HSMTMTS Opinions: Part 2

My first post is surprisingly popular so here I am with part 2! Go read part one if you haven't.

Disclaimer: THESE ARE MY OPINIONS. If we don't have the same opinions, that's fine. DO NOT attack me cause I'm simply stating an opinion. Only doing five this time because it's 1 am in Australia and I should sleep.

Seb should have been in the musical in season 4. I DO NOT care that he was helping out with Craft Services/avoiding Carlos. Joe Serafini was severely underused and admittedly, I was a Seb as Ryan truther. I loved Carlos as Ryan but I really wanted Seb because he would have been so good! I'm happy Seb was even in season 4 but still, I wish he was in the musical.

The HSM4 plotline was poorly executed. It felt like it took up so much time but really didn't do anything. Sure, it gave Gina her movie star plotline, but I'm going to be honest and say that I would have preferred that the HSM4 plotline was cut and we focused on... you know... DEVELOPING JETNEY? JETNEY SCREENTIME?

This season felt like a fanfiction and while it was funny, it felt far too weird. I'm 100% certain that when Jet was rambling about how Mack was "really handsome", I'm very certain that I wrote very similar stuff before. This specific plotline involving MY SEB MATTHEW-SMITH and BIG RED was ripped directly from fanfics too but I will not elaborate on that.

The biphobia this season was just gross. I won't even comment further on it besides that it was gross. FYI, writing a character cheating on their significant other and calling it their "bi-origin story" is just so wrong and I'm shocked that no one saw a problem with this.

Rinas... DO NOT COME FOR ME, but I think Can I Have This Dance was the better Rina duet instead of Maybe This Time. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I like Maybe This Time, but it just doesn't hit as hard as CIHTD. The chemistry was just on fire in the CIHTD scene, also talk about their vocals??? Sofia Wylie truly had me in a chokehold from how beautiful she sounded. Maybe This Time was good as well, but I really only enjoy the chorus and not their individual verses.

I think and that’s my opinion that only engages myself so don’t come for my neck.

The girl (I don’t even remember her name as she is irrelevant) Yenna’s mother , she abused and took advantage of Eli, the guy didn’t even know the basics in life moreover how to make babies, that to prevent babies you have to put on a condom. BUT she knew, she is educated, she knows you have to put on a condom before doing it.

So yeah, for me she took advantage of him since he doesn’t know things, she did things with him not with the idea of being pregnant but eh ! Karma is here.

I mean I know she didn’t forced him that’s not what I’m saying however maybe she saw in him an el dorado (we can say that in English ?) just like Olly Wang seen in him. Eli is the perfect guy to piss off her strict mother since she wouldn’t approve of the relationship and that’s what happened.

I’m open to debate as I said that’s just my opinion but I can listen to others. Maybe I’m too biased because I like Eli as a character but idk I just felt like that’s what happened.

The Hallasholm Helmswoman  (aka Brotherband next generation but make it TRR)

Erak, who's been secretly married with children this whole time, has a precocious granddaughter who wants nothing more than to be a helmsman. If his beloved granddaughter (name tbd) is going to be a helmsman, Erak decides, then by Gorlog, she is going to be trained by the best helmsman around.

However, there is a problem: Hal has retired from his wolfship days since Stefan drowned in a suspicous accident during a trading trip. He now has a depression beard and makes boats in the boatyard, avoiding most social interactions.

Rollond (the new oberjarl) and Edvin (Rollond's advisor) get pressured by Erak to go seek out Hal and convince him to teach Erak's granddaughter before the new brotherband session. They one hundred percent bring up his depression beard and in the end, that is what convinces him.

Hal is initially wary of Erak’s precocious granddaughter, but he is won over by her charming similarities to Erak and her spunky spirit. 

Ulf and Wulf are now like wealthy merchants and upstanding members of society. No one is sure where Jesper is but they're pretty sure he isn't dead. Stig is the captain of his own wolfship and spends most of his time away from town for reasons (aka plot to allow the next generation to shine)

Lydia and Ingvar have a son who is the same age as Erak's precocious granddaughter and they end up in the same brotherband group, but they hate each other until Ingvar and Lydia's punk son learns the value of feminism that somehow wasn't installed in him before now.

Erak's granddaughter faces an uphill battle trying to prove women can captain wolfships too. She's the only girl in the brotherband cohort and she has one singular female friend.

I would say that maybe Lydia teaches the granddaughter how to use an atlatl, but I realized that Erak would probably pass down "ancestral" axes to all his progeny. Erak’s precocious granddaughter of course gets the most unique and special axe.

Svengal gets a one line mention about how he died in his sleep three years ago.
