The ringing cracks the silence of your darkened bedroom like a sledgehammer on ice. You push yourself up, still bleary with sleep, one hand fumbling through the gloom for your phone which should be sleeping too, well-behaved and quiet on your nightstand. It takes another second of angry ringing before you realize it’s not your personal phone. It’s the other phone. The one in the top drawer, rattling the items inside of it as it vibrates in time to the ringing, demanding attention. The phone you don’t want to hear going off, especially not in the heart of nighttime.
Sleep evaporates like frost on a sunny morning as you yank the drawer open and grab the small, nondescript black device. Caller unknown. But you know who it is. Only one person has this number.
“Hello?” Your voice is fuzzy with sleep.
“Good evening. Does your store sell copies of fairy tales? I’m looking for Little Red Riding Hood, the Rosenbrand edition. I hear there are only 10 copies left in circulation.”
Your heart sinks. Red Riding Hood means a serious injury, something bloody. Rosenbrand means the flower shop location. Ten copies means be there in 10 minutes.
“I’m afraid you have the wrong number.” The standard response. Your code for I’ll be there.
On the other end, the voice you know to be Nokto’s hangs up and you leap out of bed, changing into dark jeans and a black sweater, yanking open the closet to grab your medical kit and then you’re off, dashing out of your apartment and into the deceptively calm night.
You slip into the dark flower shop via the backdoor and immediately the velvet scent of roses overwhelms you. It is their specialty after all. And their symbol. Anywhere the Rhodolite Mafia goes, roses follow in their wake, their dark red petals scattered across crime scenes like little calling cards. Their members all bear the same rose tattoo on their bodies. You don’t have a tattoo. You’re not a member, officially but you are on their payroll and under their protection. So says the delicate golden rose and chain that hangs around your neck, resting against your heart.
You punch in the security code and a door at the back slides open, revealing a set of cement steps that lead down, down, down until you reach the bottom and step into the large room that the mafia uses for all medical emergencies. Your own private little examination room. And if necessary, OR.
For the second time that night, your heart stops. Laying back on the examination table is the one person whose name flashed through your mind like a neon sign the entire moonlit dash here, the one who you were silently hoping wouldn’t be your patient.
Cyran.
His shirt has been unbuttoned and he has bloodied gauze pressed against his arm, his dark eyes closed as he focuses on keeping pressure on his own wound. Clavis turns, golden eyes bright as an owl’s in the dim light.
“What happened?” Your tone is short, brisk. Every nerve in your body is on high alert as you pull on your latex gloves, moving towards Cyran.
“Blade, not a bullet.” Clavis steps back as you move in, the next steps of assessment as automatic to you as breathing. Cyran’s eyes open, only now aware you are there and you notice the flash of something across his features, some light in the depths of the fog of pain that he’s in. Your name passes his lips, a rough whisper.
“Altercation at the docks. Obsidian thugs thought they would be able to disrupt an important shipment.” Clavis’s phone chirps and he turns away from where you are working, removing Cyran’s shirt, cleaning up the bloody mess so you can get a better idea of what you’re dealing with.
You glance over your shoulder at him, the slight frown on his face as he reads whatever message he’s received.
“You ok, Lelouch?”
He fixes a bright smile on his face, but the light never reaches his eyes.
“I have to go.” No explanation. You are too low on the food chain for those. “Take good care of my right-hand man. I need him back in action soon and in one piece.”
You flick him a two-fingered salute and he nods, knowing Cyran is in good hands. As he jogs up the stairs, you hear him on his phone.
“....On my way, Chev….” The door at the top of the stairs closes with a heavy thunk and you are left alone with somewhat less bloody, very tense Cyran.
His shirt has been cast away, banished to a red and white heap on the floor which you casually kick to one side as you lean in to get a better look at his upper arm, where an ugly gash cuts across his deltoid. Reaching up to adjust the overhead lamp, you open your medical kit and begin the careful process of stitching the taunt skin back together. He hasn’t said a word since Clavis left, stoically staring straight ahead, intensely focused on the concrete wall opposite him.
Your head is bowed down, gaze following the rise and fall of your curved needle, the rational, medical part of your mind tightening its grip on the reins of your imagination. After all, there is an entire landscape of shirtless Cyran laid out in front of you. Curves of hard muscle that dip and bulge, secret places usually hidden by austere suits or leather jackets.
You’re close enough to hear the coarse sound of his inhale as you grip his arm. Clearing your throat you make an attempt to pierce the thick fog of tension that has settled over the room.
“Why is it always blades with you? Other members have the decency to just get shot.”
Your comment is so unexpected and honestly, so intentionally ludicrous that he turns his head involuntarily. Now his face is mere inches away from yours and you can feel his gaze on you as strongly as sunshine on a summer’s morning. And just like the sun, it brings a warmth to your cheeks that you hope he doesn’t notice.
He grunts as you finish suturing the injury, glancing down to take in your handiwork. You straighten up, adjusting your weight on the small padded stool you’ve been sitting on.
“And? Do I pass inspection, Mr. Rose?”
Something about the tone of your voice, an attempt at lightheartedness that skims over the jagged peaks of anxiety, has him finally meet your gaze and the corner of his mouth lifts in a small smile.
“You always do, doc.”
