If You'll Let Me - Sebastian Sallow x Reader
So this is the first Hogwarts Legacy fic I've done, I hope it's okay... This is what I imagine could have happened after the official ending and the you choose NOT to turn Seb in! Enjoy! Xxx ______________________________
3rd Person pov
The battle was over, and the hero of Hogwarts was suspiciously missing, nobody had seen her, which wasn't uncommon all things considered. But the war was over, what more could she need to do? Granted poaching was still on the rise, Hogsmeade wasn't crime free... Ranrok's loyalists weren't gone, even with Rookwood dead and Harlow in Azkaban, their followers were still causing problems, petty theft at best, kidnap at worst.
(y/n) still had her hands full, but more recently, she'd been disappearing without notice. Ominis was especially confused. He had gotten close to the hero following all of her help with Sebastian, let alone saving the school from being destroyed and defeating Ranrok. They would spend time together, studying for classes and gossiping about the going ons around the school, but recently, she had been galavanting off to some unknown location every Friday evening.
Sebastian still hadn't spoken to (y/n) since he thanked her briefly for not turning him in, he was stubborn, he believed that she could have done more for Anne. All he wanted was for his sister to be the way she was, to join him and Ominis at Hogwarts again... He hadn't really meant to ignore her, but it wasn't entirely unintentional. But now... Now he wanted to speak to her, wanted to apologise properly.
Anne was getting better.
It wasn't something anyone was expecting, the healers and St Mungos couldn't explain what was happening, believing it was simply a miracle, or maybe because Rookwood was dead, as the wizard that cast the curse, perhaps him dying was what reversed it. All Sebastian knew, was that he had been a bad friend, and an even worse person... He didn't want to be that person anymore.
So he decided he would have to find (y/n), there was no way of knowing where she was though, each day he searched he seemed to become more and more blind to the reality of where she was. But he did become much more sighted to the good deeds that she had selfishly performed. Little things. Returning a goblin's mooncalf, finding a child's lost toy, or a fellow student's lost heirloom. (y/n) was constantly placing herself under harm's way, when most people would have turned a blind eye, she didn't, simply because she knew she was capable, sticking up for those who weren't.
Sebastian hadn't understood before, but he did now, he had seen the risk she was putting herself under, the stress it must have caused her, the worry, the loneliness. She hadn't been able to tell many people what she was up to, not without revealing her ancient magic... She had trusted him, and he'd thrown that trust away, without a second glance. Ominis says the feeling he has now is guilt. Of course he felt guilty! What else would he feel for throwing away what he had with such a wonderfully special person!?
Now he was practically kicking himself, questioning every decision he'd made. Granted he knew most of the decisions he'd made recently weren't of the best calibre... But his friendship with (y/n) had been, it was one of the best decisions he had made! But he still couldn't find her.
Sebastian had tracked his way through every nearby poacher den, flooed to the furthest acromantula nest. He had even spent a day in a puffskein den because (y/n) had told him a few months ago how watching them bounce about made her laugh and feel better after a rough day.
Now he was standing in front of the ridiculous tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy trying to teach trolls ballet. He had heard of the Room of Requirement, had read diary entries of those who had supposedly come across it, and now he was trying to get it to reveal itself to him. It was the last room in the entire bloody castle he hadn't checked, it was the only logical place she could be! So he did what the diary entries had told him to, he paced back and forth in front of the tapestry, thinking. Willing it to appear in front of him.
And it did. A beautifully intricate door was willed into his existence. He looked around, nobody was watching, he opened the door and stepped in.
He knew there was nothing (y/n) couldn't do, but this was a lot. There were tables with magical plants and herbs growing, potions stations brewing a ridiculous amount of Wiggenweld and other duelling potions. (y/n) had always been prepared for any of the fights he needed her for, now he knew why. The room was huge, filled to the brim with interesting decorations and paintings, he could see the magical doorways that led to vivariums filled with beasts that she had saved from poachers.
He was so busy staring around the room in awe, he hadn't noticed a small house elf make his presence known. "Mistress (y/n)!" He cheered, "You're back from Feldcroft rather early, how did it all go?" Deek asked, before quickly shutting his mouth, seeing the freckled brunette instead of the Hero of Hogwarts. "Oh, Deek apologises... nobody ever uses this room except mistress (y/n)." He informed the confused teen.
Sebastian shook his head, "Wait, how long has (y/n) been using this room for?" He asked, curious, but also annoyed that she had hidden this from him.
Deek thought to himself before answering, he was usually under strict rules from Headmaster Black to answer all question put to him, honestly. So he did.
"Mistress (y/n) has been using the room almost since she first started the year at Hogwarts... Professor Weasley believed it would help her catch up on schoolwork..." Deek answered truthfully.
Sebastian's eyes flashed with hurt, he couldn't believe that (y/n) had been hiding this from him, from Ominis and Poppy and Natsai and Amit as well, probably. After everything they had done to help her! That's when another thing Deek had told him popped back into his mind.
"Hang on, did you say that she was at Feldcroft?" Sebastian asked slowly, confused. Why on earth would she be there? That's when he was reminded of his original purpose of entering the Room of Requirement, finding (y/n) so he could apologise for all he had done that year.
He said a quick goodbye to a very perplexed Deek, before making his way to the nearest floo station and travelling to his home village.
He searched everywhere he could think of, the duelling dummies, the farm, the ruins of Isadora Morganach. He was tired of looking, it was already so late, if he tried to get back to Hogwarts now he would be caught breaking curfew, so he decided to visit Anne, and stay the night there.
Anne had eventually made up with him, after he showed up crying at his uncle's funeral. As much as Solomon drove him mad, he was family, the last bit of family the twins had, and he had taken that away, so eventually, he had felt remorse.
Sebastian gave a brief knock on the wooden door before pushing it open, it was still his home after all. He went through, not finding Anne in the main room, so believed she was in her room. He once again knocked on the door, not hearing the gasps of both pain and relief.
Opening the door, he saw Anne laying peacefully in her bed, (y/n) sitting next to her, holding her hand. However, their joint hands were etched with thick veins of darkness.
(y/n) was gritting her teeth, presumably to avoid waking Anne from her very rare bout of peaceful slumber, but it was obvious how much pain she was in, much the opposite of how Sebastian was used to seeing the two. "What the hell is going on!?" He shouted, startling (y/n).
She broke the connection, the dark veins leaving her and Anne's arms. Her normally (e/c) eyes shot open, revealing bright, fluorescent red, which quickly faded. Sebastian's eyes darkened. "What were you doing to my sister!? You said that it was too dangerous to take away emotions, you hypocrite! If you could have helped her all this time, then why didn't you!? You've been lying to us all this time (y/n), why!?" He ranted.
She looked up at him calmly, her anger boiling silently under the surface of her skin. "Do you really think, that if I had wanted to help Anne sooner, I wouldn't have?" (y/n) asked calmly. "What would be my motive, just to get under your skin? I had seen what would happen if I tried to take any pain from your sister, I didn't want her to wind up a lifeless husk. And if I'm such a hypocrite Sallow, why would I even bother trying to save your sister now!?" (y/n)'s voice was rising quickly, a sign of just how angry she was.
"And if I'm such a liar, let's see if you can tell if I'm lying now. I've been spending the last few weeks here, taking your sister's pain and keeping it for myself? I just wanted to see you happy Sebastian! I have been researching endlessly, trying to find a way I could use what I have to help you both! Every waking moment since the battle happened, I have been tirelessly practicing, reading, writing, working. Just for you to shove it back in my face!" She shouted.
Sebastian was shocked, standing there blankly. "I-I'm so-"
"Oh you're sorry!? Really? After ignoring me for weeks, you only want to apologise now that you know I've done exactly what you wanted! I helped you find the scriptorium, I let you use the torture curse on me, I helped you find the crypt, helped with the inferi, saved you from Azkaban! What more can I do to prove to you that I care, that I love you!" She shrieked.
Sebastian was now even more shocked, stuttering and blubbering through his words. He was going to say something, the words were on the tip of his tongue, but he knew that whatever he said wouldn't be enough. Enough of an apology, enough of a reciprocation.
Instead he charged over to her, his heart melting when he saw the fiery glare in her eyes. He grabbed her by the shoulders and pulled her into his arms, pressing his lips against hers. Once (y/n) had gotten over her own shock, she melted into his arms, wrapping her own around his waist, relaxing into the kiss.
When Sebastian finally pulled away from the comfortable embrace, he sighed softly, "Nothing." He whispered, (y/n) looking at him in confusion until he finished his thought. "There is nothing else you need to do. Nothing I won't be there for now. I've thought you were one of, if not the most incredible person I have ever had such a pleasure to meet. I promised myself, I wouldn't do anything stupid, never push you away- Don't look at me like that, I know what I did!" He chortled.
"But I want to make up for it, if you'll let me?"

Cw death / grief/loss mental health things but tldr all im grateful for all the little people inside my computer/phone
Today is the anniversary of my father’s death. It gives me many complicated feelings that I won’t get into but can be summed up as I hate him but there’s some kind of biologically informed attachment. My mom is also dead. I wanted to write she’s gone but that implies she could come back. I don’t know why but I feel the need to sugar coat the fact that my parents are dead to make the information more palatable for others. I find myself saying things like it’s ok, no don’t apologize.
I end up consoling people after they ask about my family and what I’m doing for the holidays and I inevitably tell them this. In general it’s my instinct to minimize every emotion I have even though I have huge feelings about everything. I also have a lot of empathy. (The stereotype that ASD/nd ppl don’t have empathy is very much BS) So much that it makes it hard for me to not want to console or in some way help every single person I care about if they’re in pain in any way. Like I mean anyone. Online mutuals to irl friends.
So many people have a hard time with the holidays. So many people have a hard time with winter. So many people are just having a hard time. I don’t blame anyone for the way I process these things but between my regular mental health issues, the additional pain that the holidays bring, the dead parents thing, and the collective mental health of everyone around me crumbling, it feels real heavy.
Normally I just disappear. I also dont talk about how I feel. I feel guilty for saying I feel sad. I feel like a burden for expressing any negative emotions. It all inevitably comes spewing out when I feel safe enough with one person to do it. Even then I try to soften the blow of my own trauma.
This is more like a diary entry than a post I want or expect people to read. And it’s because I am sort of saying this into the void of the internet rather than a person so it isn’t attached to the inherent guilt I feel for basically being who I am. I guess I just wanted to vent, but also to say that it doesn’t matter how small it is, every little comment or conversation I have here means something to me. I don’t have a lot of irl friends. (I mean I have like two) one who I got into an argument with when I told them my name and pronouns of choice and it was ugly)) anyways…
I just appreciate all of you. And maybe I should have put that above the cut because everything under it is probably either very triggering or very depressing to read. So sorry if you did venture under here and that happened.
A disclaimer of sorts. I know very well that people see posts like this as attention seeking, validation seeking, whatever. First of all, that’s kind of the opposite of what I want. hence why I don’t express any of these things to anyone irl. I really don’t like having anyone’s focus on me. I don’t want to be perceived most of the time.
But Also, what’s wrong with needing those things? I’m tired of seeing people being shamed because they need care, support, reassurance, love. And shamed for it online. Maybe they can’t find it in real life. Trashing someone for that is really the most despicable thing.
I know this is all very disjointed but whatever if you read all this you deserve a cookie.

Sk8 headcannons because brainrot pt. 2
- everything Reki has ever taught himself has been because of the wonderful world of YouTube tutorials
- Kojiro wanted to get his ears pierced in highschool like Kaoru, but he didn't do it because he was afraid of tarnishing his image (which is ironic when he gets a massive tattoo later in life)
- Langa doesn't like cats because he thinks they're mean
- there’s a stray cat that lives near Langa’s house and even though he doesn’t like cats, he leaves out milk and some fish for it sometimes because he feels bad
- Langa has never had a pet except a goldfish he won at a carnival once that he managed to keep alive for four years somehow.
- Kaoru technically needed glasses in high school, but he didn't wear them because he just didn't care at the time (until his vision grew poor enough that it affected his skating)
- Miya gets called a furry by Reki on the daily
- Reki has some knowledge in video editing and has considered starting a YouTube channel
- Langa has a diary, something he started after his father died. At first he didn't really know what to write, so he would just talk about his day, but eventually he got to the emotions part. The diary was especially useful during his fight with Reki in which he was trying to figure out his emotions (it was also useful when he realized he might have an itty bitty crush on his best friend)
- Joe is the biggest dad friend of the group in terms of doting on the kids and giving advice and stuff. Both Reki and Langa come to him often for advice, and Miya hangs around his restaurant a lot.
- Langa has one (1) succulent that he has managed to keep alive for three years. Its name is Gary, and it may not be the prettiest, but it is not dead yet!
- Reki never tells his mother when Langa is coming over and she's trained herself to just expect a lanky Canadian to be wandering around her house at any time.
- It took Kojiro a really long time to figure out his sexuality (and that's valid!!)
- Hiromi has been hopelessly in love with his manager for three years and has tried on multiple occasions to confess to her, but either something interrupts them or there's some sort of misunderstanding about it. Those are his more violent nights at "S".
- After befriending Reki, Langa and Miya, Hiromi is a little more careful about his tools of sabotage during beefs (and he lowkey feels guilty for injuring Reki in the beginning)
- Kaoru and Reki are actually closer than one might think. Reki ends up asking him for advice just as much as he asks Kojiro.
- Reki can't do something mundane without his ears being occupied. He ends up listening to music or podcasts a lot when he does chores or is working on a board alone (but if Langa is there with him, he'll talk his ear off instead).
- Miya's family isn't particularly bad, they're just a little distant. They assume everything is okay because Miya's so successful with school and skating, and they trust his integrity (which makes it very easy for him to sneak out to "S"). He doesn't really talk to them (or anyone, really) about his struggles.
- When Miya and Koyomi meet, he shows her all his video games and suddenly Reki's little sister is a gamer girl
- Langa almost wore a long-sleeved top to the beach and Reki had to go make him change before they left ("you'll melt in that, are you crazy?!")
- Kojiro knew damn well that Kaoru had a business trip and that the gang was going to the beach, but all other parties were unaware. He just decided to tag along as to not be left out.
- Kaoru trims his own hair, as he finds salons to be ridiculously overpriced for those with long hair
- Reki dogsits for his next door neighbor sometimes, they have a shiba named Onigiri (rice ball).
- Kojiro’s pennant was a gift from Kaoru and he wears it literally all the time except in water (so it doesn’t get ruined)
- Reki’s father is pretty absent, so Oka takes it upon himself to look after him
- Langa occasionally picks up odd jobs in order to help his mom out with finances
- Langa’s favorite animal is dolphins. He had a phase as a child where he read like fifty dolphin books and it was his entire personality for a few months. Despite this, he has never actually seen a dolphin irl
- Reki takes really good care of his nails and Langa… does not. He bites them and it annoys the shit out of Reki to the point where he’s just like “please… just let me file them for you” and Langa relents despite the fact that he hates the sensation of getting his nails filed
- Reki sometimes talks to Langa about getting depressed and one time Langa is like “yeah I getchu” and Reki is just like “heh?” And Langa says “I mean my dad died and I was in counseling for like months after that before I came here” and Reki is just like “oh”
- Langa is Reki’s bi awakening and it takes him a hot second to figure that out
- sometimes Langa pretends to be more oblivious than he is, either for shits and giggles, or to obtain information
- Kaoru knows exactly how to seduce women, and occasionally uses this to his advantage. It just sucks because he’s not into women.
- Reki is super observant, but whenever Langa does something that’s an indication that he likes Reki, he’s just like “WELL MAYBE IM OVERANALYZING THIS CANT BE REAL-”
- Langa (in general) doesn’t feel the need to be super secretive about anything. He’s honest (sometimes brutally so) and doesn’t always think twice before he says something. This can be both good and bad depending on the context.
- Reki doesn’t sleep a lot. He literally has to go to bed past midnight, he absolutely cannot fall asleep earlier. He gets up at 6:30am every day of the week, even weekends. It’s just how he’s programmed.
- Kojiro used to go to the public gym before Kaoru commented about how unsanitary that was. Ever since then he got freaked out about going to public gyms (especially as someone who works in food services) and cancelled his membership. He bought his own equipment and works out on his own now
- Reki knows how to do rainbow loom. His sisters had a phase with it.
- Kojiro drew on himself with pen when he was bored in school.
- Miya has a habit of eavesdropping on conversations he’s not meant to hear

