Finished Nuka World, some thots
Started really strong, and then it just turned into Minuteman stuff. Which is fine, I like the settlement building, but...there was a missed opportunity, here. I don't feel like I got a vastly difference experience from two different faction quest lines.
So, I killed Nisha. I spoke to her once. Fallout 4 is the kind of game where, if there isn't a marker above someone's head, they don't usually have anything to say, so I didn't feel like I had to? I was expecting to have to talk to her again at some point.
Nope. You see her once, and then you either kill her or help her kill one of the other bosses. Same goes for everyone else.
For the other named NPCS, like Dixie and Savoy, never spoke to them once. Again, Fallout 4 doesn't often reward you for seeking out dialogue, so I don't usually bother. And even when I did go see Mason and Mags of my own accord, I didn't get to talk to them; they just gave me busywork.
So, the plot starts really good with the Gaunlet, Colter, meeting Gage and the bosses, the first half of the middle with clearing the parks is good, because the parks have some interesting areas (some. Not all. Only some are interesting.), and then the end of it is...go get a settlement, go get another settlement, do this a few times. Oh no, one of the bosses you've spoken to once is angry! Go kill them!
Like...Mason and Mags seem like they could be interesting characters. I would like to talk to them about their ideals, their practices, how they run their gang and how their gang feels about things. How did Mason end up in the Pack? Why did Mags leave her life of comfort? Did Nisha make the Disciples or did she join, and how did she get to the top?
But...that would take more than 4 dialogue options at any given time. Can't do that. If someone on tumblr didn't tell me they give you grenade recipes at one point, I never would have known.
I've seen references to meetings with the bosses in fan content, so I was expecting something like that. I was expecting at one point to have a meeting, Mags being happy, Mason being chill, and Nisha threatening me. Y'know, direct confrontation on my choices. Nope. I gave the Pack and Operators everything and Nisha came up only twice.
Idk, I just feel like the map is really big, they could have put more areas and more substantial plot in.

Quick little Crossover/Death Shroud Epilogue WIP snippet. Sixty is a goddamn stubborn son of a bitch.
@ltcolonelcarter @thirium-800
"If everything was reset, then she has to be here." The android tried to stave off the panic in his voice as he walked through the abandoned amusement park, searching for a sign, any sign that he hadn't been too late and Kiki was still there...
Still alive.
"How do you know Kit will even remember you? If she was reset too, there's every likelihood that she's still human and memory retention wasn't possible." Connor, on the other end of the call however, couldn't help but voice concern for his distressed brother.
"I don't. I just know I need to find her... I need to know she's okay."
He made it through the gates past Nuka Town U.S.A and The Pack's lair and headed right towards the double doors embedded in the mountain.
The Disciples' Den.
The smell in the air once Sixty managed to sneak in was just as sickening as he remembered. Blood, decay and searing flesh. If he had a stomach, he'd be throwing up before he even made it to the top of the concourse.
He could hear screams coming from the lower level - Savoy and Dixie were likely torturing some poor soul shackled down there, but he had to keep moving.
The trails of blood spattered on the ramp led towards Nisha's quarters and the rows of cages beside it. Heads on pikes with candles stuck through the top of them were the only form of lighting around, but it didn't deter him.
Sixty checked each cage, one by one. Most had been either empty or the corpses inside them looked at least weeks old.
Except for one.

I don’t appreciate my dumbass brain waking me up at 2:30 in the morning, thinking I have to go to work today... Have a WIP from ‘Beneath his Throne’, since I’m wide awake with nothing better to do.
Sergio’s meeting with the Disciples goes in a direction that Gage isn’t too pleased with. Jealousy quickly leads to some intrusive, possessive thoughts.
---
The raiders were almost touching now, engaged in their conversation so deeply that they paid no mind to anyone else around. Fuck, there was that feeling again. A sickness in his guts that tugged and pulled and made him so. Fucking. Angry. At his inability to keep himself from getting roped into this nonsense, at Savoy, but most of all at Sergio...
He drove him mad. Made him feel unhinged. Played with him like he was nothing more than a temporary fancy before the next, more interesting, attractive thing came around. He wanted to go over and rip Sergio away and usher him from the building. Take him under his wing and guide him the way he knew he needed to go. Sergio didn't need advice from anyone else here. He brought him in. He was there for him any time of the day he was needed. HE was willing to do whatever it took to raise Sergio to the pinnacle of his potential...
Now Sergio was leaning closer, smirk turning into an interested, coy grin. Savoy made lazy gestures in the air before mocking a few quick, stabbing motions. Adrenaline flushed through his veins, sending Gage toppling over the edge of composure. He almost shoved himself off the wall, but restrained himself when he saw Savoy's hand was empty.