Those words settle across your mind like a silken sheet across a bed. You’re about to pull off your gloves, searching for something to say when you notice the blood staining the top of his gray slacks.
“What’s this…..?” You lean forward, glancing at him for permission to reach into the hem of his pants and take a look. An expression you don’t expect crosses his face: he looks almost sheepish.
“I….I was involved in a scuffle last week.”
You motion for him to lower his pants, trying to ignore what the sight of Cyran’s large, rough hands pulling down his zipper does to your body temperature. He slides his pants down slowly, just low enough for you to be given a tantalizing glimpse of that alluring line where the obliques meet the transversus abdominis muscle.
Medical professionalism trumps lust as you take in the shoddy stitching at his hip.
“What quack did this?” You’re already preparing another needle and thread, brow furrowed in annoyance.
“I did it myself.”
You glance up sharply, hands pausing for a moment.
“Why didn’t you call me?”
You return to the work of fixing his on-the-fly patch job. He’s silent a moment and you wait, knowing he heard you. It takes him until you’re nearly done to answer.
“You know I couldn’t.”
Your work is finished and yet somehow you can’t move you away, one hand resting on the hard plane of his lower stomach, the other pressed lightly under the wound you’ve just finished re-stitching. Slowly you tilt your head up to look at him. He’s backlit by the overhead lamplight, his red hair almost black because of it. Shadow falls across the angles of his face and all you can see clearly is the brightness of his eyes. As if pulled by a magnet, your upper body rises slowly, your face coming closer to his. Carefully, with every other part of you crystallized in place, you remove your gloves, then return your hands to where they were, touching the now warm skin of his body.
Your lips are scant inches apart and your heart slams into your breastbone as if urging you forward to close the gap.
Cyran’s beautiful eyes close and his head turns ever so slightly away from you.
“We can’t.”
The words are tight in a way that tells you he doesn’t want to say them, that he’s forcing them out between clenched teeth.
Still so close, you breathe outward and you know he feels the warmth on his cheek. Your nose brushes his, your lips ache at how close they are to the paradise of his kiss.
“We already have,” you whisper in return, forgetting everything: the phone calls in the dead of night. The hiding in secret rooms tricked out with medical equipment. The heart-stopping anxiety every time you think you hear gunshots. All that you know right now is that he’s here, warm to your touch, so close you can count every individual eyelash.
His eyes flutter open and he meets your gaze.
“And it can never happen again.”
It’s there, in the depths of his soulful eyes. The memory of….
….that night, the one where he escorted you home under a black sky, raging with thunder and pent up clouds. Your skirt was stained with blood that wasn’t yours, your fingers trembling with a fear that definitely was. Your car, several streets away, gasping with bullet holes. Cyran had been there, had whisked you away in an armored vehicle and insisted on seeing you to your apartment, on coming inside and making sure everything was secure.
When he turned to go, every nerve in your body screamed at once at the loss. You launched yourself towards him, a wild bird in flight, and he had welcomed you into the sky of his arms, pulling you against the safety of his hard body. He held you until the trembling stopped.
And then the world exploded as the clouds released their pent-up rain and you had lifted yourself up to press your mouth to his. Cyran pushed his fingers into your hair with a groan, allowing himself to fall, a raindrop from heaven, a soul giving in, into you and your sweetness, your want, your heated kisses.
The wild storm had nothing on the two of you, that night.
You see the way the memory is reaching for you both at once, has you both angling your heads so that only the slightest movement will have your mouths touch once again. Your lips actually hurt with need. Your body practically thrums with the desire to taste him again.
He shifts and suddenly the metal pan holding the needle and thread and gauze clatters to the ground, his thigh having bumped it off the table’s edge. The loud crash shatters the moment and you both jump apart, hearts racing. Cyran clears his throat, his head shaking as if waking himself from a dream. When he speaks, the same words you have heard too many times since that night fall from his lips.
His life is dangerous.
You are already way too involved.
The reality of being with him is nothing but heartache and worry.
You need to remain as innocent and ignorant as possible, for plausibility, deniability, for your own damn safety.
He could never live with himself if anything happened to you…..
The flow of words stops as you press your finger to his lips. A sigh like the storm-buffeted waves of the ocean escapes him, shaky and uninhibited. The touch turns into the kiss you’ve been hungering for, except it's not the crush of his mouth on yours, the stampede of desire come to call, but rather the softest press to your fingertip, the fleeting caress of a butterfly’s wing.
Your heart both sinks and lifts, a paradox of emotion flowing through you.
He turns his face into your hand, his usual stoicism bled out by the force of his feelings for you. Pain, longing, tenderness bow his shoulders, pull kiss after kiss from his lips to your palm. You slide your hand across the line of his cheekbone, thumb stroking the rough stubble there. And then you lean down, pressing a petal-soft kiss to his forehead.
Cyran is still as a winter’s night, frozen despite the thundering of his heart. He knows this is for the best….but how much longer can he continue to do the right thing?
You start to pull away, turning towards the stairs that lead up and away, back into the night and its bright, cold stars, when something clamps around your wrist, stopping you.
You turn to see him, eyes flashing with something hot and bright, his strong fingers wrapped around you, holding you. He whispers your name, an echo of the rough whisper from earlier, when he first realized you were there, and you capitulate, crumbling into the shelter of his embrace even as your mouths seek and find each other.