Mahiru (MILGRAM) and why I voted her guilty
Okay so I know that Mahiru’s trial time has almost ended but I wanted to share my thoughts on her and her crime. English is not my mother tongue so I may make mistakes, sorry in advance.
At first I thought the same as a lot of people, that her and his boyfriend had problems, she pressured him too much and he killed himself... BUT then I satrted to think, and to find her MV a little suspicious.... what if they weren’t even dating?
Ok hear me out.  I’m not saying they didn’t know each other. But I don’t trust Mahiru’s POV. Yes, the PV can’t lie because it’s extracted from their minds but that only means that we are seeing what Mahiru truly thinks and how she viewed the crime. What she thinks happened and what happened could not be exactly the same.
Now I’m going to analyze the PV to support my theory. Obviously I can’t know if it’s true, I can’t only speculate since we don’t really know the truth, but I’m going to explain the things that made me reach this conclusion. Some parts I would mark them as pure speculation based in if my theory is true. The translation of the diary is a translation posted in the youtube video comments by 猫黒.
Tumblr media
So Mahiru’s story is a 16 day story (the number of entries in her diary that appear in the PV). The first two days Mahiru and the man who is supossed to be her boyfriend don’t even know each other, so we are talking about a 14 days relationship/12 days if we take into account the first day they TALKED for the first time. It’s... quite short.
Day 3 is the first time they even exchange a GLANCE and we don’t even know if the “boyfriend” noticed her lol they locked eyes for a moment but it’s not something so unusual. Mahiru felt it was fate, sure, but we don’t have the boy’s point of view.
Tumblr media
It’s not until day 5 they really interact. Day 4 is Mahiru seeing him but she doesn’t even talk with him and he doesn’t approach her either so... he probably didn’t even notice her/didn’t know her. Day 5 she finally is able to talk with him.
Tumblr media
Day 8 Mahiru decides to confess waiting for him outside his work. This is... weird. I mean, they don’t even know each other that much but she is already waiting outside his work? To me this seems like she stalked him since she couldn’t get a hold of him by normal means. The most normal interaction if they were already friends would be to call him or something to hang out, this feels more like Mahiru trying to ensure he can’t avoid her since she knows he has to go to work and go home at some point, it doesn’t seem like he is expecting her to be there and for that reason she is early, to make sure he doen’t go home without encountering her. She even call it an ambush.
Tumblr media
Then she calls it a date but based on what I said above I don’t really think it was, although for Mahiru it was because her mind works like that so it’s not a lie for her. I thinks it’s the same as in day 3, for her it was “destiny” but we don’t have the boy’s point of view. Also a very suspicious thing: she doesn’t tell you the boy accepted the confession. We suposse he must have because from that moment Mahiru is convinced they are dating and tells you that but I don’t think Mahiru is a reliable narrator and if they are really going out, why refuse to say “he said yes”? She just says “Not gonna say. But can’t you tell from my face?”. She avoids telling crearly what was the answer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it’s not only that. The diary entries start to become messier, the lines more broken and the text harder to read around day 8, the confession, until they resemble an anonymous threat letter lol. Why would it get darker when supossedly the guy told her yes? My theory is that things didn’t go as well as Mahiru makes it seem in day8. Maybe in her head she is still convinced that things are going to work out in the end but deep down she knows things are not that good and so the diary becomes more of a mess reflecting that.
Tumblr media
Day 10, she seems to thinks they are going out and every time they meet she calls it a date, but I find interesting that she says he doesn’t seems to notice her appearence. You could say he is just that sort of guy but come on, they are at the start of the relationship and he doesn’t seem to look at her or tell her she is pretty? Seems to me like he isn’t even interested in her romantically speaking and probably doesn’t even think they are in a relationship lol
Tumblr media
Okay in day 11 they go to the same place. Maybe they really went together (which doesn’t mean he thinks about it like a date, he could thinks about her like a friend or a nice girl without wanting to be in a romantic relationship with her) or maybe, since she already said it’s a place from a movie he really liked they could have meet there by pure chance. I can’t really say without more info.
Tumblr media
Day 12, and this is the exact moment where I started to find everthing super suspicious. First Mahiru is totally in love with the guy, she talks constantly about him in the diary, she interprets everything he does or likes as fate or something good blablabla.... then why doesn’t she say more about that day? She has been in her boyfriend’s house for the first time and she says she hardly remembers anything? Are you kidding me? She can’t tell anything about the date? They hang out at his house and she can’t even say something like “wow, he finally made a move, I’m so happy” “wow we talked a lot and I had a lot of fun” “we watched films” “I’m a little sad because he didn’t try anything”..... How can she not have anything to say about such a step in their relationship when she usually talks about the smallest interaction they have? It’s super suspicious. And the weird things don’t end there.
Tumblr media
The picture of day 12 shows her in his house but don’t you thinks it’s a little weird? Because the boyfriend is not seen anywhere at all. They even put a mirror in there to show you that he isn’t there. Why put that mirror there if not to show us that yes, he is not there welcoming her, we aren’t seeing him and it’s not because he is in front of her because then he would be reflected in there. And then you start to wonder... And realize all the dates and stuff Mahiru talks about where the boyfriend should be... he is just not there. It’s always Mahiru alone with the exception of one day we would talk later. And it’s not because the photos can only show Mahiru because we’ve seen the hands of the person who sells her coffe in day 2, the dog in day 8 and the hairdresser in day 10 that is even shown in the mirror too. Why is the only person who is not shown in the photos the boyfriend? Because he wasn’t even hanging out with her, she probably stalked him and thought about it like a date.
Tumblr media
Day 14 is the only one where we supossedly see the boyfriend, and in case it really is him it only makes it weirder for him not be in all the other photos. Mahiru is always talking about they going out on dates but she is always shown alone.
Tumblr media
Also she says she “really asked him to come along”. Why do you have to really insist if he is supossed to be your boyfriend who loves movies? Maybe because he doesn’t even know you that well and you are not going out...
Tumblr media
Day 15 they go to the shrine to pray for the new year. Again he is not shown in the photo, and considering that is quite common to go to pray at the shrine in new year I think (again) that although they may have seen each other there for real it was not a date although Mahiru probably thinks that it was fate and therefore a date of sorts.
Mahiru’s wish is also weird. Why woul anyone get in their way or why is she thinking they are no going to be together? They supossedly just started going out, why is she so paranoic with him leaving? Maybe because they are not really going out and she fears he is going to get taken by other person since he is technically single.
Tumblr media
Day 16, the day before the crime, the last entry we have before the scene where Mahiru wakes up with an horrified look in her face. She says she is in his house waiting with the food ready. Ok lovely but... think about it. First, if it’s a surprise it means he doesn’t know she is in his house so how has she entered? Did he gave her his house keys? That’s a little weird since they aren’t going out for that long, Mahiru dind’t even mention him giving her the keys (nor has she mentioned him doing nothing a boyfriend would do like kissing her or telling her he loves her) so they don’t seem so close yet. She says she has jotted down everything he likes, which makes me think that he hasn’t told her, she has deduced it by... basically oberving him which depending on how has she done it could be stalking.
Okay now think about it. You are a boy who meets Mahiru. She seems nice, sure, but you aren’t really interested in going out with her. Then one day she is outside your work waiting for you, confesses and you tell her no so you thinks everything is okay. She keeps talking to you so you think “well nothing wrong with that I guess”. One day you return home and she is there. You don’t know how she has entered. She is just there, smiling as if nothing is wrong, with dinner ready. That would scare me to death.
And the next thing we know is that he is dead.
I think he freaked out, told her she was creeping him out and that he didn’t want her to keep stalking him, that he dind’t love her... and she snapped.
If we listen to the song she is shown as someone who doesn’t really care about his boyfriend’s thoughts. She thinks his distressed face is cute instead of worrying for why is he making that face in the first place, she calls him knowing she would wake him up, she talks about a “breakup ritual” like it’s something normal when it isn’t and even if they were going out if they are constantly breaking up she should be thinking about which are the reason because that is going to end up being a toxic relationship but she doesn’t seem worried at all... In one line she says  "wonder if you’ll get angry soon" and in other she says  "I’m going to start relying on you if you’re kind to me, so please forgive me, thanks!". That sounds like he stayed friends with her (why wouldn’t he at the start if she haven’t done anything bad to him) and she interpreted as permission to start fantasizing about being more with him and start stalking him. The lyrics make her seem emotionally manipulative “ If you don’t hug me, even our hearts will start drifting apart”, “ Giving you love to the point of pulling you down”,  “ We fought sometimes/I was happy to get hurt/Let’s have matching pain, this sickness is pretty bad/This is a claim of responsibility/From the two of us with matching love”.
I think some of the lyrics fit quite well my theory of them not being in a real relationship “Wanting to know everything about you, but wanting to die because it can’t come true”.
And lastly don’t forget the interrogations we have seen up until know. They ask Mahiru what she would do to atone for her sin and she says she doesn’t even know if  her actions were a bad thing. She also said to Es that if they are not careful she might fall in love and kill him too. When asked what does she want from her lover she says that she only wants for him to accept her love (meaning his previous “boyfriend” who I think wasn’t in reality her boyfriend did not accept her love, making me believe more in my theory). She is also shown to be quite self centered and selfish, always talking about what she wants without caring about what her partner might feel (when asked what is worse than death she replied not being able to love... girl you killed the guy, I think he has it worse and all you are thinking is like “oh, how bad I killed him because I can’t keep on forcing my love on him”)
To sum up, this are the reasons why I voted Mahiru guilty and I seriously think she was not in a relationship with the guy or at least she has distorted the reality in her mind.

Crowbar (Alternate First Meeting)
Hi guys! This here short story is my first participation in Adrigami Week! I was planning on posting it yesterday, seeing as it’s following the “Alternate First Meeting” prompt, but the time got away from me. Idk if it’s still eligible for the official reblog or not, but I still had a blast writing it all the same. Enjoy! (Contains very mild profanity)

Her lip was bleeding. For whatever reason, Kagami chose to focus on this minute aspect out of all the other injuries she’d sustained. She dabbed it with a paper towel.
Kagami couldn’t recall how shed gotten like this. There was so much she couldn’t recall, and the staggering immensity of all her forgotten experiences had weighed down on her for so long that when she found herself in a bathroom without a clue as to how she’d gotten there, she was able to handle the newfound situation better than someone who hadn’t been through what she had.
The only thing that confused Kagami was that her clothes were in perfect condition, despite her face being bloody and streaked with dirt. In fact, they looked as though they’d just been sewn by a master tailor.
She brushed the puzzlement aside - she couldn’t linger here in this mysterious bathroom. Lingering got you killed.
The door opened easily at her touch, and Kagami examined the bedroom that it led into. The walls were painted in an eye-catching shade of purple, but the bed itself was small and plain. Kagami also noticed that there was no furniture other than a small nightstand and that the window was broken. It framed the outside world in jagged glass.
This aforementioned outside world was cloudy and bleak. Based on how damp the street appeared, Kagami concluded it must’ve rained recently. The buildings matched the clouds in their shade of gray, with windows just as broken as the one Kagami was using as an observation point. No street signs were visible. No vehicles, no animals, no people. Not even wind.
Kagami couldn’t care less about the lack of other individuals; her attention was pinpointed on the crowbar leaning casually against the building opposite. Without a second’s hesitation, she kicked away the rest of the glass and crawled expertly out of the window.
She didn’t know how she knew there’d be a fire escape, but resolved not to ponder on it, because every second she didn’t have the crowbar was a second where it could fall into the possession of someone else. Crowbars were tools; tools were extremely helpful.
By the time Kagami had raced down the stairs leading to the ground, she could notice how old and rusty the crowbar was. In retrospect, it probably wouldn’t be much use against some of the more contemporary weapons others owned, but in times like these, Kagami would take anything she could get.
In no time, she had dashed across the street and grasped the crowbar in her right hand. Flakes of deceased metal fell to the ground like rotten snow as she twirled it experimentally. Even if it fell apart in combat, it was nevertheless pretty maneuverable.
“Drop it.”
Kagami turned around instead, searching for the voice’s master. She found the man in question stepping out the adjacent alleyway. His face was hidden under an old halloween mask, but Kagami could see he was wearing a green rain jacket and pointing a pistol in her direction.
Was it a pistol? Further examination led Kagami to realize it was no such thing; it was a water gun, and she almost pitied the hopeless idiot who brandished it at her.
“I said drop it!” the man shouted, though not very loudly.
“You know that’s not a real gun, right?” Kagami asked nonchalantly, deciding to break the truth to him.
The man lowered the toy firearm and hung his head. “Damn it.”
“Wait, you already knew?” said Kagami in disbelief. “Why on Earth would you use a water gun instead of, I don’t know, an actual one?”
“I’m a pacifist,” admitted the man, sounding guilty. “I’m a believer of nonviolence.”
“I don’t know if you’ve heard, but nonviolence fell out of fashion a while back,” said Kagami, not knowing where she’d heard it from.
“Well, I always favored the old styles over the new,” the man said. “You hungry? I’ve got some food.”
Kagami’s mouth fell open in spite of herself. Who did this airhead think he was? You didn’t just go around offering people food. But before she’d even responded, he started walking over to her, removing his mask in the process.
Based off his recent actions, Kagami was expecting him to look innocent and tame, and she was not disappointed. However, she hadn’t foreseen blond hair and green eyes. She hadn’t expected him to look this... well, attractive.
“I’m Adrien, by the way,” he said, plopping his butt on the pavement and taking off his previously concealed backpack. “What’s your name?”
“I’m not about to tell you my name!” Kagami cried exasperatedly. “I know nothing about you!”
Adrien, who’d previously been busy unpacking, looked up at Kagami closely for the first time. His eyes widened after locking with hers and he dropped the box of Ritz crackers he’d been taking out.
After a few uncomfortable seconds, Kagami demanded, “What?”
Adrien flinched violently and faced the ground, blushing. “Nothing.”
“Why were you staring at me for so long?” persisted Kagami.
“N-No reason!” Adrien stammered embarrassedly.
“Then why were you doing it?”
“I don’t know!”
Kagami decided not to push the topic and begrudgingly sat down; she hadn’t realized how hungry she was until now.
“So...” began Adrien slowly, seeming to regain some of his previous placidity. “I never did learn your name.”
“We’re not there yet,” Kagami grumbled, snatching a plastic-wrapped sandwich out of his hands.
“Well, what are you doing ‘round these parts?” Adrien asked curiously, putting his chin in his hands.
“None of your business,” snapped Kagami, losing some of her intimidation skills to a mouthful of grilled cheese.
“How’s the food?”
“Awful,” Kagami replied, even though it was delicious.
Adrien laughed hard. “You’re funny!”
“No, I’m not.”
“Oh, but you are!”
“What’s your problem?” asked Kagami sternly. “You know nothing about me, I could’ve killed you without hesitation as soon as you came over here!”
“And yet you didn’t!” Adrien pointed out cheerfully.
Kagami took a deep breath, trying to keep her temper in check. “Adrien, wasn’t it?”
Adrien nodded and smiled, seeming delighted that she’d remembered his name.
“Adrien, I don’t know what miracle allowed you to survive for this long, but in our society’s current state, you might not be around much longer. I suggest you drop this puppy dog attitude and learn to fend for yourself.”
“Why learn to fend for myself when we can fend for each other?” asked Adrien earnestly.
The sincereness of this question, contrasting with the playfulness Adrien had exhibited, caught Kagami off guard for a moment, though she soon regained her bearings.
“Adrien, no offense, but you’d be dead weight,” she stated. “Even if I wanted to stick around with you, my memory kinda wipes itself clean every six hours or so, only holding on to the most treasured information - my name, my personality, how to speak, how to read and write, knowing what stuff is, and the like.”
“No way!” exclaimed Adrien, before Kagami could continue. “I have the same thing! That’s why I started a diary!”
He zipped open his backpack again and retrieved a worn leather-bound book. Adrien opened it and showed Kagami its messily written contents.
“I originally didn’t remember how to write,” he explained, flipping through some pages to get to the beginning, “but I was able to relearn! It took like a year, though.”
Kagami peered at the even messier scrawl of a younger Adrien. She was shocked to see his name spelled incorrectly with crayon.
“How long’ve you been on your own?” she asked uncertainly.
“About twenty years, I think,” Adrien answered dismissively. “I can’t know for certain, I didn’t relearn how to understand a calendar until someone took me in when I was... fourteen, maybe?”
“Someone took you in?” inquired Kagami.
Suddenly, Adrien’s face began filled with sorrow and loneliness. “Yeah... yeah, I don’t like thinking about that.”
Noticing how sympathetically Kagami was gazing at him, Adrien quickly plastered his old smile back on. “That doesn’t really matter. Now I’ve got you!”
Kagami hesitated. One of the instincts her memory’d held onto was avoiding people, but Adrien seemed different. He in the same situation she was in, and he’d shown her kindness. Besides, it’d be nice to have a companion, and Adrien’s diary probably contained scores of valuable information to help the duo survive.
Even if not for all those reasons, there was something else, though Kagami wasn’t sure what it was yet. For whatever reason, Adrien made her feel relaxed, happy even. She didn’t know why, but he did.
“Okay, Adrien,” she said resignedly. “You can stick with me.”
Adrien’s face lit up with gratitude, and before she knew it, Kagami found herself buried in a hug. It was warm and comforting.
“Thank you so much!” Adrien said happily.
“No problem, Adrien,” sighed Kagami, already having her doubts.
Adrien released her and scooped up his backpack. They both stood up.
“Where are we headed?” he asked.
“West,” responded Kagami mechanically. “It won’t make too much of a difference, but we need all the sunlight we can get.”
The two started to walk. After trekking for about a minute, Adrien spoke again.
“You never did tell me what your name is.”
Kagami smiled softly and rolled her eyes. “It’s Kagami.”
“Kagami,” repeated Adrien thoughtfully. “I like that name.”

