Tip #1 ; Taking a Breath now speaking from experience being the new kid at school is very nerve racking ik ive done it so many times and just sitting back and just breathing snd relaxing can definitely help just calm you down!!

Tip #2 ; Making a Good Impression!! now for this one i not saying you have to be the most outgoing person ever bc it can be overwhelming especially if you have social anxiety or you just have trouble with interacting!! but definitely being as polite as possible can definitely help you in the long run!!! ⭐️

Tip #3 ; Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself

now since you are new to the school you may or may not have to introduce yourself and ik how nerve racking this can be but doing a simple “Hi! I’m _” is really good if you don’t wish to speak then a simple smile and wave is also just as good!!!

Tip #4 ; Recruiting Friends!!

if you wanna be friends with a particular person try going up to them and saying hi to them also helping people with something is a way to get to know a person or having desk/table mates is like a gold mine for making friends with people !!!

Tip #5 ; Not Everyone is a nice person

if you can tell someone is a mean person stay away from them have little to no contact with this person its will save you all the energy and time because people like this can be extremely draining trust ik that!

Tip #6 ; Be nice but don’t be a pushover

obviously being nice is ESSENTIAL but never let someone cross your boundaries or disrespect you call them out on it don’t make a huge scene obviously but definitely let them know that you’re setting a boundary and if they cross again then cut this person off because obviously they don’t respect your boundaries!!

Tip #7 ; Don’t be a Bystander!!

if you see someone getting bullied say something about it,defend them or just ask them if they’re okay being a bystander to the problem makes you part of the problem as well!!!

Tip #8 ; Don’t let others bring you down

again with making boundaries never let someone cross you or make snarky remarks call them out on it and remember this person words obviously don’t matter what other people say doesn’t define you

Tip #9 ; Join a Club!!

joining a club can be an amazing way to make friends while also doing something you enjoy and over all its just an amazing activity!!

Tip #10 ; Don’t overshare!!!

unless you genuinely trust a person don’t overshare because people switch up and anything you say can and will be used against you!

Tip #11 ; Have Main Character mindset

even if you have zero confidence fake it till you make it!! walk with good posture and some pep in ur step!!🎀

Tip #12 ; If u have a group assignment don’t do all the work

omg i can’t stress this enough only do your part if someone is failing to do their part don’t do it for them let them fail thats their own fault

social hierarchy in high school or middle school (idk what grade ur in im sorry!!) is so bleak okay being popular isn’t everything i mean sure by some chance you’ll be popular but still you don’t HAVE to fit in because ur made to stand out

if someone has a cultural dish for their lunch DON’T EVER make them feel bad about it don’t care what it is that loser behavior! also eat the kind of food that makes you feel good inside and that nourishes your body i definitely suggest packing a lunch the night before!!!

Pile One

I began your reading and my back started killing me; make sure you’re doing proper stretches or you’re not pushing yourself too hard to wear yourself out.

There is a sense of holding your tongue or keeping yourself trapped in the closet. I just got an image of The Little Mermaid when she signed away her voice but it’s not the Disney version it’s the legitimate fairy tale, it’s also more of a choice? It’s difficult to describe; it’s not that you prefer to be uncomfortable and to hide under a mask blah blah blah, but there’s experience of pain and loss so you don’t want to do it again. Maybe you haven’t expressed certain emotions or identities, but you overheard them being looked down upon or it was made fun of, so instead you locked these emotions up and threw away the key (ex; someone laughing at you having feelings for them when brought up as a joke or someone disrespecting a sexual orientation/identity, etc). Your pile is the very first, in all of my history of reading, where I want to be completely silent and only listen to certain frequencies as well.

The advice: You need to listen to yourself and the world (in a way). You already have the answers to your questions/concerns inside of you, but you do need some help finding them obviously. You’re looking for external answers, but it’s only causing more confusion because...well everyone sees the world differently. So when you try to put yourself in those shoes, it causes more scratches on the Vinyl record that is your life, you know? It’s funny to say this but they’re kind of asking you to pull back and not move on so fast from what’s going on because you haven’t really sat with your feelings and gone through the process. What’s been upsetting you and why did it bother you. Why did you react that way. Well how did you get to Point E from Point B? Take a time out and sort these things out when you can because it’ll get you some clarity. There’s also a piece here about communicating and becoming vulnerable. It’s not exactly the same, but I need to figure myself out sometimes with talking and I end up stumbling upon revelations through discussions. You might need to have a low energy discussion with someone you feel comfortable with you so can get to these answers. You don’t need to immediately express or explain these things, but it will help you out. Some of you might need to re-route yourselves because you are lost and you took the wrong exit; it’s fine, that’s life and it’ll happen constantly. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about, if you weren’t here to make mistakes then what are you even here for. Confide in other people, ask for help, get some guidance. You can rely on those around you, not everyone will want to hurt you. I keep being nudged to an issue with identity and — for some it’s just figuring out who you are but there’s pain so if it is what i mentioned earlier, only you know yourself. People can help, but do not let them police who you are and decide what’s ‘correct’ and what’s not. The main message overall is that there is a need for you to be vulnerable with people — or at least someone. There is either embarrassment or pride here holding you back and it’s smothering emotions that end up causing inner turmoil. I would say this points to seeking out a therapist but there are no swords here, so I believe this could just point to finding people to confide in or making peace with the softer aspects of yourself that you might find shameful.

With ‘Chance’ and ‘Dive’, I believe it’s just pointing more towards diving deeper into unknown territory which would be emotions you haven’t explored yet. ‘You cant live your life dealing with surface level things’ is the phrase I’m getting.

