hi!! I just wanted to ask about the daemon AU--do you have a headcanon abt when their daemons would settle? or did they just settle after puberty? Did 5's daemon settle before or after the apocolypse?
AH!! this is such a good question.  I’m gonna put a cut after this first bit, though, because I took a simple question and accidentally...wrote a 2k thing that kinda straddles the line between answering your question and being a freeform fic? whoops.
Okay.  So I think all the kids probably settle a little later than normal for most people.  It’s been a while since I read the books, but I recall that most daemons, though not all, settle towards the start of puberty.  I headcanon that trauma is one of the things that can push that process back, and all the Hargreeves kids have that in abundance.  Not to mention that I don’t think isolating your kids from a normal childhood and forcing them into a vigilante lifestyle is exactly helpful for their development.
Luther settles first, a day after their thirteenth birthday.  It happens without much fanfare, while they’re resting at home after a mission.  There’s not much a golden retriever can do on a mission that another animal can’t do just as well or better, and Reginald really emphasizes the utility of their daemons above all else.  But sometimes Luther likes to let Amalthea turn into big, soft things when their dad isn’t looking.  He likes them, even if Diego mocks him relentlessly for it.  And that afternoon Amalthea plops down on his chest and turns into a golden retriever, licking at his chin to comfort him after the verbal excoriation their father had given them after the mission had gone wrong at every possible turn.  It’s a miracle none of them were hurt.  That scares Luther more than anything else.  How close he’d come to failing and getting someone killed.  And they don’t even realize that she’s settled until like an hour later when they’re headed downstairs and Amalthea tries to shift back into a form that their father will find dignified and just...can’t.
Klaus settles next much to everyone’s surprise.  It happens a few months after Luther.  Their father has them locked in the crypt again, and it’s particularly bad tonight.  Klaus can see them everywhere, tearing at his clothes, clawing at his skin, and he can barely breathe.  They go after Cassandra just as eagerly as they do him, but she’s harder to catch.  Suddenly she’s a falcon, an ermine, a rat scuttling through a new hole in the wall that their father must have missed.  And then she’s outside.  Twelve, thirteen feet away maybe, and it pulls at the connection between them, almost to the point of being painful.  Hurts enough to gear Klaus out of his catatonic haze and get him to push through the throng of ghosts just to get a couple feet closer to her.  And then Cassandra is a cicada, fluttering up to the lock.  And then she’s a raccoon, clawing futilely at it with those deft, clever fingers, but unable to work it open without anything to jimmy the lock open with.  Yet she’s also trapped by their bond, unable to venture and look for something to use.  And so she tries to shift back to rat, to get back inside, and just.  Doesn’t.  Can’t.  So Klaus stills his breathing long enough to stumble over to the door of the crypt, pressing his back flat against it and trying to still his breathing.  Cassandra curls up in a small ball in front of the door.  And they stay like that all night, until their father comes to let them out in the morning.
Allison, Diego, and Vanya all settle pretty close together, towards the end of their thirteenth year and the start of their fourteenth.
Allison settles on a mission.  She’s so busy rumoring a bad guy into killing his friends that she doesn’t notice the one behind her until Diego drops to the ground with a muffled cry of pain.  She makes a noise, a hoarse-sounding scream of shock and surprise.  But she’s well-trained enough to wrestle her gut reaction under control quickly.  She whips around, a rumor already on her lips, but before she can say anything Alexander is there.  A flash of muted gold and black, not hulking but still larger than she expects.  He jumps, first onto a table.  The spring inside a loaded gun.  Fifty pounds of coiled muscle and snarling rage.  Then he leaps again, surprisingly agile.  There’s a flash of canine, long and sharp.  The man dies with a gurgle, and when Alexander pads over to Diego’s injured body, licking at their brother’s face with concern, Allison sees that those white teeth are bloody and red.
Diego settles during one of their sneak-outs.  They’re walking along the pier, eating fish tacos they bought from a vendor nearby.  Ben is reading as they walk, flipping pages idly.  He’s not paying attention to where they’re going, though Luther keeps trying to get him to put the book down.  But then Diego had told Luther to lay the fuck off, and that had turned into a whole thing, and Ben’s still reading his book.  If Five were here, there wouldn’t be any concern about it.  He’d had that sort of quiet, watchful way about him, where you knew that even if he wasn’t actively stopping you from doing something, he was still keeping an eye out to make sure it didn’t kill you.  If Five were here, he’d have made them take Vanya.  If Five were here...
But he isn’t.  He’s probably off somewhere, living happily away from their father and from them.  Asshole.  It’s an uncharitable thought, and Guinevere would bite him for it if he said it out loud, but Diego is so caught up in his anger that he doesn’t see Ben walk into the pole until its too late.
Ben swears, hands flying to his face automatically.  Klaus bursts into hysterical laughter.  Allison’s gasps, putting a hand to her mouth.  Ben’s book tumbles out of his hands and into the water, and Guinevere--also laughing--follows it, turning small and furry as she does.  She doesn’t catch it before it gets soaked, but she gets the book in her teeth and paddles over to a small ladder that drops down off the dock.  Ben turns to thank her, but Diego is too distracted to catch what he says.  Diego just settled, he’s pretty sure.  He can feel it in his bones.  He’d kind of been hoping for something that would prove once and for all that he’s better than Luther, but frankly their father isn’t going to be any more pleased with otter than golden retriever.  That’s kind of a bummer.  But when he kneels down to let Guinevere scramble up his arm and around his neck, he can’t really bring himself to care.  She’s Gwen, and he’s Diego, and if their father has anything to say about it?  Well then.  He can go fuck himself.
Vanya settles that winter.  She’s playing her violin in the living room.  Ben is sitting nearby.  They aren’t hanging out, not exactly.  None of her siblings really hang out with her, not since Five, but Ben maybe comes the closest.  Calliope usually takes the form of a cat, winding around Vanya’s ankles as she plays.  She used to turn into a capuchin sometimes, to flip the pages of Vanya’s music, but Io has more or less soured Vanya on monkey daemons these days.  But still.  Things are nice, and today they are in a particularly good mood.  Ben’s company is comforting; it’s nice not to be alone; and Vanya hasn’t missed a single note.  So today, Calliope flutters up onto her shoulder and sings along with her.  And she never changes back.  And when Vanya shyly shows her to their family later, Reginald sniffs, disdainful, having barely spared them a flicker of a glance.  Just a songbird, he says dismissively.  And that is that.
(And later, years and years later, Leonard peers into the veil of Vanya’s hair.
“Is that your daemon?” he asks affably.  He looks unbothered by the way Vanya cringes.  His orb weaver is crawling up the sleeve of his shirt, looking almost like a toy or a strange decorative pin.
“Yeah,” Vanya says.  Cal is a bundle of fluffed-up feathers nestled in the crook of Vanya’s neck.  She huddles in closer at the sight of Leonard’s attention.
“What is she?” Leonard asks, then holds his hands up apologetically.  “I mean, if you don’t mind me asking.”
“Just a songbird.”
“Just a songbird?” Leonard echoes.  He leans in closer.  “Hey, she’s a...great tit, right?  I’ve read about those.”
“Oh?” Vanya asks, bracing herself for whatever is going to come next.  Leonard is a nice guy; she’s sure he means well.  It doesn’t mean that what he says next isn’t going to hurt.
“Yeah,” Leonard smiles at her.  “You’re right.  They are songbirds.  But they’re more than that.”
Vanya pauses, lifts a hand to her hair uncertainly.  She hadn’t expected that.  “What do you mean?”
“Well, I’m surprised your family didn’t ever say anything to you, I have to admit.  They are songbirds, Vanya.  But they’re hunters too,” Harold says.  There’s wonder in his eyes, and when Vanya looks up to meet his gaze, he just smiles.)
Ben, like Luther, settles without much fuss.  Once a week, since they turned ten, they’ve had a designated time to try out new forms for their daemon.  Their father brings out books on zoology.  Gives them specimen after specimen to try.  Ben isn’t quite sure that this is how it’s supposed to work.  All accepted science suggests that settling is half a physical affair and half a mental one.  It’s not just about finding the right shape, it's about state of mind as well.  Amalthea is a golden retriever, but if she had tried that form when Luther was eight, Ben doubts that she would have settled.  But their father doesn’t much seem to care, nor does he seem to understand.  Then again, Io and their father have a dynamic that Ben doesn’t quite get either.  They seem less like human and daemon and more like warden and prison guard.  But maybe that’s just Ben projecting.
Melpomene takes to their father’s training with more courage than Ben does.  His stomach hurts; he wishes that he could go back to bed. This is worse now.  All the others have settled, and Ben’s been doing this part of their training alone for almost a year.  But Mel is braver than Ben is, and she takes the lead.  So they go down the list, while their father watches with those piercing eyes.  Io is perched on the desk, lips drawing back from his teeth whenever Ben so much as twitches a muscle in the wrong direction.
Mel turns into a large octopus.  A cassowary.  A vulture, a great Philippine Eagle, a Sumatran rhino, a spectacled caiman.
And then she stops.  Tries to shift again.
“I’m stuck,” Mel declares, sounding just as surprised as Ben feels.  Their father’s back straightens, and it’s the nearest thing he’s ever given Ben to pride.  He peers over his spectacles.  Nods.
