baby boy was born, Ackmena, having began to see Palpatine's true colors, took the child and fled Coruscant with the help of her friend, Tork. Now on Tatooine, Ackmena hides as a bartender on Mos Eisley with her son, Laze "Fixer" Loneozner knowing of his parentage but keeps it a secret for obvious reasons.
-A year after "Revenge", Obiwan "Ben" Kenobi, was living life as a hermit on Tatooine when a lovely runaway slave (let's call her "Hura Cloud") had stumbled into his abode. As time went on, the two formed an attraction that led to a baby on the way. Yet, Ben refused to marry her as he needed to watch over Luke and be prepared to fight in the Rebellion. Naturally, Hura was upset about his refusal, came to understand when told of the circumstances. Months later, daughter, Camie, was born and months later, Ben and Hura found it best to have the mother and child live in the more stable town. This arrangement would then lead to Camie meeting her childhood friends, Laze Loneozner, Luke Skywalker and Biggs Darklighter. With Camie and Fixer marrying, they would eventually become the parents of a girl whom they'd named "Rey".
-A year or two before "New Hope", Darth Vader had made a deal with the fugitive Endor witch, Charal; bore him an heir and he'll eliminate the Nightsisters looking for her and the ring she had stolen from them. As a result, their son, Cassiel Vader, was born. But with Vader busy with the war and Charal leaving on her own accord, the baby was raised by a handful of nannies. This would include Ruja and her sister, Pooja who, (unbeknownst to Vader), were the nieces of Padme Amidala and were secretly Rebel spies. Once Palpatine and Vader died, the then 5-6 year old Cassiel was set to rule. However, the sisters took their young ward from his Naboo home and fled to a different planet to keep him away from the Empire. This would lead them to an elite clan who had once worked for Lord Vader until he turned on them. As a result, they strictly forbade any use of the Force (be it for the Light or the Dark) and would eventually gain a movement to destroy Luke's chances in resurrecting the Jedi. To make matters worse, Pooja and Ruja became part of this Anti-Force movement.
-A year after "Return Of The Jedi", Luke was told by Anakin of his half-brother's existence and traveled far to find him (with the help of his friends, of course). Once succeeding in the search, Luke took in Cassiel as his padawan along with Chewie's son, Lumpy, the orphan, Cindel and the Loneozner's adopted daughter, Bari.
-As he grew, Cassiel became well-versed in the Force and was highly gifted. Yet, after a horrible incident, he decided to leave the Jedi ways within fear of hurting anyone. This was because he unknowingly began developing an illness that forced his mind going from Light to Dark (think "Jekyll And Hyde"). At first, Luke and the others weren't fully aware of the sickness or its severity and allowed him to stop his training. But, a few years later, Cassiel's ailment became more apparent when an attempt to cheer Bari up had almost turned deadly.
-Poor Cassiel also has other problems; with a reformed Charal back into his life, he's contemplating on whether or not he wants to forgive his mother and deceased father.
That's all I got so far. How does it all sound so far? Any critiques?

SPOILERS AHEAD - TROS Review
Narrative shortcuts and plot holes.
JJ explains NOTHING. It seems like he had 5 great moments in mind but when he had to work on the in-betweens, he too the lazy road and said fuck it. Either he Deus Ex Machina-ed the shit out of the intrigues, either he explains it by adding useless characters or unexplained things into the story either he simply doesn’t bother explaining it. This goes for the lost dagger find in 1 minute after they randomly fall into quicksand and wonder in the gallerytm another minute and step upon it after it has been lost at least 10 years ago. This goes for Rey’s healing powers that are just here, it’s never explained how she got them? She didn’t finish her Jedi training with Luke, barely trained with Leia. The power’s introduction is so random as she heals a creature she doesn’t even know; she didn’t even hurt it. Palpatine resurrection is never explained, he just did it. Same for why he created Snoke in the first place. A lot of the short cuts that bugged me might be just me nitpicking, but to me, that is what differentiates a good movie from a bad movie, the attention to details and logic.