The minutes ticked by like hours. He couldn't relax. Couldn't bring himself to pretend everything was okay with this interaction... Savoy had seemed like the 'safer' choice, over Dixie, but now, Gage wasn't so sure. Perhaps it was the growing tension in his own mind, but this was all starting to feel - wrong.

Nuka World and what my Sole thinks about the people there.
Colter: he's fuckin dead. what more do you want?
Gage: Honestly she thought he was a huge dickhead but after travelling around with him for a while, noticing the small things he does, and the trust he gave her by opening up, she became super close to him. More than Mags or Sierra. Gage is her best friend.
Mason: Intimidated of him at first, but their friendship worked out very well. Love him. A huge softie and happy around dogs but not in front of people. Sole walked in on him once and saw him baby talking some puppies. It was a mutual agreement to never bring it up in front of the rest of the pack. Sometimes she still pokes fun at him. She has a huge crush on him.
Nisha: Absolutely fucking wicked. Cold blooded killer. Scary. Please stay away from me and my family. How do you fucking see?
Dixie: snake tongued Southern Satan spawn. Mental note: don't ever trust her.
Savoy: ...Weirdo...
Mags Black: Sassy. Cool. Collected. Kinda bratty though, but as long as you keep caps in her pockets, she's happy about it. Her and Xena have a good friendship and hang out every once in a while.
William Black: Boring. 0/10. Just kidding. He's okay, but they're not really acquainted. They don't chat unless it's about a job the operators need help with.
Lizzie Wyath: Like William, Xena doesn't really know her too well. They rarely ever talk to each other, but they're not on bad terms in any way
Dara Hubbell: She's not 100% there and a little bit off her rocker but she's sweet and sometimes Xena pays her visits and repairs their spacesuits.
Shank: He's alright but he's obviously too shady. Definitely doesn't want him around when she's got more than a few measley caps.
Sierra Petrovita: Xena may be stone cold and stoic at times but with Sierra around, she's usually laughing. She wasn't sure about her at first and kinda thought she was annoying but they're still pretty good friends.
Cito: A gentle giant with a warm heart and back breaking hugs. Xena is very fond of him and will kill anyone who hurts him or his "family". No really.

THE WORK OF WOLVES HIATUS (aka lol i lied)
i must make a confession: the next chapter of the work of wolves i haven't actually yet, uh, redrafted??? WHOOPS. but since this would have been the last chapter before the hiatus to write the rest of the fic, i'm bringing said hiatus FORWARD so that the NEXT chapter will be the first of the next batch which should, theoretically, come to the end of the fic but WHO KNOWS!!!!!!!!
the hiatus might take 6 months. or three. i am unsure. basically i gotta write all the chapters and then redraft them so they're Actually Good which can take a varying amount of time!!!!!!!! and also during this break i should really write some fic for, like, the first sentinel or literally anything else, so um!!! EXPECT MORE SOMETIME. unsure when. once again this doesn't mean the fic is dead it's just cooking. like real slow.
ANYWAY NEXT CHAPTER: INDETERMINATE. but since i love u all have a sneak peek at the next chapter anyway (just to prove it exists):
Nisha goes with Andrea to take the stockpile.
It seems only right to. So soon after receiving word of the final fate of the Minutemen—news that had spread across the parks to the tune of bottles cracking open and toasts to their demise—Andrea had informed Mason of his part in the campaign, and she’d arranged for a small contingent of his people to take out the ghouls at Sunshine Tidings to form a small outpost with enough supplies to survive a few weeks on their own. He’d been content to stay in the park and watch out for those Operator fucks, in his words, but when Andrea had turned to Nisha and asked how soon she could form a team to handle the stockpile, she’d just crossed her arms and smiled.
“My girls and I are ready to head out as soon as you wish, Overboss,” she’d said, and Andrea had absently nodded before glancing back to Nisha with a lop-sided grin.
“You too?”
“Well, it wouldn’t be a very good look if I allowed our esteemed boss to get her ass kicked at the first sign of trouble, hm?”
Andrea had mumbled something about her having low expectations, but a few days after the Pack had secured Sunshine Tidings and prepped it for their arrival, Nisha, Andrea, and a handful of her girls headed out for the monorail, armed to the teeth despite the Overboss’s insistence they were going to try for diplomacy first.
“I thought you said you wanted them all dead?” Nisha asks in the elevator up to the monorail, the cheery music crackling in and out. It’ll take more than a few rides to get the whole group up here, but there’s little to be done for it unless someone wants to take a risk sneaking past the turret room. “I don’t think those two ideas are particularly compatible.”
Andrea rolls her eyes, chewing her gum obnoxiously loud. There’s a few wads of familiar gum currently wedged beside the buttons in the elevator, which is disgustingly childish and yet very typical. “I do, but if we can get them to clear out first without us having to lose people, I want you to track them down and dispose of them on a more even-footing. Right now, they’re dug in hard. I’d rather coax them out first than have to flush them out after.”
