Wow was the last doll design too intimidating for you to make? Well don't worry! I've crafted some beginner friendly pals for you!
They're sleepy, theyre silly, their arms flop around! They're raviloi faced sky friends! Pattern is available for Pay What You Like on my KO-FI here :)
a month or two ago, I made the prototype here, and this is the final result!
the stitching is a bit wobbly in places, and some of the teeth don't look too great, but im very proud of how it came out as my first plushie haha! next mission is to make a giant eel plushie hehe, like this one

I really love sewing stuffed animals. While scouring Etsy for PDF patterns (as one does), I encountered this recreation of a "sleepy cat" toy from the 1940s.
(image of the pattern cover from the Etsy listing, depicting three renditions of the cat toy).
Of course I had to make the toy myself.
Now, PDF reproductions of older patterns have been hit or miss, in my experience. Sometimes they're very well-reproduced and the instructions are comprehensive and make sense. Other times, though... they aren't. Fortunately, this sleepy cat pattern was in the former category.
I made this for a friend's niece out of black fleece, with big, black button eyes that I purchased from a craft store and a little pink nose made of felt. I sanded the buttons so that I could paint the rims white with acrylic paint. This cat isn't sleepy at all! She's so wired on caffeine that she's seein' sounds!
(photo of the face of the cat toy I sewed, with her big button eyes).
I'm going to make another version of this toy (and this one will be actually sleepy, I promise) for @jasper-pagan-witch to commemorate a beloved real-life cat.
