Everyday felt like an adventure in Disneyland Paris, whether it’s exploring new sights, trying new snacks/cuisines & screaming on rides I’ve never been before. This trip really signified multiple new beginnings, a reminder that you can heal from your past & joy will overtake all the sadness that was once there before. It’s being able to open up your heart again to new experiences & not building a wall within. As hard as it can be, it’s truly, deeply believing that things will get better 🥹 When you reach your mountaintop moment in life, not only do you get an amazing view but you’re able to enjoy all the different angles when you get there. "Oh, we walked together, and talked together, and just before we say goodbye, he takes me in his arms, and then... I wake up."

Because there's no Princess Aurora, without Briar Rose! 🌹

She was another kind of challenge, but a challenge nonetheless 👀 This time I wanted to stray from the usual sweet expression, and went more with a "bratty" one 😁

Problem is, when trying to achieve it, it's so easy to actually step into "evil smile" territory 🤣

This repaint was actually my second attempt, after the first one I decided to take a day or two to really study her mold, and finally get what wasn't working...In the end, I went the hard way, and partially resculpted her face, while afraid to ruin a LE head, I knew I wouldn't have been satisfied otherwise, go big or go home basically 😅

For the dress, I've mostly kept the original concept in mind, with the same colors I remember from the VHS (the palette of the outfit on the restored version is too gray for my taste, give me the cream, the turtle dove, the beige, the maroon!!), saving the tiny spinning wheel embroidery on the corset...it seems like this doll has been one big experiment from start to finish 👀

In the end, I love how she turned out, and most of all I'm glad I didn't give up on the expression, I really hate to take the easy way, I know it would have frustrated me too much to leave untouched 😵‍💫

Better make that kind of decision at the start of the process than at the end 🫠

OOAK Dr Facillier... well sorta, more of a re-body of that Resin hybrid doll-figure that came out several years ago, while a fantastic figure a few things I disliked about it, 1) it was very tall - larger than the rest of my doll collection, 2) limited articulation and being resin, very fragile- yes the head is still the resisn original, but it's incredibly well sculpted. It's also pretty heavy, so to attach it to the new body (a monster-high doll ) it had to be secured with a wire armature inside and glued and epoxy putty, so the head articulation is the only thing I had to sacrifice.

Another thing was the hands; the original hands were removed and now fitted with larger ones- I just had to use my mini drill to enlarge the holes for the connector pegs on the new hands to fit. The clothes I re-used- just trimmed to size and made the shoes out of milliput by covering the plastic boots shoes of the monster high doll which it came with. The original shoes from the Dr. Facilier doll were now too big and I don't think I could attach them anyway. The staff I made from a sawed-off paintbrush with a hole drilled in the top to insert the ball on top (a plastic berry from a Xmas wreath- as it had a stalk.

Finally, for his display case, I cut out some of his shadow friends from the other side out of black foam and stuck them to it.