Pile Two

Pretty simple so this might be short. The energy check is a bit out of reach despite how simple it seems. I think the first two songs might sum it up a lot better than I can. I don’t believe it deals directly with love, but the idea remains.

I think the advice here is to not teeter too much to one side. You’re not lacking in passion, but you might pull back too much if something fails. There’s a slim piece about being a bit scattered in where you want to go, but we’ll touch on that later. For now, it’s being enveloped by how alive you feel when you’re going after your dreams. How happy it makes you and the rush you get. I keep being drawn back to Passion Ignited as well as Aylis because they’re similar; a glowing ‘orb’ that’s placed over the chest somewhat. Ah that reminds me of The Greatest Showman. Just it’s song ‘Come Alive’, I think that fits this pile quite well. You just have to be comfortable diving into your passion and not be embarrassed, and even when making mistakes, to laugh it off and keep chasing after it. It doesn’t even have to be a dream — people call nearly everything cringe these days. Are we not supposed to have hobbies? Enjoy your hobbies, that’s the point of living. What does it matter. Express yourself and be a bit goofy, you’re a bit tense and scared of messing up right now, but it’s okay. Now before I mentioned being scattered — there’s a small message of getting a clear view of what you want in your life. Do you want to be an influencer or do you just want a good work-life balance. Or a remote job. It’s the general idea that you have which might not really be what you want at the end of the day, and they’re just asking you to clarify, because you can make certain things come true if that’s what you want. However, with just as many ‘let loose’ cards you have, they’re balanced with some grounded cards here. Also, if you haven’t reached your goal yet, don’t give up. We never reach our goal with just one attempt or in just one chapter. You will get there.

Tiger Lily...maybe my job example was on point? If you’re thinking of jumping into something headfirst with no back-up, really think about it. Make sure you have savings, you have a safety-net, you have all your bases covered, etc. There are plenty of people who can afford to take a risky route of income because other people are covering bills with an insane paycheck, or they’ve had years to build up a base. Be patient, and work dutifully to get to that place. It’s difficult, but with these really precious spread I believe that you will have much to offer people if you take your time. This doesn’t mean give up, it just means be smart and take your time.

Pile Three

This is gorgeous. The energy while pulling cards was light and goofy and I’m understanding why now. The meaning of these cards would usually give off a blue/purple aura, since there are a lot of messages alluding to soul searching, but I believe this is more...personable? How do I explain this.

Usually when you think of soul searching, you think of The Hermit. Someone who pulls back from socializing and focuses on themselves. However with this combination, it feels more like really thinking about- I’m sorry the strongest smell just popped through my vents and it smells like Cinnamon. It is not my favorite but it reminds me of gatherings late at night, anyway — It feels like thinking about the people around you and how they reflect you and what you want in your life. You figure yourself out and what you want out of life by interacting with others. It’s not that you need others to do this, but they shine a light on certain aspects of yourself or they bring you to do activities that you wouldn’t have done on your own, thus making you have these realizations. So the advice itself is saying that you should sit on these moments and really let them seep in. They’re not necessarily telling you to isolate and do some introspective thinking, but when you have these moments, don’t push them aside to keep up with others. You have a knack for knowing yourself inside and out, and what’s best for you. I know that seems pretty normal, but it’s not necessarily common. Knowing who or what you want VS what you don’t is a good gift and you should be utilizing it right now. I keep hearing ‘don’t be satisfied’. Keep looking for things that really make you happy. It’s not in a greedy sense, but don’t think ‘well that’ll do’, go seek out experiences or hobbies that make you feel whole! I don’t deal with chakras, but all this green is hard to ignore considering it stands for the Heart and I’ve felt happy and calm the entire reading. There’s not much advice here because you might already have the answer inside of you but more like recommendations; such as going for walks, or having calm hangouts with friends or family. I think you’re already doing what’s being said here, but do your best to keep a balance of focusing on those revelations of what’s best for you and healthy doses of engagement with those around you. I don’t have to pull extra cards either, you seem to be doing quite fine honestly

Pile Four

Confidence. That sums up your whole reading. Well that and some change. Right now it doesn’t necessarily feel like doubt or naysayers, but you don’t really have people to boost you up. Or you need to feel extremely safe/supported in order to really go after something — which feels more physical than spiritual. So it could be a change in majors, career, personal expression, hell maybe just changing direction with your life in terms of dropping out or not using your degree in pursuit of something else entirely. The flowers in the Deceit card resemble horns right now and it’s like opinions or external thoughts regarding the situation that can make you overthink your next steps or how you feel about the topic in general. Gosh I’m forgetting the term but in a way, they could end up being right in a sense that they affect your natural ability and make you way too anxious to perform naturally, thus making you fail. So it’s the ‘well I’m going to fail so I’m not even going to do my very best’ so when you fail you think it was destined to happen.

Your guides and angels are asking you to just take a chance and trust in the adventure. You have to move with confidence, you can’t be sheepish with this. You could be new to this change, so obviously mistakes will happen, but you can’t go into this with a pessimistic attitude. I’m seriously not getting any negative energy around you so don’t worry about that. If the world around you is dull, explore different avenues that give you joy. I’m always going to say to never just leap into the unknown without any thought, but you seem extremely hesitant and it’s holding you back from a new chapter and great experiences that are meant for you. This could be in the shape of a new job or merely just new friends who could help you gain more confidence within yourself. Again though, this pile seems more material based than the others, so I’m thinking it’s related to money matters or at the most, possibly moving but that’s a stretch. There’s a small piece of being scared to take up new opportunities because you’re not well versed in them but, you won’t know everything in the world? The only way to gain experience is to test it out. If it’s for you, then you’ll know once you try it, right?