Bad characterization and useless characters.
The characters are jokes. Rey IS a Mary Sue because she can do anything without proper training even when the strongest Jedi couldn’t do shit apparently (Yoda, Mace...). Leia is pretty absent and the only moment I was looking forward to (Ben and Leia’s talk) is reduced to her simply saying his name. Jannah and Zorii are pretty cool but we barely see them, and I felt like their main purpose was to confirm that Stormpilot wasn’t a thing, especially that Poe is not gay. These two could have easily been replaced by Rose in many ways, Rose who is just an extra who clicks on things and worry about her friends for 2 hours. Poe and Finn aren’t really interesting, just side characters running around, even when JJ introduces a possible story arc he doesn’t get on with it. (Poe’s backstory or Finn’s force sensitivity). Hux doesn’t make sense, the guy was raised in a military home, he is a war genius, strategic and manipulating, but he betrays all of his believes just because he wants to see Kylo lose (????). The new characters just as the KoR and Gnrl Pryde are more than useless, just here to be cool looking and could have been easily replaced by advanced stormtroopers and Hux. UGH
Queerbaiting.
JJ said we will have an “openly gay character”, and we all thought it would be Jannah, Zorii or even Lando. Nope, it’s the two random-ass resistance girls who kiss for a split second when they win the war. This is beyond disrespectful. If you cannot ou don’t want to represent LGBTQ+ character properly then don’t. If for you this is gay representation, then fuck off. I don’t care if there is a gay character but apparently, JJ wanted to check the “Gay representation” off of his Diversity list.
Contradictory plot.
Nothing makes sense. The Skywalker “cursed” is not resolved because Ben does not kill or help kill Palpatine. The force bond that supposed to be one of the strongest ever seen only serves JJ’s shortcuts. What’s the point of the Skywalkers if they are not the ones resolving their shitty fate? Palpatine killing all the Skywalker and preventing Rey from having a family means he won? Rey taking the Skywalker name is illogical and rude. The Force is not balanced.
Missed opportunities.
Finn’s backstory and force sensitivity. Ben and Leia’s discussion and apologies. Ben facing Chewbacca over Han’s death. Rey struggling with the force and tricked by Ben to train such as he did with the lightning powers. Rey being a Solo and not a Skywalker. The force saving both of them BECAUSE THEY ARE SOULMATES. Double blade lightsaber for Rey. More drama between Poe, Rey and Finn resulting in Rey turning once again to Ben to talk about her struggles. Ben trying his best to save the Force Order from doing the worst things. Hux working against him to take Ben’s place. Palpatine’s explanation for coming back and creating Snoke. Finn and Rose or Stormpilot shit. Anakin and the other Jedis helping Ben to overcome darkness. Rey being a nobody. A harry potter like ending when Rey and Ben cross their lightsabers against Palpatine’s lightning bolts and we see the legacy characters helping them overcome the big bad...
There’s so much more but I’m done. Again, the fandom will save this half-assed and poorly written movie thanks to their metas, fanarts and fanfics. As usual, we have been tricked and now we have to save it. Thank you everyone, it’s been a pleasure to wait two years for this bullshit. Now I’m waiting forward to read the shit out of you fics cause it’s the only thing giving me hope.
Fuck KK, Fuck JJ, Fuck the cast who lied to us, Fuck Disney.

So...rumour has it Marvel movies are thinking of bringing back Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark and Chris Evans' s Steve Rogers.
Good. Downey stole Marvel movies along with Hiddleston's Loki (also resurrected) and no one can play Captain America like Evans. Both Evans and Hiddleston are young enough to play their characters for a while yet...and Downey could play Tony Stark into his dotage as it is his MIND that is his superpower, the brilliant mind that created the Iron Man suit.
So...why not resurrect Ben Solo?
He was the most popular of the ST characters. The actor playing him liked playing the character, and would be willing, I'm sure, to return if the right script was on offer. Adam Driver likes making Indie films, but they don't pay as much as blockbusters, and he's now a father....returning as Ben/Kylo for a special series or spin off films is a good way of making money while indulging his love of indie productions like Paterson, for example.