“All strategy and no fun makes a Disciple a dull girl,” one of the Disciples behind Nisha teases, and there’s a round of tittering at that.
“Exactly why I didn’t bring Dixie along,” Nisha reminds them all, and Andrea sighs in something like disappointment. Nisha’s really going to have to let the Overboss see firsthand why Dixie is a chaotic component to add to any delicate operation, but the elevator stops with a judder, the doors opening into the station, and Nisha loses her concentration as they pile out.
THANKS FOR YR PATIENCE

NUKA-WORLD’S CALENDAR
The raiders of Nuka-World are happy to present their 2289 calendar! Buy your copy from your most trusted caravans!
All profits will go to the raiders, so they can keep terrorizing the Commonwealth.
APRIL 2289 - THE EYE COLLECTOR
The Disciples’ sweetheart Dixie is showing off her killer implants (don’t worry, they’re detachable!)—if you want some of those, ask her! Watch out if you got blue eyes, we heard she’s into those at the moment.

Note
As much as I love the F4 companions, I've always wished there was more with the Nuka World Raider Bosses. Do you have any headcanons for Mason, Mags, William, and Nisha?
I wasn’t sure if you meant general or relationship so I did a bit of both!
Also I don’t know all the lore so apologies if there’s incorrect stuff here
Mason
Despite the Pack appearing as a bunch of lawless animals, Mason is actually probably the leader in Nuka-World who takes their position the most seriously. This is probably because of how hard he had to fight to get there, and to maintain the hierarchy.
There are plenty of people around to meet his baser needs, but he actually does believe in having a mate for life when he finds the right person (Sole) and is fiercely loyal
Also contradictory to what you might expect from the nature of the pack, he actually baths rather often. Judging from the mustache, the haircut, and the facepaint? He’s actually very into preening.
Hygiene and preening are also the practices that Mason considers most intimate. With him, he’ll be insistent upon you letting him wash your back and your hair, and he’s very gentle. When you and him are established as mates he’d actually like it if you would shave his facial hair (and that takes serious trust)
He actually gets along with more of Sole’s friends than Gage does. He’s got respect for anyone with enough spirit, and Sole often attracts those types of people. In the right circumstances? He’s even kinda afraid of Piper.
Mason doesn’t like having to put down other pack members. He doesn’t take pleasure in killing the people who challenge him for his position, though he thinks it is necessary to maintain order. To him, they’re people who, though they made a stupid mistake in thinking they could best him, were admirable in that they were brave enough to challenge the status quo. He’s probably actually the least sadistic of Nuka-World’s leaders
Mags and William Black
Mags and William were actually born in a large, city-like settlement to parents who were successful caravan company owners. This is where their taste for sophistication comes from.
Mags is actually the most sadistic of the leaders. While yes, Nisha loves blood, death, and pain, she views them as only that. Mags views those things as tools and vehicles of retribution, maybe even a twisted sort of justice. It’s all very personal to her.
I personally don’t think Mags and William are fucking. But would they be against a threesome with the Overboss? Absolutely not.
Mags and William are known for their attempts at sleeping into people’s good graces. They did it with Colter, they’ll do it with the Overboss. They can actually get a little competitive over it, but they also coordinate their efforts based on their observations of what the Boss likes. They compare notes.
I’m gonna say it. William is a lot better at the whole aftercare thing than Mags. So you’ll probably get cuddles from him while she goes out to have a smoke
They do have a sort of familial love which comes with the length of their relationship, but in the right circumstances it could easily be ignored by either one. They are raiders, after all. They won’t tolerate the other keeping secrets.
Nisha
She’s cold, but she isn’t totally unfeeling. She just has a very strict personal code which tends to dominate her emotional responses. She’s not without joys or generosity in the right circumstances
Her usual emotions range from lust to bloodlust, but it wouldn’t be impossible to bring forth other things. She definitely has a sense of humor.
She’s actually less emotionally stunted than Gage. She’s fine at expressing and accepting her emotions, she just doesn’t experience so many of them.
She is the leader who is least likely to try to fuck the Overboss for the purpose of preferential treatment. But will she still go for it? Yes. Nisha is actually a very curious person by nature. So any relationship with her will began as one of her many little tests
She’s also surprisingly the most parental of the leaders, she has to be, considering so many of her flock are honestly people who are very desperately trying to substitute cruelty for any personality
She’s the oldest of the Disciples, and thus, the most tired of shit
Nisha: Savoy I’m gonna need you to stop saying weird shit all the time
Dixie: so how did you sleep last night?
Savoy: I don’t sleep. I only dream.