Haha the Bear! Yeah, this is an uncomfortable time for you, but it’s urging you to sort of learn how to walk, and embrace the natural calmness yet underlying formidable strength of this animal. I’m thinking of when someone was arguing that the bear was one of the scariest predators in the world, but this card also stands for inner strength and you literally have Strength here so, you just have to be comfortable entering this new stage of life (transitions, which there are too many examples for me to list here). Don’t be hard on yourself, everyone has been in your place before.

- if we’re talking late 90s / 2000s dave?? this man will treat you like a princess, he will endlessly spoil you in kisses and gifts, i just know it. he’d be so gentle on you too, like he’s the type of guy that will never not have a hand around wrapped around your waist ( this is very effective when it come to him stoping you from tripping on air )

- constantly sitting in his lap and just playing with his hair as you talk about whatever happened to you that day or about a particular new line of makeup, he would not understand a single word you’re saying but is very supportive and nods along as you try to explain

- same goes for you whenever he talks about things you don’t understand, he’ll try to go in depth with his explanations untill you understand <33

- he’s possessive as hell, especially because you’re a little unobservant when it comes to the world around you, and he just wants to make sure nobody’s treating you wrong, it works too because dave is low key a little intimidating so i feel if he sent someone a glare they would back off pretty quickly

- thats not me saying that you can’t defend yourself though! dave has absolutely seen you tear into any pervy or downright disrespectful men and he loves that you’re not afraid to stand up for yourself or sacrifice a heel to throw at someone

- speaking of him being possessive though . . . this man will absolutely cover you in hickeys, he doesn’t care if you complain about you having to use a lot of foundation to cover it. On days where you don’t have the time or patience to cover it he’ll walk next to you all smug and happy all day

- dave lowkey has a right being so smug though because i know he’d treat you so well in bed, like he’d give it to you any way you want it just cause you’re his girl ‘n he loves you so much

- if you want it rough? dave will have you bent in half beneath him with your legs thrown over his shoulders and your mascara running down your face as he thrusts his hip up into you at a bruising pace

- you want it soft? he’ll slowly rock his hips into you from behind as you watch a movie cuddled up on the couch. and he’ll shush you whenever your whines start to get too loud and tell you to focus on the movie.

- either way when you’re done he’s wiping away any of your tears and planting a sloppy kiss on you that smudges up your lip gloss even more.

- if you gave him bracelets to match with you he would wear it forever, like imagine seeing dave walk around in his black heavy metal tees while wearing a bunch of bright pink bracelets with hearts and glitter all over them that you made for him.

- and if the bracelets break or fall off, he’s coming to you with pouty lips and begging you to make another one like ‘baby, please make me another one? i didn’t mean to break it, i swear!’

- i swear sometimes you be thinking he’s the princess in the relationship because at least 80% of the time there’s some residual lipstick marks on his neck or his lips would constantly be at least a little pink from your lipstick rubbing off on him when you guys kiss

- oh my god . . . sitting with him while he practices on his guitar too, you’ll sit there all patiently while making more bracelets or reading some fashion magazine and when you’re not doing that you’re only ever watching the way his hands glide and pluck at the strings on his guitar ( he gets smug and teases you about this because he’s an ass and he loves the way your voice gets all whiny in pitch as you try to defend yourself against his teasing )

- and he’d never not have some sort of pink hairband or clip stored in his pocket for you but it’s fine because he knows you always carry things for him in your little pink purse like guitar picks or an extra water for if he gets thirsty :}

- in conclusion, someone get this man a silly little bimbo girlfriend who will always lay kisses on him !!! (i volunteer)

Fenton Family on Vacation (part 1)

"You know, when you revealed yourself as Phantom, I thought it would be much harder to adjust." Madeline Fenton, ghost-hunting extraordinaire and mother of two, stared at the swirling green portal in her basement. Despite building the darn thing herself, with its glowing wires and simple design, Maddie felt like she was seeing the whole thing for the first time.

It was late afternoon on a Saturday. At least, Maddie assumed so. She hadn't stepped foot outside their lab for a while now. Too busy modifying all their ghost-hunting equipment. The blinking red numbers of the digital clock on their desk said it was almost six in the evening. Then again, it has been six in the evening for the past several months. The clock was very much broken, and no one had bothered to fix it.

It was summer, so the time spent in the Fenton lab drastically increased. And with the reveal of their son Danny, Maddie practically breathed ectoplasm with the amount of time she was spending in the basement. Danny said it was no big deal, but both Fenton parents were determined to re-evaluate their research and inventions completely. Basically, starting from scratch.

So imagine her surprise when, two days ago, both Jazz and Danny sat them down to propose a memorable family vacation.

And for some reason, she couldn't say no. Was it her guilt? They were prepared to shell out the money for any dream destination the kids proposed. But no, Danny had invited them to a different dimension via the Ghost Zone. This was tremendous progress, not just in her relationship with her kids but also for their new research. (Let's not mention the headache she got from learning parallel dimensions exist.)

Apparently, the kids had been planning this for a while because now everyone was packed and armed to the teeth, two days later. Jazz had taken care of the logistics-when to leave, how to get there, what to bring. Danny was the one to choose the location since he was the most familiar with the Ghost Zone. Maddie learned much later that he had just thrown a dart at a lineup of names on a corkboard.

"Are you sure it's okay for us to enter?" Maddie looked concerned.

"Yeah! It'll be fun, mom!" Danny reassured. "It's just a week off-I've always wanted to show you the cool parts of the Ghost Zone without the immediate threat of horrible death." Maddie gave her son the stink eye. He was grinning a bit too innocently for her liking.

