someone posted a while ago abt how a bunch of important scenes in doafp s3 couldve happened at night as a way to symbolize the end of the show and im thinking abt how so much importance was placed on mornings in s1. gabi elena and bobby have a consistent morning routine, which we see in the very first scene of the show, and it would've been an amazing parallel to put more focus on the evening in s3

okay so this post gave me an idea about doafp if it had been continued

okay so in an interview (i can't find it rn) ilana peña said that if there had been a season 3 it would have had a time skip so that elena was in freshman year but tbh i don't like that idea so much bc it ended on the cliffhanger about student rep elections and that should be followed up on and anyway that would have probably been because the cast was older than the characters but i mean the show's been cancelled so that doesn't matter

elena's plot: elena and emilio would have become student rep together. they'd make a great team and elena would learn a lot about letting someone else take control (okay she already learned that in the s2 group project episode but still). her and emilio would start a romance. maybe they'd work out, maybe they'd notice they work better as friends. she'd definitely have more moments with sasha, jessie and melissa.

bobby's plot: dating cj but still having feelings for liam. near the end of the season he'd break up with cj and the season would end with a rain scene fight/confession with liam

gabi's plot: this is what inspired this whole post - at the beginning of the season, her and sam would take a trip just the two of them and cami would look after bobby and elena. on the trip, sam would propose and gabi would have complicated feelings about it. she'd say she needs time to think about it and he'd be hurt but would understand. she then says yes but doesn't know how to tell the kids. she tells cami but tries to keep it a secret from bobby and elena. they would find out accidentally, like in season 1 when they both saw gabi and sam and they wouldn't mind the marriage thing but they, or at least elena, would be hurt she didn't tell them. but they would need some time to process it and they wouldn't be completely okay with it. now i had another idea. and that is that gabi's mom dies. and it's a day before the wedding. so gabi calls the wedding off. and that all happens in the season finale

i think diary of a future president means so much to me as a tv show because i went through basically the exact same thing bobby did. i dated a guy, realized i was a lesbian, had a crush on my best friend whom i thought was straight but wasn't. seeing that story played out on screen helped me accept myself and come to terms with who i was.

i am also like elena; outspoken, a little bit bossy, gets great grades in school. i had a lot of the same struggles she did with her friends and things changing a lot in middle school, and it allowed me to connect with both cañero-reed siblings.

it's truly a shame that it got cancelled and will eventually fade away because people are no longer watching it, because stories like that are so important to so many young people.

I've finally watched finished all 2 seasons of diary of a future president and I HAVE SO MANY EMOTIONS SO IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS SCROLL AWAY

Ok first and foremost, BOBBY IN SEASON 2!!! I DID NOT THINK I COULD LOVE THIS BOY ANYMORE THAN I DID IN SEASON 1 *BUT THEN SEASON 2 HAPPENED* I love his journey with his sexuality so freaking much, I sobbed when he came out to Elena and subsequently teared up everytime he came out to someone else. Simply putting it, I love him and I will protect this precious bean with my life.

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE LOVE TRIANGLE FOR A SECOND??? I'm gonna need cartero stans and cjbobby stans to come on here and tell me why their ship is superior because I CAN'T DECIDE THEY'RE BOTH SO DAMN CUTE!!! Like I went into season 2 being a full-blown cartero stan AND THEN *CJ* CAME INTO THE PICTURE. And just as I was settling into the cjbobby ship bcs they cute cute, S2EP10 HAPPENED. LIKE HELLO? THE FRENCH RESTAURANT "DATE"? THE LOOK BACK? Clearly Liam isn't just an ally, and cartero is looking very much endgame rn, but I don't wanna jinx anyth, and as much as I love cartero I have a soft spot for cjbobby now so pls lemme know what u think.

Oh and of course, we can't forget THE CJBOBBY KISS. Idc if ur a cartero shipper, THAT SHIT WAS CUTE, TOP TIER DISNEY KISS. I will be obsessing over that for days tyvm.

Now let's talk about dear Elena. I love her, and I love her storyline this season. The way it shows how she's growing up, transitioning into teenagehood. I definitely saw abit of my 13 year old self in her, I could really relate to some of the mistakes she made. She's just growing so much as a character, and we love to see it. Also, her frn grp? Girl bosses, absolute girl bosses.

Can I just say that I called Elena and Emilio? As soon as I saw Emilio I KNEW it was gonna be a thing, shipped it right from the start baby. I've never been a big fan of Joey anyway, just didn't get a good vibe from him. Thank god they're not canon. My theory is that next season, Emilio and Elena will both be student reps, and will have to work together which would totally set up their romantic storyline really well.

Gabi and Sam. I love Gabi and Sam. They have such a healthy relationship, full of communication and love. It's the kind of relationship I'd want to have one day. I love how Sam had just been trying to find his space in the family, and finally found it. And not to mention how cool the kids were about it. No toxicity or anything, just love in a healthy household.

I DEMAND WE SEE CAMI AND DANIELLE'S WEDDING NEXT SEASON. I DON'T CARE HOW IT HAPPENS, IT JUST NEEDS TO HAPPEN. NO AND IFS OR BUTS.

Where did Claude go? Like, there was an explanation for Ziggy's departure at least, but Claude was there for an episode or two and poof he's just gone? And especially since the show put so much emphasis on how close Sasha and Claude were, it's a bit strange how he just dipped, even if it's stated that they are still together.

Yeah, I think that about covers everything. I did not expect to love this show as much as I did, but here I am. FINGERS CROSSED FOR A SEASON 3! Now it's time to drown myself in fanfiction while we await the renewal.

guys guys guys i just finished s2 of doafp and i have sooo many thoughts!!!

okay so imma write them all in pointers for convenience. don’t read if you haven’t seen s2.

1. the elections: i think that emilio and elena tied for student rep. the “wait, what?” at the end was probably just elena reacting to the news, since she hadn’t expected it.

2. bobby and his bfs: (i said bfs cause, yk, cartero) so basically i think that bobby isn’t really over liam, but he really likes cj too. sort of like the whole maeve-otis-ola love triangle. and i think in s3 (let’s hope there’s gonna be one) cj is gonna find out that bobby still has feelings for liam and there’s gonna be a whole conflict about that.

3. CAMIELLE/DANILA’S WEDDING: idk what their ship name is cause i’m new to tumblr but dangit we 👏🏽 deserve 👏🏽 a 👏🏽 lesbian 👏🏽 wedding.

4. sam/gabi: i think they’re still gonna be navigating their relationship in s3? cause i mean they had a lot of ~stuff~ happening this season and that’s not likely to just disappear all of a sudden. so uhm yeah.

5. elena x emilio: oh my goddess i want more of emilio!! he’s such a nice guy and i mean, he’s perfect for our little presidenta!! istg if elena and emilio don’t kiss in s3, i’m gonna throw hands.

6. joey feldstien: idky but for reason, i never liked that guy. i mean, i always thought that elena deserves better, someone more like her. i’m so glad she’s over him now.

7. danny and bella?: i think danny’s somehow gonna end up with bella. i mean, she’s prolly break up with her current boyfriend and then danny will sympathize with her or something and she’ll start liking him? idk, i just think that this’ll happen. but then also, they (danny and bella) would break up. sort of like ned and betty from far from home. idk.

that’s all i can think of for now. this season was AMAZING and i can’t wait for s3! :)