If not doing this, if not kissing you desperately, touching you, claiming you, if not doing these things is the right thing…..then Cyran is tired of it.
Forget the right thing. He lives a life that blossoms in the shadows of right and wrong anyway. Right and wrong are shades of gray in his world. And now as he drags his mouth down the smooth line of your neck, revels in the sting of your fingernails digging into his shoulder, he knows that he can deny this, and you, no longer.
He sinks into dark temptation, caring for nothing other than right here and now.

We have totally totally never talked about this before but I’m gonna bring it to your asks
Big (dilf? Kind of? Maybe) dom Billy who’s just like the most experienced kinkster ever but refuses to wear clothes that aren’t knitted and has the strongest prescription glasses and refuses to get a phone more modern than the brick
Then Steve who’s like hyper modern party animal and is immediately like “I want him” the moment they meet but keeps trying to drop thirst traps on tiktok and obviously Billy doesn’t even know what tiktok is
It’s a comedy of errors which I love
Oh I do like it. But I think I'm gonna add... Doctor Hargrove and Nurse Harrington into the equation.
Heather was always trying to show him her phone. He didn't necessarily see the appeal, but it was easy enough to just sit through whatever inane video she wanted him to watch. He was tired from a twelve hour shift might as well just let it happen.
Today he was really annoyed because his new t-shirt had a tag and he'd cut it out but he could still feel the scratching even though he'd taken it off hours ago.
"Can it wait until later?" Billy sighed, closing his eyes and resting against the back of her couch.
"No, it cannot wait until later," She tossed her hair to the side, "It's you, Billy."
"Me?" Billy shook his head without even consciously thinking of it, "Like when I texted you to pick up that lube I like?"
"No, and I'm not doing that by the way," Heather's perfectly painted lips quirked up into a smile, "No, it's a video of you."
"Someone took a video of me? What? Is that legal?" Billy leapt for her phone, grunting when she pulled back quickly and he flopped to the couch.
"It was at that grocery store you go to by the hospital that has terrible produce, not like, in your bathroom," She shook her head.
He sighed, "Okay fine."
He fully expects to see some video of him doing something clumsy, but instead it's just him, at a far distance. He's wearing the scrubs he wore on Monday, with the Scotty dogs, and he's still got his stethoscope on, yawning in the bread aisle. The video doesn't show his face, but it's unmistakably Billy, down to his old school digital watch.
A cheery robot voice says, "When you see your work crush outside of work." The video then cuts to a darkened car dashboard.
"I don't even know if I got groceries. I blacked out," A man's voice says with a laugh.
Billy frowns, "What is this?"
"It's tiktok, Billy," She swipes up and it cuts to one of Heather's favorite astrology videos, that she's showed him before.
"Wait, go back to the guy," He asks, grabbing for her phone.
She rolls her eyes, "Okay fine. Like you don't get enough ego boosts at the club with everyone begging you to be their dom."
"This is different. This is, actually me," Billy reaches out but she navigates back to the first video, tapping until another video fills her screen.
"What people think you do as a male nurse," the same cheery robot lady's voice says. A beautiful man fills the screen, wearing scrub bottoms and a silly costume nurse's hat.
"I'm here to take your temperature," The man bends close to the camera, brown eyes sparkling as he shamelessly angles his hairy chest towards Billy.
"Oh no," The man puts his hands to his cheek, "It seems you have sexy sex disease. I guess I'd better..."
He turns, arching his back just a little and Billy's mouth goes dry. beauty marks are scattered across his toned back, and he looks back coyly over his shoulder. The video cuts off.
"What I actually do as a male nurse," The robot voice says. It cuts to the same guy, his pretty fluffy hair a mess under a thick headband. He's got glasses on, and ugly, the Grinch themed scrubs.
"And you say it got stuck up there by accident?" He purses his pretty pink lips and writes something on a clipboard, "Okay, sure."
Billy laughs, "Heather, how do I get to this on my phone."
"Oh my god," She rolls her eyes, "Spare me from the Nokia."
"Well, then, what... how do I see the other videos?"
Heather complains, but as she sets him up on his ancient laptop. He has a tiktok account now, that only follows one thing, NurseStevie.
Heather watches a few more with him and then laughs, "I gotta go meet Barb for dinner. But I'll give you a hint. He works in pediatrics."

Dilf? Chishiya x reader (Hospital AU) [gn!reader] part 2

Chishiya wasn't an idiot. Ofcourse he'd notice the head peeking from around the corner.
He raised his eyebrow at the little girl. Her excited smile confused him. But he took note of the cast on her arm.
"Do you need anything?"
She shook her head, that bright smile remaining. He never was fond of kids. Not even a six year old could melt his cold exterior.
"Will you play with me?"
He frowned at that. He was one of the hospital's top surgeons and doctors, not a babysitter. "Who's your RN? Maybe they'll play with you"
"No!" the sudden stubbornness of the girl caught him off guard.
"Well I'm not playing with you. I have better things to do" he spoke coldly.
She sniffled before full out bursting into tears.
The man was stunned.
Crap.
