This is an author's copy! (my favorite sort of book to make!)

They let me know that they wanted greens and purples, something that resembled the aurora borealis. And I was so excited, because I had the perfect book cloth for that! Duo book cloth is woven with two different colored threads so that it produces a color changing effect when you look at the book from different angles. And Duo Skarabaus is a green and purple combo, perfect! (it also is one of my favorite Duo colors overall)

So you just give the book a tilt and... voila

(folks thought these pics were of two different copies when I first shared them)

I was able to get my hands on some aurora borealis end papers for the inside as well!

And my favorite, receiving a photo of a book in its forever home after it has arrived!

after i shared my erwin fic recs, someone said that they were interested in some levi fic recs as well, sooo here i am! again, i should mention that most of these include explicit content, so read with caution! let us begin

these are titles i've already mentioned in my erwin post, but i OBVIOUSLY have to talk about them again: for the eruri x reader enjoyers, the entire fictional universe created by shinzouing is something that can't be missed (this is a story of the sea, certain obscure things, beyond the sea). peak writing. 10000/10.

again, for the eruri x reader enjoyers, something else i've already mentioned: two lovers by feelingthorny. the pining, silent affection, and body worship her writing contains are simply unmatched!!

(whenever feelingthorny and shinzouing include a "my love(s)" in their writing, especially if spoken by erwin, an angel is born)

how can i write a fic recs post without mentioning something by @riewritten?? i can't!! her delicious fic heap of solace was my introduction to her incredible writing, and oh man, what a wonderful journey it has been

now, i don't do much reading here on tumblr (which is why this post is 99% focused on ao3 fics) but i do know that there are so many gems to be found on here! i'm sure you all know them already, but i'm just going to mention them anyway: @levmada, @anlian-aishang, @jayteacups and @happybird16 are incredible authors, and they'll definitely fill the levi-shaped hole in your heart

back to ao3, feelingthorny has also written another incredible fic, expiring soon. this modern au is over 200k words but it's sooo worth it, it's not slow burn at all but the pining, oh man, the pining! i cried when she released the last chapter, it was a wonderful read

this one is probably the levi fic i'm the most attached to. lessons in patience by almondblossoms1000 was the very first university au i read, and i wasn't expecting to love it so much! i loved it so much, in fact, that it ended up inspiring me to write my own fic (even though it's not a levi fic). it's your tipical slow burn, fake relationship, frenemies (?) to lovers type of thing, and it's sooo enjoyable

another excellent university au is the feeling's mutual by wellitcouldbeworse3! i understand that these au's aren't everyone's cup of tea, but MAN i love them. this one is a proper enemies/academic rivals to lovers slow burn, and yeah, it might be an overdone trope, but do i look like i care? i LOVED it and YOU might, too ;)

third and last university au i'm going to recommend is percolate by heichoe. this one is restricted to ao3 users only, but MAN. personally, requesting an ao3 account just for this one fic would be worth the wait. it's another scrumptious enemies to lovers slow burn with a side of coffee shop au... can't you tell i find these tropes absolutely endearing? READ IT

i remember binging on this one last september in one afternoon, as a treat to myself after passing a scary exam, and i simply couldn't put the phone down: something about us by katonyx is a mix of royal au (reader is a princess, levi is her bodyguard), slow burn (duh) and murder mystery with a well deserved happy ending

high strung by HopelessCaseOfDaydreaming was hot. that's all i'm going to say. h o t

for the category "insanely good fics that made me cry for some reason even though i really really enjoyed them": orange zest and homemade vanilla extract by nylondreams!! it's a modern au, and i feel like this is a pretty accurate depiction of levi's relationship with physical intimacy

i read this ONCE all the way back in september but i still remember this one made me feel so many things. [watch me fall apart, watch me fall apart] by djmarinizela is a slow burn college au. it involves a relationship between a student and her professor, but the rating is green. uh, i think i cried after finishing it (it's a one-shot)

Welcome! For my next set of fanfic recs, here is my favourite modern epic, Attack on Titan. This is also to celebrate season 4 part 2 release tomorrow. We made it, everyone!