I’m gonna be honest. The time it would take, psychologically, to make Nisha into someone who can have a relationship with 100% trust is more time than we have. So she’s never gonna reach 100% certainty you’re not going to stab her while she’s sleeping, and you should never have 100% certainty she isn’t going to stab you while she’s sleeping
But: she won’t lie to you pretty much ever. Even if the truth would destroy you.

The transportation array drops them in a small clearing with a flash of fire at their feet, a few lingering notes from Chenqing, and only slight disorientation. Lan Wangji has read that the use of the teleportation talisman is heavily taxing to the spirit and can often cause physical disruption in the user, but Wei Ying shows no sign of pain or confusion, and nor do Jin Rulan or Liu Weixin, who, if the array’s design can be trusted, also contributed spiritual power to the effort. Jin Rulan even manages to look somewhat bored by the process.
“I don’t understand why we all have to come look at whatever this is,” he says as soon as Wei Ying lowers his hands and the glow of the array at their feet fades. “Why can’t we just—” he cuts himself off and stares hard at Wen Sizhui, who wears an expression of distinct discomfort. “What?”
Wen Sizhui bites his lips and looks to Wei Ying, who has gone still.
“The buildings were burned down,” Zhou Xiuying reports quietly.
Lan Wangji follows her line of sight and strides quickly through the trees, but he can already smell the smoke in the air, lingering and acrid. He reaches the edge of the forest and sees only ash and rock in the large space where the compound once sat. There are no smoldering embers and no half-burnt husks to mark the structures; only lines of soot and the pattern of paving stones show any indication of the size or use of the space.
Wei Ying grabs his sleeve, and he realizes he’s walked right up to the edge of the ward’s inscription.
“Don’t touch it.” Wei Ying guides him back slightly. “How many people were here?” he asks.
“None.” The guards were dead when he left. Still, Wei Ying obviously has doubts. He raises Chenqing to his lips and plays a low and beguiling melody, coaxing and haunting by turns.
On the other side of the ward, ashes swirl in still air.
Rise.
Drift gently around ghostly faces—two, then three, the four, then more, until seven ghosts are drawing themselves together along the inside of the ward. They ripple as they cross over the etched lines, but seem to suffer no other effects; perhaps it is truly inert now, or deliberately broken.
Wei Ying cocks his head to the side and whistles, sharp and commanding. The ghosts rearrange themselves. There are men and women, some are old, others in the prime of life. Wei Ying turns and looks expectantly at Zhou Xiuying.
“What do you see?”
“They all died violently and without proper funerary rites,” she says, crossing her arms over her chest, her sword gripped tight in her hand. “They can’t move on in peace.”
Wei Ying nods and shifts his attention to Liu Weixin, who presses his lips hard together and squints at the ghosts, as if that will improve his assessment. He sketches a talisman in front of his face and pushes it outward. Each spirit takes on a dull red glow, strongest at one end of the line and diminishing with each ghoul in succession.
“You’ve put them in order by the strength of their resentment,” Liu Weixin determines. Relief spreads over his face as Wei Ying nods again.
Jin Rulan scowls and stares off at the trees instead of meeting Wei Ying’s gaze.
“You wanted to go night hunting,” Wei Ying says, as if this is a familiar impasse.
“This isn’t night hunting,” Jin Rulan protests, waving his arm at the line of ghosts. “There’s no hunting involved.”
Wei Ying waits.
“That one suffered lingchi” Jin Rulan huffs, gesturing at a ghoul who bears innumerable cuts on his face and hands. It’s an unusual and harsh sentence, carried out for only the highest of crimes. Lan Wangji finds looking at the marks difficult; it is too easy to remember waking to the smell of blood and rot. Jin Rulan, he notes, also averts his eyes quickly. “And that one was drowned. Happy now?”
Wei Ying just grins at him and turns to Wen Sizhui.
“These ghosts were probably suppressed when the ward was active, and the fire was built into the design.” He points to three portions of the etched diagrams. “Whoever was here, burning the buildings was always part of their plan.”
“Mn. Make a copy of the ward; it might be useful later.” Wei Ying looks back along the line of ghosts. “Shall we try Inquiry?” he asks, and wheels on his heel to face Lan Wangji.
“I cannot,” Lan Wangji admits. Even if he carried a guqin, the spiritual power required is currently beyond his grasp.
Wei Ying’s face scrunches up. “I don’t suppose you know a transposition for dixi? Or perhaps Zewu-jun has one for xiao?”
There is no such transposition. “Inquiry requires seven strings.”
Wei Ying sighs. “Well, it was worth a try. They’re not too talkative. I think some of them had their tongues cut out.” Wei Ying turns back to Jin Ling. “How do you suggest finding out more about them?”
“Evocation requires a physical medium.” Jin Ling’s nose wrinkles. “Maybe Trace?”