“This is acceptable,” their father says, like there’s any other option.  It’s not like Ben can do anything about it, but he holds his tongue and stares at the floor again.  A predator.  A scary one, not like Guinevere or Amalthea.  Even Alexander is cuddly.  Crocodilians, though, people hate.  This isn’t how Ben wanted his settling to go.  He hadn’t wanted their father to be right.
Ben’s stomach twists.  He feels something nudge against the inner lining of his gut, like it’s trying to escape, and ignores it.
“Dismissed, Number Six,” their father says, and when Ben turns to go his eyes feel wet.
And Five...Ugh.  I’m debating how much of this I want to share, because I actually have this scene written elsewhere?  But Five settles last.  Five settles last by no small margin, not just chronologically, but by age as well.  Five settles late even among other late bloomers.  He settles when he’s eighteen.  Approximately.  It’s hard to keep track of days in the Apocalypse; Five is good with numbers and has a great memory, but it’s been five years by this point and the days are starting to blur, even for him.  The lateness of his settling comes from a combination of trauma, a lack of socialization, and the fact that he is desperately trying to avoid it.  He and Dolores keep a list of forms that they know are safe, forms that she’s taken again and again and hasn’t settled in yet.
Because in the Apocalypse, an unsettled daemon is an incredible asset.  She can be a hawk, fluttering up to a roof to scout for places to salvage.  A wolf, sniffing out supplies.  An elephant, moving rubble and bricks so they can turn what remains of the library’s atrium into a makeshift shelter.  And a bear, warm and hardy.  That form’s kept Five from freezing to death for the past several winters.  But the thing about nature is that it always finds a way.  They can only fight it for so long.  And one night Five wakes up, and Dolores is a snake, and she can’t shift out.  She’s cold, too.  The night temperatures are too much for her now.
I’m sorry, I’m sorry, she says to Five, almost frantic with it.
It’s fine, he tells her as she curls up under his jacket, soaking up the warmth radiating from his chest.  You’re beautiful.  It sounds like a lie.  It kind of feels like one too, even though he means it.
This should be a wonderful thing.  It would have been, under almost any other circumstances.
They do make it, of course.  We know that.  Five is clever and he is determined and he has no choice but to survive.  He will accept no other outcome, and he’s right in that.  They suffer, but they live.  They win and they get back to their family.
In the moment, though, they are just a seventeen-year-old boy and his daemon, entirely alone in a world that doesn’t care whether they live or die, and it mainly feels like a death sentence.
(BUT THEN ALSO THEY ALL REUNITE WHEN FIVE TIME TRAVELS BACK AND BEN COMES BACK TO LIFE SOMEHOW AND LEARNS SELF LOVE AND THEY ALL RECOVER FROM THEIR TRAUMA TOGETHER YEE HAW)

The end of the world was coming, and it was coming faster than you wanted.
When you first found Five in griddy's doughnuts, the world was ending in 8 days, but now the world could end any minute.
While the six Hargreeves children were arguing, (y/n) was actually bowling. Once she tossed the ball down the lane, she turned around and looked at the group.
Klaus looked up from the newspaper he was reading and smiled up at you.
"Not the perfect date you hoped for, (y/n)?" Klaus teases. Five glares at him while Luther and Diego were still talking, or yelling, about where vanya could be. "I never said with you!" Klaus defended himself.
"Look, whatever we decide, we need to find Vanya. And fast, okay? She could be anywhere." Lither said.
"Or here," Klaus finished. Everyone looked at him. He gestured to the newspaper in his hand, "look at this." He moves while the rest of the siblings crowded around him.
"That's right her concert is tonight." Diego commented.
Rolling your eyes, you grabbed your bowling ball when it returned. "You know (y/n), instead of playing your little game, you could help us over here." Five said sarcastically.
"Yeah, well, I hate to intrude but you guys should follow her lead. My manger says if you're not gonna bowl, you gotta leave," an employ came over to say. The older man, who you suppose is the manger, behind her, slams a pair of bowling shoes on the counter.
"Whose turn is it?" you snap to the team, making the teenager leave.
"Oh for..." Luther grumbles, grabbing the ball from your hands and throwing it down a different lane, starring dead at the old man.
"For God sakes, Luther. That was my own personal ball." You yelled.
"Who the hell brings their own bowling ball?" Klaus laughed.
You stomped right over to him and smacked him in the back of the head.
"Me, jackass. I don't even know how to play but none of you losers wanna teach me so, i'm going to over there and grab my-"
"Shut up (y/n)! I'll buy you a new ball." Five interrupts you.
You cross your arms. "Yeah, you better." you mumble and go over to grab a new ball.
You come back to Diego yelling at Lither again and you roll your eyes. Something about their dad, Five then joining in. You toss the ball down the lane once more and sigh.
"You know guys, maybe I can help." Klaus says. You turn around once more, to look at the bunch.
"Now's not the time." Luther argues.
"You never let him speak," you say. "Maybe it's something smart."
"Yeah, let him finish." Diego adds. "He saved my life today."
Everyone looks at the junkie, impressed. Klaus looks behind him real quick. Before looking at Luther.
"Is that true?" The big man says.
"Yeah, yeah, I did take credit for it." Klaus pauses. "But in fact, the real hero is Ben." And then everyone looks at him confused.
"Okay maybe it isn't something smart." You say.
"Today, listen." Klaus moves over in between you and Diego. "Today, he punched me in the face. And earlier at the house, he was the one that saved Deigo's life, not me."
"You're unbelievable Klaus." Lither adds once more.
"You want proof, is that it? All right. I'll give you proof." Klaus looks dead across from him and takes the bowling ball you were using, from the rack. (a/n: I have NO idea what that thing is called. BUT stick with me haha) "All right, show time, baby. Catch!" And he threw the ball, where it hit the floor with a thud. He looked down and grumbled.
"Why, just why my bowling balls!?" you say and sit down next to Five.
"Is there any way to silence that voice in your head that screams out to be the center of attention?" Luther glares.
"You know, I liked you a lot better before you got laid." Klaus snaps. Everyone looks at Luther, eyes wide. "Which was a complete, it-it wasn't his fault, 'cause he was ridiculously high, right? And the girl, she thought he was a furry!" He rambles.
"Stop!" Luther glares once again. Klaus mumbles a silent okay and Luther looks at Allison. "Allison, wait!" And they walk off.
You sigh sinking farther in your seat. "Hey?" Five whispers. You look at him. "How about you grab that ball and i'll teach you how to bowl." You smile and stand straight up getting the pink bowling ball Klaus has previously thrown. You come back to Five and see Diego and Klaus sitting next to each other in silence.
Five slowly makes his way towards the lane, next to you. He opens his mouth to say something, before getting interrupted by a bigger women and a young man.
"Excuse me! Excuse me, it's my son, Kenny's, birthday today, and, uh, wouldn't your children be happier playing with other kids their own age, assuming it's okay with your two dads." The women says. You smile holding back a laugh, while Five glares.
"I would rather chew off my own foot!" Five grumbles. You slap his chest.
"No, not even close to wanting to." You say, with a smile. Five looks at you, with a confused look. "Mine has a smile. People think it's nice." You whisper to him, only to have him roll his eyes.
"Let's go Kenny." The mom says, retreating back to their group.
Five looks around and grabs your hand. He moves to the lane next to yours. Hearing in the background Diego and Klaus' argument. "What'd you find?" You ask, in a small voice.
He open a part of the rack to find a tube. "How'd she find me?" He whispers. He stairs off for a second before returning. He sighs and digs in his pocket, getting a butterscotch rapper out, only to be a tracking device. "She's good."
"Handler?" you ask, the boy in front of you then nodding.
Five told you all about the Handler and his past. He told you almost everything about his past and what even happened while you knew him.
"Jesus." The boy opens the tube, then throwing it on the rack again, only to see a fortune cookie.
"Wow a cookie. I feel threatened." You say sarcastically. He turns to glare at you. "Open the damn cookie, Five," demanding, he does so.
He chuckles. "How many times are you going to say the word cookie?" he teases and hands you the fortune from the cookie after reading it himself.
'Time Marches On... Or Does It?' And then written under it an address.
"You're making me come with you, arent you?" You say, looking back up at him. He smirks and takes your hand once again.
"You know me all too well, dear (y/n)." as he teleports in front of a hotel. "Dear Lord."
His hand still in yours, he pulls you inside the small motel, in front of room 12.
"Five, I've been waiting for you," as voice days from inside, along with music. You look at him as he pulls you again, but into the room. "Ah and you've brought company." He takes his hand out of yours and steps in front of you.
You're eyes widen at the old-ish women tied in the chair with duck tape on her mouth. "Oh no, Agnes." You whisper.
"You must really like doughnuts." Five says, with a straight face. Agnes muffles a 'help me'. You give her a pity look.
"As well you, ms. (y/n) there." The Handler says, almost too calmly.
"Leave her out of this." Five says.
"It's been awhile."
"Three days."
"For you, maybe. But for me it's been a lot longer since i've seen those adorable little shorts." You scoff, making Five smirk.
"Lucky we both had time to heal."
The Handler sighs, standing and making her way towards you two. "Luckily, for both of us, time is the one thing my organization has an abundance of."
"Got your message, by the way." Five says, turning to you to get the note from you, then turning back to the Handler. "Nice packaging, but so much for Commission protocol."
The Handler grabs a chip and continues her way right in front of Five. "There's been a lot of changes since you left the Commission. You really did some damage." She eats the chip and strokes Fives cheek. "The briefcases were all but destroyed, to say nothing of the highly trained personal you killed."