"Well, I think it'll be a great bonding experience!" Jack announced, winking at Danny. Badly. "Someone was being a little paranoid about the mall trip yesterday; I hardly got a chance to spoil our new little princess."

Ah, yes, their new granddaughter. Danielle. Maddie had been furious to discover how horrible Vlad had been to her family. Attempting to murder her husband, trying to recruit Danny as a weird evil son/apprentice, outright disrespecting and dismissing Jazz's existence, and wanting to marry her?? "Furious" was putting it lightly. The man slept with a doll version of herself, for heaven's sake! And then Danny just offendedly mentions that Vlad had cloned him. Several times. Only one clone survived; a little girl with no identity of her own. And here was her son sheepishly asking if they might consider letting the clone stay? Even for a little? She was traveling around right now but didn't really have a place to call home-

Maddie and Jack immediately offered to adopt the girl into the family as their youngest.

(Jazz giggled. "Danny already beat you to it. They tried being cousins at first, but he acts like a total dad around her—the fastest case of ghost adoption that I've ever seen. Instead of a new child, Elle's more like a new grandchild.")

Danny blushed, hunching his shoulders in. "I don't know if Elle wants to be a grandkid-we haven't talked about it, really."

"YOU CAN BET YOUR SWEET BISCUITS I WANNA BE A GRANDKID."

The trio startled and turned, watching the last two of the Fenton family work their way down the stairs into the lab. Jazz was gripping her backpack in one hand and Elle's arm in the other, using her superhuman strength to keep Elle in line. Probably so Elle wouldn't run down the stairs and permanently kill herself. Jack quietly chuckled at the sight of Elle's ghost-themed backpack, so painstakingly picked out the day before. It was a tad too big and looked just adorable on her. A few tiny blob ghosts floating around her head whizzed in excitement, sometimes using the backpack as a place to hide. Maddie, personally, loved the pink light-up sneakers that Elle showed off as much as possible. Her husband had done well shopping by himself.

It was evident Elle was excited about the trip. Despite all her travels abroad, satisfying her wanderlust, she'd never been to another dimension. When they had reached the bottom, Elle phased out of Jazz's grip, bolting to collide with Jack in a hug. "Yesterday was loads of fun." She exclaimed. "I loved shopping around for new stuff. And if being Danny's kid means I get two new grandparents in the deal, then I'm taking it."

Danny made a face. "But isn't it weird to have a dad so close in age to you? What if people look at you weird?"

Jazz snorted at her brother's words, picking her way around the lab mess. "Danny, you'd be the one they would look at funny. A fifteen-year-old-"

"I'm almost sixteen!"

"A fifteen-year-old who has a physically thirteen-year-old daughter? People will be ready to call CPS."

"And besides!" Elle detangled herself from Jack's grip and stomped over to Maddie with a shit-eating grin as she looked at her dad. "Technically, I'm only a year old. You're not going to leave your poor, unstable clone daughter alone in the world to fend for herself, right?" Danny just grumbled. Something about not even being old enough to drive.

Maddie cooed a bit and enjoyed the hug from her new granddaughter. It was cold but in a good way. Elle's response was a low hum that vibrated through her body. It reminded Maddie of a cat's purr.

"I've been meaning to ask," Maddie said. Elle clung tighter as she adjusted her grip. "What is ghost adoption?? You mentioned that before when explaining your relationship with Elle."

Their son shuffled his feet a little. "Uh, it basically means my core has connected to hers in a parental way, I guess." He was obviously nervous. "When we first met, even before I knew Elle was a clone, my core recognized her as a "baby ghost," so to speak. There was enough of a connection that I kind of adopted her subconsciously."

"But it doesn't happen with between all ghosts." Jazz cut in. It felt like their eldest was giving them a lecture on this and that every week. "Frostbite explained it a while ago, something about similar cores and ambient ectoplasm. Kind of like pack bonding?"

Maddie nodded, barely following. "And Frostbite...you said we were visiting this person?"

Danny perked up, actually floating a few feet off the ground in excitement. "Frostbite is the best! He's the leader of the Far Frozen and looks like a giant yeti. He helped me figure a bunch of things out and makes the best cocoa."

"Well, I'm excited to meet him."

And they were. Going through the portal was an experience and a half. It wasn't the first time they'd done this, but it was still memorable. Danny and Elle had gone ghost and chased each other around the Specter Speeder while Jazz piloted, hunched over the steering wheel. The Ghost Zone was a wonderful mix of greens and purples; Jack lamented his lack of a camera.

("We don't want to give Technus something to use." Tucker explained. Danny's friends had come by to help them all pack properly. "The Fenton Cameras haven't been ghost-proofed all the way, and Technus is an insufferable b-uh, idiot when he manages to get his hands on new tech. I'll never hear the end of it.")

It was just so much colder than they expected. The "Far Frozen" certainly lived up to its name. So did Frostbite and his legendary cocoa. The giant yeti (did he count as a ghost??) also took the opportunity to give each Fenton a checkup (ghosts have doctors???) to make sure everyone was healthy enough for inter-dimensional travel. They were, and Frostbite even handed over a few extra vials of pure ectoplasm to tide the kids over in case they didn't land near a natural source in the new dimension. Jack and Maddie took a few vials each, one for each of their ghost kids, and Jazz just tucked hers away in her luggage with a little pat.