Big cinema stars have done tv work - Gary Sinise, Julia Roberts, and of course Ewan McGregor.
We saw Ben 'fade into the Force'. We did not see a FG. They could easily bring him back. The only obstacle is that they don't want to.
They want to continue to promote the tedious #metoo agenda of 'strong women don't need men.' Which they pushed in the tv series Willow, with Warrick Davies's titular character shoved into the background and three females given the major leads.
They want to promote Rey, Goddess of the Force.
With respect to long term Reylo fans, the last thing I want to see is Ben back with TROS Rey. I want him to have a love interest with a heart.
But most of all...to quote TFA Leia, I want him back.
And Disney need to see what obvious - Kylo Ren winning their 'who do you want to see most' poll by a landslide.
And the Willow series cancelled after just one season.

Congratulations, You Played Yourself?  Why We Didn’t See TROS Coming
Tumblr media
I read a great meta by @ariainstars and it inspired me to finally address something I’d been meaning to write about since TROS came out.  How were so many smart Reylo fans and Bendemptionists convinced things were going to turn out with a happy ending, Rey and Ben riding off into the sunset, when JJerio as well as fired writer Colin Trevorrow clearly had other ideas?
This isn’t a defense of TROS or its spin-out-and-crash ending.  I still think Ben’s fate was totally mishandled and it leaves DLF with the choice of a) never addressing the post-ST galaxy or b) resurrecting Ben from the dead in one form or another.  (When that will happen is of course a mystery.  My guess is not for at least not another decade.)  Returning to Rey Whateverherlastnameis without Ben is to dig their hole deeper, especially since I think the pop culture gods will determine that Ben’s departure was premature and unlike the deaths of Boba Fett or Darth Maul, materially damaging to the overall story.
This is an object lesson though in how fans and creators can end up on different pages and also how creators underestimate the power of their own work.
I thought that death was always on the table for Ben but TLJ’s compassionate treatment of the character and his relationship with Rey as well as piles of well thought-out metas convinced me he was going to survive.  I was sure they were going for an unabashedly happy ending because it was the last film (not simply because it was Disney) and they would want to go out on an up note.  I didn’t think a Dead Ben would end things happily (and really I was right...the air gets sucked out of the movie the second he abruptly dies).  I also didn’t think they would solve the Skywalker problem by tacking the name onto Rey at the very end of the movie (sigh).
I think the fundamental problem was highlighted in @ariainstars‘s meta:  many thought we were getting Pride And Prejudice or 50 Shades Of Grey while they were riffing off of Phantom Of The Opera.  All of those stories are variations of La Belle Et La Bete, Beauty And The Beast.  POTO though ends tragically because Erik is too much of an outcast and his crimes are too terrible.  @ariainstars states that Kylo/Ben was always doomed because he’d killed his father.  A happily ever after was never going to be possible for him.
Why did so many of us reject the idea that killing Han meant Ben had to die in TROS?  Because a lot of sequel fans grew up with Asian and Asian-influenced media, namely anime, manga, and shows like Avatar:  The Last Airbender or Dragon Ball Z.  Serious crimes weren’t necessarily bars to redemption or a happily-ever-after.  There were and still are lots of comparisons between Kylo/Ben and Prince Zuko, who was redeemed, survived, and marries (though not Katara).  Dragon Ball Z’s former villain Vegeta sacrifices himself but is allowed to return to his body and he gets to be in love with Bulma.
JJerio and Trevorrow though didn’t grow up with that stuff.  They grew up with Star Wars and everything else Hollywood produced in the ‘60s-’90s.  While I’m pretty sure Rian Johnson would’ve sold it better if he’d directed and wrote IX, I am not sure if Johnson would’ve let Ben get a happily ever after either.  While Star Wars always had an Eastern influence, it still is very much a product of the West and all it entails.