More Weasley Squad vs the wizarding world
After my “how the Weasley siblings at Hogwarts could’ve reacted to CoS” post, I got to thinking on how that would affect the canon immediately post-CoS....
And then I received a wonderful response on that post inquiring if there was more. Thank you so much for your kind comment @transparentfreakpursepanda and this one’s for you.
In my opinion, the drivers of the big changes would be the twins. In their new protector-role I think they’d keep the map with them and have a close eye on it. They’d also inform Ron, Ginny, and Harry (and through them Hermione) of a) the map, b) whatever they know of Sirius Black, and c) of the most useful hidden passages in the castle.
But even more interesting is when and how they’d inform the younger kids. Maybe once they are all at Hogwarts, because that is when it starts becoming relevant. Maybe they check the map thoroughly for potential eaves-droppers before joining the newly established quartet in the remote classroom. Maybe they spot “Peter Pettigrew” among the cluster of names and decide to hide the map for a while longer after all. Not seeing a person whose name shows up on the map is.... disconcerting to say the least. They dislike invisible potential threats and bodyless things with names after the Diary.
Instead they show the others some hidden passages. Every once in a while, either draws attention and the other checks the map. Peter Pettigrew stubbornly stays with them.
Percy researches Sirius Black with more ferocity than even his essays and keeps the twins and the quartet, albeit a little muted, informed of his findings. The twins get one of the Prophet editions detailing Black’s crimes to get a feel for his MO and find Peter Pettigrew listed as the magical person Black allegedly murdered.
They panic a little. Alright, they panic a lot.
And then they show the map to Percy. More specifically, they show “Peter Pettigrew” next to “Ron Weasley”, “Hermione Granger” and “Harry Potter” in the middle of the Gryffindor common room. In their frenzy they miss the tag reading “Sirius Black” near Hagrid’s Hut.
Percy gets George banned from the library for two weeks by blaming his impressive flood of cursing on him. Fred and George learn three new terms they absolutely are going to use. And then Percy doubles down on Peter Pettigrew as well as Sirius Black.
The Halloween Break-In happens. They scour the Map for any trace of Sirius Black, but he has long since disappeared, and when they check again the next morning so has the tag “Peter Pettigrew” and Ron is mourning Scabbers. That sparks a horrible idea. They know about animagi, having been taught by one for years. And the Professor shows up on the map no matter her current shape, they had tested that extensively back in first year.
So they gather Percy and Ron and Harry and Hermione and Ginny and after checking if Peter Pettigrew is REALLY not with them, they share both the map and their theory on Scabbers.
Percy shows the record of students graduating in 1978 he found deep in the Deputy Mistress’ archives, including the names of both Black and Pettigrew, but also Potter, Evans, Snape, and Lupin.
Harry pipes up that apparently Black and Pettigrew both were close to his father and so was the Professor. (”which one?” - “Snape obviously. Seriously George”) So if he asks about his parents, maybe he could find out more about Pettigrew, including if he was an animagus.
Percy and Hermione compare notes on what they know of animagi-related spells. Eventually they decide Hermione should ask Professor McGonagall about them, in relation to the werewolf-lecture they received from Snape Ron jumps into the planning. By comparing ways and methods of transformation Hermione has a reason to be curious and turn to McGonagall in particular. And approximately 73 tangents to go off on after she got her answers to hide the particular interest in forcing animagi to detransform.
Said and done. Two days later Hermione has a list of books on animagus spells and with Percy’s access, the bookworms dig up both a reversal spell and a general checking charm if an animal is an animagus.
By late November, the eldest three assume they have the spell down, it’s a bit hard to test without an animagus at hand and McGonagall is NOT to be included, and the younger students have checked every pet in Gryffindor tower and the owlery for animagusery. The transformation was judged to be a bit too advanced for them after all, they do want to have Pettigrew identifiable. They also all know Stupor and the countercharm.
In early December, Hagrid invites the trio down for tea and during that conversation they find Scabbers. Ron is good with voices and he forces himself to sound “appropriately” happy instead of showing his distress.
As soon as they are out of sight of Hagrid’s Hut, the rat is stunned, knocked out, petrificus totalused and checked for animagus within seconds. The light glow settles into the fur and for just a moment human features are visible-it is an animagus.
They bolt to the remote classroom that became their main base and are met by Fred and George, who had seen Peter Pettigrew show up on the Map again with the trio and gathered Percy and Ginny.
That is the moment they realize they have no plan for AFTER capturing Pettigrew. They stunned him, so he knows they are aware of some parts. Just going back to normal is not an option. Is he guilty of any crimes? How would a bunch of teenagers go about following that up? How would they explain how they knew something was up?? They had an adult, supposedly dead wizard stunned in their hands!!!
Fred and George look at each other, shrug, and suggest making sure nobody knows they were involved. Considering Harry stunned Pettigrew from behind even he might not know if all of them were attacked or if it was just him. After all, Black might have been after Pettigrew as well, considering he tried to kill him. So just leave him somewhere he will be recognized and let the adults deal with the mess?
So they check the map and find most professors in the Great Hall at dinner. Including Lupin. Who always returns to his office to grade after dinner. And offers students to come ask questions then.
So they break into the Defense Office and detransform Pettigrew on the desk, just as Ginny warns that Professor Lupin is leaving the Great Hall at speed. Five minutes if he sticks to the corridors, two if he knows the secret passages.
They don’t take chances and fire of another stunner before pulling the door closed and hurtling towards a passage that’ll take them to a lower floor and safely out of the path of Professor Lupin WHO REALLY KNOWS THE PASSAGES SWEET MERLIN HERMIONE GET IN GET IN AND CLOSE THE TAPESTRY.
Not a moment after they are hidden from sight, they hear first footsteps and then an unholy shout. They bustle through the passage and then double back towards the Hall, just to nearly fall over the railings of the Grand Staircase when Professors Dumbledore and McGonagall come sprinting up the stairs, the entire structure snapping to attention and creating an immediate path for the Headmaster and Deputy.
They grab some easily transported foods from the tables and rejoin the curious stream of students towards Defense.
An hour later Aurors Bones, Moody, and Shaklebolt are seen in Hogwarts.
The next day sees rumours of somebody returning from the dead and the Minister of Magic nearly defacing his bowler in the corridor leading to Charms.
A week later Sirius Black’s name is cleared.
Oh right, he was around too. The seven had completely forgotten the mass murderer. Correction, alleged mass murderer.

Did Bobo really create the Wayward Sisters? If so, why weren't Jack and especially Cas included in that episode? That's my biggest issue with that pilot honestly, I mean, the fact that the show abandoned Claire and Cas' bond after season 10 and gave that storyline to Salmondean. Her bond with Cas is more interesting because of their connection to the Novaks. I also think that Claire and Jack would've made a more engaging dynamic and spin off together, I think they're strong characters & actors
Hi there!
Bobo isn’t the “creator” of Wayward so much as it can even have one, as it was a very organic idea, which even involved a healthy amount of fandom input. The original campaign in season 10 was for Wayward Daughters, and the idea picked up so much steam the altered title for, I guess, a mix of copyright and thematic relevance was the Sisters one. I’d say 10x08 was the real genesis of it as something that could be really solid. Once Kim and Briana were put together the chemistry and star power they could have had together was really meteoric as far as our small SPN world was concerned. Phil Sgriccia directed 9x13 and wrote 10x08 and was more of the parent of Wayward than any specific writer in that sense. Jody and Claire were pretty much common property of the show by that point. Claire was really introduced again in relation to plotlines and questions about Cas and less to do with them really going out of their way to re-launch her. I think they’d have been much cornier about it from the start and while YA protagonist diary writing her way through the end of Wayward Sisters was cute, it’s the sort of cutesy that really has to be earned. If she STARTED that way, like maybe me and 3 friends would be stanning her and everyone else would be revolted :P
(I am a YA fantasy novel author, but I do think everyone should make room in their hearts for this level of cheese)
In any case, Bobo just threw his hat into an already crowded ring with Alex, but obviously loving the characters and having his own personal wayward child to contribute did help elevate him to the prospective showrunner seat, but also all the other writers who’d written these characters except Dabb had left at that point. If Bobo was going to shepherd them through to their new show, he’d be the legacy writer, even though he was a new baby writer in the season Donna was introduced... Attrition aside, he did genuinely write them very well, loved their stories and was great with writing Jody when he could get her, so he would also have been a good choice even if all the others were left still...
But anyway. Season 10′s subplot for Cas was about Claire and learning some stuff about himself along the way, but she was used very much for his personal development and for Dean as well, being a mini Dean herself in a season where he had lost a lot of his sense of self. It’s a total accident of scheduling but Angel Heart (10x20) being the last episode before 10x22 is a nice touch in that regard. And while Cas tried really hard with Claire and awoke his inner Dad side so that he’d be more prepared for fatherhood next time, it was pretty insurmountable between them to have anything more than a bittersweet relationship where the best he could do was make up with her and see her somewhere safe. The fact of him looking like her actual dead father is horrendous the more you think about it and while she managed to see him for who he was instead of a horrible monster, that’s more than enough trauma to inflict on an already traumatised girl for the sake of helping Cas’s manpain and tidying up the sticky question of Jimmy and Cas’s right to the vessel.
Angel Heart very specifically ends with TFW mailing Claire to Jody because they know she’s already good with Alex in a genuine way and can handle these sort of issues and has done it before. And also because she can be a guardian who will not constantly remind Claire that her father is dead but something is walking around wearing a perfect reconstruction of his face. Carver era did a few things here and there with bodily autonomy and the problem of angel and demon vessels, but it was also really hit and miss. They’d get random waves of feeling guilty about it but then by necessity go back to stabbing angels in their still-living vessels an episode later. Claire was a way to address at the very least that whatever Cas was being put through was only a punishment on Cas and not on Jimmy as well, which is probably why we got such sappy Heaven scenes. We NEEDED to be shown he was in Heaven and largely okay with what was going on so that the show could justify using Cas at all as a character without breaking the code of ethics they tried to make their own characters adhere to. Aside from that it also gave Cas a side plot for when he wasn’t needed in the main plot, and any emotional connection to anything that wasn’t Sam and Dean.
Anyway 10x20 caused this huge fandom high which was followed by one of the lowest lows of the fandom immediately after, and both centred on female characters (in fact, now we know, 2 lesbians even! Though I’d wonder if, The Gay Agenda aside, Bobo spite-wrote that specifically because of the roots of Wayward) and I think that galvanised the whole movement of fans and hopefully some self-reflection in the show. They DID start making an effort in season 11, which shows some of the early signs of better inclusion but also backtracking or edging nervously away from the more intense Carver era stuff. Not just because Dean didn’t have the Mark any more but in general it was like someone had opened a window and let in some fresh air... Even before Carver bailed somewhere around the midseason to go do a different show and Dabb started to step up.
All this to say that the Wayward stuff was always about the female characters and making up for the past sins of the show. It’s even a riff on the “wayward son” line which obviously centres around male protagonists and their journey. Claire stumbled into being a part of it in the lucky way of being in the right place and time, but the journey had already started even in the season 10 momentum with earlier work and it was that which suddenly made the prospect that Jody had two young women living with her now seem like a starter for the next generation of the show as it was a mirrored format to season 1 in a way, if you took Alex and Claire as the new Sam and Dean. It was exciting but people flipped out after Angel Heart because stuff had been bubbling since season 9 and earlier in season 10, so this was just pouring more candy into an already visibly full bowl of potential tasty gems. It made a possibility seem real that hadn’t before because we already had Kim bitterly complaining that the CW refused to hear the case for a Jody spin off because she was too old. The next best thing was a Jody spin off where she was the Gandalf to some CW age appropriate characters.
(the CW is and always has been garbage)
Anyway in season 13 Jack was introduced as a Claire 2.0 but as a male character with staying power for that reason, but he was filling the space she left for Cas. He couldn’t be a father to her and neither really wanted that set up anyway. But thematically it had created the possibility of Dadstiel and the space he had in his heart for that. Since the show was in its waning years they would be looking for endgame and handing Cas an easy win with a son he could unconditionally love who would love him back unconditionally absolutely filled that gap. It was a non SamnDean thing that Cas could have for himself outside of whatever happened with them. Not sure the memo came back that he was supposed to have mORE than that but oh well it’s not real if you don’t watch it :))) But yeah Jack was always going to be linked to Cas’s endgame, he wasn’t a free-floating character such as Jody who could go where she wanted and do as she pleased. He was main story relevant from start to finish and tied inexorably to another main character’s fate. Because the show wouldn’t do that with its female characters they could be bundled into spin offs but in practical terms Jack was both never what the Wayward as envisioned by fans or writers was about, nor would he have been free to go.
Since it would have been about centering the stories of people overlooked by the main story, Claire a case in point that she had her life ruined in season 4 and it was a footnote until season ten, and then metaphorically more the concept of having queer and non-white characters in the mix of main characters, it would have represented a future of the story where the main show was unable to tread. Probably because of the CW. Also inherent biases in the writers. Bad cocktail. Jack is both too white and too male to fit the brief to ever leave SPN, and not only that but he is so as a precise mirror to the main white male characters, being passably any one of their sons if you squint, and meant to be instantly instinctively read as such... he was one of the safest bets of representing the show as the network wanted to imagine its target demographic.
So I really don’t think that Jack has any place being in a spin off of the show unless you want more of the same. They tried to give us something different and the CW didn’t like it because it wasn’t more of the same. Ironically a Jack spin off, with or without Claire, would have more chance of being greenlit and more chance of success. But the spin off they put their heart behind was Wayward Sisters as it was. And I think it was absolutely correct that never mind leaving Jack out of it after his work was done in the lead up episode to help set the table, but honestly they could have cut all the middle scenes of Sam and Dean wandering in the woods and gained precious seconds with the girls and still had a functioning story with those guys. It was like some cowardly missive was sent that the show couldn’t actually go more than 10 minutes without showing a flesh and blood Winchester or the whole thing would spontaneously sizzle out of syndication and the money tree would wither on the spot. And in the mean time, we could have been having Banter with the girls. Or Claire and Kaia holding hands some more. The good stuff :P