Then they were off sightseeing. Understandably, most of Danny's allies were a bit wary around the (mostly former) ghost hunters but did their best to hide it. Jack and Maddie got to meet Princess Dorathea, who could turn into a freaking dragon how cool was that, Jack-

There was Pandora, a towering woman with blue skin and four arms. She took a liking to Maddie and gifted her an engraved xiphos. "To match her fighting spirit." The woman explained. She did not tell anyone what the engraving meant. At some point, they saw a towering castle in the distance. It was hard to see, but the towers looked like spiraling ice. Jack asked about it.

"Oh, that's nothing special." Danny waved them off. "Don't worry about it. We DO need to worry about Walker's prison, so duck down for a bit. He doesn't like it when the living are in his territory." Maddie didn't bother pushing the subject, so they moved on.

Then there was Wulf, a werewolf who could make portals and was the kids' teacher on that subject. Jazz was especially excited, greeting Wulf with a bear hug. (Maddie vaguely remembered something about her daughter being a werewolf now, but she very rarely changed while in the living world. Maddie had almost forgotten.) Jack was pleasantly surprised to learn Wulf spoke Esperanto. In fact, that was the only thing he could speak. It turns out Esperanto was something Jack had learned during their college days. The two hit it off, and Jack had to be dragged away from whatever conversation they were having.

Time moved a bit sluggishly, but eventually, they got around to "the least annoying ones." Elle had a blast messing with someone named Fright Knight, who just kept calling her 'my lady' for some reason. Danny got a few potshots in when one of his rouges (was that a robot?) got too close to the Speeder. They met Ghost Writer, Amorpho, Lunch Lady, Nocturne, Technus, Ember, Cujo, and a few others. Their final stop was Clockwork's.

The flight there was exceptionally long. It felt like forever, yet the clock in the Speeder only moved forward five minutes. Jazz explained that this was Clockwork's influence. He was the Master of Time, and the closer they got to his lair, the weirder time was. Eventually, the Fenton family arrived. Clockwork's lair was, well, a clock tower.

("Really, I don't know what we expected, Maddie.")

It was dark and green, sitting on a tiny island they could barely land on. Ectoplasm was thick in the air; Maddie was sure that if she weren't already ecto-contaminated, it would have been increasingly difficult to breathe. Multiple ticking sounds filled the air as if the tower was filled with nothing but clocks. Maddie took a wild guess and thought it probably was. A glowing green sticky note drew their attention as they approached the door.

Danny scowled as he read the note. "Daniel, something has come up with the Observants. I would appreciate it if you wouldn't make the Watchtower your new haunt. A natural portal will open next to the Speeder. Enjoy your vacation, Clockwork. Drat, I was hoping he'd be home. I really wanted you to meet him."

Maddie pats his shoulder. "It's okay. I'm sure we'll find time later." Elle giggled at the pun.

"I know." He sighed. "It's just, he can be so cryptic. Why would I make a watchtower my new haunt? I've never even been to a real watchtower! But the note says a natural portal will spawn next to the Speeder so that we can wait for that."

"You mean this portal?"

Jazz was closely examining a small tear in reality that had popped into existence next to her foot. It was small and low to the ground. Small enough that the Specter Speeder definitely couldn't get through. Maddie doubted they'd be going in all at once.

Elle peered over her shoulder. "That's it! Come on, old man, I'll race you!" She dove in without waiting for a reply.

"DANIELLE MADELINE FENTON!" Danny immediately chased after, disappearing into a swirl of green.

"Oh yeah, she's definitely related." Jazz said. "Come on. I'll follow behind once you two go through." Maddie looked at Jack, and Jack looked at Maddie. Fine with them.

Jack went first, knuckles tight from gripping his bag straps, doing his best to suck in his gut before dropping out of existence. Maddie went next, standing on tiptoes and still having Jazz bend down to press a kiss to her cheek before she left. "Make sure to lock up the Speeder."

Jazz smiled, her eyes glowing with the barest hint of green. She had a hand on the Fenton thermos clipped to her belt and if Maddie squinted, she could see the barest outline of a crown on her head. "See you on the other side, mom."

Maddie stepped into the portal, feeling nothing but open air, and fell through.

Sans (Undertale): He’s not much for the arts, no disrespect to the artists and performers but…pearls before swine, y’know? It’s all a little wasted on him, maybe better to find something else to drag him to.

Papyrus (Undertale): Not an opera fan in particular, but he can certainly appreciate a good theatrical performance of most any kind, he’ll happily accompany you!

Sky (Underswap Sans): It’s not that he has anything against it, necessarily, but wholly sedentary activities aren’t his favorite, and he doesn’t really have a pre-existing interest in opera either. Still, he is open to trying new things, so he’ll at least go to give it a shot!

Paps (Underswap Papyrus): A great lover of story and drama, not especially familiar with the musical aspect but he’s very excited for the chance to check it out. Just…trying to play it cool and not seem like too much of a dork about how excited, exactly, he is.

Jasper (Underfell Sans): There’s basically nothing about this that appeals to him. You can make him go, but best case scenario is he falls asleep halfway through, and he’ll huff and sigh about being forced to attend for entirely too long.

Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): So, so incredibly jazzed to go, he loves theater and drama and stage performances and this will probably actually make his entire week, if not month. He’ll be talking about it for ages—before and after—and you’ll definitely win some major brownie points with him for even suggesting it.

Mal (Swapfell Sans): Less excited about the opera itself than he is the optics of it, the chance to do something sophisticated and classy and be seen doing it. He’ll want to make an evening of it, dress up, have a fancy dinner, see the show—all the bells and whistles.

Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): Not especially interested, but he’s pretty agreeable and open to trying most things if you’ll be there with him, so…sure, why not? He’ll probably have more fun than he thinks he will—he usually does!