"Shh,hey hey stop that"
He tried to soothe her but her sobs didn't stop until.. "I'll play with you. Please don't cry"
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
You've known Chishiya for a while. If you had to describe him with one word it'd be apathetic.
So it surprised you to see the man in the pediatrition unit during his break time, playing tea party with one of your patients.
"More tea?"
"Uh sure" he muttered,in a slightly grumpy mood. Chishiya never expected that a kid could persuade him into something so ridiculous but somehow she did.
You cleared your throat, making your presence known. "Well this is just-"
"Don't" he grumbled with a stern look whilst 'drinking' the imaginary tea the kindergardener poured for him.

Attempting to get the doctor AU going.
--
They had met–unofficially–at a conference Alex’s first year out of med school. Alex was poised to give a speech about the effectiveness of intra-aortic balloon pumps in cardiac shock patients, something he had spent months preparing for. He was ready and he was confident. He had been thriving under pressure his whole life and public speaking wasn’t something that ever fazed him.
But something snapped inside of him as he watched more and more people file into the conference hall. He wasn’t in school anymore and these people weren’t his classmates getting ready to listen to his valedictorian speech. They were professionals. They had been in the game for years—they were experts in their fields, and who the fuck was he to show up and act like he could teach them something? They would see right through him. They would think he was a fraud. They would tell him to his face that he couldn’t hack it, all this hard work and sacrifice would have been for nothing.
Alex broke out in a cold sweat, the speech crumpled in his hand as he closed his fist around it, smearing the ink of the words he so carefully thought out.
By the time he made it to the closest men’s room he could barely breathe. His chest was tight and his vision was spotty and he had accepted that he was going to die beside the urinals on the fourth floor of a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.
Eyes closed and head tipped back against the cool tiles behind him, Alex was prepared to meet his maker when the door swung open. Assuming it was the Grim Reaper coming to take him, Alex cracked an eye open and was met not with a specter cloaked in black holding a scythe, but a tall, blond man in a well-cut suit.
A Meet Joe Black scenario, then. He could deal with that.
Alex drew his knees back against his chest and the man dropped to his directly in front of him.
“My name is Henry, I’m a doctor,” he had said and even on his last leg, Alex found the strength to roll his eyes.
“No shit, we all are,” he had wheezed before rattling off his symptoms because fuck if he knew what was happening inside this fogged up brain.
“I believe you’re having a panic attack,” Henry had said and Alex shook his head.
“I don’t get those.”
“That tends to be the case for most people,” Henry started, “until of course they do.”
Henry raised his hands slowly, the intent to reach out for him clear. Alex surprised the both of them when he bridged the gap and wrapped his fingers around Henry’s wrists, not wanting to be touched, but desperately needing it.
Henry, with his perfect hair and blue eyes and calming British accent, talked him through breathing exercises and had him focus on anything but the feeling of dread that had been clawing at his chest.
Slowly, it got easier to breath and his body stopped shaking and he was able to stand on his own two feet again.
Henry had lingered after, handing Alex paper towels to dry his face after he splashed himself with water and nodded his approval as Alex fussed with his hair in the mirror.
Alex never thought to be embarrassed until Alex caught Henry’s eye at the networking event long after the speech was over.
Alex was going to thank him, properly, for saving his ass, but Henry turned abruptly to the man he was standing with (whose maroon suit stood out beautifully against the sea of black and white) and muttered something that made the man look Alex over with an arched brow.
He said something back to Henry who immediately shook his head and walked off and Alex burned.
He still does, given the way Alex’s hackles rise and he needs to bite his tongue every time he sees the man which is, unfortunately, often.

Can't Sleep ~ *Blade*
Tumblr media
Summary: Though Blade can heal on his own, he comes to you looking for a mysterious cure. It's a problem you can't seem to fix. But for him, you're willing to try...
Pairing: Blade X G/N!Reader
Genre: Angstyish Drabble
Word Count: 827
Warning: Blade might be a little OOC? Also I think this feels rushed...
Masterlist
"I heard you've been having trouble sleeping again." You mumble to yourself as you try to busy yourself with the medicine cabinet in front of you.
From behind you, there's a grunt of frustration and you try not to sigh. "Maybe."
"Blade, that's not healthy, and you know it."
"It doesn't matter." He shoots back. "Sleep will find me eventually. It's just being elusive as of right now."
You shake your head before turning to glare at his stoic face. "Blade, I'm serious. You need to sleep. Constantly pushing yourself like this is only going to hurt you in the long run. Forgive me if I actually care about your well-being, but it's kind of my job as a doctor."
"I don't need sleep." His voice is as hard and as cracked as the blade he wields. His words cut your heart the same way a sword would. "If that's all you want to pester me about, may I go now?"
You sighed to yourself. This wasn't healthy. You knew that better than anyone as someone who's devoted their life to medicine and machinery that would prolong a life. However, Blade seemed resistant to all of your attempts to make his life easier. You knew he'd fight you as soon as the Stellaron Hunters chose you to be their doctor. You weren't asking him to stop what he was doing, but dammit, it hurt you to see he didn't care about his health and his life in general.
"Blade..." You try to think of words to tell him that you hated what he was doing to his body and that you wanted to save him. But you were much better at conveying your thoughts and feelings through actions than words. This wasn't going to work, but you were still going to try.