Chapter 88: Castle Cry (XV)
{cw: discussion of miscarriage, gore}
As soon as they returned to the copy world, they saw Dr. Lu standing with them, staring at their hands that were still in a handshake and seeing them move. He was also surprised: "So fast? Just five or six seconds!"
"The flow of time in the field is very different from that outside. We talked inside for nearly an hour," Su He said.
With his mouth open, Dr. Lu said with envy, "It's so good, can't you just rest in the field? Can you be healed in the field if you’re injured?"
Su He smiled and said, "I haven’t evolved my field enough to bring my body inside, and there are still many restrictions within the field. If it’s my own task, it should be impossible to open the field during the task, as the system has restrictions on this."
"Oh..." Dr. Lu was a little disappointed, and then cheered up. "Should we go back? Look, the door has appeared. "
Qi Leren also looked back at the castle door, which stood there as if it had never disappeared.
"Eh? Are you going to finish your task? At present, your completion is only... 45%." Su He closed his eyes, as if to confirm some information, and then reported the task completion to them.
"30% can get 20 survival days!" Dr Lu said happily, not greedy at all.
Su He seemed to be surprised by his unproductive attitude, and then looked at Qi Leren, who was hesitating and had been caught red-handed secretly glancing at Su He.
"Do you want to encourage us to fight again?" Qi Leren asked Su He.
Dr. Lu looked him dead in the eyes and said: "This is the rhythm of playing the true ending. You nearly bashed in your head to get the simple ending, and you want to play the true ending..."
Su He looked at them with a smile: "Isn't there me?"
"Huh?" Dr. Lu looked at him in surprise. "But you don’t have any skill cards that can be used in this kind of investigation task, do you?"
Qi Leren wasn’t surprised. Just now, he felt that Su He was helpful.
"I can use this. If you encounter any danger later, I’ll rely on you." Su He pointed to his forehead and said calmly. He spoke naturally, without showing off, but this confident attitude infected the two, and they couldn't help believing him.
"Well said well said, this time we want to get a big prize! Qi Leren, you have to protect Su He! Every hair on his head!" Dr. Lu didn't have a practical concept of Su He's strength, and he couldn't use his skill card, so he subconsciously put him on the same level as himself.
Qi Leren, with a slap in the mouth, felt that Su He meant that if they were in danger, they had to find a way to protect themselves. He only provided consultation and help, but did not provide combat support. Although he suspected that Su He could beat all the monsters in this copy without skill cards, he didn’t think that such senior players would rely on skill cards.
"Where do we start?" Qi Leren asked.
"Although both of you have told me about this mission, it’s inevitable that there are gaps. I have doubts about several points. The first one is the NPC Nina. Unfortunately, now we’re in the world outer, and it will take at least an hour to see her." Su He played with his cane and thought, "But I think I should go to the room at the end of the corridor on the first floor. I have some vague guesses that need to be verified."
"Well, we just haven't been to Nina's room in the outer world." Qi Leren recalled the course of action he and Dr. Lu had taken before, and he really didn't go to that room when he was in the outer world.
"What's wrong with that room?" Dr. Lu asked.
"Many questions. The most direct one, why is the door of a room locked from the outside?" Su He asked.
"Uh..." Dr. Lu froze.
Then Qi Leren realized what the sense of unease was when he first heard Nina's call. There was also a small room in the big room at the end of the corridor, and it was a separate room, but this room has two locks inside and outside - Qi Leren had noticed before, this door had an internal lock. Now looking back, the lock outside should have been added later, a very rough lock, which could be opened only by being snapped, and there was no standard lock that needed a key to be opened.
"Do you suspect there’s a problem with Nina?" Qi Leren asked.
"I don't want to rule out this possibility until I find enough clues," Su He said calmly.
"I told you before that I saw an illusion after I found the third devil sacrifice in the basement. In that illusion, Nina released the crazy lady who was locked in the basement. I think she may be... a good person," Qi Leren thought.
"But it’s also possible that she had a different motive." Dr. Lu touched his chin and said, "Why did she help the crazy lady escape? Because she was loyal to the crazy lady? I think she’s quite suspicious. When we asked about the crazy lady’s miscarriage, her tone... oh, it was guilty."
Dr. Lu said: "And the male owner of this castle is also very strange. After his wife miscarried and went crazy, he locked her in the dark basement. They seemed to be very loving before, so this would be strange if there was no problem."
"Adeline," Qi Leren said a name. The crazy lady seemed to believe that this woman named Adeline was the chief culprit of her miscarriage. She took away Johann's love, but she said Adeline was a kind and stupid woman, which was very contradictory. Besides, Adeline was already dead.
"This name is a bit familiar..." Dr. Lu scratched his head. "Oh, Johann mentioned Adeline in his diary. It seems to be a friend of the crazy lady, but I think she and Johann seemed to be in a bit of a situation."
"You mentioned this. Are the diaries and letters still there? Let me see," Su He said.
"I kept them with me." Dr. Lu handed Su He the diary and letter he had found in his study.
Su He's reading speed was very fast, and he only glanced at it and returned it: "The situation is more complicated... Let's go and see Nina first."
Done talking, the three headed for Nina's corridor. There was no electrical lighting in the world. Su He still hand in his hand the candlestick that had been found in some unknown place, and Dr. Lu also held a flashlight. Only Qi Leren, whose mobile phone had died, had to walk behind them, while planning to go back to the second floor later and get his flashlight back from the piano room.
"Hahahahaha ... Adeline, Johann, stop!" Strange laughter came from a distance behind him. The three people immediately turned back. Outside the corridor, a familiar figure ran to the stairs. She wore a long dress and laughed as she ran all the way. The strange laughter that was like crying permeated the dark.
"Nan Lu!" Dr. Lu recognized her.
She’s gotten worse, Qi Leren thought with worry. Dr. Lu said before that Nan Lu was scared away after he entered the basement. At that time, he had a bad feeling. Now it had been fulfilled: "Let’s go and see, maybe it’s the plot."
The three people then ran back, and as soon as they entered the hall, they saw three people confronting each other on the landing of the curved staircase.
Under the empty copper frame, Nan Lu, dressed in a gown, held Xiao Hong's right hand, while Luo Xueyi, who was also dressed in a gown, held Xiao Hong's left hand. The two women pulled Xiao Hong, who was the only one sane, from left to right. He shouted in horror: "Don't pull! It's going to break, it's going to break! Let go!"
"Adeline! You let go!" Nan Lu screamed and shouted.
Luo Xueyi took Xiao Hong's arm and giggled: "Who is Adeline? Adeline is dead, I am not Adeline, I am Sarah, Sarah von Wolff, I am you!"
"Let go, please, let go! It hurts, it hurts, ahhh-!" The severe pain made Xiao Hong’s face redden and shed tears. He cried bitterly, but the two women who pulled him from left to right had inhuman power and he couldn’t escape at all.
"Get out of here, you’re dead! Go back to hell and keep the devil company! Never appear again, go away, go away!" The screams of Nan Lu were piercing and bitter, and there was a faint trace of fear.
Luo Xueyi smiled at her, then at Xiao Hong who was crying for mercy, giggling, and catching Xiao Hong's arm with her other hand, and then pulling hard-
The harsh light of thunder and lightning lit up outside the window, accompanied by a rolling clap of thunder. Xiao Hong's screams come to an abrupt end, and a disgusting tearing sound followed by something wet, like the sound of torn fabrics, like the sound of soaked sponges being torn apart, and then the sound of rain falling on the ground…
There was a bloody rain on the landing of the stairs, and internal organs fell to the ground. Xiao Hong's body seemed to have been split by a mysterious force from head to toe, perfectly divided into two halves. Luo Xueyi dragged a bloody half of his body and ran to the higher staircase while laughing crazily. Her dress, which was exactly the same as the crazy lady in the portrait, was covered with blood, and two long bloody marks were dragged out on the ground together with Xiao Hong's half-body.
Nan Lu gawked at the half body in her hands. Only half of his brain had fallen out of his skull, half hanging on the bloody bone, leaving only the nerve connecting the brain to keep it from rolling to the ground, but the internal organs were not treated so well, and the body split down the middle could no longer stop the bloody intestines and internal organs from flowing all over the floor.
She suddenly began to cry, holding only half the body to sob, and the cry echoed in the dark.

cr: Sufficiently Advanced Magic
*spoiler warning*
Chapter 1 - 5
Chapter one
“I was prepared in a thousand different ways that didn’t matter” - Me for every test I’ve ever taken ☺️✨✨
Omg is he gonna go look for his brother 🥺 This book said found family but make it literal - side note, love the name Tristan.
I hope it’s explained as to WHY hundreds of 17 year olds are enduring a judgment to their possible death????
Imagine you’re brother going basically missing, your mom leaving, and then your dad pulling you out of school so you can prepare to possibly ✨die✨
“It could take years to grow strong enough-” 🥺 He’s going to sacrifice years of his life and risk certain death just for a chance to reunite his family is this book gonna make me cry?
I don’t like his name as much as I like his brothers but yanno whatever- how do you even say Corin
I already hate the dad??? Hello? Your first son is gone and your second could follow in his fate and you don’t even see him off?? Fuck you buddy why are book dads such assholes
“I loathed hurting people. I always had.” so i have decided that if anything happens to Corin I will kill everyone in the room and then myself. WHAT A CUTIE SWEET SOUL
If this book forces him to hurt someone I’ll riot-
Oh my gosh he hates fighting but he’s willing to fight for his brother I LOVE HEALTHY BROTHER RELATIONSHIPS they’re so pure
Corin is so nice to try to explain all of this weapon stuff and rune stuff to me like I have any idea wtf he’s talking about- he’s talking and I’m like I’m just happy to be here ☺️
I feel like the fact that he’s paying for everything he takes is important- like maybe other people just take and don’t leave anything? But he’s like here’s a coin for you scary tower~
“It was too cute to die” why do I love Corin so
Tumblr media
What a cute ass sweet ass cinnamon roll, my god🥺
HE FELT GUILTY FOR KILLING A SHADOW SNDKDNSK I love him sm what a king
Chapter two
Why does everything he say sound so intelligent
ldmoaha not Corin having a convo with a book
It’s been too long since I read a normal romance book why did my brain just decide to ship Corin and a BOOK
Ok but him taking time to ask about his brother has me so soft
What the flip chapter 2 was so short??? ):
Chapter three
“You shouldn’t have done that” how ominous and amazing and I love it
He so casually was like OH LOOK A DEAD BODY OH LOOKIE PEOPLE
Omg is he gonna find his brother in here- OH MY
OMG HE DID AHHHHH
just... kidding. He did infact not find him.
Oh wait someone younger than him though- so is going into the tower a choice? That would make it a little better. Like you decide when you go in or? I NEED MORE INFO PLS
The word resh is growing on me
He risked his gold key on her 🥺
I love this little merry band of criminals- also just hoping the kid doesn’t yanno....die
omg Keras is out here crushing stones with his bare hands 😏 hellooooo
Wait I’m so conflicted??? I want to trust Keras and Vera but I also want to trust the book alsnsish
Vera is a whole mood I really hope she’s not like evil or just a weird thing in the tower or idk whatever I want her to stay
AWWAIT ☹️☹️☹️ They left Keras behind- that can’t be it. He’s gotta come back right? Like book person is gonna save him? Right!!??
Chapter four
VERA SUCH A BADDDDIE
This ‘kid’ they’re carrying is just making out like a bandit, he’s just getting carried through the tower 😂
WOW FUCK YOU VERA??? UH I HOPE SOMETHING KILLS HER-but not rhe kid 😔
Okay this might be a weird jump- but WHAT IF THE BOOK ENTITY ISSSSS HIS BROTHER??????????? Like the book person seems to really care if Corin lives? so it’s either just like a really caring person, OR HIS BROTHER
Pls let me be right
That would be so cool
The book entity helped him to finish the rest completely? Is this allowed? This feels not allowed
Corin: fighting monsters with criminals in a magical tower, very time sensitive needs to escape quickly
Also Corin: lemme just wrote a little diary entry ✨☺️
So obviously he’s going to get to keep his memories
Also like he got out of the tower so easily? What?
“And don’t let anyone hassle you about your attunement.” HOW VERY OMONIOUS OF YOU TO SAY
Honestly- Fuck Magnus Cadence
REPLACEMENT? What?
His childhood bestfriend is his half sister? I love that???? Instead of making them love interests they’re half siblings that’s cool as hell. We love childhood friends to siblings trope
I will reiterate, FUCK MAGNUS CADENCE
I hope we get to see their friendship bc I’m here for this trope
Chapter five
🥺 he sent the boys glove to his parents I’m so soft
Tumblr media
Their relationship makes me so happy?? Like I love this. So they better reunite or I’ll riot
BROTHERLY RELATIONSHIPS ARE THE BESTTT
I miss Keras 🥺
I am so unsure of Sera. I do love the sudden sibling, and I really really hope they end up having a cool relationship and like she helps him find his(their) brother and hdjsjdjs
If anyone gives Corin a hard time for his attunement I’ll throw hands-
Not them earning points at their schools- All I can think about how is “10 points to gryffindor”
I love the word behooves
Can they go back into the tower already 💀 This down time is killing me. I want book entity, Keras and that boy who was unconscious the entire time back.
-side note, I absolutely love how all three of them(Keras, Corin, and Vera) were all so concerned with this unconscious boy and they literally carried him to complete safety. Who is this boy?? Will he come back? I miss him he better not be be dead. Vera can die but not unconscious boy.
I don’t know if I’m supposed to like Sera... but she’s giving me “I’m better than you because I have a better attunement” vibes and I do not like that at all so if Icneed to I will pretend to doesn’t exist.
Aw the schools has like animal representatives decisions?? CUTE UM. - there’s way too many for my brain to keep up with but I love them anyway
Not them assigning kids to basically play pranks on everyone else and tell them if they don’t find the prankster kids they lose points- what a weird ass school
“You and Patrick were practically brothers” GIRL YOU CANT SAY THINGS LIKE THAT TO SOMEONE WHO HAS AN ACTUAL BROTHER WHO IS MISSING AND/OR DEAD
-Also I know Tristen isn’t dead because like then what would be the point huh? HUH? So he’s got to be alive
Or I’ll riot.
“A walking rainstorm” idk why but that is so fucking adorable. I love my new comfort raintorm, Corin.
I can’t wait for them(Corin and Sera) to meet up with their friends and they have to explain that they’re now half siblings.
Them reminding him to not lose his little sigil pin makes me feel like he’s going to lose or forget it ummmm
Imagine getting fucking EXPELLED because you forgot your pin on your other uniform.
I feel like that would be me honestly. Are people not just...forgetful in this universe??
Ngl i would hate to be in the tortoise division
Corins attunement is lamer but his division is called the Phoenix? Like that’s so much cooler than tortoise
The fact that sera is trying to convince me the Spider division isn’t real makes me feel like she’s in it???
Tumblr media
I know my babey Corin didn’t mean this as snarky as I would have liked him to but I love this line so much.
SARCASTIC BOYS WITH DADDY ISSUES OWN ME AND IM NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT
Ngl I was hoping they would have roommates- I love a good school roommate dynamic
For the third time I would like to make my opinion to be known; FUCK MAGNUS CADENCE
Why has no one made a playlist for this book on Spotify? I am throughly disappointed
Not Corin being ghosted by his book-
I wish I had half the motivation Corin has? Like it’s my boys first day of school and as soon as he gets into his room he starts studying. I would have taken a nap
Oop jk as soon as he couldn’t find the rune he was looking for he went to lay in bed.
I’m sorry what in the hell is Wyddsday??? Did I miss them explaining to hat this universe has different names for it’s days of the week?? How am I supposed to know when this is Corin? Or what day it even is currently
World building is so intricate and interesting and I absolutely live for it- but it’s literally so frustrating sometimes learning and remembering everything
Okay Sera being less irritated about her studies being interrupted because it’s Corin is cute
Fuck
I still don’t know if I’m supposed to like Sera
Tashday, Fersday, Kyrsday, Tensday, Vasday, and Wyddsday- either I can’t count or they’re missing a day. And what order do they go in? I need a calendar insert pls and thanks
Wait wait did he just run into an ex? What is this sndlsnsin “long-buried emotions”??
Oooo we get a name. Cecily Lambert
Tumblr media
I didn’t possibly think I could relate to Corin anymore than I already do but here I am
The dorm chiefs introduce themselves to everyone? How cute and Curtis didn’t seem at all annoyed by Corin asking so many questions I love when upperclassman in books aren’t rude for no reason. It’s such a tiring trait they often have smh
I need his exams to hurry up because I would very much like to get back to the fast paced tower scenes-
I know absolutely nothing about Jin but I love him immensely