Slate (Horrortale Sans): He’s not much of a fan of the arts, but…it would be an opportunity for you to dress up, and he doesn't get many of those… For that alone, he’ll agree to give it a shot.

Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): Any night on the town with you sounds like a good time, so if you want to see an opera, you’ll go to an opera! It certainly seems interesting enough, he’ll look forward to it.

Ash (Undergloom Sans): Very fond of music—especially the classics—so this is more or less up his alley. Might be a struggle getting him into any kind of formal wear, if you do want to dress up for the evening, and he may unintentionally drift off during intermission or slower parts, but it is something he’ll enjoy.

Yrus (Undergloom Papyrus): Not an opera buff, but always curious to take in different kinds of human culture and this is one of them. Plus, an evening out with you sounds lovely, a nice chance to bond!

Brick (Horrorfell Sans): Just not really his scene, or his type of music, nothing about it really rings to him like it’d be a good time. He’s gonna pass on it.

King (Horrorfell Papyrus): Still a fan of theater, and of subdued yet sophisticated evenings, he’s probably the most likely to have bought the tickets himself and splurged on box seats. He’ll say it’s just for the privacy and the leg room, and it’s true, but he’s also trying to make everything go as smoothly as possible because he wants to have a good time.

Merc (Horrorswap Sans): He isn’t especially familiar with opera or theater in general, but not opposed to giving it a try. If the performance gets as emotional as some people say they do, at least it’ll be dark and no one will catch him melting over a tragic aria or something.

Ell (Horrorswap Papyrus): Watching people sing isn’t really his thing. …Being around people isn’t really his thing either, so the idea of cramming into a crowded theater to see something he’s not even excited about isn’t doing much for him. Take him anywhere else, or nowhere else, but the opera’s not it for him.

Pitch (Horrorswapfell Sans): He likes music, he likes going out, he likes you—he sees little downside in an outing like this. …He also doesn’t see at all, but plenty of live theater has accessibility features, like audio-described performances and braille programs, so he’d still expect to have a nice time.

Nemo (Horrorswapfell Papyrus): Not much for crowds and not much for theater… He’ll probably feel a little guilty about it if it’s something you’re really into, but…he really doesn’t want to go.

Sunny (Gastertale Sans): He’s down to try just about anything once, so he’ll go and check it out even though he’s pretty clueless about the whole thing. Might need to be shushed once or twice for trying to ask you questions or make jokes while people are singing, but he’ll probably have fun.

Aster (Gastertale Papyrus): Very enthused about the whole thing, he likes music and stage performances and evenings out, so the opera checks a lot of his boxes. …Might need to be shushed once or twice for trying to tell you bits of trivia he learned about the specific opera you went to, but he’s just excited.

Spectr (Transcendtale Sans): He’s not necessarily opposed to music, but his situation being what it is, it’s difficult for him to go…anywhere, at least anywhere where it would be suspicious for him to cover up and people might get a close look at him. So…if you really want him to go, it’s gonna have to be a Phantom of the Opera type situation and you sneak in and watch from the rafters. …But he’s down if you are.

PapAIrus (Transcendtale Papyrus): As a digital ghost of sorts, it would be difficult for him to go to the opera as-is—though of course he could, get you a pair of smart-glasses and augment your reality by projecting himself into it, and an ear-piece that he could talk to you through. …But he doesn’t particularly want to. (Pretending like) His attention is on one thing for so long, and other peoples’ attention isn’t on him at all—it sounds boring, he’d rather skip it.

Xanth (Ascendswap Sans): It’s not especially his scene but he likes being around people and experiencing new things, so he’s happy to go along. Very likely to get choked up—if not from his own reaction to the performances, then from the emotional feedback of everybody around him reacting to the performances—but he doesn’t mind, so as long as you don’t mind, it’ll be a fun evening.

Piper (Ascendswap Papyrus): It’s harder to say something about the opera that he doesn’t like, because the singing, the passion, the costuming, it’s all right up his alley. He may manage to get you backstage after the show too, so if there’s anybody you’re dying to meet or get an autograph from, he’s a great guy to bring along.

Carmine (Underfell Fruition Sans): Not super into it and probably not gonna have an awesome time, but he likes to give things a fair shot before deciding he’s not about it, and opera’s one of those things. He’ll go with you once so you don’t have to go solo or find somebody else, but…maybe don’t expect an encore out of him.

Tank (Underfell Fruition Papyrus): It isn’t something he’s really encountered or engaged with before, but if you want him to be there, he will be there. He probably won’t have much to say about it, but he could end up enjoying it and would probably go again if you asked.

Vi (Swapfell Fruition Sans): He doesn’t really see the point of live performances of anything—can’t you just watch or listen to a recording? Still, he’ll go if you insist, but not especially likely to change his mind. …Which is to say, if there are any songs or plots that happen to hit deep for him, he has no plans to admit to that.

Hunter (Swapfell Fruition Papyrus): Frankly, he doesn’t have the attention span for it. Operas are long, usually in a different language, you have to sit still and be quiet the whole time you’re watching them… He could manage it, if he had to—like if he happened to be treating it like one of his jobs—but if free will is at play, his says it’s something he doesn’t wanna do and he won’t pretend otherwise.

Kohl (Descendtale Sans): He doesn’t like people, but he does like music, and a lot of operas have some psychologically interesting plots behind them. So…while he’s not especially thrilled at the idea of being out amongst the public (derogatory), an opera is something he’d be willing to tough it out for, and maybe have a nice time despite himself.

