It’s okay
Possible tw: mentions of death
"C'mon c'mon..." you mumbled not giving up on the patient as you pushed your hands down against his chest however as the machine didn't make the familiar beeping sound you cursed quietly "y/n..." Will spoke concerned but you didn't listen "come on mr Levi, I'm not giving up on you." You said desperately as you continued to pump your hands down against his chest knowing it was no use but it was still worth a try "another epi." You ordered getting a few concerned looks from the nurses "now!" You said watching as they administered the medicine as you continued to do compressions and as the machine continued to beep proving he was deteriorating your heart sank "okay anothe-" however you were cut off "y/n!" Will raised his voice at you ever so slightly snapping you out of it "he's gone." He said solemnly and you looked down checking for a pulse and as everyone kept their eyes on you, you let out a shaky breath
"Time of death 19:24"
Those words were always the worst for you. It hurt. You never liked pronouncing anyone dead but it was life after all. You just wished you could've done more. You took your gloves off throwing them into the bin as you made your way out of the room tears welling in your eyes as you walked past the parents of the patient not being able to look at them as you rushed into the break room sitting down on the couch as you held your face in your hands.
Will was worried for you as you never liked talking and so he rather quickly followed after you hurrying into the break room after you and as he saw you crying his heart broke and he let out a soft quiet sigh as he made his way over to you slowly and carefully. He slowly reached his hand out resting it upon your shoulder "y/n... you couldn't of done anything else. You did what you could." He spoke gently and assuringly but you shook your head "no will. I should've done more." You said and he shook his head "you did enough y/n. This isn't on you." He said softly taking a seat beside you as you teared up trying to remind yourself to split your work life from your personal life however it felt like your lungs were clogging up with water leaving no room for you to breathe as you squeezed your eyes shut tight.
"It's okay."
His voice was soothing to say the least you didn't believe him however. It took time to process and it was still fresh. It was never okay. "No... no it's not. Will he died because of me." You said tears in your eyes and he gently rested his hand on your back "you did all you could. You aren't alone in this... we'll get through this together. I promise." He said as you began to sniffle your chest growing tighter as your hand shakily reached up to cover your mouth as you began to let it all out, his heart aching for you before he pulled you closer to him "let it all out... there you go." He murmured softly your head resting on his chest as tears flowed down your cheeks as he simply held you, staying silent as he let you get it all out his hand gently rubbing up and down your back his fingers delicately drawing patterns into your back to help soothe you.
As you began to calm down he stood up grabbing a glass from the cupboard filling it with some water before sitting back down beside you as he held the glass out to you and as you held onto it your hand trembled and he lightly cupped his hand over yours gazing into your eyes as he smiled gently "careful... easy does it." He said as you took little sips of the water a small smile staying on his lips. "How about we head to Molly's yeah? Get us both a drink or two. On me." He suggested keeping his eyes on you "you deserve a break. You've worked hard today..." he said softly and you shook your head "my shift doesn't finish yet I need to stay on for-" he lightly shut your words down with a soft 'shh' as he sighed gently "I got April to take the rest of your shift" he promised and without another word you quickly wrapped your arms around Will holding onto him tightly as you closed your eyes "thank you... truly." You murmured gently and he nodded smiling "of course... no worries. So about going to Mollys...?" He said suggestively as he smiled and a small smile tugged at your lips as you let out a soft laugh, nodding your head "definitely. I'm so down."
Sorry for how short this one is! But I hope you liked it! Don't forget to send in requests! Thank you for the support! Have a great day!<3

Doctors' Day: Celebrating the Heroes of Healing
Every year on July 1st, we celebrate Doctors' Day to honor and appreciate the invaluable contributions of physicians and healthcare professionals worldwide. This day provides an opportunity to express gratitude and acknowledge the dedication, selflessness, and expertise of those who have dedicated their lives to healing others.
Doctors have been an integral part of society since ancient times, dating back to the era of Hippocrates, often referred to as the father of modern medicine. Their role in safeguarding and promoting health is indispensable, and they play a crucial role in saving lives, alleviating suffering, and enhancing the quality of life for countless individuals.
On Doctors' Day, we remember the sacrifices made by healthcare professionals, particularly during challenging times such as pandemics or natural disasters. These brave souls work tirelessly to combat diseases and provide care, risking their own health to ensure the well-being of patients.
One cannot overlook the years of rigorous education, training, and continuing professional development that doctors undergo to acquire their expertise. They spend long hours studying, attending lectures, participating in clinical rotations, and honing their skills to diagnose and treat medical conditions accurately.
The relationship between a doctor and their patients is built on trust and compassion. Patients share their most vulnerable moments with doctors, placing their lives and well-being in their hands. Doctors not only treat physical ailments but also provide emotional support and comfort, helping patients cope with the challenges that illnesses bring.
The advancements in medical science owe much to the relentless efforts of doctors and researchers. Breakthroughs in treatments, surgical techniques, and medical technologies have revolutionized healthcare and improved patient outcomes. Doctors' Day serves as a reminder of the immense progress made in medicine and the hope for a healthier and brighter future.
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world witnessed the unwavering dedication of healthcare professionals. Doctors, nurses, and all frontline workers demonstrated extraordinary courage in fighting the virus, often putting their own lives on the line to protect others. Their bravery and resilience during these trying times have earned them the title of true heroes.
As we celebrate Doctors' Day, it is essential to recognize the challenges and pressures doctors face daily. Long working hours, emotionally draining situations, and difficult decisions can take a toll on their well-being. It is crucial for society to support and uplift these caregivers, ensuring they have the resources and support necessary to continue their noble work.
On this day, it is customary for people to express their appreciation to doctors by sending cards, flowers, or small gifts. However, the most meaningful gesture we can make is to adhere to a healthy lifestyle, seek medical advice when needed, and follow doctors' recommendations diligently.
In conclusion, Doctors' Day is a special occasion to acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable contributions of doctors and healthcare professionals. Their dedication, expertise, and compassion inspire hope and healing in the lives of countless individuals. Let us take this opportunity to express our gratitude and support for these selfless heroes of healing who make the world a healthier and better place.