Maybe the trouble with Ben’s arc is Abrams and Kasdan deciding he had to kill Han Solo.  When I saw TFA, my first thought was Kylo would redeem himself in the last movie but he was toast.  Which is too bad, because you doom your character in the very first movie and that’s not fun.  TLJ then only offered false hope that this would not be the case.  I get that Johnson was making redemption credible but either he was too optimistic that whoever followed him would consider letting Ben live or he unwittingly oversold Ben to the point where you not only wanted him redeemed, you wanted him to survive so he’d have a chance to be happy and free.  (And of course that Rey would have lasting companionship with an equal.)
Another reason why we thought we’d get a happily-ever-after is because Kylo/Ben was the son of Han and Leia and the only Skywalker scion, this meant he was somehow bulletproof and his importance in the story was only going to grow.  Adding to this assumption is Rian Johnson referring to Ben and Rey as co-protagonists.  But to Abrams and company, these movies weren’t about Ben.  This was Rey’s story and in case you don’t understand that, she appears in nearly every scene in TROS.  While Kylo/Ben leaves a big impression, if you pay attention you’ll notice he gets less screen time in the movies than guys like Poe or Finn.  To those who made TROS, Kylo/Ben was little more than a foil, a catalyst for their heroine.  He was supposed to be Darth Vader to Rey’s Luke Skywalker.  (If you want to understand why some fans who clearly aren’t TFM types don’t like these movies, there’s your answer...the Skywalker family got sidelined in the last third of their own saga.)
Perhaps though there’s another simple answer and that is fans are great at being in denial.  If we want a certain outcome, we’re going to bet the farm on it.  Soon among a subset of fans, it’s practically a tenet of being a part of that subset.  This led to what I call following “signs and wonders,” fans believing there are secret codes they were putting out to reassure us we were going to get what we wanted.  I”m seeing a lot of that now with regard to Ben returning, though I don’t buy they are really giving it much thought right now.
Reylos correctly predicted that Ben would turn and there would be some acknowledgement of the attraction between Rey and Ben.  We actually got most of it right.  But Ben’s death wasn’t an outcome most Reylos entertained to any extent.  There were fans who predicted Ben’s demise but they didn’t talk about it very much and those metas weren’t as enthusiastically shared.   Why?  We didn’t want it to happen and we didn’t want to think about its possibility.
Whatever JJerrio’s and Lucasfilm’s intentions, Ben Solo was a character who had escaped.  I guess everyone knew Kylo Ren was going to be popular and iconic but those guys severely underestimated his power.  It’s due to the mystique built up in TFA, the revelation of his humanity in TLJ, being the last Skywalker, and his relationship with Rey over the course of the films, all expertly performed by someone who always brings his A game and had plenty of charisma to spare.  Some sympathetic story groupers added further pathos to his back story in various comics and novels.  He, like the cinnamon roll The Onion made famous, was too pure for this world.
Moreover, they severely underestimated the power of Reylo.  They unwittingly tapped into something primal and mythic with those two.  Nobody could’ve foreseen their incredible chemistry and they didn’t fully understand or appreciate  how epic the pairing truly was.  Or at least those not named “Rian Johnson.”  But many in the audience could see it.  There was a lot in the media about Reylo.  The two times I saw TROS in the theater people applauded when Rey and Ben kissed. It was the gas in the ST’s tank.
That’s why we bought it.  It’s amazing to me how often studios, filmmakers, and show runners miss this stuff while fans keep expecting a different outcome.

why should they bring ben solo back?? sw did not even bring Luke skywalker or Anakin back from the dead, characters who are 1000x more profitable and loved than kylo ben? how can you overestimate the appeal of a character so much? meanwhile toy sales are up again and grogu just won 5 toy awards. ben solo who? if disney did not want ben solo dead, they simply would no have killed him. i am sure it was also in adam's contract that his character would not survive the ST.
franchises continually resurrecting dead characters has done irreparable damage to society
jokes aside, kylo ren was one of their least profitable characters and disney is a company first. i can’t even say there’s a chance he could come back in the eu because it’s clear they aren’t interested in expanding on the st. but since reylos live in an echo chamber they think kylo is the most special and most important character in the franchise and he HAS to be alive because of that. he’s not someone like loki who, despite how much his stans irritate me, does have a kind of charisma that justifies why they keep bringing him back (plus, unlike kylo, he’s actually profitable!).

