I started a breakdown of this short scene here. I’ll try to finish it the next days and have it running on 2s! Got inspired by an AMB stream to have a go at this, and he’s correct, you really learn a lot just by copying alone...the stretching and movement of the character is super interesting to observe.

Dear moominpappa French,

Thank you for the very friendly letter which was sent to Lasse and me from Benn's! I gave Daniel's strip cartoon to Lasse who very much appreciated to have a helper on the Equator. If one has been drawing strip cartoons for seven years or more there's an everlasting hunt for new ideas and sometimes one ends up in desperation.

We were very thrilled by the Moomin game - it looks good! And it's a real joy and a help in the job to know there's a whole family liking the stories so much that it has gone mooministic! I don't know if you have the very first strip cartoons? Say, m. on the Riviera, m. valley goes djungle, The lonely island, The dangerous winter (where Mymble falls in love with Mr. Brisk). Ten books with m. strip cartoons - three synopsies in each - have been published in Swedish by Gebers förlag, (Stockholm, bot 159) but maybe they're already in the tremendous collection of your son?

Here in Helsingfors the cold has ceased and Lasse and I are beginning to wait for spring. We have a small island each, the very last into the sea, in the Finnish gulf east from H:fors and go out there as soon as the ices break up. On my island there are no trees, only rock and wild flowers and in the middle a mysterious, rather deep lake.

You would have liked the Big Storm (biggest in 60 years) last summer - 11 beaufort! The cellar was full of seaweed and sand afterwards, the boats moored to the hut and breakers going over most of the island. My Moominmamma (aged 86) was enchanted. Afterwards, a helicopter landed on our islands counting the survivors. Lasse was inspired to a new synopsis. Don't you think the Associated Newspapers at Fleet Street should send him to Africa to get new ideas?

Abbiamo incontrato Christian Fischer aka Poni PunkFlwr, dj producer e nuovo coordinatore di Beathacker, label dell'universo musicale sempre in crescita di Jaywork Music Group. Luca Facchini e Luca Peruzzi sono sempre alla ricerca di nuovi talenti da far crescere e far conoscere... Beathacker servirà proprio a questo. Ma andiamo con ordine.

Ci racconti brevemente chi sei e come fai il tuo lavoro?

Mi chiamo Christian Fischer aka Poni PunkFlwr (un Dj e Producer). Di giorno sono un grafico per l'industria cinematografica. Di notte sono un DJ e da circa due anni circa produco anche musica. Dal 1996 al 2001 sono stato resident al leggendario Djungle Club di Abensberg, nel cuore della Bassa Baviera, dove ho suonato con DJ Hell, Africa Bambaataa, Dj Tonka, Monika Kruse, Acid Maria, Massimo e Chris Liebing, tra gli altri.

Quali sono le tue influenze e i tuoi gusti musicali? 

Amo la musica fin da bambino. Ho iniziato suonando il corno tenore, anche in una banda di ottoni. Sono però sempre stato attratto dalla musica sintetizzata e dalle canzoni con influenze elettroniche, di ogni genere. Ad esempio, ero totalmente affascinato dai suoni (all'epoca c'erano molti campionamenti) di Bomb the Bass, S-Xpress, Coldcut o Inner City e Dee Lite. Non ho mai deciso perché mi piace la musica di tutti i generi. Ho sempre preferito la musica house ricca di voci. Soprattutto, la musica deve essere ballabile. Deve farti muovere, farti ballare e scatenare sentimenti.

Che ci racconti di questa nuova avventura con Jaywork Music Group, ovvero la label Beathacker? 

Sono arrivato a Jaywork tramite una traccia demo che Dj Techneck (l'A&R dell'etichetta Ritmika), che lo ha ascoltato e mi ha immediatamente offerto un contratto. Gli sono molto grato per questa opportunità, perché da allora ho continuato a pubblicare su una delle tante etichette del gruppo Jaywork. È molto divertente e mi ha aiutato a crescere e ad imparare moltissimo. Techneck infatti è sempre stato presente, ad aiutare e consigliare. Questo è esattamente ciò che Jaywork mi ha offerto ora. Come coordinatore per l'etichetta Beathacker vorrei infatti aiutare altri dj a crescere. Voglio davvero ingaggiare giovani produttori e musicisti, o ovviamente quelli più esperti, e supportarli nel portare la loro musica nel mondo.

Che musica produrrete? Che tipo di artisti state cercando?

Cerco musica che risvegli sentimenti, che tocchi le persone che l'ascoltano e la ballano e faccia loro dimenticare la vita di tutti i giorni. Semplicemente, un suono da club davvero buono. Naturalmente, negli anni il comportamento di ascolto e il modo in cui viene acquistata la musica sono cambiati radicalmente negli ultimi 20 anni. Ma la sensazione di stare sulla pista da ballo e poi all'improvviso arriva questo suono che ti fa fluttuare, questo è quello che cerco. Chi siano questi DJ o produttori, alla fine, non mi interessa. Se la musica mi cattura, verrà pubblicata. Sono abbastanza aperto quando si tratta di genere, dalla deep house alla vocal house, alla tech house o alla trance. Tutto può trasmettere esattamente quella sensazione.

Ci racconti qualcuna delle prossime release? Che sound ha? Chi la sta realizzando?

Dato che sono ancora all'inizio, non c'è ancora molto da dire a riguardo. Ci sarà sicuramente un altro mio disco su Jaywork, che ho prodotto prima di diventare l'A&R dei Beathacker. Ma musica di quel tipo è  un buon esempio di ciò che sto cercando per l'etichetta.

Quali saranno secondo te le tendenze musicali nell'inverno 2023 - 24?

Se lo sapessi... Penso però che la buona musica con l'anima funzionerà sempre.

Che consigli daresti a un giovane producer / dj che sogna di vivere di musica?

Fai molta musica, lasciati ispirare dagli altri, impara dagli altri. Perseveranza, pazienza, duro lavoro e dare libero sfogo alle proprie idee.
