Unprepared casters girlies I come to you yet again for arc recommendations. Arc 5 made me actually too sad it got me right in my core. I loved every second of it!! However I would like to expirence something a little more silly goofy.
I have only listened to arcs 11 and 5

The way I’d drop everything to make an actual play with the caveat that everyone in the group is named Bee. I’d allow some variance like we can have a Bumble, a Hornet, Your Wasps and Yellowjackets of the world. All are acceptable, but the prime shit is Bee, Bea etc.
We could call it the Hive Cast or something. And we’d rotate GMs every now and then, and it’d be on the audience to figure out who’s who cuz we’re all bees. It’d probably be shorter arcs so we can rotate players (cuz ideally we want a lot of Bees). Imagine a moment of a GM giving an excellent narration of Urban Horror or something and then followed up by
“Okay Bee I need you to roll 2D6”
Followed by the sounds of unanimous passive agreement and upwards of 8-12 6 sided dice clanking on various tables at the same time only for the GM to go “No No I mean the Bee who plays the werewolf” and then a sea of “oh okay! Sorry Bee” “oopsies” “damn and it was a good roll too”
Its to funny. I’d watch it. I’d make it! Hell my names Bee let me be the first GM!

I don’t ask for clout frequently Tungle.io
But I need this one to breach containment. I need to meet my hive. My black and yellow alcove is in need of social enrichment

once again commending Dndads greatness bc I've been listening since it came out– have only gotten 5/10,000 references– and everyone still continues to make me laugh (and cry and cry laughing)

Transcript under the cut:
Cody: I’m gonna do a full run action over to the nuke by Nivitz here.
Karl: Keep ‘em off us! We’ll do what we can!
Grant: Nivitz is able to quickly point out these frayed wires that have been set precariously close to each other to form connections if it’s moved hastily. And he’s also able to point out the timer to you. Since he’s helping you through that part quickly, I will give you an insight check to see if you think you know how to defuse this.
Cody: Oh boy. I rolled a three.
Grant: I want you to— Cody. Look at me. Through the screen here. You need to role play this like you believe you can defuse this.
Karl: I’ve totally seen this before in a movie.
Grant: Nivitz, roll insight.
Nivitz: [sighing] Oh boy… Karl: I know exactly what I'm doing, it’s the red wire.
Grant: Nivitz, you believe that he can defuse this.
Nivitz: Oh boy. You sure you got this? Karl: According to my… vague knowledge of bad movies. Nivitz: Oh… [chuckles nervously] Karl: But I’m sure it’ll work, right? Because a lot of those movies are based off of real— they’re almost documentaries, inspired by real events.
Pippin: Nivitz is nervously [unintelligible]
Nivitz: If you’re sure, do you want me to help the others? Karl: No, no, I’m probably gonna need you here. Nivitz: Okay…
Pippin: So what can I do?
Grant: You can just effectively cast the Help action, which means that you’re gonna give Cody advantage on his next check.
Austin: Can I call out my knowledge of shitty movies and just tell them, like,
Xalduin: It’s never the green wire!
Austin: And use a Hero Point to give them… more shit?
Nivitz: Is this a bad time to tell people I’m colorblind?
Austin & Grant: No.
[laughing]
Cody: What kind of check is it to defuse this bomb?
Grant: You don’t know this, so don’t metagame, but this is a DC 30 check.
Cody: Oh.
Grant: So, you have advantage on it because of Nivitz. You have an extra d6 because of Xalduin’s Hero Point. And you can use an extra d6 because of your Hero Point. It is going to be a check with your Tinker’s tools, though, so it is also with proficiency. Plus 3d6, so whatever you roll, with advantage, plus 3d6. Why don’t we just get your 3d6 out of the way now, so we know what it’s adding.
Cody: So I get plus 10.
Grant: You get plus 10, and it’s a DC 30. So you need to get a 20 or higher, with advantage.
Cody: Now, can I add this also? It’s an ability check, that’s not really an ability check though, is it? It’s uh… Enhanced Focus…
Grant: No, yeah, you can add that. One hundred percent.
Cody: Oh, okay well then I’ll throw in another d6. Oh my god, great…
Grant: So you need to roll a 19 or higher with your tinker’s tool on one of these rolls. To defuse this bomb.
TJ: And your total has to be 19.
[yelling]
Cody: Advantage, 24.
TJ: What the fuck…
Karl: I told ya, it’s the red wire. What’d I say? It’s not the green one, just like Xalduin said. Of course it’s not the green one. They try that in… Space Abominations Five and that doesn’t work.
Grant: Karl, by complete accident… you get in there, and by the time you start touching things, you realize it’s too late and you don’t know what you’re doing.
Cody: [laughs]
Grant: And you connect two wires and the timer blinks off.
Karl: Whew, guys I’m just gonna be honest with you. There wasn’t even a red wire in there. I got in there and they were all green. [laughs]