"Holy shit, Five! What did you do? Blow the building up?" You exclaimed.
"That's exactly what he did, doughnuts! But, I mean, after all, what is an institution if not for-" The Handler began.
"I said leave her out of this! Now what do you want?" He barked. She turned back to him.
“To be happy.” She said. You rolled your eyes as she started to walk around. “To have a simple unfettered life, to do the work my superiors require. But you being here, well, it complicates all that.”
“Billions of people are about to die tonight!” Five snapped. Agnes whimpered. You look back over there and let out a sigh. Turning back towards the Handler. You put a hand on Fives shoulder to try and calm him down. He also takes a deep breath, “you can change that.”
“Tonight, tomorrow, so little difference on the scheme of things.” You moved your hand and shot the women a confused look. She sat down on the couch. “Not like doughnuts will know, but don’t you remember the Commissions raison d'être? What’s meant to be is meant to be, or, as I like to say, que serÃj, serÃj.”
“Bullshit in any language.” You pipe in. Five chuckles and reaches behind himself for your hand. You grab it and smile at the Handler.
“Why’d you call me here?” Five said, pulling you next to him, hands still together.
“I wanna offer you a choice.” She gave him puppy dog eyes. “Everyone’s going to die tonight, but unlike the rest of the world, you have a way out. You can abandon your family, and doughnuts there, and skip ahead to the apocalypse, take a walkabout for a few decades, wondering if i’ll come back and offer you a job again, or you can stay here, with doughnuts and your family, and die a horrible death. But why would you do that to you’re new girlfriend.”
“Not girlfriend,” you whispered and turned to him. “Five, you can’t go back there. She’s just going to be making you do all the things you escaped.” You let go of his hand.
”While you listen to her and weigh your options, just know your siblings are fighting for their lives without you.”
“You brought me here to pull me away.”
“Yeah, and she was supposed to die but, shame. Nice knowing you Five.” He grabbed you hand and teleported you away.
You guys landed right in front of the Icarus Theatre. He turns to you, letting go once again. “(y/n), you have to understand. I don’t want you in there.” Five says, putting his hands on your shoulders.
“But I don’t want you hurt. I want to go in there, I want to fight-“
“You don’t have powers, babe!” A small gasp escapes from you at the nickname. “I’m sorry, I just, I don’t want you hurt.” Five interrupted.
“Five, no matter what happens, i’m going to get hurt. It’s the end of the world.” Five turned around to the theater and looked back at you.
“I’ll find a way, and I’ll find you. I love you.” Five finished.
“You wha-“ Five rolled his eyes, cupped his hands and kissed you. You guys pulled away, the biggest smiles on your faces.
“Shit.” He whispers. “Shit. I gotta go!” He yells. “I’m sor-“
“No, don’t be sorry. Go save the world.” You give him a smile. He turns around and teleports inside. “I love you too.” You whisper, before sitting down, ready for the world to end.

Bringing The Big Dork Out of Him- Luther Hargreeves x reader
Here is my Luther Hargreeves x reader fic, because he deserves to be loved too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She dropped the chandelier on him, whoever she was, dropped a fricking chandelier on him, who the fuck does that? “Luther!” You yelled, he was a big guy so you were hoping he would at least be breathing. But he was doing better than that. He slowly shook the weight of the piece of lighting off of him without a scratch. The only thing that did happen was that his shirt was ripped off of his huge form revealing the thing that he tried so hard to hide from everyone, including you.
“Holy shit,” Diego slipped out what all of you were thinking. He wouldn’t make eye contact with anyone except you, and all you could see in his eyes were shame and guilt from the furriness that he hid from you. But when he turned around to see that everyone including Vanya were staring at him like he was a freak, he quickly ran past you and up the stairs. No one made a step until you all heard his door slam. You clenched your eyes, you couldn’t imagine the pain that he was going through.
“Did you know?” Vanya asked Allison and you, seeing as you two were the ones closest to him. Everyone in the family knew that Allison and Luther had something, but none of them knew that you and Luther had something going on behind closed doors. The both of you shook your head. You knew that you should have stayed to help clean up and check to see that everyone was okay, but you couldn’t get Luther off of your brain; you couldn’t leave him in his room sulking all by himself. So while Allison, Vanya, and Diego made their way into the living room, you ran as fast you could up the stairs and briskly walked to Luther’s room. Normally you would have just walked in, but you found yourself knocking on his door.
“Go away please,” Luther called through the door. You shook your head like he could see you and took it upon yourself to slowly walk into the room. “I said, go, awa-” He began a little more harsh, but when he saw that it was you as  he sat up in the bed.
“Nope,” you quietly closed his door. “I’m not going anywhere, plus I think we need to talk.”
“Look, I love you, Y/N, alright. But I really don’t want to talk right now.” He told you as he laid back down in his bed so that his back was to you. You never were one to take no for an answer, so you walked over to his bed and laid down in the empty spot next to him and turned to face him.
“Too bad,” you reached toward him and rubbed your thumb along his cheek lovingly, giving him the affection he so obviously needed. “I’m not leaving you.” You whispered sweetly.
“I just want to be alone,” he whined as he cried into his pillow.
“Well, you shouldn’t be. And I’m not gonna let you.” For being such a big guy, you sometimes forget how sensitive he could be. Seeing him hurt so much made you want to cry too. But he’s strong all the time, so you could be the strong one for him just this once. He didn’t want to whine anymore, so he just rolled over to rest his forehead on your shoulder. “Shhhhhh,” you comforted him, as well as pressed a loving kiss to his forehead. “Do you want to talk about it?” You whispered. Luther just shrugged.
“It was after all of you had left and I was here alone.” He shifted away from you, but was still facing you. Luther took one of your hands that was practically miniscule compared to his own. “Dad sent me on a mission. It went bad, like really bad. I got hurt. So when I got back to the academy, dad and Grace thought I was going to die. That’s when dad made the decision to inject me with this serum, stuff that would basically turn me into the incredible Hulk. Just really hairy, and not able to shrink down.” When Luther looked up from the hand that he was holding, he noticed tears rolling down your cheeks. “Hey, please don’t cry.” Luther pleaded. “Don’t cry because of me.” Luther reached forward to wipe the tears from your face. You were about to say something when there was knock at Luther’s bedroom door.
“Luther?” Allison’s voice called through. Luther had to come up with a way to get rid of her.
“Go away, Allison.” He told her through the door. It wasn’t until you heard your sisters diminishing footsteps that you spoke up.
“Why didn’t you tell me? I could have lost you.” You told him as you couldn’t help but cry into your hands.
“Because you were finally out of here, living the life that you wanted, and you had worked so hard.” Luther told you like that would have changed everything.
“I would have come running back here if I knew that something was happening to you.” You told him.
“I know, that’s why I didn’t tell you,” Luther pushed a piece of your hair behind your hair. “I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you.” You were the most important person to him, he never wanted to be the cause of the pain that you were in right now.
“You know, those four years that you were gone,” you started and pointed upward toward the sky where the moon was. “Those were the hardest four years I think ever.”
“Yeah, well I’m back now,” Luther extended his arm and wrapped it around you after you rested your head on his chest. “And I don’t plan on going anywhere.” Luther whispered into your hair.
“If you ever left, I think I would have to kill you.” You laughed quietly.
“You think you could take me?” Luther asked sarcastically.
“Well at least you can joke about it now,” you mumbled as you sat up to get off the bed. But you didn’t make it very far when you felt a tug on your arm and you fell back on to Luther’s chest. “And by the way, I know I could take you.” You decided to play along, you always loved when Luther got like this.
“I’ll take you right now,” Luther continued. Putting you into a head lock so your face was in his chest and with his hand he started tickling your side.
“No. No!” You laughed, pushing at his chest trying to free yourself. “I give.” As Luther loosened his grip, you looked up and saw a big, bright smile on his face as he laughed his ass off. “There he is.” You cooed as you smiled up at him.
“There who is?” Luther furrowed his eyebrows at you.
“The giant adorable dork that I fell in love with,” you shifted a little so that you were face to face.
“I love you too, thank you for checking on me.” Luther smiled at you as you climbed more on top of him and pecked him on the lips before laying yourself down in his chest once more. It was so good to finally have him home where he belonged.

Original request: can you do a ben x reader (kinda) where they come back for their fathers funeral and she gets really upset after luther knocks down bens statue?? do whatever you want with it i just thought it would be a cool idea❤️
You had always been close with the Hargreeves family, even after the death of Ben. For a while, you found it hard to be around them as you kept remembering that when you walked in the door that Ben would not be there. When you heard the news and got the invite to Sir Reginald Hargreeves funeral, you decided to only attend to support the others. You didn’t realise how hard it was going to be.
You were currently standing in front of the door hesitating. The last time you were here was after Klaus went missing, being one of the few children left at the academy. You were always close with Klaus, so when you got the call saying that no one could find Klaus you heart broke all over again. However, it didn’t take long for Klaus to find you through a phone call to tell you he was fine and “living with some friends”.
You took a deep breath before knocking on the door. You stood there awkwardly as rubbing your arm due to the cold.
“Y/n!” A voice exclaimed as the door swung open. You lifted your gaze to see Klaus standing in front of you. His hair was messed up but it matched in with his smudged eyeliner, furry collared coat and leather pants. “So glad you are here, come in!” He told you in an overly happy way.
“How are you?” You questioned, stepping inside and taking off your coat to reveal a black ensemble of a black top, black skirt and black stockings.
