I really like the “crown is too big so it sits around Danny’s neck, more like a collar than a mark of privilege, symbolizing both his youth and the fact that he is chained to his responsibilities a king rather than made powerful as a tyrant” head canon, but consider: this can also be done with the ring of rage.

Maybe the ring is too big also, and so instead it summons around Danny’s wrist like a shackle- maybe even visually changing slightly to reflect this, or cutting into his skin when he wears it too long. It changes the visual of a ring from power/wealth to one of chains which is powerlessness/ imprisonment, which matches with the crown in this head canon. It also might work symbolically if the ring’s rage affects Danny. It pulls his hand forward to shoot, as if guided by spectral chains, and cuts into him as he resists acting out of the anger the ring inspires.

Ruthlessness is many different people coded, but I'm going off the Fable and Centross coded, and there's one line that is Icarus coded, and then the next line is the Things.

The "what have you done" line in Ruthlessness despite it being out of order of events is Icarus and then the "when does a ripple become a tidal wave" is the Things.

something something forever altered by a force out of your control something something a living idol something something only finding a sense of kinship in the monstrous

so the symbol for charlies side / the shadows is hands, and the symbol for wagstaffs side / the moon is an eye. since wilsons current whole thing is being torn between these two sides, i thought it would be interesting to depict him as having both symbols as a part of his design as opposed to just the shadow arms as per usual

in a similar vein, theres been a shadow chester for years to go along with the shadow side, which has been a part of dont starves lore since nearly the very beginning. now that theres been the lunar side in the past couple years, i think it would be neat if there was a lunar form for chester as well! ^_^ idk what the ability would be but it was fun to design (the colors are the inverted version of shadow chesters colors: light cool gray vs warm dark gray and green-blue paws vs red-orange paws)

also wilsons writing in general has quite a few references to losing an eye(s), i might have missed a few but off the top of head theres:

his survivor skin has a bandage around one eye

his battlecry is “go for the eyes!”

theres a hamlet quote like “i dont want to claw my eyes out anymore!”