“Could be helpful,” Wei Ying agrees. “Do you all have paper?”
Lan Wangji watches with interest as they produce paper and grind three grades of ink, from a watery gray wash to a thick, rich black.
“One of yours?” he asks, as Wei Ying steps back to watch his disciples work. But Wei Ying shakes his head.
“He Sect. They introduced it at a discussion conference a few years ago, for determining a spirit’s location of birth and death, along with their movements in the week before they died.”
It’s clever. Without a physical medium or sufficient knowledge of the guqin, determining more of a spirit’s history could lend valuable insight to pacification efforts. A spirit’s family or the site of a disturbed grave might be found much more quickly. Lan Wangji nods approval, and Wei Ying smiles lightly.
“Come watch,” he says as Zhou Xiuying and Wen Sizhui quickly settle cross-legged beside their prepared paper and ink. Jin Ling and Liu Weixin are only a few moments behind.
It is an interesting process. The ink blooms over the pages, gradations of definition outlining mountains and forests, roads and lakes and even crisp, dark characters—town names and Sect enclaves. A trail of footprints mark the last few days of a life.
The results are mixed. Only two of the ghouls seem to have died here, a few days’ journey caught between Moling and Gusu—a man bearing a cursemark that covers his neck and torso, and a woman who shows clear signs of death by qi deviation. The lingchi victim’s map shows a death in Yueyang. The drowned ghost met his end in Caiyi. The others record deaths in Tanzhou, and Yingchuan and Qishan.
Jin Ling glares at his papers. “This can’t be right,” he says. “Maybe it didn’t work.”
“It worked,” Zhou Xiuying insists. “Trace doesn’t allow spirits to lie. It’s a physical record of the soul, not a question.”
“Perhaps someone moved them for a night hunt?” Wen Sizhui sounds doubtful, even as he voices the thought.
“Perhaps,” Wei Ying agrees, but his eyes are on Lan Wangji. It is not difficult to follow his suspicions. Liang Feihong was desperate enough to risk two souls for vengeance. Something as simple and commonplace as a planned nighthunt is unlikely to prompt such an act.
“What do we do with them now?” Liu Weixin asks.
Wei Ying’s face twists as he examines the ghouls again. “A few might be pacified by offerings, but the rest are too bound to revenge.”
“So, banishment?” Jin Rulan asks, a talisman already held between two fingers.
Wei Ying considers for a moment. His eyes slide back to Lan Wangji.
“How many spirit bags do we have?” he asks his disciples.
Zhou Xiuying, Liu Weixing and Wen Sizhui between them produce four such bags.
“Build a shrine,” Wei Ying directs his nephew, “We can’t offer burial, but we can do that much. Perhaps some only want to know they’re remembered. We’ll see how many are left afterward.”
Jin Rulan’s shoulders slump, but he does as he’s been told and soon there is a small offering of their combined supply of travel food, a selection of loquats and a few handfuls of paper money to burn.
Wei Ying steps close and stands warm at Lan Wangji’s shoulder as Wen Sizhui starts the fire.
“Does burning paper money work?” he asks, soft enough that their companions won’t hear. “Did you get any?”
“It is not a Lan custom,” Lan Wangji tells him, because it isn’t. He doesn’t elaborate. He does not know how to put into words the vagueness of his thoughts on his own death, the lack of distinct memory combined with the iron-hard certainty that he did die.
“I burned some for you.” Wei Ying is watching the flames dance in the steel bowl Liu Weixin had produced for the purpose. “I—” his mouth snaps shut with a click and he steps away, careful space reinserted between them. Lan Wangji watches as he crosses his arms over his chest, clearly discomfited.
“Thank you.” It is … gratifying, in a way, to know that Wei Ying mourned him.
Wei Ying shrugs the thanks away. “Doesn’t matter much if you didn’t get it.” He coughs. “Looks like we’ll have to take care of a few of these the hard way after all,” he says, nodding at the spirits. Only one, the weakest, has responded to the offering. Lan Wangji lets the change of subject pass without remark.
“The ones who died here might be most useful,” he says instead. “They carry some of the strongest resentment, and likely saw their murderers. Xiongzhang could ask after the focus of their vengeance.”
“And Zewu-jun is too honest to hide their answers,” Wei Ying agrees, nodding. “Will you go to Gusu then?” he asks. “Or can I tempt you to Yiling first? I’ll give you the talismans I have made, of course, but in Yiling we could try other methods, and Wen Qing might know—” he talks faster with every word, like he thinks he has to be convincing.
“Yiling is fine,” Lan Wangji assures him. The curse’s implications eat at his thoughts, and he would like to have more evidence than a selection of angry souls to present to his brother. And of course, Yiling has the benefit of Wei Ying’s presence.