“Couldn’t be better. The bastard is dead,” Klaus told you in a cheery voice. You have a little chuckle as you followed him into the living room.
“Guys, look what the cat dragged in!” Klaus diverted the attention to you as you stepped in.
“Hey guys,” you said in a small voice.
“Y/n!” Allison exclaimed, practically running around the couch to gather you in a hug. “I’ve missed you!” She whispered in your ear.
“Me too,” I told her before pulling away and instantly being grabbed into another hug.
I looked up to see it was Diego that had grabbed me in a full-on bear hug. After Ben’s death, he became very protective over you because he could tell you weren’t coping with his death.
Little did he know that you still weren’t.
“Hey little one,” he mumbled in your ear.
“Hey Diego, how’s it been?” you asked.
“So-so,” He replied with a chuckle, finally letting you go.
You turned around to see Luther towering over you.
“I see you’ve been hitting the gym,” you tried to crack a joke before giving him a hug also.  Luther soon let go as you saw another face behind him.
Vanya grabbed you in a hug. Before Ben died you hadn’t been close with Vanya but in the years after she left the academy, you would regularly catch up. She was the only one that knew about you struggling but you never told her the full story and how you still were struggling.
“Let me just say, we need to stay in touch more often because there is too many of you to hug,” you laughed, trying not to be so awkward. You plopped yourself down on the sofa next to Diego, hoping to keep yourself in this new happy mood you were in for as long as you could.
***
After a weird reunion with Five who had jumped back in time, the siblings had decided to hold their father’s memorial. You felt stuck at their kitchen table though. You knew that when you go outside you would have to see Ben’s statue. It looks nothing like him but the thought that it was put there to mark his death still made you cry. You continued to play with the coffee cup that had been sat in front of you by Grace until someone called out to you.
“Y/n? Are you coming?” Diego called out. You turned around to see Diego waiting at the door with Grace. You nodded your head and made your way up to Diego.
You walked outside and it was the first thing that caught your attention; Ben’s statue. You avoided looking at it and diverted your eyes to the ground.
“Does anyone wish to speak?” Pogo asked.
“Very well,” pogo began before talking about Reginald. You started to drown out the speaking, not caring for the heartless bastard. You would never say it out loud to the others but you never liked Hargreeves. You always had to buy your tongue when you were invited over. Your growing hatred for Hargreeves was stopped when you heard a voice beside you.
“He was a monster,” Diego spat. “He was a bad person and a worse father. The world's better off without him,”
“Diego,” Allison tried to cut him off.
“My name is Number Two. You know why? Because our father couldn't be bothered to give us actual names. He had Mom do it,” Diego started to grow angry as he continued to go on about his father. “Would anyone like something to eat?” Grace suddenly said. Everyone looked at her strangely before Vanya replied.
“No, it's okay, Mom.”
“Look, you wanna pay your respects? Go ahead but at least be honest about the kind of man he was,” Diego continued
“You should stop talking now,” Luther shot back. You rolled your eyes, he always did follow Hargreeves rules.
“You know, you of all people should be on my side here, Number One,” Diego started, knowing he was hitting a nerve with Luther.
“I am warning you,” Luther said trying to diffuse the situation. You began to not pay attention, annoyed with their fighting. That was until fist were flying at each other. Luther and Diego continued their punch up and taunting of each other while Klaus cheered them on. But of course, everything went wrong.
It felt as everything was in slow motion; one second the statue was standing there and then it wasn’t, it was lying on the ground with its the head smashed off next to it from Luther’s powerful punch.
Your eyes began to swim in tears with a blank face, still staring at the decapitated statue
“Y/n?” You heard Klaus ask beside you. You didn’t reply but continued to stare at the statue. Klaus placed a hand on your shoulder, alerting you to the outside world. You looked up into his eyes before nodding, wiping away the tears quickly and pulling the hood of your coat further down so that they couldn’t see you cry. After Luther left, Diego grabbed grace and walked inside. Everyone else followed behind as they started to leave, Klaus patting you on the back in a comforting way before you were all alone.
You didn’t know what to do, you felt so lost as you stared at the broken statue. You slowly made your way towards it to see what damage was done.
You sat on the ground, cross-legged as you grabbed Statue Ben’s head and looked at it.
“I’m so sorry, Ben,” You whispered, feeling the stinging in your eyes as tears formed again.
“Everything is a mess now,” You continued on, brushing your thumb along the cheekbone. A deep dark feeling developed as you realised that this would be the closest you would ever be to each other again
“No one talked to each other basically before today. I haven’t talked to anyone at all in a long time. They all left not long after you… Well, except Luther. He always was loyal to your Dad, he stayed with him until he went to the moon,” You continued to ramble on. Your throat closed up as you looked up, trying to blink the tears away.
“I’ve been so alone, Ben. You were the only one that understood me,” You sobbed. You dropped your head and laid it against the forehead of the statue.
“I can’t take it much longer Ben, I can’t keep living this way,” You sobbed, your heart breaking all over again like it did when you heard the news of his death.
“Y/n,” You heard a voice whisper behind you. You quickly picked up your head and turned to see Diego. He had come outside to apologise to you but soon stopped when he heard you speaking to yourself
You just continued to cry as you held onto the head. Diego quickly made his way over and grabbed you into a hug.
“I’m so sorry, y/n. We never meant for the statue to break,” he mumbled into your ear. You let go of the head and wrapped your arms around Diego like he was saving you from drowning in the darkness
“I can't keep going anymore, Diego.” You cried, raising your head from where it had been resting against his chest.
“I need to see Ben again.”

The Titans Meet The Umbrella Academy
(Titans 2018 & Umbrella Academy Crossover)
Dick, Kori, Gar and Rachel are on their way across the country, fleeing from the Organization that wants Rachel
And you know, with Metropolis and Gotham existing nobody ever really questioned the weird shit that happened in Pulvisera
Metropolis had Superman, Gotham had Batman, the Joker, The Riddler, Scarecrow... and Pulvisera had The Umbrella Academy.
In the large scale of things they are forgotten, however. Like a bad running comic book series. They had their five minutes of fame but it had been over ten years since anyone outside of Pulvisera had even thought about them.
So, when the Titans end up in this weird city they don`t even know what they have gotten themselves into.
While on a pizza run Dick stumbles on a robbery but before he can do anything a guy in a domino mask and bondage gear beats them up
Dick stores that under “Weird Vigilantes In Other Citys” and goes back to their dingy motel
Two days later Gar finds a junkie in the trash behind the motel, almost certainly dead where it not for the fact that he suddenly jump starts again and runs away
A few days after that a letter appears in their motel mailbox. It is from Alfred.
The contents of the letter include an address for a safehouse in the city, belonging to one of Batmans acquaintances.
Dick doesn`t want to go but Kori says that if that safe house means a clean shower and maybe even a kitchen they are going to go.
Rachel and Gar are definitely on their side.
When they arrive, they are blown away: In front of them is an old mansion, the Umbrella Academy.
Dick feels weirdly reminded of his time at Wayne Manor. He is not happy about that.
Gar might just combust of awe. Rachel tries to hide it, but she is amazed as well.
When they get inside they are greeted by Pogo. A Talking Monkey.
Kori looks at Dick with a look that says “Is this normal for human households?”.
He shakes his head.
It only gets weirder after that.
A beautiful robot lady brings them tea and tells them that the kids are currently out but should be here soon. There are bullet holes in the tapestry. Over the fireplace a creepy picture of a young boy smiles down at them.
And when Dick asks about the acquaintance of Batman, they are informed that Sir Reginald Hargreeves sadly passed away two weeks ago. Only his surviving children are currently there.
But the Titans are always welcome to use the house as their base, of course.
Only then Diego comes home. And he is not impressed.
But a cookie from Grace soothes him over.
At least until Luther comes home together with Allison, having been shopping together.
There are a few choice words uttered between them, but before the Luther/Diego situation can escalate as it usually does these days, Gar interrupts with the question if Luther is a Furry.
Diego uses the stunned silence to disappear.
And the Allison starts laughing. And worrying. These people have two children with them after all.
Kori is impressed by this new woman. Especially when she starts asking Rachel and Gar questions. She sounds like a mother. A real one.
Kori decides that she really likes this Allison. She is not so sure about Luther.
Dick on the other hand is not quite sure what is going on. And by the look of it, Luther feels quite the same.
So, when the hairy big guy insists on showing him their rooms, Dick agrees.
The two of them make their way upstairs. And while passing the old Umbrella Academy bedrooms, Dick sees all of the children self defense pictures.
He can relate to these people. They were also trained to be child soldiers.
But they were send out to do so younger. When Dick asks, Luther tells him that they were training since they were five. And operating since they were ten. And going public when they were 13.
There is hate in Dicks stomach. He would punch this Reginald dude if it were possible.
And suddenly many things are happening at once: A kid appears in a blue flash of light, a man in black leather pants and nothing else climbs in through a window, and a loud crash can be heard from the foyer.
Luther only grins at Dick: “These are my siblings. Welcome to the Umbrella Academy”
Dick is not also sure if he wants to stay here or not. Or if it is safe at all...

Conversation
Wei watches The Umbrella Academy Ep 10
Reginald Hargreevs's backstory.
Wei: Even an asshole has to love someone at some point.
------
Vanya's true White Violin form.
Wei: Sweet.
------
Scenes with how everyone mistreated Vanya.
Wei: WRECK SOME SHIT.
------
Ben pulls Diego out of the way.
