I could write a 30 page essay on how I think dream and george are intentionally manipulating their audience by using the lives of two very real men who were fucked over by being stalked online but no one wants to have thay conversation. one thing that irks me about criticisms about dream is that people try to say he’s like. turning the next generation of young boys into bigots or some shit and idk how it goes completely over people’s heads that DREAM was a young boy who almost got all caught up in alt right shit on the internet. he was literally one of the boys in question 😭 and he’s still only 23 now. and INSTEAD he expanded his world view and then gained an audience of kids from all over and queer stans on twitter, realized he was queer himself, and dedicated his online presence to making people happy. it annoys me when people who hate him will see a queer person of color being a dream fan and get confused/angry over it instead of stopping to consider why they might have chosen to forgive him. and they claim that he “never apologizes” my brother in christ his twitlonger on his bigoted past is the best fucking apology i’ve ever seen from a content creator? not to mention that it’s all so hypocritical when they have no issue with older creators who were attached at the hip to people like pewdiepie lol. even dan and phil were friends with him

to the other anon: i highly recommend scrolling past when you aren’t interested in posts bc social media gatekeeping is not the most effective strategy for avoiding content you don’t wanna see. maybe you could blacklist tags too?? or honestly just blocking me or people whose posts annoy you. i’ve blocked a few blogs that show up in the tags i frequent not because i have anything against them personally but because it’s nice to cultivate what you see and what you’d prefer not to. but above all, nothing quite like having the power to simply,, scroll past things (i can’t say that without sounding snarky and i think i am feeling a little snarky but also i’m so serious it’s very easy and low effort lol)
