I saw your post that mentioned a Fire Emblem-inspired D&D campaign! So now I’m curious, have you had to do things differently (in regard to the rules or setting) to make it work (e.g., subbing in FE-related spells and weapons instead of D&D ones, changing up or adding new mechanics, etc.)?
Thanks so much for asking!!! Quite a bit as had to change
Fist of there is a lot of home brew in all honesty and there are quite a few spells that me and the player agree not to use in combat such as charm person to help basically balance the game a bit and all the wepons are subbed in from fire emblem a lot of them just mirror that of dnd weapons though.
I scale down quite a few of the battles to make it fit the dnd formula a bit more it’s just me and the player so as a one person campaign it’s my player’s character and normally 3 npc I control insted of the huge army. And for combat most of the free to use maps work well though I do suggest making your own if you want to try as it does make everything a bit better
For classes iv matched a couple of fe classes with dnd ones eg dark mage is just a waralock a rouge is a swordsman/thief and for a lot of enemies re skinning the monster manual is a huge plus and I looked around homebrew sights for some of the harder to categorise ones
Also for initiative I basically do it as the hole army so for the battle of the Egal and lion my player was in the blue lions and so we did a roll for the bl gd and bg then rolled for who goes when in each of the group
We also have what we like to call the beating we’re if you and someone as fighting eachother for a while it goes into a one on one that passes time faster while the army’s fight in the background though I understand this isn’t for everyone we like it as it gives a more emotional or fun experience at times
I think that’s everything it’s really hard to explain sorry as I’m bad with words lol but if you try this is really recommend it as it’s super fun!

New DND artifact Idea, the Magnus Hammer, needs to be attuned too, does 5d8 lightning damage, and then does 4d12 bludgeoning damage when used as an actually hammer. Only a level 9 can use the hammer and must be a true neutral, or any of the goods as well. Spell damage increases after every new level the party member increases. to activate the lighting one must say in a very monotone voice  “Kachow”
So Op's Energon Axe aka the Ultra Axe (according to TF The Allspark Almanac), It becomes a Blood axe. It takes the blood of your enemy, and uses it to power itself up for a narcotic damage attack 12D10 Narcotic damage. can only be used by a necromancer at level 11
Ratchets EMP Generator, can only be used by a healer, and automatically has the sleep spell at level 5, and can be used anytime like a cantrip. Appoint must make a Constitution saving throw at healers con attack, if an enemy fails they fall into a deep sleep, and are prone, and must make another saving throw on its next turn. If the enemy succeeds it still falls asleep but immediately awakes after the next party members turn.

Auesamdude D&D au. TW: Scars, weapons.
Tumblr media
HELLO,
This is now the 13th post of the Dre smp dnd au. Whatever time you are seeing this, I have brought Sam (Skeppy will be out soon). Hope you are enjoying this au, if there is anyone in particular you want me to draw next please tell me via asks. Thx.
Just a lil bit for this character.
Sam, for the non-dnd peoples, is a barbarian For my dnd peoples he is a barbarian tank about lvl 14. Sam is a Elf(if you come at me for not making him a centaur, it would have looked bad, you expect me to be able to draw a horse when I can’t even draw hands?).He has a natural ac of 15 and with his armour on he has an ac of 18.
Sam caries a dagger, 2 scimitars and a hand axe.
Backstory time!
Sam grew up in the city of never winter where he trained to be a street fighter to practice his hand to hand combat (He has a +6 to hit and +5 damage with an unarmed strike). He was also part of a group that was meant to help train people with weapons so that they could protect themselves with the basic knowledge. However Sam took is training and learned the ways of a barbaric.
Sam later traveled to the sword cost where he got into a fight and got half of his face completely messed up which is why he wears a creeper half mask. Also he has green in his hair from a healing  spell that needed to be powerful enough for his face to heal and the green was put into his hair to fix the damage that was done to his skull (like a birthmark in his hair).
I know this one was a lil bit short but hopefully my brain has more creative juices for skeppys one.

Winged Dagger (Weapon Idea)
Here's an item for you DMs that want something that's fun, weird, & a fairly weak compared to other magical items.
Appearance: It looks like a dull copper dagger, with magnificent white wings.
Description: Due to alchemy , celestial meddling, & a couple of harpy feathers a dagger with wings was made.
Abilities:
Works like a regular dagger but has a +3 to hitting enemies when thrown.
It comes back to it's user once thrown.

Dark Warlord: No man can defeat me.
Woman: I am no man.
But with a trans woman who realizes she's trans as she beats the absolute shit out of the Warlord.
Bounuse points if she has a full beard and/or Giant wepon and had/has gender envy for the non-conforming gremlin character.

