my favourite Big Irony of succession is that, with their skills combined, the 4 roy kids would be the perfect ceo. Connor has self-assurance and does what he wants regardless of what Logan or the siblings say, a skill none of the other 3 have. Kendall has all the actual experience and qualifications to run a company that none of his siblings do, but no will to act without Logan's approval. Shiv has a sharp political understanding her siblings don't so sees mass trends and morality in a way the other 3 desperately fail at. Roman hasn't got political experience or great business instincts or a will of his own, but he can reel in people and be liked (when he wants to) in a way his sibs struggle to be. If you could fold the roy siblings into one person with shiv's political sense, connor's willpower, kendall's actual business experience, and roman's ability to be liked (when he needs to) - you'd have the perfect ceo. This is why Logan flip flops between them for successor, not just because he's an abusive dick, but because they do each genuinely have one or two qualities that pull them ahead of one another in different situations. But by making them compete as little individual neoliberal monsters of reganomics, Logan robs them of the ability to learn from one another and dooms them (and therefore himself) to fail and I think that's a truly delicious irony. God I miss that show.

One of the fun things about going through the modern persona games backwards was definitely seeing the different justice arcana people, because in persona 5 you have Akechi who is a persona user who murdered people. Persona 4 has Nanako who is child, and then in persona 3 is Ken (we are ignoring Chihiro for the moment even though I do like her social link) who is a child who has a persona and attempts murder. It's like a fusion of the two justice arcana people you've seen before, but because persona 3 came out before the other two games it's actually more like they split Ken apart into two separate characters.

I think there is something in this season on dndads where even when there is inter-pc conflict, I’m never not on someone’s side. Like in the most recent episode, I’m not mad at scary for being a teenage girl in a rough mental state manipulated by an abusive asshole, but I’m also not mad at Lincoln for being upset with her for bringing that man into his house and letting him kill someone. It’s a testament to how good I think the cast is doing this season in being transparent with character motivations and how good they are at embodying real teenagers where it’s not black and white. Also, like it’s fiction and sometimes it’s annoying to feel so strongly about a conflict that doesn’t exist, but with this I feel like I can just enjoy it as an entertaining and interesting level to this podcast. It’s not even a phenomenon I experienced in season one, I liked when the dads argued cause it was funny, but I definitely had sides and idk I’m nothing but excited to see where the story goes, from the bottom of my heart, I just think it’s good fiction
