I think it’s interesting how they mentioned how alice tries to go back to alfred after her book is torn apart, and the red cross nurse clocks it and screams at her. all this time I thought the red cross nurse was screaming at harold for jumping onto the bed, but turns out she’s screaming at alice for trying to go back to alfred.

IDK that I've ever put it in one post before, but here's the transplant speedrun.
1 - Valentines day 2021, he's admitted to the hospital. We take a pre-hospital selfie then I shave his head and he shaves his beard because he doesn't want to deal with hair at the hospital. Me and his mom drop him off; at that point you can only visit someone as they are actually dying and we're told that he's going to stay in the hospital until he gets a transplant or he dies, and if he's rejected as a transplant recipient he'll receive palliative care in this hospital.
2 - First week of March, they allow patients to have one screened visitor; this is our first visit - I take photos in the hospital to show his mom because at this point he has a pump in his shoulder and it is difficult for him to move his arms to use his phone. He has also been confined to a bed since the week he arrived because he's on the ECMO machine, so he can't walk or move around, though they stand him up every once in a while. At one point one of the ecmo tubes pulls out of his femoral artery, which is Not! Great! He also needed a blood transfusion about every two days at that point, which worried the doctors because it increased his likelihood of rejecting. But he had been approved for transplant at that point!
The first thing he said to me on this visit was "look, I have abs" and then he showed me his abs because it turns out when you're really really dying of heart failure your body begins to eat itself.
3 - Now That's What I Call Jaundice (cardiac cirrhosis is liver failure as a result of heart failure and it's pretty much the big giant neon flashing sign of heart failure that says "hey you're fucking dying" so if you've got heart failure and your bilirubin number is off or the whites of your eyes are yellow please kick up a gigantic stink until they check your liver; large bastard's GP, who is my doctor, who I hate, saw his bloodwork with a very high bilirubin number a month before he was diagnosed with cardiac cirrhosis and wrote it off as a testing fluke fuck that guy)
4 - Don't let the sad face fool you, he's acting pathetic so that his mom will stop yelling about the fact that I'm bringing him cookies. He's allowed to have cookies. At that point he weighed 98kg and was outsourcing his heartbeat, he was allowed to eat whatever he wanted. (have i mentioned that I was moving us from Vegas to LA at this time? I was bringing him cookies because I'd baked hundreds of peanut butter cookies and other cookies to use up the flour, sugar, and peanut butter in the vegas house)
5 - Mid-march, he's got a match! He called me when I was in Vegas filling up the truck with another load and I drove right back and to the hospital. Once he went in for surgery I drove to his mom's house and crashed, then woke up and drove to our storage unit and unpacked the truck while I waited to hear from the doctors. I was unloading a bookcase when I got the call. (There wasn't any point in waiting alone in the hospital for sixteen hours; either he was going to make it or he wasn't and someone was going to have to unload the truck at some point. People have been weird about this, like I should have been sitting at his side all the time, but there was a two-hour daily limit for most visits and look i have sat in a waiting room while this dude had a thirteen hour surgery i do not need a repeat of that experience without the soothing balm of nicotine getting me through it; so unloading a truck it was)
6 - Two days after surgery and kind of mad about it. His chest hurt a lot (obviously) but, like, a lot a lot because they'd had to open him up for the bypass just two years earlier.
7 - First walk outside of his room after transplant in early April; he needed a LOT of PT because of how much muscle he'd lost. He lost sixty pounds in the hospital before the surgery, and only gained back about twenty while he was in there.
8 - A visit from the tiny doggo
9 - I come to visit and I've got a new phone with a portrait mode so he steals it and takes stupid pictures for a few minutes. Dude is bored and restless; this is in late april and he's feeling well enough to be moody. ETA: There is a jar of pickles in front of him because he'd been fluid limited for a long time and his salt levels were off and when he got to the hospital they were like "you need electrolytes and a lot of salt" and he was like "sweetheart can you please please please bring me delicious salty things" so I was bringing him jars of pickled mushrooms and garlic stuffed olives and just a huge number of pickles that he kept trying to share with the nurses. "Alli brought the mushrooms again; would you like a pickled mushroom? I have fancy toothpicks to share them with!"