Fuck. My. Life.
I realized that in order to play dnd, I need way way more things than originality thought. And it’s already passed my birthday and it’s way to soon to ask for more stuff, so I have to undertake a momentous task.
I have never played real dnd. I have never dm-d. I have done some testing with players and not players alike and have found a common theme.
No matter what, the players will start a fight. With or without enemies. So they will fight. And level up. But how does leveling up work? How does fighting work?
The answer to my problems is stats. We need all of the stats. Not just player stats, but monster stats as well. So. I am going to go through, learn of a great(or very possibly small) chunk of the monsters in dnd and make my own handbook. Of expiriance levels, of armor, or wepons, of everything I fucking need.
I will walk them through and change what I need as I go. I already have a small pile of flash cards on my desk for NOT EVEN THE SECOND PORTION OF THE GAME. I have absolutely NO idea how to keep the story going or how to properly structure a dungeon!
But I will be DAMMED if I don’t go head first into the madness to find out. I know my players won’t go into this as intense as I am, but I can only hope they do the barest amount of research into their character’s race and class. They won’t, because I promised pseudo dnd. Not actual dnd. But it’s going to be more like actual dnd with a lot of home brew chucked in where I’ve fallen flat.
I know one of my players has tumblr, and might read this. Sorry my dood. I just needed to rant and procrastinate before I get started. But PLEASE try and look into cantrips and hit dice, it would help me greatly. I’ll still do it with you on the day if need be but I’m tired.
Alright, rant over.

I drew my 3 favorite personal dnd characters with their wepons In case my writing is too atroshish to read, the three characters are Vexen the firbolg fighter, Coroline the elvish (ex)noble artificer, and Hefty the dwelvish rogue. Dispite all three being played by me they are actually very different from each other. I would suggest not leaving them in a room together or else Coroline and Hefty might try tearing eachother to bit. Mabey in the future I'll let people ask these three questions, if you want to right now, go ahead, I'll answer

If i become a math teacher im gonna make my class dnd themed. I will figure out a leveling system and work it and enimies into my class. How many points they get on an assignment or test will give them xp and on Friday whoever leveled up can choose a (fake)wepon to learn some basic form on, a privlege to have in class, the "adventuring" music for the next day, or a prop/ cosmetic portraying to their chosen race and class to wear during class.
There will also be "side quests" (extra credit assignments) they can do for a little extra XP. Thes side quests can range from fetch quests (finding hidden objects around the room and having to answer quetions/riddles to colect them for small xp), monster fights( they have a list of attacks they can use only once to get the monsters health down to 0 before their health goes down to 0 (order of operations practice maybe) small to medium amount of xp depending on dificulty), and of course dungeon exploration( Im not sure how ill do that bit yet but itll have the most XP to gain but the hardest to do since itll have a minimum of easy to medium dificulty fights and 1 boss fight which will be hard to very hard depending on the dungion dificulty.)
You will be able to team up with your friends in parties or go it solo. In parties the XP will be split evenly (rounded up) across all members but it will make the dificulty much easier
There could also be an economy system but im not sure what to do with it. Maybe they could buy candy or snacks ill keep in stock.
Then at the end of the year or semester, they could get knighted if they pass and the entire last day could be a whole fun cerimoney during class where they weir their cosmetics along with some fun knight stuff I bring for the special occasion. Theyll be able to wear their cosmetics any other day of course they just have to remember to return them, its not just a last day only kind of thing.
........
Ive thought about this a little too much..