"Doctor." He nodded as he headed towards the door.
"I want to study your sleep habits." Well, that certainly wasn't the way to go about this, but you weren't going to take it back.
"What?"
You nod shyly. "Yeah. I want to see why you're not sleeping well and find a way to fix it."
He bared his teeth as he sneered at you. "No."
"Blade please-"
"No. I'll just tell you why." He snapped before sitting back down. "I have nightmares. Vivid, horrific nightmares that I'd rather not indulge in. So forgive me if I'd rather do my work than relive the past that never seems to settle. Unless you have some magic cure for these nightmares, I don't want to discuss my sleeping habits with you anymore."
You opened and closed your mouth a couple times as you tried to think of what to say to comfort him. You had a problem. You needed to fix it. You always fixed problems. But this was one you couldn't seem to find a solution to. It makes your heart sick with anxiety.
He scoffed at your petrified look. "Just as I suspected. A doctor with no cure. I'm done trying to seek help for a problem that will never go away. I will see you again when I need medical attention you can actually provide."
Again, he made a move to leave but you found yourself grabbing his arm harshly. He glared at you, ready to say something, when he stopped. It was probably due to the tears welling in your eyes, making them glossy and red.
"I'm sorry." You whispered and your voice broke. "I really am sorry I can't think of a way to help you right now. But that doesn't mean I won't try. I am going to try Blade. I promise you, I will find a cure for your nightmares. Some way, somehow, I will find a way so you can sleep again, even if it takes the rest of my life."
"Why?" He spat, but there wasn't the usual bite of frustration behind his words. "Why do you care so much about trying to cure my nightmares?"
"Because you have a problem and it's my job to fix it." You squeeze his hand tight as you avert your gaze. "I can't have a problem I can't fix. I WILL fix this."
He stood there for what felt like a long time. You wanted to say something more, that you wanted to fix it because you cared an awful lot about him and you wanted to prove it by fixing his nightmares. But you were never any good with words. So you hoped that he could sense it in the desperation in your voice. You were going to fix this. You hoped he understood why.
Blade sighed before he took his unoccupied hand and placed it on your head. "Good night, doctor. I hope you have pleasant dreams."
And with that, he left your office. You stood there, still frozen from what had just transpired. But you weren't sad or frustrated anymore. You knew he understood. Now the real work began.

You felt like there was lightning coursing through your veins. Your face was starting to hurt from how intense your smile was. Hell, you were practically skipping down the hallway! You felt like you could do anything right now.
Stopping in front of the elevator, you leaned forward and pressed the button with the small arrow on it. Swinging your arms wildly, as a child would, you glanced up at the red numbers that were slowly coming closer to the one that matched the floor you were currently on. Once it glowed 5, you heard a low ding and the metallic doors slid open to revile a man that did not help eliminate your smile.
“Good afternoon, Dr Reid,” you said, sounding as professional as you could. Gliding into the elevator, you turned around and waited for the doors to close.
“Dr Y/l/n, hello,” he smiled, not taking his eyes off you for one second.
As soon as the doors shut, you felt his hands on you, swiftly turning you to meet his gaze. That little ball of excitement still darted throughout your body, and since the two of you now were completely alone you grabbed a hold of his lab coat, raised yourself up onto your tiptoes and planted one on him.
Not protesting, he simply reached out to press the button that stopped the elevator. The short ringing sound didn’t alarm you, as this wasn’t exactly the first time the two of you had found yourselves in this very situation and it probably wouldn’t be the last.
“Hi,” he pulled away, “you seem happy today.”
“Well, there was this guy who came into the ER with a subdural hematoma and Dr Collins let me do burr holes all by myself,” you beamed, snaking your arms around his neck.
Pulling back, he exclaimed, smile only growing wider, “seriously?”
“Yeah,” you couldn’t help but giggle.
Rushing down to kiss you again he mumbled in between the kisses, “of course he did,” moving from your lips onto your flushed cheek, “because youare an incredible doctor.”
Giggling, you rolled your head to the side, letting his mouth travel down towards your neck.
“You know,” he began, walking you back slowly until your rear hit the wall of the elevator, “the term trepanation derives from the ancient Greek word trypanonbore,” he pressed his hips forward to meet yours.
“Yeah, I bet you’re just dying to bore something into me right now,” you weaved your fingers through the roots of his hair, scratching lightly at the nape of his neck.
Chuckling at your comment, he couldn’t help but continue his infodumping in between his lips dance across your skin, “back in 1865, Ephraim George Squier was in Peru and stayed with this lady called Señora Zentino, who had one of the best collections of art and those kinds of things, but she also had this skull with an unusual hole in it that Squier somehow convinced her to give to him. Now, it’s not like this was the first time a skull like this was discovered, but it was the first time that people didn’t just brush over it and actually tried to find the cause.”
Shutting your eyes, you let yourself enjoy the warm rush his voice shot throughout your body. Let's be honest, the kisses also helped amplify the feeling.
“So, he then travelled up to present it to the New York Academy of Medicine, but they were just a group of men who were convinced that it couldn’t possibly have been done intentionally, or at least not when the person still was alive. They didn’t think that those primitive people were capable of such advanced medical procedures. Now Squier didn’t buy a word of what they said, so he went all the way over to Paris to show it to Paul Broca, and he could quickly tell that the hole was not only done intentionally but also when the patient was still alive.”