10 - He comes home for the first time in early May; he ends up getting readmitted two more times because of complications before finally being released in early July. ETA: The second time he got readmitted it was for something that he wasn't at all worried about but that they needed to monitor for a couple weeks so he was *SO BORED* and actually feeling pretty okay; so at one point when I was leaving the parking garage at 8pm my car wouldn't start, I did some troubleshooting with the manual and the internet and didn't figure it out, so I called him and he tried to troubleshoot over the phone and got frustrated and was begging his nurses to let him come out to the parking structure to work on my car (they refused) - I ended up getting a tow and fixing it when I replaced the battery terminals.
Photos are all posted with his permission.
Also I dyed my hair purple between photos one and two because it's his favorite color. I also bought a blue dress, red tights, and yellow shoes to wear to visit him because he always teases me for wearing so much black.
I just love him a lot. It was a hard couple years there, but things are getting better.

hi doggo! i keep wondering, as technology develops, would typewriter heads be eventually replaced with laptops, and would landline/cell phone heads be replaced with smartphones?
I could see it potentially happening one day, but no time soon. There already are laptop + smartphone heads of course (the demo title screen shows someone with a laptop head!), but the irony is that most people already have smartphones and laptops, so they're not really 100% necessary.
There's a lot of complex reasons why rotary phone + typewriter heads never died out, but a core reason why they never ended up being replaced by a similar, but more useful device (say a TV head or something with a screen) is that humans are beings of habit and that most people won't get their head changed unless it's super important to some part of their character. Phones and typewriters are the default given at birth, after all, because it's always been that way.
You could argue that the phone heads aren't really useful for the same reasons smartphone/laptop heads wouldn't be either, for much the same reason (the final DT route has a throwaway line from Karen where she brings up her smartphone) but given that inorganic heads are no longer the default (by Crown's design, of course), people tend to go for the default... unless they have a reason to change.
Lots of people do, of course, but for the average person, it's an expensive procedure to get done to you, and very difficult to perform on oneself. This is why you could view the head as more of a display of complete identity than a completely 1:1 replacement for gender. Most people with atypical heads in Dialtown have their entire lives structured around their head in some way.
Practically, vacuum tube + landline technology has the obvious advantage of being far cheaper to maintain/repair. This is the main second reason why modern tech heads haven't really caught on.
When I worked in antiques, I spent a lot of time with an old repairman who specialized in vacuum tube TV/radio repairs and he told me how circuit-boards basically annihilated his old job. Back then, you could be a repairman as a trade and actually change out individual parts when something went bad. As long as you understood how a TV or radio worked, you could repair any device by isolating the part that wasn't working and then swap it out. Nowadays, tech is made to be used for a few years and then discarded outright + replaced.
Gabby mentions in her store that poorer folk have to opt for doing self repair sometimes, in the same way poorer folks in OUR world might have to cut their own hair or god forbid, pull out their own teeth, if they go rotten. So, head-type (to a large extent) can be tied to class too, since a newer device (if it went faulty) would be a nightmare to repair, and it WOULD need to be repaired eventually, as laptops + phones tend to slow down somewhat in only a few years of operation and even deteriorate to the point of being obsolete in less than a decade! Not ideal for the thing housing your brain, no?
Hope this helps!!!

I just wanted to highlight this beautiful artwork that my good friend, Chis a.k.a. @whosthewhatnow created for me.
This drawing was inspired by this post about my dad and his animal magnetism.
If you don't recall, I said...
"I’ve always said I don’t believe in heaven but I do believe in dog heaven.
It is my hope FrogDad gets special permission to go there and hang with Otis, MacGyver, Reggie, and Buttons."
I also mentioned this in my eulogy...
I said that we had pet newts as children. However, when I went to look up pet newts, none of them looked like what we had. In fact, I couldn't find any lizards that looked like what we had. Perhaps they were some kind of lizard that was a popular pet in the 80s but fell out of favor with pet stores.
In any case, the mystery lizards are sneaking into Doggie Heaven.