My idea for a Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
Okay, to start off with, I enjoyed the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy (2015 - 2019) very much and this post isn’t an anti-sequel trilogy. I can understand the flaws in it but I have had an open mind about Star Wars since the Disney acquired it. Hell, I enjoyed the heck out of Rogue One and Solo was great, IMO the reason the later fell over was because uptight fans still spitting from TLJ were too stubborn to get over it. And as to the TV shows -- The Mandalorian (2019 -), Rebels (2014-2018), Resistance (2018-2020) and Clone Wars (2009-2014, 2020) -- were really good as well (aside from the whole matter of Barriss Offee in Season 5 [headcanon: impostor Barriss for that final arc of S5]).
But to the reason I post this. The original Star Wars Legends timeline had its ups and downs -- the Bantam era (Shadows of the Empire, Thrawn Trilogy, Bakura, X-wing, Jedi Academy, Callista trilogy, The Crystal Star, Black Fleet Crisis, The New Rebellion, Corellian Trilogy and Hand of Thrawn duology) certainly did while the Del Rey era (NJO, Dark Nest trilogy, LOTF, FOTJ, Crucible) IMO had more downs then ups. But this was what we were used to until 2014 when the acquisition happened and its taken fans time to adjust to the change. If you haven’t read the Legends books, I highly recommend them and start with Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy (particularly if you loved Thrawn in Rebels).
Okay then...
Here I go...
My idea for a Sequel Trilogy is essentially set in the Legends Universe, but it will not follow the NJO timeline (25 ABY onwards) though some characters would appear because I like them. So essentially, you’d need to read until the end of the Young Jedi Knights series to kinda understand what I am doing. So here are the descriptions and in future I can present my databank for each separate film idea. Be warned, each description WILL spoil the ending of the previous entry but not the details.
Star Wars Episode VII: Shadows of the Past
Twenty-five years after the events of “Return of the Jedi” and ten years after the end of the war between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant as told in the novel “Vision of the Future”, the galaxy is moving forward through an uneasy time. When a dispute breaks out between the historical Obroan Institute and citizens of an Outer Rim world that saw most of its culture artifacts stolen by the Institute under the Empire, New Republic Chief of State Borsk Fey’lya and Ambassador Elegos A’Kla, accompanied by twenty-year-old Jedi Knight Jacen Solo, travel to the planet Obroa-skai to mediate the tensions. However, the meeting is interrupted when the forces of the self-proclaimed Dark Lady of the Sith Lumiya attacks, killing Fey’lya and A’Kla and capturing Jacen, who Lumiya plans to turn to the dark side of the Force and use her in a plan against her former lover, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. As Jacen is tortured, his twin sister Jaina Solo and their nineteen-year-old brother Anakin Solo struggle to locate him as Princess Leia Organa Solo, her husband Han and her brother Luke, along with Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian and General Wedge Antilles must do their best to keep the New Republic together as forces within the Senate threaten to break everything apart. All the while, Lumiya spreads division within the Imperial Remnant, recruiting half of the Moffs to her side, and prepare for the resurrection of the Galactic Empire under the secret leadership of her new master, “The Dark Man”.
