I continue to talk about the characters of Detective!AU based on the game DmC: Devil may cry. And it was Dante's turn.

Dante is a 24-year-old guy, the king of underground fights, a master of hand-to-hand combat. He gathered his own gang of thugs called the Nephilim. They take orders for murders, robberies, thefts, in general, everything that may be associated with illegal activities.

Due to his explosive nature and deadly fighting style, Dante earned the nickname "Mad Dog". But he himself does not like being called that, considering it too pretentious.

He is in love with Kat, which Virgil does not approve of. Because of this, they cannot find a common language in any way. It’s true that this doesn’t bother the girl herself. She is trying to reconcile the two guys, but so far to no avail.

•Dante doesn't like cats.

•Loves black tea (though he likes alcohol most of all)

•Smokes even more than Virgil

•He has two personalized pistols, which he does not part with. Ebony and Ivory. They are the most valuable thing a guy has.

I'd like to think he has a great bedroom voice. That shouldn't be surprising given the NSFW casanova life he had. Whatever he's given, headcanon smut to thirst posts, he's gonna read it with that soft, deeper voice then probably bursts out giggling and laughing.

Also if you know some filthyfrank shenanigans he's probably making comedic impressions on how moans sound like on each sentence🤣

so i actually wrote a dmc: devil may cry/reboot thing, despite never playing or looking at the game for 5 minutes. i cant add a cut, cos im on my phone rn. sorry.

Limbo city was a nightmare in the summer.

Mottled with yellow and gray, the humidity caused the air to hang heavy with the oncoming threat of rain, pissing down before withdrawing itself, causing a small break in the scent of the baked trash and stinking shell of the city. No vegetation, save for dead grass and the occasional demonic root, squelching wetly underfoot, making the stench even more heightened in its sulphuric acidity.

It took an inhuman amount of willpower for Dante to not cover his nose.

“Christ,” he muttered. “Gets worse every year.”

A crunch of shattered glass sounded from under his boots, remnant of a long ago looting, from when the two planes of reality crashed together in cacophonous agony, echoing still in his ears like a steady heartbeat, as thick and oppressive as the air hanging heavy in his lungs.

It was worse in the city. Something about the closeness, its intensity, the skittering of vermin that made Dante’s ears prickle and his trigger finger itch. Could it be just a rat? Could it be a demon, baying for his blood? Vergil, fingers bloody from clawing himself out of hell, Yamato sharp and steady and dripping with blood from an unfortunate human-

Dante pushes on. He needs supplies. Seeds, fertilizer if he can find any. Sowing season was a far way off, but Kat needed some for her witch bullshit and he was happy to oblige.

She was working on wards this year, and hard. Something about its complexity, but it took months for her to even get one stable. But when they were, they stung like a bitch and burned like hot coals on Dante’s skin. Well, at least they knew it harmed demons in some way. Turns out, his weird palm leaf allergy (dont ask how he found that out) was in fact not an allergy, and in fact, some sort of reaction to some holy bullshit. Because of course it was.

He stopped, adjusting his pack. He’d found jack for miles now, and while his blessed blood kept him from tiring easily, he was getting bored, mind searching wildly for some sort of distraction, some sort of scenario to pull the stinking reality away from his senses and cool it down, slowly, as if his brain had started to simmer within the sun.

Nothing came.

Every now and then, I’ll watch a Devil May Cry retrospective or entire series recap when I wanna be in that space again without devoting time I don’t have. And while I’ve learned about and seen some really cool behind the scenes stuff and interesting opinions, I’m genuinely surprised that no one has connected the link between DmC Dante and DMC5 Nero.

Like, for all that DmC was a mess of a Devil May Cry game and personally not my cup of tea because of it, (I believe it was YourFavoriteSon that said DmC would’ve been more well received if it wasn’t a Devil May Cry game, and I wholeheartedly agree) we wouldn’t have Nero’s design and certain characterisation choices without it. Even their designs are so similar.

Idk just a little thought I had watching another retrospective video and seeing them draw more connections between DmC and DMC5.

Kat the Barbie brought a long lost Ken doll, a twin doll, into their secret Mojo Dojo Casa House HQ

Corrupt CEO Mundus didn't want them because they were limited edition male dolls that wouldn't make sales and Mundus wants to hit that bottom line and go trillion dollar stonks

They did overthrow Mundus eventually

But with Vergil's new plan for Ken-dom is just not in line with Dante's Kenough-ness so...

we're still waiting for that sequel and to spread the Kenough-ness message, Barbie Kat put it, "You are Dante. No more, no less..."