And, of course, there is my dad's famous John Deere riding mower that he used to take Otis on countless walks.
Tumblr media
And Chris included all of the beloved doggos of my childhood.
My first was a Welsh Corgi named Buttons.
Tumblr media
She would walk me more than I walked her...
Tumblr media
Then we adopted a Cairn Terrier named Reggie.
Tumblr media
Reggie was found at an illegal breeding facility and rescued. He was kept in a cage nearly all of his life and it pained him to walk on hard surfaces for several months until his paws healed. We suspect he was abused by a large male, because he was terrified of my dad when we brought him home. He would run under the bed anytime my dad entered the room. This was probably the ultimate test of my dad's dog whispering powers. He slowly and patiently worked with Reggie, devising all kinds of creative trust exercises. He would lay on the floor with his belly exposed and start crying and acting sad. Trying to show Reggie he was harmless and pathetic and nothing to fear. And every time Reggie got close, my dad would bribe him with cheese.
And just like every other dog we've had, my dad won Reggie over and they became best friends. They were constant cuddle buddies.
No other large male could ever get close to Reggie. My dad ended up being the only one he would ever trust.
We felt Reggie could use a companion to help cure his trauma and depression and maybe help him socialize a little better.
So... we got a puppy!
Tumblr media
My first ever experience with a puppy. He was a West Highland White Terrier--commonly referred to as a "Westie."
We wanted a name that paid respect to his Scottish heritage and we loved this popular show on the boob tube in which a man fixed things with chewing gum and a paperclip.
So I suggested we name him after that favorite TV hero...
Angus MacGyver!
Or "Mac" for short.
MacGyver was a bit like Otis 1.0. He was a tiny ball of energy. He loved to play. He was mischievous, but always cute about it, so he rarely got in trouble. Though he was not nearly as smart as Otis. If dogs could take IQ tests, Otis would have tested as a genius. I am embarrassed to admit how often I was outwitted by a hairy loaf with legs.
But MacGyver was just a normie. Not dumb. Not a genius.
Reggie didn't know what to do with a puppy at first. But once Mac grew up a little and calmed down a lot, they did end up being proper pupper pals.
Doggo dudes.
Canine cohorts.
Scottish scalawags.
Reggie mostly just sat at a distance as MacGyver did dumb things. Mac would get into trouble and when we caught him, Reggie would just stare at us like, "I was an impartial observer. I had no part in these shenanigans."
Tumblr media
And last, but certainly not least... I think you all remember this troublemaker.
Tumblr media
My dad was all cuddles and play time.
But my mom and Otis had a very special relationship as well. Otis would "help" my mom with her chores. They'd go from room to room and my mom would do her cleaning and dusting and vacuuming. And Otis would disrupt all of it--to her delight. She liked to talk to him like he was an adult human. She swore he could understand her. They'd just gab and clean.
Their antics doing chores together inspired one of my favorite Corg Life comics that Chris also drew.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, thank you to Chris for always creating such beautiful things for me.
If you need any artwork, I highly recommend hiring him. He even does watercolor paintings.

F/O Headcanons: Luke Edition!
(More will be added with time)
Despite all of his protests, his insistences that he isn’t a kid, he really just wants to be babied and doted on a lil’ bit
His favorite gemstones are aquamarine and topaz
He smells like vanilla
He loves to cuddle, but he won’t say it, instead he’ll say stuff like ‘well, you look cold’ or ‘you seem shaken up’ as an excuse
He does like dogs, but he has a subconscious preference for big dogs. Partially due to the natural kid attraction to big, strong and fully entities and also because he (unknowingly) recognizes that most of the bigger doggos are lazy gentle giants which are not only very attractive personalities for kids but also great personalities to have around them in general.
He actually doesn’t mind the brothers presences as much as he gripes about them. He did at first, but now it’s more of just a tsundere lil’ brother thing where they reach that age where they pretend to be too cool to look up to their older siblings (despite the fact they still do).
His signature flower is an oxeye daisy
Cats, specifically younger cats, are very cuddly with him. (Satan would never admit it but he finds it utterly heart melting)
He likes cooking games, like cooking mama, cooking simulator, the papa’s games, etc.