Thoughts on atots ep 8?😔 i need your opinion please because ugh😩
honestly? my thoughts are all over the place, i haven’t really been able to articulate since yesterday but i’m going to try since you seem to need it.
like. it wasn’t pretty. most of it was actually really ugly lmao although it wasn’t tian’s job to tell the villagers about torfun’s death, i do like that he took responsibility for it because he is guilty on some level and i’m trying to be comprehensive about this plot point but i admit that i hate it, deeply.
and of course that the confession would have negative consequences, especially with phupha who had sworn to never forgive the person who killed torfun. so the ugliness of it all was expected by me.
phupha doesn’t always show but he has a lot of grief and rage bottled up inside because they never caught the person responsible for torfun’s death, and to suddenly find out that the love of his life is to blame? of all people? how is he going to take that well?
plus the diary. i’m not entirely sure i like the whole “tian is similar to torfun because he read the things in her diary”, because while it is better than ghost possession (please 😩), it still feels like a low blow. almost like tian was trying to live torfun’s life for real? but like i get it, tian is confused about himself and all that’s happening, maybe doing the things torfun did was a coping mechanism for him. i can’t really talk about all the psychological effects that this whole mess is causing on tian because even though we’re almost always with him, he rarely lets us in his head.
anyways, phupha was harsh. really harsh. i’m not gonna say that what he did was right or wrong because i don’t think that’s really the point here. he’s human, he makes mistakes, he’s grieving and feeling betrayed. that’s a valid reaction to me because think about it:
phupha should’ve told the villagers about torfun. YES. he made the mistake of omitting that but why? because those people are his family and he didn’t want to hurt them. and eventually it became harder and harder to tell them because that’s how secrets work when you keep them for too long.
now, tian should’ve told them about his involvement in torfun’s death. YES. he didn’t do it and why? because he didn’t want to hurt the people that he’s grown to care about like his own family.
do you see the parallels here? they both made the same mistake. out of fear, out of love. and again, it’s not about right or wrong, it’s about humanity and its complexities.
so if we can’t empathize with both of these characters then we’re clearly not treating either of them as people.
but what really amazes me is how much phupha loves tian (oh yes, i’m gonna go there). because it only took the confirmation that tian wasn’t driving the car that hit torfun to snap him out of his grieving rage. because he loves tian so much that it doesn’t matter if it was tian’s friend or even tian’s own car. as long as it wasn’t tian himself, phupha is willing to forgive him. that’s how desperately in love phupha is, that’s how much phupha didn’t want tian to be the murderer of someone who is so precious to him.
phupha loves tian so much he took a bullet for him, without hesitating.
are we really going to hate phupha for lashing out after finding out that the man he loves has supposedly killed the woman he saw as a little sister? and made the whole village love and trust him only to drop that bomb? regardless of phupha’s own mistakes, isn’t that too intolerant for the fandom of a show that keeps preaching about forgiveness? just think about that for a minute.
all in all, it was messy and sad, i’m not entirely sure i liked it afjndksjdks p’aof better give us THE BEST ENDING POSSIBLE or i’m suing him.
but in general, i understand both characters. i know that tian is trying his best to make amends, i know that if he could turn back time he would undo all of this, but it’s too late now and all that’s left is time and learning to forgive and be forgiven.
P.S PHUPHA IS NOT DEAD. HE IS GOING TO BE FINE. that’s just the universe telling him to stop being full of rage aldjksdjsk i luv my man ❤️

Mamma Mia
Tumblr media
“Are you going to invite your dad?” You look up from the drafted seating chart and the list that’s being compiled. The table is littered with post-it’s and address books, sheets of paper and pencils, even the odd photograph.
Aya, your soon-to-be sister-in-law, examines a photo- one of you and your mother on the front porch. You know that photo, your mother had just bought the house that you would grow up in, and she looks so happy, holding you on her hip.
“I don’t know.” You admit, wanting to drop the subject.
“It’s not every day your daughter gets married,” Aya grins, “you can’t tell me you don’t want to get walked down the aisle by your father.”
And it’s ridiculous, you’re a grown woman now, not a little girl hunched over her desk on Father’s Day, burning with envy as your classmates complain or chat about their other parent.
“I would if I had one.” You finally say, and thankfully that shuts Aya up.
-x-
Once the thought is planted, though, it doesn’t go away.
What would it be like to have a father to walk you down the aisle and give you away?
You turn over in your bed and close your eyes.
You’ve wanted a father before, of course. What little girl doesn’t?
Family is your mother- only your mother.
When you were a little girl, and you came home from school and asked “where is my Daddy?” your mother had faltered and said, ashamed, “you don’t have one”.
When you got older, your mother had said she’d been young and in over her head.
Your mom has never not been enough of a parent- and you feel guilty even now for wanting this one thing.
But you burn with that want.
-x-
You feel ashamed, going through your mother’s things in the attic. You have a spare key of course, and you know your mother’s schedule- she likes routine, and Tuesdays are her grocery days. There’s boxes of things up here- old clothes, photo albums, holiday decorations, furniture. In the back, under a sheet, next to the box of old china, though, is what you’re looking for.
Your mother is a journaler. She always has been- “I need to keep my thoughts straight,” she’d explained once. If there’s any clue to your father, it’ll be in her old journals. So you do the math and take the small stack of dusty volumes and leave, locking the door behind you.
Your heart pounds like you’re guilty, because you are, you’re a thief, you broke your mother’s trust and you did something horrible. You feel so guilty, in fact, that you can’t actually bring yourself to read the thing for a week. It just burns a hole in your vision wherever you put it, drawing your gaze to it like a magnet no matter where you put it. So you stow it away in a drawer for that week. When you finally get the nerve to read it, it takes time.
Your mother’s thoughts are personal and warm- she has doodles on the pages, and smudges of ink, or places where the pencil wore away and you have to take your time sussing out the words. You’re terrified that maybe this was all for nothing. Maybe there isn’t a name here, even, and you’ll just have to deal with that.
X/X/XX
I met the sweetest guy today! His name is Oboro, and he has such a nice smile, you wouldn’t believe it. I saw him walk into the store and my heart just jumped! I was trying not to be creepy about it, he’s so pretty, I just wanted to look at him, you know?
But then he came up to me and asked me on a date!
I can’t believe it- it was so easy to talk to him, this is going to be amazing!
Oboro? You jot down the name. It’s still a few months from when you could have reasonably been conceived, but it’s still a name.
X/Y/XX
Oboro took me out for dinner on the water. He’s such a nice guy, he let me talk and didn’t interrupt, didn’t act obnoxious at all! I had such a good time with him, and he wants to go out again!
Mom kept up with that, along with some doodles- unfortunately your Mom isn’t a very good artist, so it’s not very helpful.
After a few pages though, you frown.
X/YY/XX
Oboro introduced me to a couple of his friends today- Hizashi and Shouta. They’re an odd pair. I really wish he’d warned me that I’d be meeting them instead of just springing it on me on date night.
It was a little weird. Apparently they just got back into town, so I offered to leave so they could catch up, but they all wanted to hang out. So they joined us on the date. I mean, they’re nice, but yeah. Awkward. Hizashi is a bit like Oboro, cheerful, I mean. He doesn’t light me up the way Oboro does. Aizawa’s the odd one out, very quiet.
Hm.
You take a break after that, getting up to stretch and rest your eyes. You text your fiancée, eye the journal and your laptop. First names aren’t enough to conduct a search, you reason.
Then you sit back down.
More dates between the four of them.
Eventually Mom had warmed up to Shouta and Hizashi. They started hanging out casually, after assuring Oboro that it ‘wasn’t like that’. Apparently her boyfriend had laughed and kissed her silly, and told her ‘I know’.
But as the light faded and night encroached, the diary entries started changing. Instead of laughing accounts about her friends and boyfriend, they became jotted notes using, you assumed, surnames.
Aizawa picked me up from work.
Shirakumo was waiting for me at home.
Yamada offered to grocery shop for me.
Car stopped working. Shirakumo picked me up.
Date was crashed. Shirakumo was overjoyed.
Then there were missing entries. Nothing. For weeks.
One more, then the journal was over.
I’m leaving. I can’t take it anymore.
So…
It…it had to be one of them, didn’t it?
You closed the journal and turned to your laptop, your heart pounding.
Things were weird. So weird. What the hell had happened between the four of them? Had the relationship turned toxic? Had Mom fallen out of love? You wanted to ask her, but you were afraid of the fight.
First off, you googled Oboro Shirakumo. Mom referenced Shirakumo as the one she actually dated, so logically speaking, that had to be it, right?
Your first link was an article about an accident.
Young CEO critically injured in mugging, left in coma.
Oboro Shirakumo, founder of company Cloudbreakers was attacked last Friday evening on his way home from work. The attackers hit Shirakumo over the back of the head with what authorities believe is a pipe. The attack has left Shirakumo in the hospital with extensive brain damage, though doctors are noncommittal if the patient will wake up from his coma.
“In a time of grief such as this,” co founder of Cloudbreakers Shouta Aizawa commented on Sunday morning, “we, as a company, can only come together and hope for the best. Our hopes and prayers are with Shirakumo.”
Shirakumo still hadn’t woken up yet, and it had been years, and while that was tragic, that really answered a big question.
Shouta Aizawa.
So that just left Hizashi Yamada.
Their actual residence was harder to find- but you found articles about the historic houses that they’d bought, and from there you were able to just google that address.
But what do you say?
“Hi, I’m getting married and I think one of you might be my dad? Did you sleep with my mom? Or is Oboro Shirakumo just my dad?”
Worth a shot, right?
-X-
The letters were identical, except for who they were addressed to.
They were fairly formal, introducing yourself, explaining the circumstances, and, obviously your mother’s name- along with formal apologies for Shirakumo’s current state, and apologies about the circumstances and possible misunderstanding.
You sent them off two days later.
-x-
Your phone was ringing.
“Hold on babe, I have to take this,” you apologized, kissing your fiancée on the cheek. The sweetheart that he was, he just grinned and told you to take your time.
You excused yourself from the dining room and answered.
“Hey mom-”
“What did you do???”
You jumped at the volume, in the background there was something banging.
“Is someone at the door-”
“Did you write them?” Your mother demanded, still screaming. It was so loud, was she in danger?
“Mom what’s going on? What is that?”
“You called them- they found me, why? Why would you- AAAAAGUH!” You flinched as she started screaming. “GET OUT! LEAVE ME ALONE- JUST-”
“MOM?” People were staring, but you felt cold all over. Was she getting murdered? Do you stay on the line or call 911?
“You bitch! You think you can just do what you did? Hide like this?”
“GO! YOU NEED TO HIDE- DON’T LET THEM FIND YOU-”
The phone went dead.