“Oh.” Wei Ying smiles, something tentative in the expression. “Good then.”
“Wei-zongzhu?” Liu Weixin approaches them. “Which spirits should we keep?” he asks, twirling his pair of bags around his fingers.
Collecting four ghouls does not take long—one for each bag, Wei Ying tells his disciples, as these spirits are more likely to tear into each other than not. Then he pairs them off and frees the remaining two ghouls from Chenqing’s control, for suppression and elimination. Jin Rulan in particular takes evident satisfaction in the act; Wen Sizhui, in contrast, is the most efficient in his movements, and Zhou Xiuying’s sword work betrays her He Sect training.
“It’s a shame we couldn’t get anything else,” Wei Ying says as Liu Weixin dispatches the last spirit, a grasping ghost with needle teeth and a hollow in its belly. “Though I suppose we should count ourselves lucky there was anything left at all. If these souls were gathered for a purpose, they should have been dealt with before the fire.” He holds out the collection of spirit bags with a curious quirk of his eyebrow, and Lan Wangji carefully adds them to his qiankun pouch.
“Lianfang-zun has such a clear memory,” Wei Ying sighs, “He hardly writes anything down if it’s not official business. If this really is his doing, it’ll be difficult to prove.”
Lan Wangji nods. Even in his own memories, on occasions when he knew for fact that Jin Guangyao exaggerated a recollection, or misspoke, it had been difficult to sway others’ belief in his words. The position of Chief Cultivator would seem to convey more respect on his shoulders, not less.
“Tomorrow, tomorrow,” Wei Ying says as he turns back to the forest, and the dim but still-glowing transportation array. “Today, we have other worries.”
*
They arrive not in the Mass Graves, as Lan Wangji expected, but in an open, airy courtyard framed on three sides by sturdy buildings and clean-swept boardwalks. The main gate, behind, is closely carved with talismans, and he can sense at least three layers of wards extending outward from his location for several li. To the west lies a lotus pond, and beyond it what looks to be an archery field. It is not Lotus Pier, in any sense, but it is clear that Wei Ying drew from his childhood home in the design of the compound, just as the dark woods and red embellishments recall the halls of Qishan Wen. The crows in flight, carved into latticed windows and screens and embroidered onto hanging curtains, seem unique to Yiling-Wei, and match the small embroidered details at Wei Ying’s collar.
Wen Qionglin is waiting for them, unchanged from the last time Lan Wangji met him but for his clothes, which are of finer fabric and much cleaner. He smiles at Wen Sizhui, and looks curiously between Wei Ying and Lan Wangji.
“Liang Feihong, patient for Wen Qing,” Wei Ying says, twirling Chenqing as he steps out of the array that, here, is etched into the stone and anchored to both the lotus pod and an encompassing iron rim. Zhou Xiuying has hardly stepped onto the boardwalk when a young woman in Wei sect colors comes running to meet her—her wife, Lan Wangji gathers, from the tone of their reunion.
“I’ll show you around in a moment,” Wei Ying tells him, “I just need to see Jin Ling off first.”
“I’m fine,” Jin Ling protests. Lan Wangji tries to focus on other things as what is evidently a long-familiar family argument erupts: Jin Rulan is adamant that he can travel alone, by sword, and that he has enough talismans, and that yes, obviously, he has his Jiang spirit bell and his Jin-embroidered protections and yes, even that charm you gave me, Dajiu, can I go now? Lan Wangji finds the looming menace of the Mass Graves as he examines the roofline, its position indicating that the Sect grounds likely sit just outside the town of Yiling itself, a guarding presence between the common people and a problem the entire cultivation world has been unable to solve for generations.
Wei Ying extracts a promise of a message by Jin butterfly as soon as his nephew reaches Lotus Pier, and then he rejoins Lan Wangji, walking with his hands clasped behind his back and looking pleased with himself.
“I think it’s the eldest sibling thing,” he says, as he draws close. “That, or he’s absorbed all the worst parts of Jiang Cheng and his father at once and there’s no room left for Shijie’s influence. A-Yuan has never been so intractable.”
Wen Yuan is inspecting a quiver of arrows and speaking quietly with Wen Qionglin on the other side of the courtyard. Lan Wangji does not comment on habits Jin Rulan might have learned from a cultivator whose general approach to rules at his age was to rather gleefully break them.
“What do you think?” Wei Ying asks, gesturing at the courtyard, the buildings, and the lotus pond. He grins, mischievous, and waves in the general direction of the Mass Graves. “You were expecting to be back there, weren’t you. In the Demon-Summoning Cave?”
Lying is forbidden, and the thought had, indeed, crossed his mind, even though the young Wei cultivators looked far too hardy to have spent so much of their daily lives among the restless dead.
“It’s still up there,” Wei Ying assures him, as if he might be disappointed if it weren’t. “I can show you later—some of my best experiments are there, still.”