Star Wars Episode VIII: Into the Unknown
Five years after the death of Lumiya, Jedi Knight Jacen Solo has gone on a journey of self-exploration and struggles to find a place within the galaxy while recovering from his fall to the dark side of the Force. But his time with the Fallanessi sect is cut short when a call from the Unknown Regions leads him to join other Jedi who also feel the pull, including his twin sister Jaina and most of their friends. They soon find themselves involved in the struggle between the Chiss Ascendancy and the Killiks, an insectoid species that once called their mother’s homeworld of Alderaan home millennia ago, in a border dispute led by the long-missing Jedi Knight Raynar Thul, now known as UnuThul, and unknowingly the fallen Jedi Knight Alema Rar and Dark Jedi Lomi Plo and Welk. On Yavin 4, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and his wife Mara Jade Skywalker find themselves at odds with their 14-year-old son Ben Skywalker, who soon disappears in the company of the mysterious Gorog. Jacen travels back to Hapes to acquire the support of the Hapan forces, encountering his childhood friend Tenel Ka, who serves as a bodyguard to her family and tutor of her younger twin siblings, and fighting off an attempt by the Dark Nest Killiks led by a brainwashed Ben. With forces closing in on all sides, and Jaina fighting against her former friend and crush Jagged Fel while Anakin Solo and Tahiri Veila work to free their friends from the influence of the Killiks, Luke, his sister Leia and Han must protect the peace of the known galaxy and convince the Chiss to come to the table, discovering the entity known as “The Dark Man” and his plans have not yet come to pass.
Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of the Force
A year after the events of “Into the Unknown”, the forces of “The Dark Man” attack the New Republic capital of Coruscant, annihilating the entire Senate and much of the High Command leadership including Chief of State Cal Omas and Supreme Commander Sien Sovv. As the surviving forces retreat to the late Mon Mothma’s homeworld of Chandrila, Han Solo and Chewbacca are captured, leading to the death of the Corellian legend, while “The Dark Man” comes to Yavin 4 and drains Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa Solo of most of their life force and die shortly afterwards. Convinced that the dark side of the Force will hold an answer to freeing the galaxy from the return of the Sith, twins Jacen and Jaina Solo, their brother Anakin Solo and cousin Ben Skywalker travel to Korriban, facing trials by Darth Bane and Darth Sidious that discover something within. Meanwhile, the Sith forces strike Yavin 4, destroying the Jedi Academy as the last of the Jedi evacuate, with Admiral Gial Ackbar sacrificing himself to save the Jedi while Chewie is rescued by Lando Calrissian, Mara Jade Skywalker and the Jedi Prince Ken, who assumes control of the Jedi from his former guardian Luke. Jacen and Jaina head to Exegol, the legendary homeworld of the true Sith Order, with Anakin and Ben leading a combined force of Jedi, smugglers and remaining fighters of Ackbar’s cruiser following shortly afterwards. As the twins face off against “The Dark Man”, a failed apprentice of Palpatine’s master though nevertheless a true leader, the New Republic led by Wedge and Admiral Traest Kre’fey, joined by the Imperial Remnant under Moffs Kurlen Flennic, Ephin Saretti and Crowal, Chiss forces led by Soontir Fel and his son Jagged, Hutt forces led by a somewhat nice cousin of Jabba the Hutt and other forces from across the galaxy, travel to Exegol to face off against the Sith fleet. The Sith are soon defeated and peace is restored to the galaxy. For the Solo-Skywalker clan, they mourn the passing of their parents and travel to Tatooine before going on their paths into the future.
There you go. Tell me what you think.

TROS, a movie that thrives on Nostalgia.
I saw TROS yesterday. Needless to say my expectations were super low. I want to do this movie justice, independently of me being a die-hard Reylo and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo stan.
Spoilers ahead!!!
The main problem about TROS is that it’s not a bad movie; narrative choices had to be made, but it suffers from a lack of narrative consistency within the ST. It suffers from the Disney LF area we’re in, meaning, the rein of money and commercial blockbuster pressure, aka, the materialist world we live in.
My personal feeling about TROS is like an atonal symphony within the ST : you never come home. You don’t have the sensation that the journey came to a full circle, with all the satisfaction of the plot points and holes being fulfilled, like a classical symphony gives you.