DPOV
Sam, Liz and I hurried down the porch stairs, seeing Brian hurry around the house and towards us.
"Hey. You okay?" he asked us.
Ignoring his question, I got to the more pressing issue. "Where is everybody?"
"Hiding."
"All right, go get them. Go. Go get them," I told him. Once he was gone, I turned back to Liz and Sam. "So, it's not a ghost."
"So, it's just a girl?" Sam shrugged.
I shook my head. "It's not just a girl. It's psycho Nell. I'm telling you, man. Humans."
"Who cares what she is? I wanna know who she is and why she's here." Liz had a good point.
"I don't know." I shrugged. "Maybe it's the daughter, Rebecca. Maybe she didn't hang herself."
"Dude, no." Sam didn't look convinced. "She'd have to be like fifty years old by now."
"Well, I don't know," I sighed. It’s not like we had a lot to work on right now. "What'd you find in the attic?"
"Some old junk. I found Rebecca's diary. That's about it."
"I wish you'd found a howitzer." Anything to get rid of the psycho and keep us safe would be good. "Listen, we got to get this family safe. I mean, it's just a human, so they can make a run for it. We just got to hold her off."
Just then, Susan, Brian and Kate came around the corner. "We're okay," Susan assured us.
"Danny! Ted!" Brian called out. "We got to go!"
A moment later, Ted jogged around from the other side of the house. "I'm good!"
"Danny!" Susan yelled. "Come on!"
"Danny, buddy, we got to go!" Brian added.
Ted turned to me. "Told you it was some crazy bitch."
I fought the urge to roll my eyes. "Yes, you did."
Sam stepped up to Brian and Susan. "Head to town. We'll take it from here, okay?"
"Danny, come on, baby! We're leaving!" Susan was still calling out to her son.
"Danny, we got to go!"
But when neither Brian's or Susan's calls were answered, she turned to her husband with fear in her eyes. "Brian, where- where is he?"
"Danny!"
"Danny!"
When he figured Danny wasn't coming, Brian knew the rest of his family still had to be taken care of, so he grabbed his wife. "Suse, Suse, Suse.” He shook her until she looked at him. “We will find Danny, I promise you."
She shook her head, voice shaking. "No."
"No. Take Kate and go now. Now, while you still have a chance."
"Not without Danny."
"We will find him," he assured her.
Kate shook her head. "I am not going out there with mum alone."
She had a good point, the two of them alone might not last that long... "She's right. Until we find your son, the safest place for you right now is in the shed." I gestured to the small shed a few feet from the house.
Kate turned to me. "I am not going in there either."
"Yes, you are." I wasn't leaving it up for discussion. "It is the best defence. The windows are boarded up. It's got one door. It's our best shot right now. Trust me."
Agreeing with me, Brian nodded as he grabbed his wife's attention again. "Suse. Kate. Go." When they didn't move, he repeated himself, a little firmer. "Go."
Once both Susan and Kate were gone, the rest of us huddled up.
Sam gestured to Brian. "All right, you and me will take the outside." Then he nodded to Liz, Ted and I. "You three take the house. Let's go."
EPOV
Back in the living room, both Dean and I moved to the door the girl had come out of while Ted grabbed a knife from one of the boxes in the dining room. Opening the door, I crouched down to feel the floor while Dean checked the walls.
"What are you doing?" Ted asked.
"She's human. She had to come from somewhere," Dean explained right before he found a loose board big enough for a person to fit through.
As we pulled the board away, we were hit with a rotting and stale stench. Dean and I didn't react, but Ted pulled away, making a noise of disgust.
"You smell that?"
"Every day," Dean mumbled. Turning to Ted, he gestured for the knife, which Ted gave him. Using his torch to light the way, he crawled into the space. "Come on." Putting both objects in one hand, he offered me the other to help me through.
I took his free hand while Ted held the board out of my way. Moving further into the space, Dean and I stood and shuffled down a little more so Ted could get in. It was a tight fit and dark, and in an instant, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
"You feel that?" I swear, it was like I could feel eyes on me, watching our every move.
Dean looked down at me. "What?"
Shaking my head, I dismissed the feeling as just being paranoid. "Never mind."
Once Ted was in, we started to move further down the space. It wasn't long before we came to a corner, and around that corner was a hole.
As Dean looked down the hole, thinking, Ted spoke up, "You're not going down there."
"Well, do you want to?"
Ted didn't say anything, but that told us everything. He wasn't going down, and I really wasn't surprised. Didn't blame him either. But as Dean started to crouch, I knew I couldn't leave him to go on his own.
"I'm going, too."
Dean looked up at me. I could see he was unsure of that idea. "Liz..."
"I'm not asking, Dean. I'm telling.
Sighing, knowing there was no point in arguing, Dean started to lower himself down into the hole. "Please nobody grab my leg. Please nobody grab my leg." The moment he was down he looked around for a moment before looking up at me. "Okay. Just… take it easy."
Nodding, I crouched down and eased my legs in, letting Dean grab my waist and help me down. The whole time, I knew I should be concentrating on the job and the danger, but I couldn't stop thinking about his hands on me. It was like my body was hyper-aware of everything around me. The eyes watching us before, now Dean touching me...
Once my feet were on solid ground, I dusted myself and gave him a small smile. "Thanks."
"No problem." He gave a short nod back and turned, only to jump when he nearly walked into a rat's corpse that hung mere inches from his face. "Son of a-" Turning away from the rat, he paused again, light shining on another corpse. "Dog. It's what's for dinner."
Buster the dog had been torn to shreds. Poor guy...
"Danny?" Dean called, trying to keep his voice low.
"Find anything?" Ted asked from above.
"Yeah, her kitchen," Dean mumbled. "Watch where you're going, okay? There's crap everywhere," he warned me as we started to move, having to stay hunched so as not to hit our heads.
As we looked around, I noticed some artwork drawn on the walls, in blood. It was a picture of two stick figures holding hands, a boy and a girl.
"She's just a kid." The words left my mouth before I realised I was even thinking them.
Dean turned to me. "Liz, she's-"
Before he could finish, he was cut off by the sound of a scream, and then a thump.
Hurrying back to the hole, we reached it two seconds before Ted fell forward, half of him hanging out of the hole, blood dripping from the fatal wound in his neck.
Dean grabbed me and pushed me back as he used his other hand to cover the torch's light. The two of us pressed into the wall as much as possible, trying to stay hidden. Trying not to make a noise or move a muscle.
SPOV
Brian and I were in the shed with Susan and Kate, who were sitting in the corner, waiting. Brian was pacing. We'd been waiting for Dean, Ted and Lizzie to come back for some time now. They'd been gone a lot longer than Brian and I had been out looking for Danny.
"Look," Brian stepped up to me, "why are we just standing here? Let's go in. Let's check the house."
"We have to wait for them to get back, okay?"
There was a knock on the door then, followed by Dean's voice. "Sam, it's us."
Moving to the door, I gestured to the heavy desk we'd put in front of it. "Help me out."
Brian came over to help, pulling the desk out of the way so we could open the door. Once we did, Dean and Lizzie stepped in, alone...
Susan hurried over to them in an instant. "Did you get Danny?"
Dean shook his head, clearly feeling guilty. "No."
"No?" Looking around, Susan then noticed what I already had. "Well, where's Ted?"
"He's outside."
Frowning at Dean's response, Susan didn't stop with the questions. "Well, why doesn't he come inside?"
Dean and Lizzie shared pained looks as my brother answered, "Because I had to carry him out. I'm sorry."
"You're... what does that mean? What does that mean, you're sorry?"
Brian looked between Lizzie and Dean. "Are you saying that he's dead?"
Susan shook her head. "No. No, he's not saying that he's dead. You're not saying that, are you?"
All of a sudden, Lizzie turned and walked out.
Dean watched her go, no one stopping her as he explained what happened. "We were in the walls and she attacked." Susan's hand came up to cover her mouth as she moved to cry against Brian's shoulder as he wrapped an arm around her. "And I couldn't get to him in time."
"Uncle Ted is dead?"
Shaking his head, looking so guilty, Dean turned for the door. "I shouldn't have left him alone." Before he left, he turned back to Brian. "I'm very sorry."
EPOV
Dean was standing a few feet away from where I sat outside the shed, watching the perimeter. Everyone else was inside. Sam was reading the diary he found while Brian tried to calm Susan who was in shock.
"Hi..."
I looked up from where I sat on the grass outside the shed, seeing Kate coming out to stand next to me. "Hey..."
"Can I join you?" she asked, gesturing to the spot next to me.
I moved over a bit as an answer.
Once she sat down, the two of us were silent for a moment or two. Looking out at the house in front of us. Seeing it at night like this, and under these circumstances, it really made the place seem ten times worse than it was. Underneath all the bad, there was plenty of potential.
If it wasn't for the fact hunters don't really settle down, I would have probably found the house nice enough to live in. A bit big. But still nice.
"What's it like?" Kate asked suddenly. "What's your job like?"
"What? Hunting?" I shrugged. "Like any job, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad."
"So, what you do, it's called hunting?"
"Yeah. We hunt monsters and stuff. Save people."
"People like us?"
"Well, yeah... but normally the monsters aren't people," I noted.
I wasn't sure if Dean, Sam, or even Bobby realised this, but I had never killed a human being. Ever. I mean, I've killed witches, and people who turn into things, and people possessed by demons, but I hadn't killed someone that hadn't been touched by the supernatural.
"How did you become a... a hunter?"
"Dad was killed. Mum was killed. Sister was killed," I answered, a little more harshly than I wanted.
Kate rested her chin on her knees that were bent to her chest. "I lost my brother last year. My older brother, Andy." I could hear the sadness in her voice, the loss. "Does it get better?"
I turned to her then, and for the briefest moment, I saw my younger self in her. Hurting. Lost. Confused. Scared. The world was a bigger and lonelier place now. She'd never see things the way she had before. Everything had changed, and she didn't know what to do.
"It'll get better. But it'll never be the same."
DPOV
I walked up to Brian as he stood in front of the house. "Andy your son?" I asked, having overheard Liz and Kate talking about the family’s loss.
He turned to me briefly before looking at the house again. "Oldest. He got himself killed in a car accident last year."
"I'm sorry."
"It nearly tore Suse and me apart. Still could, I imagine. That's why we moved here. Fresh air, fresh start. Not even my line. Marriage counsellor. 'Course, she might be right. After all, what could possibly go wrong in the country?" He shook his head.
"I'm getting your son back," I assured him. "If it's the last godforsaken thing I do."
"Why do you care so much?"
"Dean." We looked over to see Sam and Liz headed towards us, my brother holding up the book. "We gotta talk."
...
Back in the dining room, I looked around to make sure we were alone before turning to Sam and Liz. "What is that?" I gestured to the book.
"Rebecca's diary," Sam explained. "I just finished reading it."
"And?" I pressed, wanting him to get to the point.
"That girl back there? Pretty sure she was Rebecca's daughter."
I frowned. That didn't make any sense... "Rebecca had a kid?"
Sam nodded. "It's all she talks about. Being pregnant, being ashamed of being pregnant."
"Jeez, rent Juno and get over it," I mumbled. "Wait, why kill herself after the baby?"
"Maybe because her dad called her a dirty little whore and said he was gonna lock the baby up," Sam noted.
"Why would he say that?" When Sam said nothing but just gave me a pointed look, the answer came to me. "Oh, gross."
"Yeah." Sam nodded.
"So, the daddy was the baby-daddy too?"
Liz's face turned up in disgust. "How could someone do that to their own child?"
Sam shook his head, just as grossed out. "Dude was a monster."
"Wow, a story ripped from an Austrian headline," I sighed. "Humans, man." Sometimes they could be worse than the monsters we hunted. "So, she's been locked up her whole life?"
"You saw her eyes. Has she ever seen light? She's barely human," Sam noted.
"Okay, so, what, then, she's been caged up like an animal and she busts out and ganks dear old Dad? Slash Granddad?" I asked, trying to figure out the story so we could figure out what to do next.
"I guess." Sam shrugged.
That made things a little clearer. After a life like that, no wonder she killed her father. "Well, can't say I blame her."
"I'm sure her life was hell, Dean. It doesn't mean she gets a free pass for murder."
"Like you know what Hell's like."
"I didn't..."
No, he didn't know what Hell was like. But I did. I knew the torture and pain of it all. I knew the agony and misery it pulls out of you. The never-ending nightmare you can't wake up from. I'd felt all of it, and I'd inflicted some of the pain too. I knew what it was like, he didn't, so to assume...
"Forget it." Shaking my head, I turned away.
Looking from Sam and me, Liz sighed. "So where is this girl and how do we find her? She's gotta have Danny somewhere."
A thought occurred to me then. "Kid's gotta eat, right?"
"What?" both Sam and Liz asked, confused.
"He kept her hidden, locked up, but he had to feed her, didn't he?"
Sam shrugged. "I guess."
"I think I know where."
SPOV
In the kitchen, Dean, Liz, Brian and I stood around the dumbwaiter. Dean used a fireplace poker to break the drywall to make a hole that would lead down under the house. His theory was that the girl lived under the kitchen, and would be keeping Danny down there too. With no other real options, we were working with his hunch.
"Could've kept her hidden here for years," I noted. "Kept her fed, nobody would ever know."
Once Dean broke through the drywall, Brian flinched back from the rotting stench coming from the hole in the wall.
I moved to lean in, shining the light into the shaft. "Danny! Danny!"
"Watch out, I'm going down," Dean told me. It wasn't a question, and there was no way to stop him.
"No," Brian argued. "That's my son."
But like I said, there was no way to stop Dean. "I know it is, but I said that I would get him. I will. Let me."
After a moment, Brian gave him a short nod of approval. Turning to the shaft, Dean pulled himself in and got himself into a position where he could use the sides to climb down.
Before he did, Lizzie stepped up to him. "Don't do anything stupid. You need help, you yell. Okay?"
"Okay," he assured her.
Once he started climbing down, I leaned into the gap to check on him. The moment his feet touched the ground, I pulled out to look at Brian. "Hey, you got curtains? We need rope."
Without a word, he turned to get what we needed.
Lizzie stepped up to join me then, the two of us squeezing together to look down the shaft to see Dean disappearing, out of sight.
DPOV
As I moved around, I found some of my weapons lying on the ground, scattered all over the place. Picking a gun up, I checked it. "Bitch is a klepto." Moving further in, I picked up another gun and checked it too. "Come on." They were both good. Now armed, I felt a little safer to call out. "Danny. Danny."
The sound of Danny trying to yell or scream caught my attention.
"Danny?" Following the noise, I ended up finding a small gap in a wall.
Shining my light through, I saw Danny bound and gagged, sitting in the dirt. Using my knife, I reached through to cut the ropes around his feet and wrists, setting him free so he could crawl through the hole to me.
"Your dad's upstairs," I told him as we started for the shaft again. "Come on. Watch your head, watch your head."
"Hurry, he's coming back."
I paused. "He?"
"Her brother."
Suddenly a yell came out of nowhere before I was tackled to the floor.
EPOV
Looking into the shaft, I saw Danny come into view. Turning, without a word, I grabbed the makeshift rope Brian and Sam had made out of curtains, and dropped it down the hole. "Danny! Grab on!"
He did as I said, tying the rope around him and gripping onto it tightly. "Okay!"
Once he was ready, I yelled to the others. "Pull!"
Working together, Sam, Brian and I pulled Danny up carefully. I was closest to the gap, grabbing him the moment I could as I helped him out and onto his feet.
Now safe, he ran to his dad, who held him protectively. "Come on. You okay? It's okay."
"Get him out of here," Sam told them. "You gotta go."
I didn't watch to see what they were doing, the moment Danny was out I'd already started to climb into the hole and down the shaft, heading for the basement.
"Lizzie? What are you doing?" Sam moved to try and stop me.
"Dean needs help," was all I said before I moved away from his grasp and started down the shaft.
As I landed on the ground, I listened to the sound of a fight and struggles. Following the noises, I found Dean under a guy who looked just as bad as the girl. It didn't take a genius to figure out he must be her brother.
But I didn't care who he was. He was on top of Dean, attacking him. Dean was in danger. He couldn't see, and I wasn't sure if he even had a weapon to protect himself with. Then to top it off, the boy pulled out a knife, lifting it above his head to bring it down on Dean.
"No!"
Lifting my hand, I threw the boy up and away from Dean, not really thinking about what I was doing. At the same time, Dean sat up and aimed the gun he had, pointing it towards the boy before shooting him in the chest three times.
As the body slumped to the ground, blood oozing from the wounds, I hurried over to Dean, falling to my knees beside him. I checked him over worriedly, making sure he was okay, that he wasn’t hurt. My wide eyes took every inch of him, panicked and concerned.
“Liz.” He rested his hand on mine, stopping me. “I’m okay.”
Slowly, I looked up, meeting his gaze. Then I was throwing my arms around him in a tight and desperately relieved hug.
It took a moment, but after a pause I felt him relax as his own arms wrapped around me, returning the hug.
DPOV
Turns out, while the brother had been attacking me, the girl had gone after Susan and Kate. But Brian had dealt with her... and by dealt with, I mean he'd killed her.
It was morning now, and time to get out of there. I was just finishing fixing Baby while Sam and Liz put all the guns and our supplies back in the trunk. As soon as I finished they came over to stand with me, the three of us turning to see Susan and Brian headed our way.
I gave them a nod. "Thanks for the head start."
Brian looked to each of us. "Why doesn't it surprise me you three don't like the police?"
Sam chuckled lightly. "It's sort of a mutual-appreciation thing, really."
Reaching forward, Brian offered me his hand, which I took. "Well, thank you."
Susan nodded. "Thank you."
"You okay?" I asked her.
She looked to her husband before shaking her head. "No, we're the opposite of okay, but we're together," she answered honestly as she slipped her hand into Brian's. "Thanks."
...
Parked under an overpass, Sam, Liz and I got out of Baby and moved to the hood as Sam passed around some burgers. Leaning against Baby, I unwrapped my food and gave it a smell before wrapping it back up and setting it down next to me.
"You okay?" Sam asked me as Liz paused, halfway through a bite.
"You know, I felt for those sons of bitches back there. Lifelong torture turns you into something like that."
"You were in Hell, Dean," Sam started. "Look, maybe you did what you did there, but you're not them. They were barely human."
I nodded. "Yeah, you're right. I wasn't like them. I was worse. They were animals, Sam, defending territory. Me? I did it for the sheer pleasure."
Liz swallowed her food, her eyes wide. "Dean..."
"I enjoyed it. They took me off the rack, and I tortured souls, and I liked it." I looked away from them as I went on. "All those years, all that pain. Finally getting to deal some out yourself. I didn't care who they put in front of me. Because that pain I felt, it just slipped away. No matter how many people I save, I can't change that. I can't fill this hole. Not ever."