Bram (Descendtale Papyrus): Supremely excited to go to an opera! He might be a little more thrilled with a musical, but an opera sounds wonderful to him too—a great excuse to dress in his best and go out with you and see a performance on stage. (If he has anything to say about it, he’ll make at least five friends out of random strangers in the lobby, but that’s a secondary goal.)

Hi! Just saw your rant review of ACOTAR and thank god someone else felt the same way. As someone who really loves Celtic/Brythonic folklore, there's something that felt very icky and disrespectful about SJM taking a folktale told by the people, for the people, and saying "Not hot enough, it needs be more s e x y." And this is definitely partially inspired by the Twilight series' interpretations of vampires although I am much more forgiving of the latter. While the vampires in Twilight felt de-fanged, if you will, historically, vampires represent the unknown, the dead coming back to life being an affront to God, etc. And that is something Twilight, at the very least, partially explores and expands on the traditions before it. The fae folk can be thought of similarly; remnants of an old, pre-Christian, pagan world full of darkness, danger, and beauty. However, the fae folk in SJM's world felt less of an almost unbeatable force of nature that rarely is defeated and more like. A group of (very racist and deeply misogynistic) elven Edward Cullens acting on their petulant and childish whims. It removes what makes the superstition of the fae so powerful in the British Isles. That was what made the original Ballad of Tam Lin so compelling to me; it is a story about a young woman who fought against the manifestation of the dark and unknown and WON. And SJM's interpretation of the Beauty and the Beast/Hades and Persephone trope is also one-note and surface level. First of all, the Ballad of Tam Lin is NOT a Beauty and the Beast story and to change Tam Lin from being a man trapped by the supernatural to the one doing the trapping is so gross. And, in my opinion, the more compelling Beauty and the Beast retellings re-examines the transformative power of love trope. Instead of the heroine being so virtuous as to change the Beast, both parties involved come to a mutually understanding of each other and love each other for being themselves. Love shouldn't transform, love should bring about mutual understanding. Which is honestly a better lesson than "I can fix him". Just seeing the Ballad being deeply misunderstood like this personally hurt me because it is very formative to me in my younger years. If you want really good stories with Celtic folklore, check out Sargentum and Mias and Elle, they're on Tapastic. (Although Mias and Elle is a Hades and Persephone inspired story which comes with its own problems and is very dark and heavy but at the very least passes the very low bar of not condoning the male lead's actions as hot or sexy and actually punishes him). I'm so sorry this is super long but I have a lot of feelings about ACOTAR and I essentially grieved over the fact that *this* will now be more known than the original Ballad.

OH MY GOD ALL OF THIS YES!!!!! You've worded this so much better than I ever could!

SJM is disrespecting so many folklores, mythologies, folktales, fairytales, traditional stories, etc. for the sake of having faeries that are sexy and hot and got MASSIVE dicks. Her fae don't feel FAE! She forgoes the reason WHY faeries exist in folklore and their significance within their respective mythologies just so she can make 'faeries hotter.' All of her writing especially in the realms of her 'retelling' these fairytales is so, so shallow and unnecessary. She cherry picks what she likes and finds 'hot' from mythologies rather than being respectful to the source material, and it's so disheartening to see!

Because 'Tam Lin' is a really great story of overcoming the supernatural for someone you love! Beauty and the Beast, at its core, is about kindness and mutual understanding! ACOTAR DOES NEITHER OF THOSE!! Sure, Feyre goes Under the Mountain to save a man she loves, but all of her tasks are physical ones - one of which Rhys helped her cheat - so it's not like she can outsmart or overpower the supernatural ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE IS GIVEN A MOMENT TO 'OUTSMART' THE SUPERNATURAL VIA AMARANTHA'S RIDDLE! And in the end, it means nothing because Tamlin isn't her TrUe MaTe. Thanks, I hate it.

And I REFUSE to call ACOTAR a retelling of Beauty and the Beast because aside from there being a beast (that is only on-page for a handful of pages before he is a hot guy for the remainder of the book) it has nothing to do with the original story nor does it really do anything to ELEVATE or reinterpret the fairytale. It literally encompasses everything I hate in retellings.

I will forever detest the trend of turning Beauty and the Beast into an 'i can change him!' narrative, I fucking hate ITTTTTTT!!!!1 And SJM turns it into just that, ESPECIALLY in ACOMAF! (which, ugh, I couldn't even finish ACOMAF because it pissed me off sm)

I too grieve the fact that this toxic, poorly written, shallow, one-note 'retelling' of 'Tam Lin' has become more popular than the original Ballad, it's a legit travesty!!

Elle’s parents trying to start talking to her again and Elle gets excited but they end up saying a bunch of negative things to her. And Mark comforts Elle while she cry’s.

it’s during her junior year. she decides to meet with them at a restaurant near campus, mark and a few other boys dropping her off. she goes and sits down and pretends not to notice mark, ethan, and dylan being led by a hostess to a table where they can watch her. it’s a few minutes later that her parents show up, smiling as they take their seats. elle is nervous, but greets them nicely. it goes well for a few minutes as they start to look over their menus, and then her mom asks her what she was thinking about getting.

“oh, are you sure you don’t want to go for something a bit healthier? like a salad or something?” elle’s jaw clenched but she didn’t say anything, just continuing to look at her menu. the waitress came to take their orders only a minute later, and though elle isn’t order a salad, she also didn’t order what she was originally planning to.

it didn’t go much better after that. they got into conversation and her parents just kept making digs at her. she finally had enough when they brought up her love life.

“so have you met anyone?” she nodded.

“yeah, i’ve been dating my boyfriend mark since spring semester of freshman year.”