Lan Wangji has no particular interest in revisiting what Wei Ying had termed his ‘blood pool,’ or any experiments of a similar nature.
“You mentioned Wen Qing,” he says.
“How’s that talisman feeling?” Wei Ying asks. “I could show you the library first—we’ve got a library, not as good as Gusu’s of course, but I think you’d like some of the collection—and, oh! We could get you a new horse-tail whisk, if you want one? Or a training sword? Or maybe you’d like to see the sword hall … ” his grin grows wider and wider as he speaks, until his eyes are nearly squeezed shut by his own mirth. “I’ll stop, I’ll stop,” he says. “You know, it’s really amazing. Your face is so different, but the expression is exactly the same.”
Something unfurls in Lan Wangji’s center like a sun-seeking flower. That Wei Ying can recognize him without the soul bond—that Wei Ying remembers him well enough, after so long a time, to make such an observation—soothes a prickle of unease in his thoughts. Small worries he hasn’t put a name to quiet as Wei Ying escorts him through the enclave’s sun-drenched pathways, pointing out lush gardens and chattering about his disciples as if he never sat in a dark, damp cave that smelled of mold and blood and called it his home.
Never wreathed himself in resentment.
Never gave up the sword.

Man now I wanna talk bosses, what do you think of the Nuka World bosses? What does Lucy think?
Alright, let’s go (i will swear a bit and not go fully serious all the time). I won’t push theories either, just some thoughts based on my oc personality and so on.
Nisha:
Lucy: “Oh just kill that fucker already, instead of surviving you are just making a mess.”
She doesn’t have respect for killers like her. If you want to kill someone just do it fast and be done with it. The fact that her and disciples suck pleasure from just pure torturing their victims is a sin even for her and comparing her with other bosses she seems to just kill for killing, nothing else, pure  psychopathic cut-throat like she is described. Also you can read a lot from ones eyes and face expression and with her and the rest its impossible since they hide behind their masks all the time, Lucy hates it when she cannot read other people since you can easily fake your voice tone. Their base is a mess, the way they fight is a mess and she cannot really understand what aside from murderding is her goal. She is also very proud and confident in herself person, thinking she is the best one out there and the only thing stopping her from being a boss herself is some remaining feeling of decency for some base rules that has been made between gangs but she doesn’t deny there weren’t accidents. But being like that is something that doesn’t really adds to “trust” feeling of Lucy towards her, especially threatening her from the very start is already a taunt for future fight. Besides i don’t believe Nisha wouldn’t actually change her mind and put all rules aside at some point anyway, its just the way she is. Despite her past and her parents being killed by the raider who took her under his wing and then abandoned Lucy just cannot dig out any sympathy towards her. She is a killer too but she killed for money or to shake some political corrupted figures, not because she had pleasure in it. Job has to be done and that’s it. Nisha is probably an example of going even deeper into the darker side that Lucy wouldn’t want to end up with so she decides to destroy her in the end.
Me, personally, Unicornu - she has an interesting concept but i just never got to like her for some reason, no matter how many times i did nuka world, if they would add some remaining “humanity” under that psycho skin maybe. P.s Dixie is even worse than her i think, jezzus. Savoy seems cool but he is like a dog there, just following orders and probably getting a free fuck on a way. Theres not much about him but i know someone who wrote a whole pieces with him - which is: nuka-after-dark.
Mags Black:
Lucy: “She’s ok, i like the way she works but she could lose that broom from her ass and live a little”
Now now, Operators and their place is what brushes Lucy the right way, bringing some memories from pre-war. They are a bit stiff and fancy but it doesn’t disturb her as long as Mags goals stay on making the caps and bringing more deals into the Nuka Town. Let’s state it, Lucy also likes money, cash and riches. You know how they say that money won’t bring you happiness but she would rather cry in a nice expensive car. Something like this. Anyway, Mags along with her brother and Lizzie had crime in their nature from the very young age and they seem a bit more normal in their approach as oppose to Nisha. They are organized, they don’t go openly into the conflict and always gather a lot of data. For Lucy this is the best and right approach and choosing her as the leading gang in her opinion will benefit the Nuka World most in terms of caps. I’m sure she wouldn’t even mind losing the collars on traders if that would mean bringing more tourists. After the powering plant, Mags having a talk about just accepting your nature slides into her like a hot knife in a butter. Lucy was denying herself at early age that there is some justice left and she could bring it the harmless way but she got wronged and understood the corruption will crawl on everyone anyway and the only way to survive out there is to accepting your true nature so she can relate to that in a way. The only time Mags is annoying her is her stiffness and coldness as oppose to Lucy who likes to loose breaks from time to time, keeps the mind more relaxed. She would convince her to organize some “party” at Parlor but its still so official and boring that to make things more fun people just end up beating each other.