More of a tea person
Has a bad habit of keeping frosting tubes in his nightstand to snack on, he throws them away at RAD so Simeon won’t find out. Solomon, however, is fully aware but doesn’t address it as Luke is good with restraint and he also feels that the little angel deserves to be able to be a lil’ bit naughty.
He’s a huge fan of plushies with star motifs.
Not much of a fan of greasy foods. Sure, he enjoys it occasionally, but he honestly just prefers fresher and healthier foods.
His favorite fruits are blueberries
Has super soft hair, perfect for headpats, which is great because he loves headpats!
Has a pale blue gecko named Cupcake.

For my UK mutuals
As requested I'm not interacting but I have a lot to say about surviving extreme weather as American who has survived half a century of extreme weather in the midwest.
I lived in uninsulated attic bedroom without ac as a child and these are things I learned to do when I was little:
Close up the windows and shut the blinds as the day is heating up. Wait to open things up until after the sun goes down. Use fans to circulate air into the house early in the a.m. when it's colder outside than inside. Use your fans to circulate air around the house during the heat of the day. Use your fans to push air OUT of the house again in the evening. If you push air out an upper story window it will draw some colder air from below.
Save activities/errands for evenings and early mornings. Stay out of the sun as much as possible. Use umbrellas for shade. Wear a hat. Lose fitting clothing in a breathable (cotton, linen, light weight wool) fabric is much better than exposed skin if you have to go in the sun. If you want to go to the beach go early in the morning or in the evening. Don't swim in the heat of the day. If you are in charge of when you work, avoid doing it in the heat of day. If you run a shop, cafe or other business, change your hours to avoid being open during "siesta hours" (2-5 p.m.) If possible try to work from home to avoid commuting during the heatwave. The more people on the Tube the hotter it's going to be down there.
Cars left in the sun are subject to the greenhouse effect and will be much hotter than outside temperatures. Open your car windows and doors before you drive and run the fan to push the hot air out. If you are traveling carry the following: Cold drinking water, a sports drink, nut milk or cow's milk are preferable to soda, coffee or tea but any of those three are preferable to nothing. Even if your vehicle has a.c. you still need more hydration to deal with the heat.
Also useful for travel: bandana or towel (more on that later), sun hat, handheld fan (for when you are stuck in traffic). In America they sell these shields that you can put over your windshield to prevent the greenhouse effect. Not sure if they sell them in the Old Country, but here is a tutorial for making one out of cardboard. All of this stuff (minus the sunshade) would be useful on public transport.
That other post talks about how its bad to wear wet clothes in the sun because water acts as a lens but wet clothing can be your best friend in the shade! A bandana dipped in cold/cool water and wrapped around your neck will keep you cool until it dries. For sleeping I often place a cold bandana or washcloth on my face or forehead. You can dampen a towel and sit on it (this is a great trick for long car rides in the heat) Alternatively: Hot water bottles can also be COLD WATER BOTTLES. Just add ice. They make ice trays that make skinny little shapes to fit into water bottles, and they can help turn your hwb into an ice pack.
Cold/cool showers and baths especially right before bed if you have trouble sleeping in the heat. Kiddie pools or animal troughs in the shade are great for keeping people and doggos cool.
Cranking your fridge to its lowest setting will make it cool more but the heat that is pumped out of the fridge goes right into your house. Keep your fridge at the warmest temp you can get away with. Likewise televisions and computers pump out of a ton of heat when they are running.
IF YOU LOSE POWER
The temptation to rely on your refrigerator/freezer is obvious but the first thing that happens in a heat wave in America is the power grid goes down.
Think about buying a solar powered fan now, before the grid goes down...
Make sure you have batteries charged ahead of time.
If you rely on candles or lanterns for power outtages, consider a source of light that doesn't add heat to the environment, like a solar powered LED lantern.
Another piece of equipment that could literally save your life: a marine cooler.
