okay so im one of those that genuinely think that aziraphale returned to heaven bc he wanted to make crowley happier. but now im thinking, yes zira's the one who saw how happy crowley was as an angel and how he struggles with being a demon as an identity thing, how much was taken from him (by heaven but that's another thing) along with falling. and we know that azi's completely brainwashed too. but what if, as many says, crowley's memory was affected when he became a demon, and he doesn't actually remember much before the fall.

maybe he just remembers the overall situations and his brain created a new, not real look to all of that. so adding those two' delusions we can think that azi, not seeing or not taking as he should, the toxicity and negativity of heaven but remembering those crowley's happiest moments, is thinking "oh yeah, i need to make him an angel again, fulfilled and happy".

and crowley's, thinking just the other way, knowing damn right how they should be as far as it's possible from heaven, but not remembering his time as an angel. im not saying he should want to become a one again, he'd just partly know why aziraphale after all of it wants to become an archangel. and he'd be able to tell him that he doesn't need nor want it, even without azi saying why he does all of it

something notable about spike in contrast with the rest of the whirlwind is that he clearly appropriates a class lower than him, whereas the rest live more luxuriously as vampires than they did as humans. he was an evidently well off man during victorian era london but adopts a working class accent and aesthetics. his confrontation with angel in “destiny” has him accusing angel of never knowing the real him and making him a monster, while angel claims he let the real him out. I feel what angel said is true- william was restricted by his status and victorian upbringing which is gone once he becomes a vampire. he goes from sentimental poetboy to loving the thrill of fighting. who else loves drinking, brawling, and sex? yes, spike actually starts to resemble liam (who clearly was at a lower class status than william, factored in by their different time periods and locations). true spike does retain some of the aspects he had as a human but it strikes me how much his external persona reminds me of angel as a human (who acted out due to not being able to live to his father’s expectations: spike acting out against victorian ideals)