My opinion: Like i said in tags before, i don’t believe she wanted to be a raider but because parents did cut them from money and they were always being pulled towards crime, having no regrets there was no place for them in Commonwealth so to survive they created a gang. Npc’s always say like Mags, William and Lizzie don’t seem like born into this life but they still do hell of a job so that would also point that they didn’t choose to be raiders but what other choice they had. They want money and they will get it one way or another and i kind of like it. At least Mags has some holotapes and backstory so i can hang on to her better in a way.
Mason The Alpha:
Lucy: “He said he isn’t my friend after all i did but i’m sure he has my back anyway, as long as i stand tall and confident”
Lucy has a lot of respect in the way he holds his gang along with his position. As oppose to Nisha and Mags even if its not visible i’m sure he needs to keep himself one way or another on top while constantly dealing with other raiders questioning him and trying to get a throne for themselves either by fighting him or trying to poison him or something, and that my friend needs some balls. She doesn’t believes Mason is stupid. He must have known some psychology and read a lot of books about human society and animal ladder kingdom to get where he got aside from pushing all his effort into building muscles. As oppose to Mags he knows how to have fun and surely loves parties in the theater.  And as oppose to Nisha also has more focus on job being done rather than making a mess. He keeps his place clean, despite being full of animals, she notices it (as oppose to some bloody ass disciples butcher cave). Lucy knows behind all that paint and bones lies a curious and smart man who chose the life he chose for one reason or another, that is not known but maybe once she gets his full trust and support he shall open that big hairy chest of his and share his secret (i won’t come with a theory on my own yet). The only problem she would have with Mason is the constant thought of keeping her looks on point, strong and confident, otherwise she fears he will start questioning her position and smell some weakness so to have a loyalty of the Pack she needs to always be on a good terms with Mason but her playful part of nature only helps with that. He and his gang are best suited for taking over settlements and fighting in general, they are brave, strong, fierce and just charge onward, no regrets or second thoughts whatsoever, and that howling on a battlefield, man. Sure would send some shivers. But Lucy keeps them as the second in charge gang because the profit and caps are still more important and she prefers to keep business organized and clean without scaring the tourists and traders.
My opinion: Now that’s how you make a cool npc. He is strong, funny, confident and keeps to some base unbreakable rules. Pretty balanced, my only complain is again about lack of backstory. Like wouldn’t be it interesting finding some notes or Mason diary how he just puts on a show and really is actually fucking soft and calm man. And he did tarred and feathered other alphas because he read about it in a book again and that made him avoid the killing or something. Its hard to say but he is interesting and i would love to find out more.
So shortly what Lucy thinks at the end in a goofy way:
Nisha <-- has to go, proud and dangerous as hell, trust is no option, hides face all the time and will try to kill her no matter what. Dislikes her methods and the way she kills. Her cave is a fucking mess and that doesn’t help at all.
Mags <--- good approach, caps, caps, caps and fancy shit, keeps the town organized, has a lot of secrets gathered on terminal, can trust her later on, a bit stiff but that’s bearable. And she has Lizzie with who she makes friends. William has a crush on Lucy. Family full of fancy bitches. Lucy’s one herself so yeah...
Mason <--- respectable as hell, sure smart but hides it, unbreakable and fierce at the battlefield, cool paint, best buddy to drink and party, sure has some cool pre-war furry scarfs in the backstage, loves to have him around for protection, like a big older brother, squishing Gage if he hurts her feelings. Wishes to gets his full trust at some point and gain his friendship but that might be against his rules.

Sister Golden Hair America cover James Graff solo singing live music 12 string acoustic electric guitar Ft. Lauderdale Florida Supersports Motor "If you were to dedicate the rest of your life to easing suffering in the world - now and into the future - what would you do? How would you do it?" "Sister Golden Hair" is a song written by Gerry Beckley and recorded by the band America for their fifth album Hearts (1975). It was their second single to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, remaining in the top position for one week. The lyrics were largely inspired by the works of Jackson Browne. Beckley commented, "[Jackson Browne] has a knack, an ability to put words to music, that is much more like the L.A. approach to just genuine observation as opposed to simplifying it down to its bare essentials... I find Jackson can depress me a little bit, but only through his honesty; and it was that style of his which led to a song of mine, 'Sister Golden Hair', which is probably the more L.A. of my lyrics." The band previewed the song for Browne while touring together with the singer, at whose suggestion the lyric originally written as: "Will you meet me in V.A." - referring to Virginia - became "Will you meet me in the air". Beckley adds that "Sister Golden Hair" "was one of the first times I used 'ain't' in a song, but I wasn't making an effort to. I was just putting myself in that frame of mind and I got those kind of lyrics out of it."
