Pemkot Denpasar Gelar Ramah Tamah Peringatan Hari Pahlawan
BALIPORTALNEWS.COM, DENPASAR - Pemerintah Kota Denpasar menggelar ramah tamah peringatan Hari Pahlawan Tahun 2023, Rabu (8/11/2023) di Gedung Merdeka Denpasar.
Kegiatan ini dalam rangka memperingati Hari Pahlawan setiap tanggal 10 November yang tahun ini mengangkat tema "Semangat Pahlawan untuk Masa Depan Bangsa dalam Memerangi Kemiskinan dan Kebodohan".
Berbagai agenda dilaksanakan Dinas Sosial Kota Denpasar dalam memperingati Hari Pahlawan tahun ini. Dalam ramah tamah Peringatan Hari Pahlawan diserahkan langsung hadiah kepada para pemenang Lomba Baca Puisi, Lomba Musikalisasi Puisi, dan Lomba Story Telling oleh Ketua Gabungan Organisasi Wanita (GOW) Denpasar, Ny. Ayu Kristi Arya Wibawa, Ketua DWP Denpasar, Ny. I.A Widnyani Wiradana, dan Ketua Gatriwara Denpasar, Ny. Purnawati Ngurah Gede dan Kadis Sosial Denpasar, I Gusti Ayu Laxmy Saraswati.
Ketua Dewan Pimpinan Cabang LVRI Kota Denpasar, Djro Wiladja dalam sambutannya menyampaikan ucapan terima kasih kepada Pemkot Denpasar yang telah memberikan perhatian kepada para Pahlawan.
"Kami merasa diberikan kehormatan berkumpul dan bernostalgia di Gedung Merdeka dalam memperingati Hari Pahlawan tahun ini," ujarnya.
Lebih lanjut disampaikan Hari Pahlawan sebagai momen penting dengan jasa-jasa para Pahlawan demi kemerdekaan dan kesejahteraan Bangsa Indonesia. Revolusi fisik di Kota Denpasar telah terjadi beberapa kali pertempuran dengan korban jiwa hingga puluhan orang serta telah diabadikan di Taman Pujaan Bangsa di Tabanan serta diabadikan di Kota Denpasar berupa patung dan tonggak sejarah. Dalam peringatan Hari Pahlawan tahun ini kami dapat bertatap muka dengan para Veteran dan generasi penerus Bangsa ini.
"Kami ucapkan terima kasih kepada Bapak Wali Kota, Bapak Wakil Wali Kota yang telah memberikan bantuan dan perhatian kepada Veteran serta ahli waris Pahlawan baik secara moril maupun materiil. Semoga semangat perjuangan Pahlawan selalu menginspirasi kita untuk menjadi warga negara yang lebih baik," ujarnya.
Sementara Kadis Sosial Kota Denpasar, I Gusti Ayu Laxmy Saraswati menyampaikan, Kota Denpasar pernah menjadi saksi dari peristiwa perjuangan. Dalam peringatan Hari Pahlawan yang menggelar ramah tamah dan berbagai lomba hingga menampilkan lagu, dan tari untuk menghormati dan menghargai jasa-jasa pahlawan yang telah berjuang dan berkorban demi negara dan kemerdekaan. Peringatan Hari Pahlawan dapat menjadi sumber inspirasi bagi generasi muda dan semua warga negara. Mereka dapat belajar dari semangat, dedikasi, dan pengorbanan pahlawan dalam memperjuangkan nilai-nilai dan hak-hak yang kita nikmati sekarang. Hari Pahlawan juga mengingatkan kita pada pentingnya kesatuan dan persatuan dalam menghadapi tantangan dan konflik.
"Kehadiran para Legiun Veteran kita senantiasa kompak, bahkan jiwa semangat beliau tidak penah pudar serta kami mengajak para generasi muda untuk terus kobarkan nilai kepahlawanan, torehkan prestasi yang membawa nama harum Kota Denpasar," ujarnya.(bpn)

New Music Release: Destiny Watson - "Rough Terrain"
Rough Terrain from the Release Me EP: It's hard being a rock on rough terrain. When you have to remain tough among everything going against you and remaining solid through it all. Rough Terrain is a reflection of my life that others can relate to.

Destiny Watson, originated in Lousiana, has expanded her way from down south by way of Florida and now resides into the DMV. Destiny began her musical career at the tender age of 6 with musical influences from her dad, Glen Watson from New Orleans who DJed and played instruments along with her uncle, DJRo (Q93boys). Destiny played the organ and was trained to play the flute, saxophone, and bassoon by her music teachers and band director. Her successful modeling career started her fan base, and it expands into the music industry where she now writes music, raps, sings, and plays the flute. Destiny's first EP, "Release Me EP," debuted 6.9.17 and she hopes to spark change in the minds of others with her vibrant poetic sound. She works with a set few of producers, and her musical influences stem from Tupac, Left Eye, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Erykah Badu, Lil Wayne, and Beyonce. The message tupac carries in his music along with the stories inspire her to write. Destiny being a writer of poetry where boundaries can be crossed, Erykah Badu and Lil Wayne have a fun twist to their style of writing and wordplay which is similar to her music. Destiny is multitalented and would not mind picking up her saxophone again. During the fall of 2017 at A3C, Destiny has opened up for Haitian Mufasa from VH1's signed hosted by Rick Ross (MMG), The Dream (Radio Killa Records), and Lenny S (Roc Nation) and Skippa Da Flippa (@flippahavin). The Release Me EP was up for Grammy consideration for best rap album in the first round votes. Currently, Destiny is working on her first album titled "Dxse" and will be releasing her singles "White Snow" and "Ring Master".