If/when the worst happens: take some large frozen items out of freezer/deepfreeze and put it in a cooler with some essentials from your fridge. Deeply frozen food will keep those other things cool for a day or more (depending on your cooler). Try to keep the fridge and freezer shut then after you have filled your cooler so that the remaining cool air will keep things as long as possible. If you go multiple days without power you may need to throw everything out anyway, but you might get away with it if you are careful and have a good cooler.
A marine cooler kept out of the sun will keep ice for days. We started camping with one and we no longer have to do any kind of mid-trip ice stock up. Also: block ice will stay frozen so much longer than cubes. If you have the space in your freezer, buy some now and stash it before you need it.
Fresh fruit and vegetables that don't require cooking are a great way to get more liquids and feed yourself without making your house any hotter or using electricity. If consumed quickly they don't need refrigeration either.
This is a wacky one but hear me out: hammocks. If you can hang a hammock do it! Sleeping suspended like that air circulates around your body and you will be so much cooler. I was in tropical Mexico a few years ago and all of the houses had hammock hooks built into the walls to take advantage of the cooling effect. Bonus: you can pretend to be Captain Jack Aubrey while you're lying there...

Got tagged by @arts-i-enjoy at just the right time to be able to do one of these things. It's a nifty ask game!
Are you named after anyone?
I think my middle name is based off of some kind of Sears or Eatons model but I cannot verify this.
When was the last time you cried?
Ahh ha ha haha. next please.
Do you have kids?
Nah.
What sports do you play/have you played?
Competitively I used to play a lot. Hockey, curling, ringette, baseball, gymnastics, ice skating, volleyball, basketball. - Basically the only team sport that I didn't participate in was soccer because I couldn't stand soccer. Non-competitively I did rock climbing, general obstacle courses, roller blading, swimming, tubing/water skiing/wakeboarding, archery, hiking, snowmobiling, downhill and cross country skiiing... Dodge ball > : )
Do you use sarcasm?
No. Never. [/sarcasm]
What is the first thing you notice about people?
I don't really notice things in a particular order.... I guess someone's style since I usually notice like... earrings, pins, cute sweaters, neat beards.... novel stimuli is what I notice if I notice people.
What's your eye color?
Brown
Scary movies or happy endings?
Why not both?
Any talents?
I'd like to think I have quite a few. I can sing pretty well, I can draw pleasing things, I'm pretty good at making people laugh. I am a good listener and apparently good to bounce things off of. I got a lot of those "soft skills" you always hear about but can never monetize, lol. But I am content with just being helpful for the people in my life.
Where were you born?
Canada.
What are your hobbies?
Art, video games and animal keeping are the biggins because they are what I have the most energy for. I pick up and drop various physical hobbies (crossstitch, knitting, clay modeling) all the time though but none have a lot of staying power. I like the learning process more than anything, I think.
Can just "learning" be a hobby I guess?
Do you have any pets?
1 Doggo, 2 cats, 1 tiny parrot!
How tall are you?
Short enough to cause problems. 5'2" ish.
Favorite subject in school?
In school? Philosophy and Culture classes were probably my favs.
Dream job?
Ah haha. In a dream world, I want to be a little Renaissance Man with a patron who pays all my bills and leaves me to create. Occasionally asking for something specific to which I can bend my mind to, but otherwise allowed to create freely at my own pace. In reality? I don't really have job aspirations since my disability is so bad, but I'd love something just simple like working at a small town grocer or something. (lol, I say in reality as though big chains haven't made the concept of a general store all but nonexistent outside of extremely rural places ... and even then....) When I was in grade 6 we were supposed to like make plans and figure out what we wanted to do with our lives and I thought it was dumb because I was 12 and knew there were jobs out there I'd never even concieved of so how was I to pick right now? So I just said a dumb answer like I wanted to run a convenience store and didn't take it seriously. Though the more I am out in the world the more I think 12 year old me was right. Just a nice mostly quiet job serving my community, dealing with the public and all that entails but not necessarily the same overwhelming level as retail. And not like... in a city. Small town or bust for this dream I think.