“Well, of course, he could see that,” you couldn’t help but interject, “it’s Paul fucking Broca!”
“And after that,” he slipped his fingertips under your shirt and ventured up to meet your lips once more, “it didn’t take long for trepanation to be accepted in the medical community.”
Crashing his lips onto yours, you couldn’t help but let out a tiny moan.
Coming up for air you smirked, running your hands down his body, “speaking of Paul Broca, you make my Broca’s area go all dumb, all of the time… especially when you do that thing with your tongue…”
“Baby, if you don’t already know how much I love that fact about you, I will just have to keep showing you,” he glided his palms down to meet your ass, pulling you even closer to him. Giving you a quick kiss, he then pulled back just enough for him to breathe out, “what are you doing tonight?”
Sticking your tongue out and teasingly giving his lips a quick lick, you answered, “you, hopefully.”
Capturing your lips hungrily one last time, you drew it out as long as you could, but also kept in mind that this was not really the best time or place to bite off more than you could chew.
Nuzzling his nose against yours, he hummed, “fuck, I wish I could just pull you into an on-call room right now and bury my head between your thighs, but I have a surgery in a bit,” pressing his hips against yours one last time, just in case you hadn’t noticed before how much he wanted you.
“Go, save a life, I’ll still be here when you get back.”
With a sharp inhale of breath, he took a step back, admiring the slightly dishevelled state you were in, still flush against the wall.
Tugging your shirt back into your trousers, you slowly regained your breath. Keeping your eyes locked with his, you tightened your ponytail, making sure your hair was all gathered and neat.
“You ready?” he asked, reaching out to press the stop button again in order to make the elevator move once more.
“I am if you are.”
And with that, he pushed the button and you parted ways with the wall. Standing beside one another, you felt his pinky finger brush against yours, but before you could grab a hold of his hand, the doors slid open and his warm presence slipped away.
“Good luck on your surgery Dr Reid,” you called out after him.
Just before the doors could close again, he turned around and smiled, “thank you, Dr Y/l/n, and just to circle back to that thing you told me about? I’m proud of you.”
A smile once again spread across your face as he reminded you of the incredible achievement you made today.

Honestly, if Doctor Mc and all the senior researchers randomly showed up in Gothom, I could see them causing so much crime that they catch the attention of all the Bats, the news, and after seeing the news, the rest of the Justice League’s attention too and then they just disappear and everyone is so confused but also just rolling with it.
What I think they did in Gotham;
•Iceberg set a few different places on fire and there were definitely explosives involved.
•Kondraki fought multiple people in the streets with his sword, and eventually he has a duel with Katana because I said so
•Clef and Jason meet at some point. Clef tries to have a gun duel, but Mc stops it due to them being at Mc’s job
•Gears is babysitting where they can and when he wants to. Everyone is unsettled by Gear's personality since he is always so calm around his “friends” and is very emotionally blank. He also is trying very hard to find a way back home unlike his companions.
•Bright is causing SO MUCH chaos since the “Things Dr Bright Is Not Allowed to Do” isn’t around and the Foundation would never know. (Foundation wonders where he got his new body from and how he died while they were all away, Bright comes up with some weird and uncomfortable reason). Bright also makes so many jokes about being in New Jersey.
•Glass is attempting to keep them all in line in his own way while simultaneously telling them that now that they aren’t in the foundation they should use this time to talk about the said foundation and their feelings towards it (Mc is brutally honest to Glass but none of the others even pay him any mind). Glass desperately trying to get them to talk to him and giving them quick on-the-fly therapy sessions (along with giving strangers therapy sessions) is making him slowly lose his mind.
•Clef and Iceberg both help Mc accidentally kill the Joker (there are explosives, a shotgun, and Mc dying involved) but Clef doesn’t get phased. Mc tries to hide their connection to it and Iceberg is just wondering if they should bury him or set him on fire (and while is more disrespectful to a clown who wants to go out in style). Mc is just going with it and taking up jobs to keep them afloat while Gears finds them a way home and everyone else does illegal activities. Mc pretends not to know them unless they need to.
Mc and gears are like parents lmao

Falling Asteroid ~ *Childe/Tartaglia*
Tumblr media
Summary: He fell from the sky. As a healer, it's your job to take care of his wounds. Of course, he finds you suspicious. But you're not about to let his paranoia get the better of you.
Pairing: Childe/Tartaglis X G/N!Reader
Genre: Angstyish Oneshot
Word Count: 1140
Warning: N/A
Masterlist
A/N: This took a long time to figure out. As much as I like his character, I find him very hard to write for.
There was a loud bang before the sky split in two and the asteroid came hurtling to the ground. You were just watering the flowers in front of your cottage when you felt the ground shake. It was not in your nature to turn a blind eye to something like this. So grabbing your basket full of healing herbs and other medicines, you set out for the crash site of the asteroid.
Turns out, it wasn’t an asteroid at all. It was a person, a man to be more exact. You’d be lying if you didn’t find him extraordinarily handsome. However, you pushed those thoughts to the side. He was injured and you needed to help him.