Klaus: Holy shit.
Wei: Holy shit.
------
Pogo: Miss Vanya, that's quite enough!
Wei: I'd argue not enough.
Pogo: Miss Vanya, I understand how upset you are. But I can assure you that none of your siblings bear any responsibility for what happened to you as a child.
Vanya: Did you know?
Pogo: Your father discovered that you were capable of great things. Much like your brothers and sister. But your powers were too great. He only wanted to protect you from yourself. As well as your siblings.
Vanya: Did. You. Know.
Pogo: Yes, Miss Vanya. I knew.
Wei: GO CUT A BITCH VANYA
------
Number Five: Harold was the fuse, but Vanya was the bomb. Vanya causes the apocalypse.
Wei: There we go. SHOWTIME PEOPLE.
------
The Handler: Are you telling me you can't handle a bunch of emotionally stunted people?
Wei: Well if it was only the powers or only emotionally stunted, probably. Since it's both, you've put Hazel and Cha-Cha in a tough spot lady.
------
Luther: I hate to be the one to say this but everyone needs to prepare.
Diego: Prepare to do what?
Luther: Prepare to do whatever it takes to stop Vanya.
Wei: AND HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH YOUR SHITTY DECISION MAKING.
------
Luther: We're the only ones who can stop this. We have a responsibility to dad-
Wei: That character arc? Where did it go? Was it a boomerang?
------
Klaus tries to conjure Ben and fails.
Luther: Is there any way to stop that voice in your head that demands you be the center of attention.
Klaus: I liked you better before you got laid. Which... wasn't his fault because he was incredibly high... And she thought he was a furry.
Luther: STOP!
Wei: NO KEEP GOING. DRAG HIS FURRY ASS.
------
Vanya: Isn't it beautiful? I will learn to play it. I will be extraordinary.
Grace: Put your whole heart into it.
Hargreeves smiles.
Wei: See, if you weren't so fucking emotionally constipated, you could have avoided all of this.
------
Luther attempts to apologize to Allison for sleeping with someone.
Wei: All these excuses I hear, but wasn't that how Vanya felt too? She'd been lied to and hurt. She wanted to be accepted and find somewhere to belong for a moment. Thus I conclude that you're incapable of self reflection.
------
Diego: You want to be Number One? Fine. But you need to get us all on the same page because right now, we're all over the place.
Luther: You're right. We need a plan.
Wei: No. Absolutely not. You are a tool. How dare you attempt to listen to everyone NOW when everyone was yelling at you before and you were a prick? I mean, I'll be fair and say they didn't try hard enough at least.
------
The orchestra begins. Vanya plays better than she ever has.
Wei: The tension is real right now.
------
Luther: Yeah we're fine thanks for asking.
Allison makes a face.
Luther: I almost lost you once, I wasn't about to lose you again.
Wei: HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO TELL YOU
------
Klaus conjures Ben.
Klaus: Now who's the lookout?
Wei: THAT'S MY BOYS!
------
Luther: At least we're together at the end. As a family.
Wei: BUT YOU COULD HAVE BEEN A FAMILY TOGETHER 40 MIN AGO?!
------
Number Five tries to take everyone back in time. Everyone starts to look younger.
Wei: Yes. YES. YEESSSSSS!!!! RETURN TO THE PAST! FIGHT FOR YOUR SISTER! EMBRACE YOUR FAMILY AND LEARN AGAIN WITH HEARTS AND EYES WIDE OPEN! TODAY YOU FAILED BUT TIME IS AN ILLUSION! RETURN TO US IN SEASON 2 AND SHOW US THE TRUE UMBRELLA ACADEMY!!!

no one asked but I can’t sleep so I’m gonna order the Hargreeves siblings from most attractive to least attractive and why I think that. now I will preface this by saying of course this is just my opinion, the humble opinion of a stupid bisexual monster.....but I am right and this is the only correct ordering of these characters in terms of hotness.
click the read more for some spicy takes.
1. Right off the back. The hottest is Allison.
side note: Be honest with me. OF COURSE the top two spots were gonna be Allison and Vanya. They are the only two of the siblings with real jobs. Luther, Klaus, Five are unemployed disasters. Diego lives in a boiler room in A GYM. And Ben is dead. Get real.
Now why is Allison first place and not Vanya? Simple. She got money. Now you may call me a gold digger, shallow, a fool (all of which are true and valid descriptions of who I am) but as a mentally ill, broke as hell, trash person I am very VERY attracted to a little bit of sugar, ya kno what I mean? Anyway besides the money, Allison is funny, fun, beautiful, charismatic, and yes a little self-centered but I can get with it. Plus she’s going through a divorce. Now I know that sounds bad but I am a fucking exposed emotional nerve and I need someone who can meet me at that level and a messy divorce will do that to ya.
2. Second is Vanya. Of course. Listen, her life as a sad, poor, violinist living in a shitty but also tragically romantic one-bedroom apartment in a big city is what sapphic dreams are made of. She is nice and wears flannel. My big gay heart can only take so much before I fall in love. Now she DID cause the apocalypse and yes she does have some major emotional baggage but listen...so what. I wanna wake up every morning and make her coffee while we live out our quiet, broke as hell, artist lives together. She can play Vivaldi and I can write poetry and in the summer we’ll go swimming.
3. Well now this is conundrum. Who the fuck of the literal disasters stands above the rest. The answer is *drum roll* DIEGO now I know what you’re thinking, “but Briana!!!! He wears leather pants and a sweater un-ironically and thinks its cool and also lives in a boiler room :CCCC.” The thing is...I have never really understood irony in the slightest. If you gonna do/believe/say/wear/create anything??? Why not do it whole-heartedly and earnestly? And my boy Diego is nothing if not painfully earnest. He covered up what was potentially robot homicide just cuz he loves his moms. He carries knives around and wears the same outfit everdya...wait this line of thought is not doing Diego any favors. Let's move on. Diego is a Momma’s Boy. Plus, of the male cast, David Castaneda IS the hottest. Go check out that video where he is doing crunches. I felt on fire, man. Plus he is the onlu guy with a job.
4. Ben. Yes, he’s dead. But I watched Casper. I know that love transcends the confines of life and death. And I get that choosing the literal dead guy over the other three seems...callous. But that’s only because it is............Anyway! Ben is funny, he’s cute, and likes to read.
5. Klaus. Now you may be thinking, “Briana...really? really??? you gonna do Five and Luther like that?? Klaus is an addict.” And to that I say, “you really need to check yourself about your unfair prejudices against people with addictions. Addiction is not about moral bankruptcy or a show od poor chracter. It is instead based on things like emotional trauma, undiagnosed mental illness, etc. and you need to get fucking real and decolonize ur mind.” Anyway. Klaus is, underneath it all, a lost soul who is just figuring out his life and recovering from a life of addiction and abuse. He and I would have a lot to talk about.
6&7. Now....I’ve grouped these two together. Not because character-wise I think of Luther and Five on the same level. Both are absolute disasters and both of them made poor decisions but what were the best conclusions they could draw from the information that they had at the time. No....I put them here at the bottom because this isn’t America’s Best Friend Race. This is a list of how attracted Briana is to fictional characters. And Luther has an ape body. Five is in the body of a 13 year old. Mama ain’t a furry and she ain’t a pedo. Based on personality alone? Five would have been #3 but it ain’t just about personality and that’s the ugly truth. I'm talking about fucking as much as I'm talking about feelings and I'm not fucking an ape and I ain't fucking a kid. You got a problem with that lemme give you a neat little hotline to vent ur anger out on: 911. It is absolutely free to seek Jesus yall.
Anyway. I’m bi as fuck and I have no regrets about what I’ve said and what I’ve done.
Goodbye.

Umbrella Academy - My Thoughts -  Contains Spoilers
So, now that I managed to get some sleep, here’s my thoughts on Umbrella Academy.
Yes, there will be spoilers here, so avoid if you haven’t seen the show and don’t want to know what happens.
So, overall I loved it.  Too many shows go straight for the grim-dark, full-angst, all drama and I can’t watch them.  It’s why I pretty much have stalled out on   The Walking Dead. Was the show angsty, and dark in spots? Hell yeah. But they also tempered it with humour and laughter and fluff. They didn’t just hammer at you with pain and horror and everything is bad.
Now for the Characters: (No real order other than how they pop into my head)
Luther - even by the end I still wanted to tell him to grow up. At least he had moved away from the Dad-is-always-right mentality he had at the beginning, but he was still so childishly naive in the face of what was going on. Of them all he’s probably the most emotionally stunted, though he did have some growth in that area by the end he still has quite a way to go before he manages to come into who he can be.
Allison - of all of them is probably the most stable. With what happened with Claire and her realizing the abuse of her powers and pretty much vowing to not use them again (though it’s not explicitly said), she’s the one the seemed to have the most growth pre-pilot.  And she continues, especially in her interactions with Vanya.
Klaus - who is of all of them my favourite. That poor boy. Is he a fuck up? Yes, so much.  But understandably so. Finding out how Reginald Hargreeves trained Klaus to use his powers was horrifying.  I seethed through that whole part with the urge to reach through the screen and strangle a fictional character. Of all of them, he has the most growth.  He learns himself. Does he still do stupid shit? Yes, but he wouldn’t be Klaus if he didn’t. His interactions with Ben are touching, hilarious in parts, and so damn heartbreaking.  I spent the whole time wondering if Klaus held on to Ben and kept him there or did Ben hold on to Klaus so that he wouldn’t leave his family.