“oh, the one you told me about?” her mom asks, a look of disapproval on her face.

“that would be the one.”

“and he hasn’t cheated on you?” elle’s jaw clenched again.

“no,” she gritted out, “he hasn’t.”

“strange,” her mom mused. elle reached over in the booth, grabbing her bag. “where are you going?”

“somewhere where i’m not disrespected for the most basic things,” elle answered before standing up. she could see mark standing from the corner of her eye as she stood at the end of the table. “i thought maybe things had changed and you were ready to be loving parents but i was wrong. i’m done. for good. don’t call again, ever.” she left then, mark hot on her heels when she got to the hostess stand. he pulled her into his chest when they got outside, letting her sob against him. he slowly walked her toward where his car was parked a few spots away, unlocking it and helping her into her seat before going around to his so she could cry in private.

“i’m sorry it didn’t go the way you wanted it to baby,” he said quietly, rubbing her thigh with his thumb.

“it’s my fault for thinking they had changed.”

“no, it’s their fault for being assholes.” elle let out a sad laugh. they watched as her parents exited the restaurant, three to go boxes in hand as they walked across the parking lot to their car.

“and they took the food i ordered!” elle gasped. mark shook his head.

“none of us ordered anything but drinks. how about we head back in and get you some food. or i can have ethan and dylan get stuff to go and we can wait out here.” elle shook her head.

“no, let’s go back in. i am dying for a cheeseburger.” mark laughed and elle smiled. he leaned across the console to give her a kiss and then the two were out of the car and making their way back into the restaurant to join the boys.

Taylor Swift's fans are renowned for their loyalty and dedication.

Known colloquially as "Swifties," they sell out stadiums in minutes; spend weeks creating intricate outfits that pay tribute to her albums; comb through her lyrics to find Easter eggs and secret messages.

Back in November, the fandom received national attention for taking action after Ticketmaster bungled the Eras Tour presale.

The backlash was so loud and so fervent that the Department of Justice launched an antitrust investigation into Ticketmaster's parent company. The power of Swifties became clearer than ever.

Indeed, the sheer passion of Swift's fans has helped make her the biggest pop star in the world — but that doesn't grant them absolute access to her life and personal space.

Recently, Swift obsessives have been exhibiting overzealous — and frankly concerning — behavior. Videos have circulated online that show swarms of people camping outside her home in New York City and Electric Lady Studios, where she's been spotted working in between tour dates. Other clips show fans chasing her car down the street.

It's one thing to wait for hours in the pouring rain to watch Swift deliver a spectacular concert. That's her job. It's another, more sinister thing to wait for hours on the sidewalk, just to film her car entering her home garage. That's her life.

Swift has been candid about fending off stalkers throughout her career, making this behavior particularly egregious for anyone who claims to care about her well-being.

"My fear of violence has continued into my personal life," she wrote for Elle in 2019. "I carry QuikClot army-grade bandage dressing, which is for gunshot or stab wounds. Websites and tabloids have taken it upon themselves to post every home address I've ever had online. You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things."

This is not to say that Swift's most fervent fans are all stalkers, but it's easy to see how this behavior could be triggering for someone who's been stalked. And as Swift said in her "Miss Americana" documentary in 2020, "There's a difference between 'I really connect with your lyrics' and 'I'm going to break in.'" Some Swifties clearly need to be reminded of where that line is.

This is also not the first time Swifties have overstepped. Some fans have been known to harass members of the LGBTQ community for analyzing Swift's songs through a queer lens. Others have sent insults and death threats to music critics for less-than-glowing reviews of Swift's music.

Of course, this behavior isn't unique to Swifties. But Swift's lack of admonition is uniquely strange. She has marketed herself as someone who's not afraid to speak up to defend her values, someone who has explicitly condemned homophobes and bullies in her music.

Swift has also said she's proud of her affectionate relationship with fans. She has invited Swifties to her Nashville home for album listening parties; sent personalized notes to celebrate milestones; donated money for college tuitions; protected concertgoers from aggressive security guards.

Unfortunately, a healthy relationship cannot be sustained with affection alone, be it interpersonal or parasocial.

At the risk of sounding like a wannabe therapist, constructive feedback is essential for growth — and when someone you love disrespects your boundaries, it's not constructive to say silent.

This is something that Phoebe Bridgers, Swift's friend and collaborator, knows all too well.

Although Bridgers experiences fame on a vastly different level than Swift, she has also been subjected to abuse and entitlement at the hands of "people with my picture as their Twitter picture."

In a March interview with Them, Bridgers said she was "bullied" in the midst of a speculative frenzy about her dating life — while she was on the way to her father's funeral.

"I've had people take more than I'm giving, and I'm giving a lot," Bridgers recently told the Wall Street Journal. "I'm pretty fucking transparent, because I would value that in someone whose music I liked when I was a kid. Seeing any representation of any feeling and anything true was awesome to me. To be punished for that is so dark."

"There's a higher chance that you'll meet a fan that you hate than a fan that you love," she added. "You're way more likely to be confronted with someone who just violated your privacy."

If these quotes rub you the wrong way, you may be the problem.

Connecting to a person's music does not give you the right to violate her privacy, and Bridgers isn't afraid to draw that line. I wish more musicians would follow suit.

Ahead of Bridgers' final performance at the Eras Tour on Sunday, I hope Swift is able to absorb some of her bravery and wisdom. It's OK to criticize people for bad behavior — and the fans who stick around are the ones worth keeping.

Even the media can get it right on occasion, the recent behaviour by some so called swifties is bordering on STALKING and needs to stop.

Unless we all want to go back to why she disappeared again.