Carefully, you looked over all of his wounds and tended to the more serious ones before you stood up and sighed. Dusting your hands off, you picked him up so that he was leaning against your back. Holding onto him the best you can, you trudged towards home so he could rest safely. It’s a good thing he decided to fall out of the sky not too far from your cottage.
When you arrived, you put him in your bed and finished addressing the smaller wounds so nothing would get infected. When you were all done, you looked at his sleeping face, studying the small twitches in his facial muscles. He was dreaming, which was a good sign. That means he will survive this fall. You were curious as to what he was dreaming about. You made a mental note to ask when he woke up. For now, you pulled the blanket up to his chin and stoked the fire in the room before leaving him to his rest.
It was three days later when he woke up.
Again, you were watering the flowers outside when you heard a groan coming from inside. Quickly you went inside to find him rubbing the sleep from his eyes. You grabbed a bucket of water and the kettle before putting it over the fire to brew some tea.
“Who are you?” A sharp voice demanded behind you, but you didn’t flinch. “And where is my shirt?”
You glanced behind him to find the man holding the blanket protectively over him. He looked much different when he was awake. He didn’t look so young, his eyes betraying years of hardship and paranoia. But it didn’t bother you. You’ve seen plenty of those people pass through your cottage.
“You fell from the sky.” You replied simply, placing herbs and tea leaves into the boiling water. “You were injured. I just dressed the wounds so they wouldn’t get infected.”
“I don’t appreciate you undressing me without my consent.” He snapped. “Return my belongings so I may leave.”
You shook your head. “You can’t leave now. You’re still recovering from your wounds. Stay for another day or two and then you may be on your way.”
He opened his mouth to argue when you shot him a sharp look that shut him up. You didn’t like being mean to your patients, but you also knew what was best for them. He needed another day to rest and then he may be on his way.
“Don’t worry, I won’t bill you for your time here.” You added before handing him a cup of tea. “Drink this, it will help you rebuild your strength faster.”
He stared at it suspiciously. “How do I know you didn’t poison it?”
You shoved the cup in his hands before getting close to his face. “Listen, Fatui. I greatly resent the insinuation that I would do something as cruel as that. I use my Dendro vision to heal others, not take a life. Now drink it before I force feed you, and believe me, I will show no mercy if I have to.”
The man stared at you a second more before raising the cup to his lips and drinking it down in one go. “How did you know I was Fatui?”
“You are not the first Fatui I’ve healed. I can tell.”
“And you won’t kill me?”
You shook your head. “No. I won’t. But I do ask for one thing as payment.”
His eyes narrowed at you. “What could that be?”
“Something simple. Just your name. It doesn’t even have to be your real name. Just something to call you while you’re here.”
He hesitated before saying. “Childe. You can call me Childe.”
You nodded. “Childe. A pleasure to meet the falling asteroid.”
Childe was not amused by your little joke. “How long have I been out?”
“Three days.”
“I need to go.”
“No, you don’t.” You crossed your arms, as a hard sneer crossed your face. “You will stay in that bed until I tell you you are healed enough to travel. Understand?”
He matched your look of frustration. “I do have other things I need to be doing. Return my things and let me live.”
Your sneer becomes a smirk. “No. Until you are better, I will keep your things under lock and key. Consider yourself my prisoner for the next day or two. You’ll find I’m a rather strict jailer.”
Childe tried to stand up, but the headrush he received from having not been awake for three days forced him back down in bed. He had discarded his blanket, leaving his bandaged chest bare. But you knew better than to stare.
“You are a cruel healer.”
“Cruel but fair. Trust me, I’ve heard about you, Childe.” You sat in a chair opposite him and stared into his eyes. “You are the eleventh Fatui harbinger. You are as strong as you are dangerous. The citizens in the next town over believe you are a threat. So are you?”
“Am I what? A threat?”
“No, the bad guy?” Your smirk grew. “Should I be afraid of you, Childe?”
He paused before giving a teasing smirk. “You should be very afraid.”
You laughed, tossing your head back as you did so. “You’re very amusing. But I find it very hard to be afraid of someone who looks like a child when he sleeps.”
“I do not!”
Shaking your head, you grabbed one of your medical books and cracked it open. “Go to sleep already. The tea should be kicking in by now and as it works its magic, you’ll begin to feel some exhaustion. Don’t worry, I can read you a bedtime story.”
“I am not a child!” He huffed as a yawn overtook him.
“Whatever you say. Now sleep. You’ll be better when you wake up.”
Crawling back under the blanket he glared at you through drooping eyes. “And you’ll return my things to me then?”
“I will. Now sleep, Childe.” You gave him a sweet smile as his eyes slipped close. “You’ll find no nightmare will come for you as you sleep.”

Sooooooo...
Doctor Hargrove and Nurse Harrington...
I think Heather would totally mess with Steve AND with Billy...
I mean, she clearly knows about the Dom thing and would want to make Steve sweat because it's so much fun.
And she'd mess with Billy because he had no idea how to work tiktok.
By the by, what's his username on tiktok?!
Sequel to the doctor au. You don't think Heather would set Billy up on tiktok without remembering his password, do you?