Diego - my violent little boy.  He’s another one I felt for so much. If you watch you see that in some ways the others kind of paired off. Allison and Luther with a pre-romantic relationship, Ben and Klaus seemed to be close (hinted at), and Vanya and Fives seemed to be close (hinted at with her leaving the lights on and leaving snacks out for him), but Diego had no one but Grace aka Mom.  She’s the center of his world. Which makes everything with her so much harder to take. His relationship with Det. Patch was cute though (I will talk about her in a bit). The teasing, the goodnatured bickering, the tension - both sexual and professional, everything between them was so cute.
Fives - arrogant, self-entitled, assholish, what else can be said about Fives?  He loves his family. He actually cares about stopping the Apocolypse.  While he says he doesn’t regret the things he had to do while working for the Commision, you can see that it haunts him. And imagine, being 58 in a 13 yr old body. He’s smart though, but his issue is that he forgets that other people can be smart too. He underestimates people in that regard, including his own family because he believes he’s smarter than all of them.  He’s the most unstable of them all, but then again, he jumped time to the future and spent decades alone with only a mannequin for company before the Commission got their hooks into them.
Ben - I really wish we had more of his story. We don’t know how he died, only that he stuck around. He’s always with Klaus, even with Klaus drugs himself to block out all the other ghosts. Him helping to save Diego when the Academy was coming down and again in the theatre was just awesome. I’m hoping they bring more of him into the second season and we learn more of his story.
Vanya - the ordinary one. I loved the forshadowing done in the first episode. I’m fairly certain the opening scene is her being born. Then after the whole Hargreeves adopting (buying) them, it cuts to her performing Phantom of the Opera (Lindsay Sterling’s version which rocks btw), which as it the intro scenes ago on you find out is to an empty theatre.  So much foreshadowing and very poetic. Even the songs chosen. Her whole arc, being the ordinary one, being left out and left behind all the time, transition into finding out that she’s not ordinary, but extremely powerful.  The whole thing with Peabody/Jenkins creeped me out, but he creeped me out from the first moment. The way Hargreeves treated her pissed me off though. The whole “someone/thing is too powerful we have to lock it up/neutralize it” frame of mind. Her powers are tied to her emotions and because he basically abused and used them, they were raised by a robot, who did her best but doesn’t really have emotions, so she was never taught to control them and use them.  Also, you can’t just lock something in a box and pretend it doesn’t exist. That way lies disaster.  Hence, the Apocolypse.  Potential and powers like that, those tied to emotions don’t just fade when locked away, they grow.  Each moment of anger, pain, humiliation, grief, they all add to that potential.  He had to know she would only get more powerful, that sooner to later Allison’s rumour would wear off or be destroyed and Vanya would remember.
I am glad they didn’t go the whole White Violin from the comics. Interesting look, but no.
Leonard Peabody aka Harold Jenkins - definition of “Cool motive, still murder”. Creep extraordinaire .  Granted, he didn’t want to destroy the world, just the Umbrella Academy, but the way he used Vanya made me so sick. Just about everything he did even before we found out his backstory had me wanting to go scrub down.  Glad to know my instincts are correct.
Pogo and Mom - both are stories I want to know more about. How did Pogo end up there? How did Hargreeves create Mom? We know why, because of Vanya, even if it benefited the others in the end as well. Pogo holding on to so many of the secrets when he should have said something pissed me off though.  He should have let some of them go sooner.
Det. Eudora Patch - I loved her.  As I said, the byplay between her and Diego was so cute.  Just so fun to watch.  There was so much potential there and then, of course, they fridged her.  That had to be the most disappointing part of the show.  Killing a woman to give a man pain.  Really, haven’t we gotten past that yet?  I know they did it to have the whole Diego learns that violence is not the answer arc, but still,  they could have kept her alive and did the same damn thing.
Hazel and Cha-Cha - such interesting characters.  And Hazel’s arc. Especially finding out that he’s let people go before.  That he’s never been a heartless killed.  Cha-Cha, however, is a heartless killer.  Seriously, she has issues. And her not realizing the Handler was going to leave them there since they had no briefcase? I laughed my ass off.
The Handler - all I can say is what a bitch.
Dave - I wish we could have gotten a bit more of the whole Klaus Dave thing.  I just wanted to bundle them up and hide them somewhere that no one and nothing could hurt them.
Delores - well, yeah, um...
My favourite parts:
The dancing to I Think We’re Alone Now. I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe.
Allison and Luther calling Claire and Luther saying all the things that Allison can’t and her just breaking down and crying.  That was just so painful to watch.
Luther the Furry.
All the times Fives talks to Delores.
Klaus being strangled by Cha-Cha. (that was hilarious)
Heartbreaking Parts:
Klaus saying that no one would notice him missing, and no one did.
Hearing Allison talking about what she did, how she used her powers on Claire.
Vanya drawing the Umbrella Academy tattoo on her arm while everyone else was getting theirs.
Klaus not being able to connect to/find Dave.
When they realize that Vanya is the apocalypse.
Least Favourite Parts: (for various reason)
Klaus being locked in the mausoleum.
Vanya being locked in the vault thing (both times, Luther you idiot!)
Det. Patch being killed.
The whole way Hargreeves treated the kids (seriously, want to strangle him)
Peabody dumping out Vanya’s pills (wow, that had me shaking with anger.  I had figured it out at that point but still, so pissed off).
The whole way they all treat Klaus.
Luther’s attitude.
So, I’m gonna give it a bit and then rewatch the whole season. Hopefully, a second season doesn’t take too long.  I would love to see more.  As I said, I loved it. It was pretty much well done overall.
A cliffhanger ending though.  That was annoying.

- okay so the whole deal with the handler and the kennedy assassination is weird because in dallas number five is trying to stop his older self from killing the people involved in the kennedy assassination bc tua takes place in this alternate universe where kennedy never died (bc older five stopped them) BUT in that timeline the world ends bc kennedy meets hargreeves and gives him nukes and the nukes end up in hazel and cha-cha’s hands and they go boom SO in order to make sure the world doesn’t end allison assassinates kennedy. but in the netflix show kennedy dies? i think? bc older five never stopped the assassins bc he wanted to get back to his time? so i don’t know how that’s going to work. of course things are VERY different from the comics and im aware of that but im just wondering how shit is gonna work out with everything changed yknow. Time Travel & The Force - Five Hargreeves
EPISODE 0010
[MASTERLIST]
𝐭 𝐢 𝐦 𝐞  𝐭 𝐫 𝐚 𝐯 𝐞 𝐥  &  𝐭 𝐡 𝐞  𝐟 𝐨 𝐫 𝐜 𝐞
Eight knew right away that her sister was hurting. From the smallest memories when they were younger, Eight would have the visions of Vanya. Not having powers, but her yes white staring as if they'd been hurt. This was a scary time for Eight. She didn't know what it meant, but in fear of it being real, she kept it to herself. Rather than detaching herself from Vanya, she became closer to the girl.
The very thing that Reginald Hargreeves tried to prevent. The mixture of the girls who could end life as they knew it.
Eight snuck out of her own room to speak with Vanya when no one was around. They played as loud as they could, thankful for Eight's powers. Vanya played her the violin beautifully every time, and Eight couldn't be prouder to have her as a sister. She even took up a few lessons with the girl before things went to shit.
Reginald sent Eight on more missions to keep the two apart, but Eight whenever she had the time sat down with the girl despite the yelling that she would get from doing so. But all those were the only memories left of Eight and Five to Vanya.
After the two had disappeared and were pronounced dead, Vanya had no one. No one to talk to. Congratulate her. To calm her. To call her a good sister. She missed Eight.
"I need to go," Eight gasped, getting up shakily.
James and Ella looked at each other sadly knowing it was time. The little blonde boy walked over and hugged his mother for the last time. Both hugging each other tightly. Ella joined the hug and smiled.
"Go save the world kiddo," Ella said, pulling away.
James pulled away slightly and smiled at his mother, "Tell dad I said hi, and that I love him."
Eight put down her son and nodded, "I will," she said pausing, "I love you both so much."
Ella now holding James nodded, "We know. Now go."
Eight closed her eyes and as she opened then she began coughing. Her hands pushed all around her but couldn't move. Frustrated, she blasted her surroundings with her newfound powers. As the rubble moved away from her. She got up and looked around.
"God..." she gasped looking at the demolished building that was the Academy. She knew who had the power to destroy this place.
"What the fuck did they do to her," Eight grumbled climbing off the ruble and away from the mansion. Walking along the sidewalk she found a newspaper on the floor. It was the exact headline as the original paper. The Apocalypse was still happening.
Closing her eyes she used her powers to locate any of her siblings, that's when she found their thoughts not too far from here.
Super Star Lanes. She said and then quickly opened up a portal to the place. Looking up she walked in the doors and asked for some bowling shoes.
The front desk person looked her up and down as she looked dusty and shrugged, "What size?"
"Six," Eight replied as she was then handed her shoes.
Then she walked over to her family and slumped down next to Five as she removed her boots and put on the bowling shoes.
Everyone was quiet, and Klaus was shaky, "Do you all see her?"
The siblings looked at her covered in dust and looked at her tying the shoes.
"Thanks for leaving me at the house guys," She grumbled, crossing her arms around her chest.
"We thought you were dead, Vanya took down the entire Academy, and we couldn't open the door," Luther said leaning forward.