read on ao3
July 22nd 2019
I don’t know what I expected from the first day of filming, but it was… a lot. The two group thing puts on that extra level of pressure, and I can already feel a little sliver of anxiety trying to wiggle its way in. Not that I’d ever let it show, of course. It’s way too early to worry.
As far as the other girls… I actually like them all, which, let’s be honest, is the biggest shock of them all. I almost kind of wanted an enemy. But I think I might have found the opposite. Crystal.
Crystal is weird. She’s so fucking weird, but she’s funny and kind and smells really nice and is super cute out of drag. I don’t know where I’m going with this. We just had an instant connection, and I think it’ll be a nice thing to have in a situation like this.
July 25th 2019
Holy shit. The first episode is done. I’m so fucking tired. And I fucking crushed it, oh my god. I didn’t expect anything less, of course. This is a sign for how the competition’s gonna be for me, I just know it.
But anyways.
Crystal told a joke during dinner that made me shoot water out of my nose. Nicky called me a sprinkler for the rest of the night, so fuck her. Besides, Crystal said it was cute. I know, I’m sounding like I have a crush on her, but I don’t. I just appreciate being around her, we get along well. So let me reiterate: I do not have a crush on Crystal.
July 26th 2019
I have a crush on Crystal.
They’re filming the other premiere today and we had some time to sneak away. I don’t know who she got weed from, but I owe them my life. We shared a joint and whenever she had it I just… stared at her. I don’t know how to explain it – she looked all glowy in the sunlight. Her hair – that fucking mullet – looked so soft and shiny, she looked like art.
I hate her. I want to hold her dumb hand and kiss her stupid face.
July 29th 2019
Crystal has a boyfriend. Of course she has a fucking boyfriend. Why wouldn’t she? There’s probably like, six other gay guys in Springfield and I bet they all want her. This is why I don’t do crushes. Crushes are bullshit. This is bullshit.
But… she held my hand in the van today. That was nice.
Fuck.
July 30th 2019
I kinda avoided Crystal on set today. I felt bad but it just made me sad and that’s not something I’m gonna deal with. I think Jackie suspects something’s up though. Her mama bear senses are tingling, I just know it. I thought it’d be annoying, but it’s nice having someone older and wiser keeping an eye on me.
Oh my god, Jackie’s my babysitter. Maybe I should talk to her about Crystal. I feel like she’d listen. She’ll probably try too hard to help, like it’s a puzzle that she needs to solve, but if I have to tell someone, it’d be her. And maybe it’ll make me miss Crystal a little less.
July 31st 2019
I was wrong, Jackie’s not my babysitter, she’s my mom. Not in a bad way, because obviously my mom’s the best, but in that she got very invested in the Crystal situation in the same way my mom always likes to hear about whatever guy I’m dating.
The good news is that Crystal’s relationship is open. I mean, that is good news, right? It feels like it should be, and my heart wants to latch onto the fact that I could have her in some capacity. Having her in any capacity almost feels like it’d be enough, at least for now.
She asked me if something was wrong, said I seemed ‘distant’. What was I supposed to do, tell her the truth? That’s ridiculous. I just apologized and said I was dealing with migraines. She offered to smoke me out next time she gets her hands on anything. And I know I’m not gonna be able to say no to her, there’s no point in even trying.
August 5th 2019
I think Crystal knows I like her. The energy between us has shifted and it… feels kinda good. She’s more touchy, more giggly. I think she even flirted with me today. I don’t know if she figured it out on her own, or if Jackie told her, but she’s onto me.
The thing is, I don’t know what to do about it. Yes, she’s in an open relationship, so it’s ‘technically’ okay, but it’s not the same. I don’t have anything against it, but… I don’t know, maybe I’m just selfish and want Crystal all to myself.
I feel guilty, then I feel stupid for feeling guilty, because I know I don’t need to be. Make it make sense.
August 6th 2019
If Jackie tells me one more time that I ‘need to talk to Crystal about my feelings’, I’m gonna blow up her spot about all those not-so-platonic gazes she keeps directing at a certain singing queen. She thinks I haven’t noticed, but she’s not subtle either. I wouldn’t do it on camera, though. That’d get too messy.
Besides, I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to explaining how I feel anyway. I don’t like explaining myself and I don’t like all that ‘bare your soul’ type of emotional intimacy. All I know is that I want Crystal in every way you can want someone. But that doesn’t seem like enough to say. Like, if I’m gonna spill my guts, I’d have to go all out. And I don’t want to do that. So. I’m gonna stay quiet and wait for this to blow over, like a normal person.
August 9th 2019
Crystal kissed me.
We were in the back of the van. I was talking about… I don’t even remember what I was talking about, but out of nowhere, she just kisses me, like it was normal, like it was the easiest thing in the world. It was soft, gentle, but with this little hint of desire that still has me hot under the collar.
And I didn’t know what to say. What the fuck was I supposed to say? I asked, “what was that for?” And she just smiled and said “you look really pretty and I wanted to.”
I wish I could’ve said something smart and funny, or flirt and bat my lashes. But no, that’s Gigi’s confidence and attitude. This was all Sam, an idiot whose brain short-circuited after one kiss. “Oh, thanks,” was all I said and I’m gonna be kicking myself for it until I’m dead. And right now, I’m hoping that’s soon.
August 12th 2019
I kissed Crystal this time. I needed to gain some semblance of control here. She seemed surprised, but also kind of relieved. Had she been worried I was mad or freaked out? Funny enough, her being relieved made me feel relieved too. I think we’re on the same page now. I don’t know what this means for us now, but I feel like it means something.
August 13th 2019
The good news is I’ve got Jackie off my back for now. The bad news is it’s because her girlfriend is probably planning my murder. I mean, at the end of the day, a win is a win. But the bruise I had on my ass for a week is a poignant reminder that Jan was a jock who could snap me in half if she wanted to.
Which is also weirdly hot? I can see why Jackie’s ‘secretly’ pining for her and shit. Or maybe I’m getting too lonely and need to get Crystal’s mouth on me again. Not even in a dirty way, though that mental image sure is nice…
August 14th 2019
Maybe I thought about that mental image too much, because I had a sex dream about Crystal last night, like, a hot one.
We were in the werkroom, the only ones in there, and Crystal’s sitting up on one of the tables, I’m standing in between his legs and we’re making out. Then it’s kinda blurry, but next, we’re both naked and I have him bent over the table. And I can remember pulling his hair and listening to him moan while I fuck him. It felt real, and I haven’t had a wet dream since high school.
I just hope it doesn’t affect me when I get on set, I can’t afford to lose focus because I’m too busy thinking about jumping Crystal’s bones.
August 19th 2019
So… I guess in a way, I manifested more physical intimacy between Crystal and I. I was telling him how I was all stressed and wound up after not doing well in the last challenge, and that I don’t think I did well with this one, and he’s quiet for a moment, then goes “let me help you feel better.”
And I’m just like, okay? I didn’t know what to expect, but then he takes his jacket off and puts it over my lap and… I’m perplexed. I’m intrigued. I’m aroused. Even when he’s undoing my jeans, I’m thinking, ‘there’s no way he’s actually gonna do this, right?’ But the only person that keeps an eye on us in the van is Jackie, and he’s got his own problems to worry about.
Long story short, Crystal jerked me off in the back of the van. It was hotter than I thought it’d be – I guess having to stay quiet because four other queens and a PA could’ve caught us adds an extra thrill. Of course, I would’ve returned the favor if we’d had time. Next time, though. Next time.
August 21st 2019
‘Next time’ did happen, and it came back to bite me on the ass. I didn’t think people really had Freudian slips until the way I said “we’re fucking in the top six” in Untucked. It didn’t help that Crystal had this smirky grin. Ugh, I could’ve died.
I feel like everyone knows, honestly. That they’re just not saying anything to be polite. I’m sure once this is all over, I’ll never hear the end of it, though.
August 24th 2019
I think I’m in love with Crystal. I knew I loved her, admired her, but… it’s more than that. And I think I’ve known for a while, but I haven’t been able to articulate it. Because it feels so different from anything I’ve ever felt before. Crystal is so different from anyone I’ve ever met before.
I don’t know what this means for us when this is all over. It’s not like I expect her to leave her boyfriend and move in with me here in LA. But I wouldn’t say no to that either, you know? Right now I feel selfish, that I just want her all to myself. But maybe I’m just sad that come Monday, it’ll be the last chunk of time we’ll have together for a while.
It’s barely been over a month and I already can’t picture my world without her. And… yeah, I’m in love with her.
August 29th 2019
Crystal and I had one day together before he had to go back home, and we made the most of it. We did the cute shit like go out to eat and take a walk, but I also got to take him back to my apartment and fuck him like I wanted to since day one.
I don’t know what this means for us, now. He’s back in Missouri, getting ready for the next Get Dusted show. I’m here, still in full drag after a photoshoot. I guess this is ‘back to normal’, but I don’t know how anything is ever going to feel normal again.
October 18th 2019
Filming Drag Race feels worlds away now, it’s weird being too busy to write most of the time. But by the same hand, it’s nice to always be occupied, lord knows I need it.
I still talk to Crystal every day, either through text or calls or FaceTime. It’s nice to be reassured he thinks of me as much as I think of him. When I’m alone, I start to worry that maybe this was one-sided. But I don’t need to say that to him, he can tell when I feel weird and talks me down without even trying.
The thing is, I’ve always felt the most beautiful when I am Gigi, like it’s the best representation of who I am. But Crystal makes me feel beautiful even when I just woke up and he’s listening to me complain about greasy skin. I didn’t really think about something like that, about letting someone else make me feel the way I thought I could only do for myself.
Crystal is just that special.
November 2nd 2019
Crystal told me he’s in love with me for the first time. I knew, I think I knew, but I didn’t realize how much it would mean to finally hear it. I cried, and I couldn’t even be embarrassed about it.
What was funny to me was when Crystal apologized. He said he’d known for so long, and felt guilty that he kept waiting to say it. He told me he didn’t think he could give me what he wanted because he wants to stay in Missouri. I told him I don’t care how far apart we are, or who he was with.
We have something special. I don’t care what it is, we’ll make it work. And besides, the promo shoot is just two months away.
January 4th 2020
I can’t even begin to explain how good it feels to be back with the cast. Obviously I’m thrilled to see Crystal, but all of us together just makes me feel whole. Jackie asked me how things with Crystal are, I said they couldn’t be better. I asked how things with Jan are, she said there are ‘a lot of question marks’.
Compared to them, my relationship with Crystal really isn’t that complicated. We love each other, we don’t need to put a label on that. I don’t know what’s going to happen when the show airs, but I know I’ll have Crystal. Even when we’re sixteen hundred miles apart.

“Mr Hwang?” Hana asked.
“I prefer Richard.” He answered, smiling.
“I thought she was dead.” You said, looking at the girl on his right.
“She was but then I got her turned.” Mr. Hwang, or should you say Richard said. With that, you looked at your hand, which was still holding Jaemin’s.
You looked at the tear and tried your best to understand this whole situation. Did he just turn your humanity on for you? That’s when his words started playing in your head.
“..., Everything I like about me, is you. You made me a better person, you made me believe in love again. I want to do the same for you,.......I love you, more than you will ever know. I will always cherish our moments together,.......it’s because I love you that I can’t be selfish with you, so I need you to realize, there is someone out there that can not only save you, but help you save all of us.”
“The school might be magic, but so is love, right? And anybody capable of love, is capable of being saved. True love will triumph in the end,.....let true love save the day,.....” The words replayed in your head.
That’s when you realized what you were doing, what was actually happening. You weren’t responsible for anyone’s death, she died because she was sent to be killed by you.
There was no reason to feel guilty, no reason for your humanity to be turned off but most importantly, no reason why the whole werewolves race had to die.
“Mr. Hw-Richard, there’s no reason to do thi-” “Yes, there is, child. You see, werewolves are useless, their existence is probably god’s way to spite us all d-” Richard cut Renjun off but before he could finish his sentence, you did the same to gim.
“Weren’t werewolves around before vampires?” You asked and felt your hand being squeezed lightly.
“Y/N?” You heard Jaemin ask, to which you replied by turning to face him and smiling.
“You’re back?” He asked, the happiness in his voice increasing.
“All thanks to you, Jaemin.” You said, smiling at him before seeing a single tear roll down his cheek.
“Aww, so sweet, but that won’t stop me.” Richard said, rolling his eyes. “I can end you all if I wanted to.” He added “What did you need me for then?” Haechan asked, raising his hand before Richard compelled him to stop.
“Oh please, who’s next?” He asked.
“Another vampire?” he asked, looking at Chenle.
“A werewolf?” He asked, looking at Jisung.
“Possibly a witch?” he asked, looking at Renjun.
“Why not try all three?” You asked, using your super speed to take the dagger from one of the shelves and stab him with it.
The dagger wasn’t to harm Richard, it was just to put him in a deep sleep, until you figured out what to do about him, knowing any offensive magic wouldn’t be the answer, especially not after the shocking events that happened in such a short time.
You knew you couldn’t actually kill him anyway, and it’s not like he was dead either, he could come back to life if you pulled the dagger out.
Once you successfully took him down, you felt a pair of hands on your waist, pulling you into a hug.
“So, true love really does save the day” Jaemin commented, looking at you with love in his eyes.
“Pretty much.” You said, looking at him the same way.
“Guys, hate to break up a cute moment here, but um, Haechan?” Renjun asked “and the other werewolves?” Minsoo asked.
“I’ll go to the werewolves.” Jeno said, Jisung and Chenle soon following after him.
“Let’s hope we can siphon the dark magic out of him, yeah? Anyone have anything they won’t miss?” Minsoo asked as the girl stepped forward, handing him her ring.
“Ah good choice.” Minsoo said, smiling at her before placing it in Haechan’s hand. “Who says I want my dark magic gone?” Haechan asked.
“Me.” Renjun said as he placed his hand on Haechan’s shoulder. “It’s for the best and you know it.” He added as Haechan sighed.
And with that, the events of that day are still a blur, not only to you, but to the others. Later on, you found out the girl was actually being compelled by the ring she gave Minsoo.
The ring they destroyed, and with it, all traces of Haechan’s dark magic, besides the front entrance, it was still being rebuilt as we speak. You also found out that she was actually really nice and that her name was Hyejoo, but she went by Olivia.
“Ready for our first date after you saved the world, darling?” Jaemin asked, leaning on the door frame.
“Just give me a second and I didn’t save the world.” You said as you brushed the last piece of hair into place.
You look amazing, like always. And yes, we did, you did, but I did help.” He said, chuckling and wrapping a hand around your waist.
“I love you.” He said before kissing your forehead.
“I love you too.” You said back as you dragged his face closer to kiss him.
True love will triumph in the end and maybe, platonic love like Renjun’s love for Haechan, family love like Minsoo’s love for Jisoo,  romantic love like your love for Jaemin, maybe, just maybe, all types of love save the day at the end, because even if this school is magic, so is love, right?
a/n: why do i feel like this wasn’t a good enough ending :( But anyway, I do hope you all like it anyway and I thank all of you for sticking around and following this story, for showing it love and supporting it! My first series is finished...I might be a bit emotional rn haha. I can’t thank you enough for reading and I really do hope you like it! (also there’s something special hidden in this finale, I wanna see how many of you figure it out haha)