Steve sighed and rubbed his hands over his eyes. He only had a few more reports to do and then he could go home. His phone buzzed in his pocket, and he checked it briefly.
It was a comment from DaddyBillyLovesHeatherXOXO69420. Normally that user stuck to likes, though they'd had one nice exchange where they had recommended that Steve try a new trick for his glasses so they wouldn't fall off after Steve had posted a blooper reel of all his filming.
DaddyBillyLovesHeatherXOXO69420: Hey, you really inspired me so I made my first video. It would make my day if you could watch it @nursestevie
Steve glanced around for the Nurse Manager Heather Holloway or anyone else, but they were short staffed today. He hesitated for only a second more, and clicked on the video. Steve had over 500,000 fans but it would be nice to like someone's first video.
"What I do for my day job." The tiktok lady read proudly over footage of... oh fuck. It was Doctor Hargrove, the gorgeous surgeon that had haunted Steve's dreams ever since he did a consult on one of Steve's three year old patients. The little boy had adored "Doctor Biwwy" and his no nonsense bedside manner and Steve had very much agreed.
The intro to Labrinth's All for Us played through Steve's phone speakers. Doctor Hargrove wasn't looking at the camera, instead it was filmed from far away. Probably so he could fit his impressive shoulder width into the frame.
Steve swallowed, watching as the Dr. Hargrove on his tiny screen rolled up his button down sleeves, exposing a forearm with a hard to see tattoo.
"What I do for fun," The Tiktok lady said just as the beat dropped.
Steve almost dropped his phone, but something in his body let him hold onto it. Doctor Hargrove was naked from the waist up, wearing a black mask, and raising a black leather flogger. His chest rippled. Steve's heart stopped. Doctor Hargrove was in a room with red walls, and then the video cut to the stupid tiktok logo.
"No! Where's the rest of it???" Steve clicked once and then twice, but it just liked the video.
"Problem in here, Steve?" Heather appeared as if by magic at the door.
"No," Steve turned back to the computer, trying to silence his phone with shaky fingers, "Just... something started playing on my phone and I'm trying to get it to turn off."
She hummed, "Ok, finish up your reports and you can head out."
"T-Thanks."

Chishiya x gn!reader [hospital au] part 3
Tumblr media
TW!: mentions of casualties,slight swearing
/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\/ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\
Another long day. Working overtime was a common thing. Especially for a workaholic like Chishiya.
He raised an eyebrow when seeing you. It's 8am,you should've clicked out an hour ago. Then again the same went for him.
But it was different. It just was.
"What're you still doing here?"
"Waiting"
"For who?"
"You"
Your answer caught him off guard. He was even more confused when you offered him half of your sandwich.
"You shouldn't work overtime. As your colleague and superior I prohibit it"
His answer to your kind gesture was just weird to you
"You prohibit it? What are you? my dad?"
He smirked at your amusement, shaking his head. "Do what you want I don't care"
You smirked, taking hold of his arm as you walked alongside him. "Hmm sure you don't"
A silence fell over the room and he couldn't help but stare at you. You looked like an absolute wreck. Everyone did after a 12 hour shift.
But...something about you was still quite pretty to him. Even with your dark underbags and messy hair.
He sighed, supporting your back. You didn't have the best sense of direction, especially when you were tired
"Don't sleep too late"
"I thought you said you didn't care"
"Shut up"
~*~*~*~*~*
A regular morning presented itself on your next shift. Things were actually going quite slow at the hospital but you'd never say it out loud.
You sipped your caramel frappuccino when a familiar voice spoke.
"You know that's very unhealthy right? I heard it contains 420 calories."
"You know where you can shove that info?" You smiled, glancing at him only to be met with an unamused stare as he crossed his arms. "Haha very funny"
"I'm hilarious I know" you grinned, glancing at him before noticing something.
"You drink black coffee?"
Chishiya was confused why you stared at him as if he's just committed a crime.
"Yes. Why?"
"Do you hate yourself?"
He has to surpress a chuckle, shaking his head. "I like enjoying coffee how it's supposed to be. Black" he then glanced at your drink. "At this point you're consuming more sugar than caffeine"
You rolled your eyes at his comment but got an idea. "Wanna swap? We'll see who's right here"
Chishiya was never one to pass up a challenge. "Sure"
And so the cups exchanged and you both took a sip, silent for a moment.
You hated to admit it but he wasn't wrong. The taste was bitter but oddly sweet at the end. It confused you.
The man to your right looked equally as confused. This sweet drink. It was...delicious.
"It tastes like crap" you both said at the same time, glancing at each other.
~*~*~*~*~
The doctor was happy to finally go on his break without having to worry about an unstable patient although his relief turned into confusion when he saw you arguing with someone.
"Shh don't say that!"
Idiots. That's what you were in his eyes.
He sighed, approaching both of you. "Don't say what?"
You turned to him in disbelief. "A person should never say that it's a slow day in a hospital. It's bad luck" you explained
This only made him scoff. How ridiculous. "You don't actually believe that do you? How gullible are you?"
He teased with a slight smirk. "Trust me,nothing's going to go wro-"
"Code orange,code orange,code orange"
The intercom went off, cutting the doctors and med students' break short as they had new patients to attend to. Lots of them
(Code orange: Mass Casualty/CBRNE)