Eight stood up and punched Luther in the face, "You're a fucking idiot you know that? Why would you lock Vanya down there?"
"Ow!" Luther exclaimed grabbing his nose, "She has—"
"Yeah I knew a long time ago, King Kong," Eight seethed leaning forward to look at Luther, "Now why did you lock her?"
"She was a danger to all of us!" Luther said.
"Did you even attempt to maybe calm her down? Offer to help her?" Eight questioned.
"No...I didn't think—" Luther began but Eight interrupted.
"You never think, you babbling monkey!" Eight exclaimed and slumped down on the chair next to Five.
Weary Luther looked around to his siblings, "Look, I hate to be the one to say this, but everyone needs to prepare," He said.
"For what?" Diego asked defensively.
"To do whatever it takes to stop Vanya," He replied just as quickly.
Eight got up suddenly ready to attack the large man, but Five grabbed her wrist pulling her to sit back down. Allison was lucky enough to smack him with her notepad. Eight didn't have to ask anyone to know what happened to Allison.
"We may not have a choice Allison," Luther said, looking at the woman.
"Bullshit," said Diego, "There are always options."
"Yeah, like what?" Five finally spoke up.
"I don't know," Diego said, responding.
Luther got up, "Look, whatever we decide, we need to find Vanya and fast she could be anywhere," he told his siblings.
"Or....here," said Klaus motioning the newspaper in his hands and leaning forwards so they all could see.
"That's right. Her concert is tonight," Diego mentioned.
"Hello," A woman wearing a blue polo popped up, "I have to intrude, but my manager says if you're not gonna bowl, you gotta leave," she said and walked away.
"Who's turn is it?" Diego asked.
Eight got up from her seat and looked over at the chubby man at the counter, she grabbed a bright pink ball and lifted it over her head and threw it angrily. As the ball landed, it bounced its way to a different lane granting her a strike elsewhere. The blonde huffed and glared at the old man, then sitting back down next to Five.
Allison began writing in her notepad and looked at her siblings, 'She's our sister.'
"Allison is right Luther," Eight said as she had seen the woman writing.
"We're the only ones capable of stopping this. We have a responsibility to Dad," Luther said to his siblings.
"To dad? No, I've heard enough about—" Diego began loudly.
"—He sacrificed everything to bring us back together," Luther finished.
"I'm with Luther on this one," Five said, looking at the man, "We can't give a chance to fight back. There are billions of lives at stake. We're past trying to save one."
Eight glared at her husband, "We're not winning by killing her Five. I'm with Diego."
"Hey, guys maybe I can help," Klaus offered to his siblings.
"Now is not the time," Luther told the Séance.
"No, let him finish," Diego interjected, "He saved my life today."
"Really?" Five and Eight chorused.
"Is that true?" Luther asked.
Everyone is now staring at Klaus.
"Yeah, Yeah, I did take credit for it," He forced out looking around and then to Eight who probably would be the one one to believe him, "In fact, the real hero....was Ben."
Everyone looked at him a bit weird including the blonde.
"Darling explain yourself what?" Eight said.
"Today, he punched me in the face. And earlier at the house, he was the one who saved Diego's life, not me."
"You are unbelievable, Klaus," Luther said, a bit shocked as to where his lie would go.
Eight and Five looked at each other and shrugged.
"Alright I'll give you proof," He said, picking up a bowling ball, "All right, it's showtime, baby," He said looking over Five's shoulder to where Ben is supposed to me.
But nothing happened, the ball bounced straight onto the floor.
"Is there a way to silence that screams out to be the center of attention?" Luther said angrily.
"Hey don't talk to him like that," Eight said towards Luther, "I believe you, Klaus, just next time try not to fail."
"You know I liked you a lot better before you got laid," Klaus said equally as mad.
Eight choked on her spit, "You were a virgin?" The girl laughed loudly, slapping her hand on Five's thigh. The boy jumped from the action.
Klaus realized his mistake and looked at Allison who looked up with wide eyes, "It wasn't his fault, he was ridiculously high, right? And the girl thought he was a furry." He tried saving.
Eight threw her head back in laugher, "A furry! Aha, this is the greatest thing!" she giggles wiping away fake tears.
Allison looked at Luther and took her notepad and walked away, "Allison, wait," Luther called after her, as he followed her.
The blonde continued to giggle as the two left hurriedly.
"Excuse me, it's my son Kenny's birthday today, wouldn't your son and daughter be happier playing with kids their own age?" A large plump woman walked over with her son, "Assuming it's okay with your two dads."
Five and Eight looked at each other, and then back at the woman.
"I would rather chew off my own foot," Five seethed at the woman.
Eight slapped her left hand over her mouth, and giggled, "Sorry about my husband, you and your potato child may leave now," the blonde stated with a large smile, her dimple showing.
The smile on the woman's face fell and looked at the duo's hands. And indeed the two bands were on their left ring finger, "Husband?" She whispered oddly and took her son away from the weirdos. As they left, Five and Eight heard the familiar swoosh from near them.
The two got up and ran towards a different bowling alley, "How the hell did she find me?" Five asked to grab the container.
"The stupid candy," Eight said, "Told you not to trust dessert anymore," she finished.
Five quickly handed the container to Eight and searched his pocket, and indeed the tracker beeped.
"She's good," he said before dropping it and stepping on it.
Eight rolled her eyes and opened the container taking out a fortune cookie, and cracking it open, "Time marches on...or does it? Rain Quail, Rm 12..." Eight read aloud as she looked at him and dropped the paper in his hand, "You go, I'll make sure these idiots don't die."
Five gripped the paper and nodded, "Stay safe okay?"
Eight nodded and leaned in and kissed his cheek, "You come back to me in one piece okay?"
Five nodded and turned and disappeared, leaving her to bowl with her siblings.
Walking back she was met with Diego's gaze, "Where's Five?" He questioned.
"Away for the time being," she replied, picking up a ball and walking up and pushing the ball forward. Strike.
After many, many, strikes, Luther and Allison returned.
"Where's Five?" He asked the blonde.
"Gone," she replied simply knowing their small brains wouldn't get the type of work they do.
"Oh for the love of..." Luther began.
"I don't know, now get to you speech moon boy," Eight said not interested in a long speech.
"We go to the Icarus Theatre," Luther said simply.
Eight rose her eyebrow, "Great leadership Number One," she said scoffing as she shoved popcorn in her mouth.
"That's a location, not a plan," Diego added but Luther remained silent, "What is that all you got? Look, you wanna be Number One, fine, but you're gonna have to get us on the same page, Because right now we're all over the place."
"You're right we need a plan," said Luther but was shushed by Eight who got Spidey-feeling.
"Take cover!" Was all she said when she shoved Diego out of the way as bullets began to rain on them.
"Who the hell are these guys!" Diego yelled as he now held Eight from getting hit by any bullets.
"Maybe they're here for Kenny's birthday!" Klaus said.
"No, you idiots! The Commission sent them," She yelled from under Diego's arms, "We need to get out of here!"
Diego quickly let of Eight and stood up shooting a knife at one of the men. Seems they hit the sound and light system as they fell. The building fell into a lot of glowing lights with Saturday Night blasting in the speakers.
"Diego give me one of your knives!"Eight yelled over the noise.
Without hesitation, he did as told and watched her fling it using her telekinesis, and hit her target, and just as it did she pulled it out and watched it soar to a new body.
Diego and Eight looked around for a way out but noticed the exit was blocked.
"Number One what's your plan!" Eight yelled as she huddled with Diego.
"The lanes! Let's go!" Luther yelled.
Diego grabbed Eight's hand as they sprinted down the lanes, and quickly slipped past the pins to the door in the back. The siblings were luckily able to get away.
As they reached the outside, Eight opened a portal, for her siblings.
"Well go on, we don't have all day," Eight said as his siblings looked at the portal suspiciously. The blonde groaned and enlarged the portal and moved it towards them, thus forcing them to step through. Now they all stood before the Icarus Theatre. And walked up the steps, but Allison but up her notepad and faced it towards her siblings, 'I need to go alone.'
"Allison, I can't let you do that, all right?" Luther said to her.
Eight nodded, "For once I agree with Boots here, we're in all this together. The more we wait the worse it'll be," she finished and walked forward to Diego who looked back at his siblings.
"You hear the music? It started," Diego told Luther.
"Do you honestly think she's gonna listen? After everything that's happened?" Luther asked suspiciously to make it look bad.
"Luther to you maybe not, but Allison and I have a chance here," Eight added, pulling Diego, but he pulled her back and let Allison go.
"Diego—" she was cut off by his hand and looked over at Luther.
"You're using her as a distraction aren't you?" Diego asked his brother as he watched Allison leave.
"Our best chance to incapacitate Vanya," Luther confirmed, "She'll thank us later."
Diego pulled Eight ahead as Luther stayed behind to talk to Klaus.
The duo spits up as Eight walked far behind Allison in case of anything, Eight stood in shock. She played so well....it was like the rehearsals in her room late in the night. The music played so profoundly, it felt alive, just like Vanya looked.
Out of nowhere Diego and Luther began running to the girl and Eight gasped, not agreeing to this plan. That's why Diego made her go the other way. But before either of them could touch her, Vanya stood and waved her bow sending a sound wave at the two. Making the duo soar through the air and landing forcefully. The crowd, shocked, got up from their seats and began running out of the auditorium. The musicians too got up, but another wave of her bow made them sit back down as she began to play her violin, this time stepping forward as she began to glow. Angrily she threw another wave at the brothers.