Why is that? JJ started the ST with TFA, and Rian took the threats that were opened and created new interesting, bold and creative narratives, disappointing all the long time fans that thrive on bloodlines and lineages. JJ took that disappointment and fulfilled those expectative : he thrives on Nostalgia. On bloodlines and lineage, on the idea that you have to be born in a certain family to have certain powers. It’s all very elitist and aristocratic. He also thrives on actions as a filler : you never get bored because you’re trying to get the point about what is happening. There is too much. The pace is wild. There are no true silences to reflect upon what is happening. This is where Rian was a genius, with his silences, held stares and glares, and why he’s infinitely superior as a filmmaker.
But more than anything, the problem is there is no creative consistency.  Thus it gives the sensation that things were not planned from the start, and the journey is not fulfilled. As a fan fiction author I’d say : bad story writing!
But no wonder regular audiences like the movie. It’s a Star Wars movie with all the elements it could have to make a casual viewer happy. But when you start digging the surface, the narratives choices that JJ made are very questionable and there was not only one way to close this saga, and thus for me, these choices make the movie a failure because it only relies on blockbuster techniques, and doesn’t introduce anything new or creative.
Here are my critical points.
1) Kylo and Rey should have been more centerstage. The main problem I have with the movie is that it goes everywhere, losing the principal focus which is understanding why Kylo and Rey are force bonded and the Force Lore mystic The entire point of the movie would have been to dig into the Force Dyad, which is basically One soul that is incarnated in Two bodies. It explains the Force bond and why Kylo and Rey are attracted to one another. They are basically soulmates. But it’s mentioned fast twice in the whole movie, and nothing is shown or explained and worse : one part of the Dyad dies! Where is the logic in that?
Which leads me to my only hope : Ben dies in the Light. But I think the Force Dyad remains intact, meaning there will be a connection between them from the other side of the veil. It’s impossible the connection was severed by death, thus I am wondering if Ben will no reappear in future material, or that Rey will find a way to resurrect him.
And I just need more Ben Solo Smiles!!!
Tumblr media
2) The logical ending would have been that Ben/Kylo resurrects at the end. It would have made sense and given a sense of Christian Glory to the end of the Saga.
PT : Downfall
OT : Redemption
ST: Resurrection
It would have given a feeling of completion, and justice, to a character that is essentially a victim, thus reversing entirely his grandfather Anakin’s arc. Because Ben dying does NOT make sense and gives him a greek tragedy ending which is very heartbreaking.
But, I am going to be honest, I do think that Ben’s redemption was wonderfully made, thanks to Adam’s amazing acting skills. I mean HOW the hell did Adam show us the very minute when Kylo Ren dies and transforms into Ben Solo!! He’s a MASTERPIECE. I also thought that his dying could make sense because his redemption is so well done : he gives his life for Rey, and there is nothing as powerful as self-sacrifice. He is truly home when he dies. But there were other ways of resurrecting him without falling into a cheesy Disney ending.
Tumblr media
3) I wrote a meta in November 2017: “Why Rey is a Palpatine”  which made perfect sense to me even at the time. Beware, I’m not saying I would not have liked her to be a nobody. It’s what I wrote in Songs and i still love it. BUT the Palpatine branch always made sense, because it was the mirroring effects of their bloodlines that was interesting for Reylo, and knowing they are a Dyad, it makes even more sense!
Rey comes from Darkness but choses the Light and the Jedi Path.
Ben comes from Light but fell into Darkness and the Sith ways.
They are each other’s opposites, Two sides of the same coin. It made sense they needed the other to prevail and save the galaxy and that they bloodlines were essentially the two main ones.
One of the things I thought was really well done in the movie is how Rey is conflicted with herself and how she choses the Light despite her bloodline. I thought that was the only thing they did right with Rey : that she choses her heart and her new family against blood.
4) The Emperor returned, but how? It is never explained. And the entire Snoke business is never properly explained, he was just a puppet, okay, but how did the Emperor come back from the dead? This is where my blood boils a bit : TROS retconned everything Rian had built on to bring back Palpatine and there, you really feel the ST is just a big narrative mess. Had TROS taken time to explain fully and show us the reasons, it would have been way better.
5) Making Finn a force sensitive : WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? Where was Finnrose? Where was Finn’s arc? Totally disappeared. It was so badly done, too.