So... uh...tagging... uh..... @evilweasel24 , @ravenbara , @rembrandtswife , @localcryptideli , um..um...um... that's all who I can think of to tag in this I am sorry v.v

Going in to the vet ER every day for over a week has really shone light on how many different.... kinds of pet owners there are
and im almost kind of mad to find out i am not the most common kind. not gonna lie. bc i feel like i should be.
theres the ones who come in and sit there and bitch and leave because the triage system determined that their pet is in stable enough condition that the docs need to focus on more critical ones ahead of it and waiting is too much of a hassle despite whatever concern originally brought them to an emergency vet. the my dog ate a grape and was puking all morning and twitching and acting very strange but i dont want to wait TWO HOURS for them to be able to do the testing needed to make sure she puked all of the poison out of her system and wont like, get organ failure or some other invisible issue for it, bc she "seems fine now", so instead i'm going home. these ones piss me off, and are common.
theres the ones who come in to the emergency room with their nice pet in its nice carrier and then look at the front desk clerk like theyre abso-fucking-lutely insane when they ask them if they'd like to consent to CPR in case of cardiac arrest while under ER care, and fervently shake their head and say no, for a CAT? no, no, no... i'm not paying to give CPR to an animal. That's ridiculous. these ones piss me off, and are very common.
and there's ones like the lady and gentleman i sat by today. the lady who had clearly been crying, saw my carrier as I sat, and immediately asked about my pet. Who looked at me with big, sad eyes when I told her the story of what happened to Bojji, and who with a shaky voice told me the vets here are so compassionate, how she was so scared coming in today that she was going to have to put down her 15 year old dog, because its behavior had been so abrupt and scary (seems suddenly her left legs just, wouldnt work?), but they took the dog in immediately and comforted her. She was so shook and the stoic, silent-type man with her (husband, I presume,) was sort of sympathetically frowning and gently patting her arm or leg and i was like. oh, no. i see what kind you are. you're me. so LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT HOW GREAT THE DOCTORS HERE ARE. so i got to gush about how much the vets there clearly love the pets they care for and how they worked with me and explained everything every step of the way to make sure i can get bojji to the finish line bc they want to see the happy ending just as much as we do, and i got to see hope shine in this poor lady's eyes even before the doc finally came out. they told them their doggy was stable and scans arent showing any injuries or growths like cancer so its very likely doggo is suffering some temporal lobe issues--frustrating, likely due to old age, but can be helped out with treatment, and is nothing to be put to sleep over, certainly. the lady was so relieved, and even her husband seemed to perk up once their lil doggy was back in their arms. these types i adore and wish there were more of. before the doc came out we had talked a while about old pets, other folks pets, etc, and it was just clear the both of them adored this dog like she was their whole world and would do whatever it took to make sure she could continue her long, happy life. like pet owners should.
then a lady came in who had witnessed an untagged-but-collared dog get hit and run by a car by the side of a freeway out in nowhere lands and risked getting in trouble with state troopers for stopping on the side of the road to help it. said doggo was alive and even had her head up when riding the gurney in. despite the tagless collar the dog wasnt chipped so had no proof of ownership and was taken in as a stray, and the kind person who brought her in left with hope in her heart of seeing that doggo later on the humane society's website alive and ready to be adopted to a loving home. i, who had to sit there longer while awaiting the return of my cat whose tubes were being drained, had to deal with gaining the heart breaking knowledge that said doggo won't be making it to the humane society at all. after overhearing doctors in the back mention something being "entirely shattered", after which the listening party looked especially grim, I daresay the surgical intervention this dog likely needs is not going to have a financial backing of any sort thanks to being a "stray". i guess at least that woman's kindness means in her final moments, that doggy won't be in pain, rather than slowly dying alone and cold down in the ditch she had tumbled into after the hit. i hate that its all that woman's kindness would amount to. i hate that some person didnt even put a fucking tag with a goddamned phone number on their dog's collar. you're gonna make me go to bed tonight knowing that poor helpless dog had a fucking careless owner who let her get as far astray as a freeway, who cared enough to mark her as property but not enough to take fucking responsibility for said property, and that she needlessly experienced massive painful physical trauma and is dying tonight at a depressingly young age because the people who had her in hands and could have saved her had nobody to ask permission to do so to. do you even know she's gone? do you even care?
if i ever meet that kind of pet owner, i dont make any promises i would be able to stay civil

Heyyyyyyy HLVRAI fandom! I'm a new fan, and I don't usually ask about AUs so quickly, but one won't leave my mind. I'll make my own interpretation if I have time, but I'm also interesting in seeing if it's been handled before!