Levi is my favorite character so my list would mostly be Levi-centric. Hope you try to read these wonderful works!

The Broken Doll by aradian nights 

Author’s summary: When Mikasa Ackerman is kidnapped, she is not saved by Eren Jaeger. Instead, a thug from Wall Sina named Levi takes her under his wing. AU (status: complete)

Thoughts: This is the fic I always dreamed of seeing in anime/manga. Wholesome Ackerman fic, both caring immensely for each other, and with the right amount of familial fluff and plot angst. 10/10.

Lawless by kuchenackerman (tumblr: @kuchenackerman​ )

Author’s summary: Despite his youth, Eren Jaeger is one of the best and most required doctors of the Kingdom. Among those interested on his services is included a recognized criminal clan, which does not hesitate to use the youngest of the Ackerman as bait. Eren never imagined that this "harmless" girl in red dress would get him into so much trouble. (status: ongoing)

Thoughts: Very creative worldbuilding with accurate portrayal of characters. Plot is thickening as author-san updates. Not to mention, if you guys are looking for good Ackerman family dynamics, you can find it here.

Levi's by Tramontana Keeper 

Author's summary: Levi declares a one-man war on the sorry state of the military's pants (because whoever decided white was a good color for them was clearly an imbecile). Erwin is worried. (oneshot)

Thoughts: Crack fic at its finest. We'll see how far humanity's strongest can go when it comes to hygiene.

SnK x Reader

Dust, Diamonds by maokitty (tumblr: @phen0l​)

Author's summary: Ever since your youths, the two of you have been quite the pair: the toddler son of a prostitute and the child-thief who protected him; a thug who could waltz and a whore who could kill; humanity’s strongest soldier and an officer’s mistress. Thoughts: My absolute favorite. I feel like if you've been reading Levi x reader fics, you've probably come across this masterpiece already. Well-crafted plot, brilliant dialogues, heart-crushing angst and drama. 10/10.

Author's summary: In which Levi falls in love with the wife of a fallen comrade. (status: ongoing)

Thoughts: This is an emotion-heavy fic. It hits right home in the heart. Not to mention, the beautiful prose makes the read even more surreal and sweetly painful. 

To Sing a Song of Steel by CaptainDegenerate (tumblr: @heichoudaddery​ )

Author's summary: As a token of goodwill, you're sent to a hostile foreign nation to marry the son of the Czar. Having given up all you know and living inside a castle that doesn't welcome you, you're surrounded by people you cannot trust, your life hanging by a thread in the unsteady political climate. In your hopelessness, the only solace you find is in a man who's no longer fully human. (status: ongoing)

Thoughts: This one is Reader x Levi, but reader has a name. Besides the praiseworthy world-building, plot twists and tense scenes are going to throw you off your seat. Characters are most of the time on point also. A must read!

Blood Runs Thick by a_little_nostalgic

Author's summary: Modern AU: There was something about you not even you can put your finger on. The mysteries of your past unravel when you go into uncharted territory, but this is not a case you can solve alone. As you uncover the doors to your past, so do you bare yourself to the one dangerous man who can save you. (status: complete)

Thoughts: Best modern!AU that parallels the canon. A+ for creativity.

Thoughts: Modern AU. Tasteful angst that gives you feels as if you're watching a well-written movie.

Thoughts: OC is headstrong, a peerless girl boss who's able to stand head to head with our resident grump captain. Unique plot and good writing. Interesting backstory of the MC that intertwines quite well with canon.

Summary:

The first time he tells her she’s pretty, Hange is all kinds of filthy - sweaty, dirty, twigs in her hair and mud on her shoes and a great big disgusting ball of everything Levi hates.

She is also crying.

It isn’t like he’s never seen her cry before - they’re nine and crying is just what kids do, especially kids like Hange who like to play with things they probably shouldn’t play with and like to climb trees even though they’re kind of clumsy and so the crying, in it’s self, isn’t all that weird.