Eight stood still watching it all happen, she was shoved as the civilians ran out screaming. This wasn't the Vanya that she knew. Carefully she hid behind one of the chairs not knowing where her other siblings were.
All of a sudden there was the same Commission men running in, begging to shoot at the spotted siblings. This made the rest of the orchestra leave frantically, not to get shot. But Vanya kept on playing just as she continued to glow a pale blue-white.
Her blue eyes moved to her siblings that were hidden, looking around. But somehow she couldn't hear anything. Her breathing began to get ragged. Eight was having a panic attack. Far away she could hear bullets be shot again. This time someone gripped her face to look at them. It was Five, and it looked like he was talking to her, but she couldn't hear him. All she could see was his lips moving. Eight looked around and saw men continue to shoot at them. Suddenly she remembered something.
"Klaus," Eight said suddenly, removing herself from Five's hands. Getting up she walked out from her hiding spot. The men shot at her, and multiple voices screamed out for her. But no bullet hit her as they all disintegrated to dust before touching her.
"What the fuck?" Diego yelled seeing the blonde walk over to Klaus without being injured.
The man walked in and was targeted by the bullets, but was saved when Eight reached for him.
"Klaus I read your mind, dad was right about your potential," she told him, "If Ben really did punch you and saved Diego. He might be able to save us all, with your help," Eight encouraged.
Ben looked at Klaus and then at Eight, "Told you she believed in you," he laughed.
Klaus nodded and clenched his fist as they began to glow a bright hue of blue. His face showed struggle as he began to get up from the ground.
Eight smiled at his brother, she knew he had in him, he just held himself back all these years. Slowly Ben's body appeared growling a similar blue to Klaus' fists.
"Ben," Eight whispered happily, seeing her lost sibling.
Ben's ghost looked over at her and smiled, then yelling, releasing the beast. Grabbing all the gunmen above and near them. Either taking them or ripping them apart to their fatal end.
"How's the lookout?" Klaus asked as the men were finally killed, he looked over at Eight who was hunched on the floor and hugged her tight, "Thanks for believing in me."
Five rushed over to his wife who was in the middle aisle looking terrible. She was sweating, and he could feel the waves of heat coming off her body.
"Love, look at me, you have to help us," Five said gripping her face who was breathing hard.
Eight nodded weakly, and lifted her hands to his face, and pulled him into a kiss. Five was surprised but did not pull away. Rather he embraced her and kissed her harder. It was their first kiss in a very long time. The kiss was loving and tender. Her lips were soft just like he remembered. Still having the faint taste of strawberries for some reason.
Five pulled away breathing hard, "I thought you didn't want to kiss me when I looked like this," he chuckled as their foreheads touched.
"James told me to tell you, that he loves you," she said, pecking his lips once more, but this time pulling away completely.
Five's eyes widened, "You saw James?" he asked sadly, and the blonde nodded sadly.
"He's with my mother, in the house we used to live in," She said with a smile. Her husband just smiled in knowing his little boy was okay, wherever in the afterlife.
The two looked back at Vanya as her suit began to change to a brilliant white, just as the building began to shake and crack under the pressure she was creating.
Everyone huddled around each other, just as Diego got back.
"Hey, where were you?" Luther asked sarcastically.
"Honoring a memory," Diego replied back as he gave Five a look, "So, how do you wanna end this thing?"
"We surround her," Luther yelled, "Alright? We come at her from all angles," He told his siblings.
Five gripped his wife's hand knowing what was about to happen.
"So, a suicide mission," Klaus asked.
"Yeah, but one of us could get through. It's the only chance we got," Five said looking directly at Eight.
The blonde took a shaky breath, and squeezed his hand, "We all in?" she asked her siblings who all nodded.
"Yeah," they all nodded, as the building around them shook.
"Spread out, I'll take the dead center," Eight replied as her siblings took off. And Five released her hand.
Eight turned around and slowly walked up the aisle, she knew the warnings her father wrote were probably right, but right now she was the only one that could face Vanya's powers. The building dropped dust from the cracks the building created.
Her husband and siblings ran towards her, but like she knew was going to happen they were caught by her power.
Eight took a deep breath and let her powers go. Her hair and the rest of her body glowing a fiery golden. She levitated in the air, and just as if there was an invisible platform she began walking towards her sister.
"Vanya, let them go," Eight said as she walked past her sister's barrier.
The White Violin was confused as to how this was happening. She had easily broken past her barriers with her fire.
"Don't make me fight you," Eight threatened but she didn't listen.
The blonde walked closer her feet now on the stage, tears blurred her eyes as her hands now glowed bright orange and purple. Her power began to surround the two, orange, gold, red, and bits of purple swirled around them.
"We can help you if you let us," she told her now in front of her.
Vanya's bright light dropped her siblings as the power of Eight grew hotter and hotter. The ring grew small to the point it covered them up completely. And just like that, a large explosion of orange erupted in a ring around the two. Shutting down Vanya's blue-white force.
Gasping the women in white glowed for a moment and her stress and anger exploded in a ray towards the ceiling. Eight's powers quickly shut off as she reached for the falling Vanya, and caught her before she could touch the ground. The other siblings quickly surrounded her, Allison taking Vanya in her arms checking for injuries.
Five gripped his wife in a tight hug, glad that she was okay, "I didn't know you had that much power."
Eighth laughed into his neck, "Our son taught me how to control it," she said, crying just a little, thinking that everything was over.
"Of course that kid taught you," Five chuckled holding the blonde close to him.
The group was silent as they went over what happened in their heads, that was before Klaus said something, "Uh....guys?"
Five and Eight pulled away from their hug and looked up to where he was pointing.
"You see that big Moon rock coming towards us?" he asked his siblings.
The duo stood from the ground and held hands as they did indeed see the flaming rock hurtling towards earth. They didn't stop the apocalypse.
"That's not good," Luther said wide-eyed, also staring at the flying rock.
"So this is it? So much for....saving the world," Klaus said disappointedly looking down at his dog tags.
"If only Sir Reginald could see us now...The Umbrella Academy. A total failure," Diego said standing and staring at their incoming end.
"At least we were together in the end, as a family," Luther said looking around at his siblings.
Eight looked down at their intertwined hands, "Five when I read Father's journals on me he said that usually The Force amplified my powers. My portals would be too dangerous to test, as We'd get stuck in some other universe for all we know. But I can amplify your ability with time-manipulation...." Eight told Five as he was trying to think of anything.
Five looked at her and realized it could be possible. He didn't know if alone he'd be strong enough to take everyone back in time. But with Eight they might have a shot. "Eight's right, this might not have to be the end of this."
Luther looked back at Five, just as all the other siblings did, "What are you two talking about?"
"I think I have a way outta here, but you have to trust me," Five told his siblings.
But the boys all shook their heads, "Uh no thanks," it's not that they didn't trust Five, it's they didn't trust Five.
Eight groaned, "Okay well trust me," she said over to them and they gave each other a look, "Look we don't have long before anything, in less than...." she looked down at her bare wrist and looked up, "a minute we'll be nothing but dust."
"What's your idea then?" Diego asked the married couple.
"We use my ability to time travel, but this time I'll take you all with me. Last time I was able to take Eight with me, but all of you I'm not so sure," he explained to all of them.
"Five that doesn't help our situation—" Diego said towards Five.
"—Listen, idiot, he won't have to try too hard, I'll be using my ability to amplify his powers enough to get us out of here," The blonde explained towards her stupid siblings.
"Can you both do this?" Diego finally asked.
"We don't know, first time," Five replied.
"What's the worst that can happen?" Diego suddenly said realizing it's either death or time travel.
"You're looking at them, 58-year-olds stuck in different aged bodies," Five said looking briefly at his wife.
"Oh, what the hell? I'm in," Diego confirmed looking at his other siblings.
Klaus still clutching his tags nodded, "Yeah, whatever. I'm in."
"Me too. Allison?" Luther agreed now looking at Allison who held Vanya's unconscious body.
The curly-haired woman nodded confirming her thoughts.
"Ben?" Eight asked making sure not to leave her brother out.
The ghost of Ben smiled, now knowing his sibling counted him in, even if he was dead.
"Great, yeah, he's in," Klaus confirmed looking at the blonde.
"Okay, great. Luther, grab Vanya," Five asked as he moved to her.
Luther did as he was told but looked up, "Wait, should we be taking her? I mean, if she's the cause of the apocalypse. Isn't that like taking the bomb with us?"
"Vanya may always cause the apocalypse, but this time we have a chance to train her, get her used to this new power. I know I'll be able to help her," Eight said as her siblings surrounded each other.
"Okay all of you grab onto each other," Eight said as they followed her instructions, as they did she grabbed a hold of either side Five's face and nodded.
Five and Eight both looked into each other's eyes as their powers worked together. Slowly her hair began to float and glow in its familiar gold. Just then her powers built a bridge for Five to activate his much easier. Opening the large tear in time, where it began to open larger around them. The couple groaned as they pushed their abilities to their max, as the electricity around them began to crackle. Five's blue mixed with Eight's bright colorful hues of oranges, and reds.
"Hold on! It's gonna get messy!" Five yelled to his siblings.
Just then all the sibling's flickered to their young bodies, all matching Five's. And with a final push from the two, the tear in space zapped them off into a new time. Just in time before the Moon's destruction took everything with her.
thank you so much for reading! I’ll see you soon for the next season.