6) The fan service was absolutely cringe as fuck. The Nostalgia really unbearable for me. I was all the time like : this, again??
This is basically what i have to say about the movie. I liked some parts a lot. I hated others. I think it’s ONE take on the many possibilities it offered and it doesn’t fulfill my personal expectations at all. But this is me and I won’t be an anti and trash the creators, they did their best but as a fan, I am very disappointed by some choices.

For people who want Thrawn, Mara Jade and Kyle Katarn in live action, keep in mind that The Mandalorian TV show still leads into the sequels
I know Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau love Star Wars and they are serious about doing their jobs and serving the fans. And even George Lucas has shown his approval (behind the scene pic with The Child). However, The Mandalorian is still part of the Disney canon. Filoni and Favreau have contractual obligations and they cannot just pretend that the sequels didn't happen. The Canon Story Group still have people like Pablo Hidalgo who support RJ and TLJ and have no problem dissing fans.
At best, The Mandalorian will try to stay inoffensive and avoid mentioning anything sequel-related.
- The New Republic will probably be in the background since nothing happens much during the 30 years between TFA and ROTJ. The New Republic in Canon is also extremely incompetent as Mon Mothma disassembles the New Republic military and dismissed the rising of the First Order, which eventually leads up to the New Republic blown up by Starkiller Base in TFA.
- For the Imperials that we see, eventually they will reorganize into the First Order. Maybe some Imperials would not join FO but most of them will to keep their power and influence.
- Not to mention Palpatine's master plan of destroying the Empire after his death and then resurrecting through clone with the Sith Eternal cult while reforming the Imperial Remnants as First Order through the puppet clone Snoke (Goddammit, TROS is really fucking dumb)
- Luke's Jedi Order is a failure with a bunch of no name kids getting murdered by either Snoke's lightning or Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, depending on which version of canon you want to choose lmaooo. So no Luke. Probably no Han or Leia too considering how they end up in the sequels.
- Canon Thrawn is also different too. Rebels show him lose to space Aladdin and crew. In the EU he was an established Grand Admiral sent to the Unknown Regions by Palpatine. In Canon, he was in charge of a bunch of incompetent Imperials and then ended up in the Unknown Regions cuz space whales lmaoo. Canon Thrawn doesn't have the wit or strength of the EU Thrawn that you know and love. His circumstance is different too. Seeing how Rebels handles Thrawn, I don’t have a lot of expectation for the return of Thrawn. Most of the time he just lost and then the show painted it as "the loss was expected, it was his plan the whole time!” And then send him off with space whales. I don't know. One or two losses are okay. But if you are constantly losing and then it is "still as planned" then maybe your plan is just shit. Doesn't help most Imperials are portrayed as utter morons in Rebels.
So what if Thrawn returns (and maybe Mara Jade and Kyle Katarn too)?
- Thrawn will not have a grand return like what he did in the EU. The conflict will be small scaled. You will not see him going against the whole New Republic and facing off Luke, Leia and Han. And Thrawn would not be doing any serious impact as most Imperials will just leave and form the First Order.
- Mara Jade is not an Emperor’s Hand. Mara will not be a Jedi. She will not get with Luke. Or even worse, they kill Mara Jade to justify the sequel story (Luke was traumatized when Mara died or some shit like that). Not a fan of killing beloved characters for the sake of creating trauma/drama/motivation. Comics are notorious with the "fridge" trope where they kill the love interests of male heroes to create trauma/motivation. Considering the current state of Star Wars, we do not need Disney putting Mara Jade into the fridge. At best, Mara Jade in canon will be conveniently left out of the story and disappear to prevent involvement with the sequel story.
- Same with Kyle Katarn. He will not be a Jedi. Or he joins Luke's order and dies from Snoke's lightning or Kylo's betrayal. His adventure of defeating the Inquisitors like Jerec will not be there since all the Canon Inquisitors are failures and die before the OT. You probably will see a discount Kyle Katarn as a Rebel agent or maybe some smuggler/outlaw (discount Han Solo).