The truth is Il didn't want to kill SW out of mercy or any guilt, it's not his kindness at all. He in fact wanted it to happen like that. See he himself told that Kashi prophesied it. And remember she told that fate can't be changed and yona will gather the dragons. If we emphasize a lil bit on this fact, it seems pretty clear. If SW didn't kill him, would yona have to go out of the castle and seek for the dragons? Nope. And if she was trained for her future, she would have been more dependent on herself rather than feeling helpless to seek dragons help. So basically Il did everything on purpose to fulfill the prophecy. Otherwise why did Kashi told Il about SW killing him? Did it change anything but actually lead to supposed outcome? What's she trying to accomplish by doing that? Also her desperately visiting Yon-hi even though she knew there's danger, she wasn't even that close to her to take such risk. All this make her intentions very suspicious. And I do believe that if Kashi hadn't prophesied about SW, Il would have definitely killed him after reading the dairy, since it would danger him and his godly daughter. After all he didn't consider for a bit to kill Yu-hon for revenge, why would he spare SW's life, the one he loathed so much without any valid reason?
I agree that King Il did not spare Soo Won out of any mercy...
1. Soo Won is an 18 year old man that is far taller and most likely far stronger than King Il. Above else, he is trained in combat.
How likely would it have been for the over 50 year old King Il to win the fight?
=> I would say, next to zero.
However it was still quite good from King Il not to fight against Soo Won. Instead of admitting defeat...King Il was on a far higher moral ground...at least in his own opinion. Just look...He does not even defend himself!
I say it like this, because King Il has never wasted one shred of sympathy for Soo Won...So it has never been out of concern for Soo Won and honestly...when I remember the part in chapter one, where he pretends that he does not wish for Soo Won´s misery...I start to laugh...
2. I do think that King Il felt guilty regarding his brother..
King Il believed until after the murder of Yu hon that his brother would mock him...After reading the diary... a world must have broken down for him...
Because Yu hon did in fact love him and not despise him. I guess this might be the reason, why he fantasizes later about his dead brother whom he had killed mercilessly.
I do guess therefore he adds this scene later...
Tumblr media
I don´t think that he has interpreted Yu hon´s words as “concern”...but as “mocking him”...
King Il tells us here that he still perceives his brother as conceited and as somebody that would judge people...which resembles the “mock him” of previous years...
Tumblr media
“So basically Il did everything on purpose to fulfill the prophecy. “
I doubt it. I really read the letter of King Il as self-deception. King Il fulfilled the prophecy because he was King Il...a passive-aggressive person that got rid of his brother, because he did honestly believe that Yu hon would look down on him...If you actually read their conversation from start to finish...then it was never about Kashi...It was about King Il running away...and killing the only person that could have protected him...
The second time that King Il really got aggressive, since the anger and pain had been bottled up quite a bit till this time, he killed his brother.
And after he had read the diary...I am sure that King Il felt guilty at least considering Yu hon...even if he could not admit it!
He chose not to defend himself...Exactly like his brother! If he was really completely convinced that he had acted rightfully, he might had tried to defend himself...Maybe...Though I agree, we cannot be sure regarding that.
“Also her desperately visiting Yon-hi even though she knew there's danger, she wasn't even that close to her to take such risk. All this make her intentions very suspicious.”
I agree. I doubt Kashi´s intentions as well. We know so less about her, that I cannot say if she honestly believed in fate or if she not wished for revenge...
“And I do believe that if Kashi hadn't prophesied about SW, Il would have definitely killed him after reading the dairy, since it would danger him and his godly daughter. After all he didn't consider for a bit to kill Yu-hon for revenge, why would he spare SW's life, the one he loathed so much without any valid reason?”
King Il loathed his nephew precisely because he knew for 18 years that Soo Won would kill him. He was so obsessed with the prophecy, that he did not even doubt it for one moment.
Because you can turn it like you will...King Il brought doom on himself due to his own actions and not because Soo Won would wish to kill him for no apparent reason.
You can express it like this: Because of King Il´s and Kashi´s strong belief in fate, the prophecies became true.
Without the strong belief...King Il might have started to like Soo Won who was a kind and selfless child. Maybe he would have had even felt pity since he looked rather weak...just like King Il himself...
Without her spouting prophecies...Kashi would have been just a former shrine maiden and maybe she would have not been killed or died.

Okay, so this is the story I was talking about earlier!
PROLOGUE:
What did I ever do to deserve this.
I don’t want it to end this way.
I’ve had a horrible life. I just wanted something nice for once. I was going to start a family.
I don’t wanna die.
I don’t wanna die.
I don’t wanna die.
I don’t wanna die.
I don’t wanna die.
I don’t wanna die.
I don’t wanna die.
I don’t wanna die.
No… NO! NO PLEASE NO!
LET ME LIVE!
CHAPTER 1:
“He was found dead, in an alley. He had a hole in his chest and you could see his heart, which had been stabbed. The machete was left behind, you’ll have to go check for anything else that could’ve been left behind.” I don’t wanna go. I was drinking last night and I have a huge hangover. But, work is work, I’ll have to go. “Alright, Miss. Thank you for informing me.”
My name is Alan Brooks. I’m a detective. This case is about the death of a wealthy man  ,Jackson McBriant.
The second I got to the crime scene I had to look to the side so I wouldn’t vomit. The victim’s chest was ripped open, his heart was perfectly visible. I was not ready. Now that I think of it, this could be symbolism. From all my experience, this would be very uncommonly not symbolism.
It’s his heart. And it is very literally “broken”. Could this be… He might’ve rejected someone.
That someone could have killed him.
CHAPTER 2:
“Sir, we gathered a few suspects that are close to him. There’s also a witness who heard the screams and went to check the alley.”
“Thank you, please bring the witness here.”
“Of course.”
The witness was a middle aged-man, looked quite normal. No distinguishing features.
“ Hello Mr Rees, pleasure meeting you.” Not really.
“Same here.”
“So, what did you see or hear happen?”
“I...I was walking home, it was around 11 at night. I suddenly heard a blood-curdling scream. I was stuck in place for a second. It was coming from the alley (no sh*t) and I saw the killer. They were pretty tall and were wearing all black. I couldn’t see their hair. They realised I was there and dropped the weapon and ran at an inhumane speed. I fell to the floor and when I looked back, they were gone.”
“ Interesting, is there anything else? Did you hear their voice? Is there any way to know if they were male or female?”
“ No, they hid everything perfectly and not a single sound came from them.”
“ Alright, thank you for the information. You are free to leave.”
“ Okay. Goodbye”
CHAPTER 3:
The suspects were 5 people but ,thanks to the witness, there are now three. Two men and one woman. One of them is the victim’s brother, he is an anti-social man and only ever spoke to his brother. His name is Jonathan McBriant. He looked devastated when the news got to him.
The second man was the victim’s boyfriend. He had a horrified look on his face and could barely keep himself together. His name is Royall Whittaker. The last subject is a woman. She had been rejected by the victim and never forgave him. Her name is Annabelle Leroy. She looked confused and a bit… glad that he had died.
They were all interrogated about where they when the crime took place.
His brother was at home, sleeping. This was confirmed by his neighbours.
His boyfriend was at work, he had to work late.
Annabelle was at work too, this was confirmed by her boss.
CHAPTER 4:
“I’m sorry, I can’t go today. I’m in the middle of an important investigation. I have a lot of work to do. Bye.” My friend was calling, what a bother. Does he think I don’t have a life apart from drinking with him? Well, it’s time to go to the victim’s home to see if anything could indicate who killed him.
When we arrived, it looked… abandoned. Even though the victim had been living there for quite some time now, it looked sad and lonely. It was very clean and had no sign of disruptions. In his bedroom, I found a small pouch. It was full to the brim of a white substance. Could this be cocaine? I smirked. Even this guy, who tried so hard to be a man of respect and no wrong-doings had his secrets.
One of the cupboards was locked, all the others weren’t. They didn’t have anything interesting inside them. Why is this one locked? Would there be more drugs? A gun?
Surprisingly, there was an old looking book. I opened it. It's a diary. I started reading a bit. I’ll have to take it with me and fully examine it.
When I finished reading it, I was surprised. He had led a horrible life in his childhood. But that wasn’t what surprised me the most. His brother, according to the diary, had been very distant  these past months. He had been the most distant ever, on the night before his murder.
CHAPTER 5:
“I’ll have to go question Jonathan over the reason they were so distant all of a sudden. Is that okay with you, Miss?” I can’t wait until that old hag dies and stops being so controlling over what I can and can’t do in this investigation. “ Alright, but tell me when you finished.” I nodded.
“ Could you care to explain why you were so distant from your brother these past months?”
“ How do YOU know that, Mr Detective?”
“ Don’t answer my questions with more questions, McBriant. Why.Were.You.So.Distant?”
“ We had a small fight and didn’t make up. I regret not making up now.”
“ It didn’t say anything about that in his diary.”
“ He has a diary? Why wouldn’t he tell me that he had a diary?”
“ Look, everybody has their personal lives and he didn’t have to say anything about that to you.”
“ But he’s my brother! We used to tell eachother everything! I can’t believe this, why would he-”
“ Look, McBriant. That isn’t important now. Your brother is DEAD. You have to cooperate in this or the killer will NOT be found and justice WON'T be served. Do you understand?”
“ Yes… But, I feel betrayed and alone and… can I have a break outside? I really cannot answer any questions in this state of mind.”
“ Sure, I guess. Don’t take too long.”
“ Thanks.”
The audacity of this little brat. How dare he try to make that discussion all about HIM?! If he won’t cooperate in the investigation, I’ll declare him as guilty and let him rot in jail!
“ I’m back. Sorry for the wait.” Jonathan ran in and quickly sat down.
“ It’s no problem.” It is a problem. A huge problem and I am annoyed to say the least.
About an hour later, I finished asking him everything needed. He was being very irritating and making me very hot-headed. He barely helped and I am sure that he is hiding something. “ Well, I’ll be leaving now. Goodbye.”
“ Goodbye, McBriant.” As he went outside, he brushed my shoulder.
He. Brushed. My. Shoulder.
This kid has brushed MY shoulder. There was enough space for him to NOT touch me. He has been annoying me all day. He did NOT cooperate with me almost at all, and he says he was sad because his brother died?! If he was actually sad, he would be helping me ! I can’t take this. I turned around, looked him straight in the eyes and punched him square in the face as hard as possible. “ Hey, what the hell was that for?!?”
“ You haven’t been of any help ALL day and have the AUDACITY to brush my shoulder, like I was nothing! You’ve been annoying all day!” Wow. He looks angry. “ Well what are you gonna do McBriant? Continue on you merry way? Or punch me too? Come on, I dare you. I swear to God that you’re too much of a wuss to do tha-” An excruciating pain erupted in the left side of my face. I looked up at him. “ Why you little-” I kicked him in the stomach and he was left without breath for a second. He looked back up at me. I froze. There was something in the way he looked at me. It made me want to hide in the corner and not look into the outside world ever again, in fear that I would see that thing again. I felt like a mouse quivering in fear whilst a huge anaconda was about to kill and eat me. It was terrifying. He pushed me to the floor and started stomping my stomach and face over and over again.
Those horrifying eyes were the last thing I saw before I passed out.
CHAPTER 6:
“ What were you thinking? Why would you fight one of the suspects in the middle of an investigation?” I shrugged.
“ It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a good fight. I was annoyed at him and he wouldn’t stop messing around with me.”
“ You have to improve your childish behaviour. It feels like I’m talking to a pathetic child. Until then, you can’t continue with this investigation. Goodbye, Detective.”
“ Wait, what? You have to be kidding me!”
“ This isn’t a joke, Brooks. Leave now.”
“ Fine, screw all of you! You need me to finish this! I’m the only one capable of doing this!”
“ If you are speaking the truth, Brooks. Then it shall be that way. You will have to become a functioning adult, then you can continue with this.” She opened the door for me and I had no remedy but to go.
This is pathetic. How could I be treated as a mere child? I’m older than that woman! She shouldn’t be treating me this way! I’ll wait a week, then I’ll go back.
Maybe I can go drinking with my friend.
CHAPTER 7:
I got to the bar and ordered a beer. Before I got to drink at all, I saw a surprising sight. It was Jonathan McBriant, Annabelle Leroy and Courtney Bailey. That’s strange. They weren’t friends. They didn’t see me. I got up and decided to follow them, before I lost them. They were going to a more secluded part of the bar. Annabelle started talking: “ So gentlemen, how did everything go?” I was very confused. What IS she talking about? My gut tells me that I should record what they are saying. My gut never fails me. I started recording. “ I discovered when the police would go to Jackson’s house and left the pouch full of coke on his bed. They didn’t suspect a thing! They still think that a gang could’ve taken him out! These people are really dumb!” I was surprised. Wasn’t Bailey out of his former gang? I guess he never left… Jonathan started speaking: “ I beat up the detective pretty bad and everybody else in the police department thinks that I was defending myself. Hell no! I was having the time of my life! It was the funniest thing I had seen all week! What about you, Annabelle? What have you done all week?”
“ I have cleared all type of evidence that could point fingers at us being the killers of Jackson McBriant and that means all type of person that could’ve gotten in our way. We will get away with this, gentlemen.” I stopped recording. I got up and left the bar. I didn’t even pay the bill.
When I got home I didn’t even take my clothes off I just jumped on my bed and fell asleep.
Finally, I knew who had done this.
Jackson can rest in peace.
CHAPTER 8:
“ I’m back and I know who killed him!”
“ Weren’t you not allowed to continue the investigation?”
“ Look, Miss. Is it really important now? I know who the killer is. That doesn’t matter anymore!”
“ But-”
“ Shush.”
I showed the recordings to the other people working on the case and we arrested the killers. It will be taken to court and I hope that they are given the necessary amount of years in prison to pay for their crimes.
This was honestly one of my most interesting investigations. It was not because of the victim. It was not because how he was killed. It was not because of the suspects.
It was because of the killer’s eyes. Those cold, ghastly eyes. I have not yet seen eyes as horrid and petrifying as those.
And I hope I never will.
THE END