Starfinder
So, about a month ago now, Paizo released their new hot series of tabletop rpg insanity: Starfinder! It’s based on Pathfinder but they trimmed out some fat to make things easier, and also added some new mechanics like an Armor Class against energy-based attacks and rules to build your own starships and getting them into combat with other ships.
I got a crew to give the game a sweet little test ride using the Starfinder Asociation adventure series “Into the Unknown”. It’s available for free from Paizo’s website and contains 5 short, connected adventures designed to take up to an hour. They are kind of basic, but good enough to get your feet wet with the game.
The crew: To be honest, we didn’t bother too much with backstories and names as I made it perfectly clear that we’d only finish these short adventures with the characters before I make a proper campaign at some point. Anyway, our group intrepid heroes consisted of a Shirren Mystic, a Vesk Soldier, a Human Soldier, a Kasatha Solarian, and an Android Operative. The android is actually the only guy whose name I remember: Chat. His and the kasatha’s players were actually the only guys who set up a proper backstory. Basically the kasatha is a rich kid Twitch streamer and Chat acts both as his bodyguard, as well as a monitor that displays the kasatha’s channel’s chat. Androids in Starfinder actually more or less look like flesh and blood humanoids, but I allowed them to give him an LED screen for a face. Those two were great fun and had a really good dynamic going between them. The shirren and vesk were premades, because their players didn’t really have the time to look through the rules prior to our session because of work and stuff.
Anyway, we only got through the first two parts of Into the Unknown because of time restrictions, but we are planning to finish the rest in two weeks. The first adventure has the group looking for a mysterious person who sold off some some items to a pawnbroker. Those items are important to the Starfinder Society (the in-game one, not the organized store play), so the group gets sent out to pick them up and try to find the seller. The story ends with a basic combat encounter which wasn’t too difficult, but thanks to some “amazing” dice rolls the bad guys didn’t take too much damage while the kasatha streamer took quite a beating.
The second adventure had the gorup go out into space for some starship combat! Exciting stuff because that is the brand new thing of the system. Every member of the team gets a job on the ship: captain, engineer, gunner, pilot or science officer. The combat itself is split into three phases: engineering, helm and gunnery. Each role gets to act on a different phase: the captain can take one action per round in any phase he chooses, usually to buff his crew or debuff the enemy. The engineer acts in the engineering phase and can repair your ship or its shields or boost systems like your wepons to make them more efficient. The pilot acts in the Helm Phase. At the beginning of each Helm Phase the pilots of all ships make a Piloting skill check and the lwoest number has to move first, giving an advantage to the others as they can now maneuvewr to be out of its firing arc while setting up their own shots. The science officer also acts during this phase and can do stuff liek scanning the enemy ship to expose its weapons and shields. Finally, in the gunnery phase the gunners do the shooty. What’s important to note is that technically everysthing happens at the same time, so if your gunner depletes all of the enemy ship’s HP (Hull Points) that ship still gets to shoot at you. Only at the end of the round are the effects resolved.
The encounter in the adventure isn’t designed too well, in my opinion. The group’s ship is up against a slow-moving freighter with only weak weaponry on its sides and nothing to shoot backwards. It has a really strong cannon in front which, ideally, it will never get to fire at you. The ship has no shields, but 100 HP and the ship you get for the adventure has weapons that deal 2d4 and 4d4 points of damage on a hit respectively. In our case the combat ended up taking way too long and being a bit boring. Most of the time people would just do the same actions every round, as the roles don’t have a lot of options for what they can do. And most of the time the enemy freighter didn’t get to do its gunnery phase because the smaller, faster vessel was hiding in its aft firing-arc, where it had no weapons. I think if I had designed this encounter, I would have completely incapacitated the freighter and given it two small fighter jet type ships as defense. Ideally each ship would go down with a couple well-placed hits and the players would have had to put more thought into their maneuvering to avoid getting pincered by the smaller craft.
Other than that it was a whole lot of fun! I was getting a bit burned out on DnD’s high fantasy, so getting to explore some scifi is just the right diversion to keep my pen and paper adventures fresh.

Quackity D&D au.TW: Scars, weapons, abandonment mention, abuse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
 HELLO,
This is now the 12th post of the Dre smp dnd au. Whatever time you are seeing this, I have brought Quackity (Sam is being drawn ). Hope you are enjoying this au, if there is anyone in particular you want me to draw next please tell me via asks. Thx.
Quite a bit for this character.
Quackity, for the non-dnd peoples, a knight and has magic For my dnd peoples he is a Sorcerer and Paladin about lvl 10. Quackity is a changling. He has a natural ac of 13 and with his armour on he has an ac of 16. Quackity caries a dagger & short sword.
Backstory time!
Ok, so, Quackity’s story starts when he was a  fledgling changling and lived near a magical pond in a elemental forest. He spent his teen years leaning how to fight and control magic. Due to where he lived he has strong connections with certain elementals that will help him when he is in need.
He soon grew out of the elemental forest and settled into Water-deep where he met Jschlatt and got engaged to him. Schlatt owned a bar and had some extra room and quackity turned it into a casino where he learned a few tricks of the trade.
He often saw a mismatched family with a silver feather emblem that they all wore, they tended to come to trade or buy groceries. There was always this small goat child with wings and he often saw Schlatt staring at this child. Schlatt told him that he’d left the goat child (tubbo) in a forest, alone.
Quackity soon found that Schlatt was not treating him right and Schlatt in retaliation of Quackity throwing glass at him, managed to hit Quackity in the eye with a large piece of glass. Quackity is now partly blind in his left eye. He canceled the engagement and refused to get rid of his casino, so it stayed there and he still works there with his 2 finances. A thief and a warlock.