I understand why dnd livestreams have Official Character Art that’s immediately displayed upon introduction. because y’know visual interest. But as a podcast girlie there will always be a part of me biting & snarling & crying & throwing up over the fact that they destroy the rainbow menagerie of fan character designs that I’m used to having with Thought Theater Storytelling

If this picture doesn't make you want to listen to the show, I honestly don't know what will

I have very conveniently started listening to podcasts and crocheting for the first time, at the same time. It's been so helpful that I do it during any time consuming media that doesn't require my eyes at all times. And here's a thing I've learned about myself in the process. I am so used to having the audio AND visual, that when something insane is revealed, I will whip my head up at the screen in shock. But cuz nothing is there I just end up staring at my own face reflected back in my sleeping pc screen.

Now that people on Tumblr have in fact seen him, and I have been threatened for using Tumblr Blaze which comes with the territory really. [2023] TOP 20 PODCASTS ON AO3 FOUND IN FANDOMS > OTHER MEDIA
To make this ranking, all series titles in Other Media were copy-pasted to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then manually filtered since not all podcasts were marked as such.
The numbers under each rank indicate how much they rose/fell in the rankings based on last year's (Oct. 24, 2023) rankings, which can be found here. The gray numbers in parenthesis indicate how much fanworks it gained since last year.
The data for this year and last year's rankings were taken while logged in, so lcoked fanworks are included in the count.
A few web series like Critical Role and Dimensions 20 released audio-only versions of their works too, but I left them out since they were listed was a web series on ao3 and more known as one too.
Cabin Pressure has also been left off the list this time since its podcast format was only released in 2019, years after it aired on the radio.
All nonfiction podcasts have also been excluded (Not that there were many), because with RPFs, it’s hard to tell if the fic in question is just based on the podcast or because of the things the person has done outside of it. Last year, I accidentally included The Misfits in the list since I didn't realize from its description that it was nonfiction.
The Two Princes (Podcast) ranks 21st in the rankings this year, and actually ranked 20th last year when the rankings are adjusted to exclude Cabin Pressure and The Misfits.
The College Tapes is actually a spinoff of The Bright Sessions.
Thanks for understanding and hopefully I didn’t mess up anywhere! 🙏

Tyrell: Grandma’s on our ship, right?
Pippin: Yeah, she’s on the Hawke.
Tyrell: We need to give her a message not to allow anybody on.
Cody: So I guess I’m just gonna send out a group text. [laughing] Alright guys—
Austin: Send out a TipTap.
Grant: You see Doctor Kellen just replies “Who’s this?”
[laughing]
Cody: Oh, god no. “It’s Karl”
Grant: And she calls you. She immediately calls you after you message her.
Pippin: Of course, of course she does.
Karl: Heyyy… uh, it’s me. Kellen: Hi, who’s this? Karl: This is Karl… The kid with the green hair, and the eyes… Kellen: Ohh, oh hey honey. How’s it going? Will you bring me some hot chocolate? Karl: Y’know I might be able to do that for you if you do me a favor. There might be some people coming to go on the ship and I just need you to tell ‘em that you can’t let ‘em. Kellen: What? Okay… yeah. Nivitz: Tell her that we might have a patient! Karl: And we might have a patient, who’s done… [irritated] what was it called, Oliver? Wake?! Oliver: [yelling] I don’t know what you’re talking about! Kellen: Oh, god, you ki— Karl… stop giving these kids drugs. Karl: I didn’t give her— Oliver: Yeah, Karl! Quit giving people drugs! Grandma, I tried to tell him! Karl: Grandma… I promise you I didn’t do this.

if you wanna listen to naddpod you should know this about the hosts: brian murphy is a straightman to his inner most core and he's the funniest person alive, these things exist simultaneously and would not exist without the other. emily axford is clinically insane to a point where it's easier to not try to follow her logic when she says things. jake hurwitz is a certified cool guy but he's the biggest loser in a room of nerds playing dungeons and dragons. caldwell tanner can only be described as exactly what a 1930's cartoon describes as a rascal. three of them are a throuple and the fourth is their boss.