(under the cut: spoilers for Act 3 and finale)
There's no way Gordan didn't get effected by radioactive sludge, raw sewage, and Gatorade(tm) (as well as dirt, rocks, and who knows what else) making direct contact with a gaping open wound. Especially in a facility with crazy supernatural and alien occurrences everywhere. The gun arm is a cool upgrade, but not as weird as Sweet Voice, SuperLegs(TM), test tube babies, or inventing an immortal png doggo. So are there any AUs where Gordan IS effected? Anywhere from becoming straight up eldritch horror to slight "creaturing"? (Self-promo allowed, heck yeah share your personal AUs!!)

Did you ever pretend you were someone else as a favor for a friend? No. I’ve been in a situation where someone did that for me and my friend, though. Do you think men prefer curvy women or skinny women? I think it depends on the individual. Everyone has their own preferences.  Do you own a water gun? No, but I have mist fan. It’s a must for me during the summer.  What item most embarrasses you to purchase? I’m 33 and still feel weird when I’m buying undergarments lol.  Do you know any actual dances or do you just move to the music? All the dancing I do is just bobbing my head and moving my arms and shoulders a bit.
Do you eat pork and beans? Blech, no.  What is the last thing you refered to as legit? Hm. I don’t remember.  Or do you think that term is lame? lol I say it sometimes.  Do you give cards to people for holidays or events? Sometimes. I’m conflicted when it comes to cards cause I kinda feel like they’re a waste and some of them are too pricy for what it is, but on the other hand they’re cute and can be nice.  Do you have anything hanging from the ceiling of your room? Just the ceiling fan.  The rear view mirror of your car? I don’t have a car, I don’t drive.  which do you prefer, dr or dentist? Neither. Do you know which side your appendix is on? I do.  Do you have the fixins in your fridge to make a sandwich? What kind? I don’t know what’s in my fridge right now, I haven’t been home for 3 months.  Are any walls of your room blank? No. When was the last time you ate fruit? Back in May.  What color are your favorite shoes? Black with white stripes Adidas.  If someone was willing to tell your crush you liked them would you let them? I don’t have a crush on anyone.  Do you know the zodiac signs of your friends? I don’t have friends, either.  Favorite dog ever, real life and cartoon. My doggos are my fave of course. My favorite cartoon dog is Goofy.  Do you own anything with fur on it? What? No. Do you choose surveys based on their titles? Sometimes, like if it says what type of survey it is and it’s not one I feel like taking.  what would be worse for you, unplanned pregnancy or cancer? Cancer. I can’t get pregnant, so that’s not a concern of mine.  What was the last thing you made from scratch? My brother and I made our dough for sugar cookies last Christmas.  Do you drink any hot beverages? What? Coffee, tea, hot chocolate.  Do you put Q-tips in your ear or just round the outside? I’m careful about not putting them too far in.  Have you ever popped another person's zit? EW, NO. I think that’s so disgusting.  When was the last time you listened to a radio,NOT online? It’s been awhile.  Do you have any odious chores hanging over your head? No. What is the last thing you confessed to someone? I don’t recall.  Have you ever told a friend to dump their SO? Did they? Basically, yes. Her boyfriend treated her like shit. She eventually did breakup with him.  Name two things you put whipped cream on? Hot chocolate and frappes.  Who is the last person who saw you with bare feet? My nurses and my mom.  What do you think is the coolest piercing on someone else? I like ear piercings and lip piercings. I wanted snakebites when I was like 16.  If I wasn’t such a scardy cat I’d get more ear piercings, but as of now the only piercings I have are my earlobes. Colored tattoos or plain? It just depends.  Do you ever eat peanut butter straight from the jar? I have, but it’s not something I do often. I don’t even recall the last time I did.  Do you know how to ride a bike? Do you own one? No. What was the last pill you took for? Pain medication.  How many devices do you own that hook up to internet? Four of my own items, but there’s several other things in my house that do as well.  Any best friends you only know online? No. Do you ever talk to your next door neighbor? No. Do most of your friends live in houses, apartments or mobiles? -- Did anything shock you today? I was surprised to hear the hole where the trachea tube was is already significantly smaller and it was just taken out yesterday.  What is the thing you last stubbed your toe on? I don’t have that issue as someone in a wheelchair.  Favorite faux curse word I say “dang”, “shoot”, and “hecka.”  Who do you tease most often and what about? My brother and I playfully tease each other.  slip on or lace up shoes? Lace up.  Thing you stress over most about the holidays. I tend to get too caught up in the gift shopping for my family cause I love getting them stuff, but I end up stressing myself out because of the money. I know it’s not what Christmas is all about and my family appreciates whatever I can give or even if I couldn’t get anything, it’s just me stressing myself out.  Food you take a second helping of on Thanksgiving? I go pretty hard on the appetizers more than the actual food to be honest, but I sometimes go back for more of the main course. Especially stuffing and rolls.   Would you rather spend Thanksgiving with friends or family? I always spend the holidays with my family.  Most disgusting bug. I don’t like any bug.  nastiest thing in your fridge. *shrug* song you hate but keep singing anyway. I can’t think of one right now, but I do tend to get songs I don’t like stuck in my head.  cookies or brownies. Mmm, both.  Do you own any movie soundtracks? Which? I have The Sound of Music on vinyl.  How many pillows do you sleep with? I’ve been using 5 while here in the hospital. I’m surrounded by pillows and then have one across my lap I use as a desk for laptop.  Favorite outdoors smell. The ocean air at the beach and wood burning smell in the fall.  are you wearing a hoodie right now? No. Do you ever sleep in your day clothes? Yeah. My day clothes and night clothes are mainly the same, just leggings and a graphic tee. T-shirt dresses, too.  Do you prefer your clothes loose or close fitting? With leggings and jeans I like them to be close fitting, but my shirts and sweatshirts are a little baggy. I used to like all my clothes to be more form fitting, but oversized tees are much more comfortable.  Are your fave pants jeans? I live in leggings or t-shirt dresses. I haven’t worn jeans in like 5 years.  Do you own any under things bought to impress the opposite sex? No. Favorite thing you've ever painted? I like the ceramic Easter decor thingy I painted this year. It was a fun little activity my brother and I did.  Do you eat applesauce? Yeah. I didn’t eat it often, but that’s actually one of the many foods I’ve been craving lately. Once I’m able to eat and drink again I have to start out slow, so that will be one of the food items I have. Are there any songs that remind you of your mother? Yes. If you had a sister, would you prefer her older or younger? Why? Older, but close to my age.  What is something you wanted to say today, but didnt? I can’t think of anything.  Where are your keys right now? At home.  Is there any product you always buy at the dollar store? Yes, Andy Capp’s cheddar cheese fries chips.  Can you recite any prayers by heart? No. When it's your birthday, do you have the correct number of candles? I’m 33, we’re long past putting individual candles lol. I’ll just get the number candles or none at all.  birthday cake alone, or cake and ice cream? Mmm, both.

Summary: it’s one of those things where dan’s been meaning to do it for ages. if he’s being honest with himself, he’s surprised phil hasn’t done it first, hasn’t beaten him to it the way he beat dan to everything else (saying i love you first, asking dan to be his officially, taking them out on their first date and paying for it all without ever even telling dan what it was meant to be), but he’s glad as well when he walks past the pet shop six blocks away from their new apartment and see’s…them.

⭐⭐⭐⭐~ FleshTatteredFleshReborn (for Victor)
For each “⭐️” I get, I’ll write a headcanon about our muses.
(No longer accepting!)
Tumblr media
It was difficult for Freeze to adapt to lycanthropy. He isn't the most active or aggressive rogue, but coupled with lycanthropic instincts and he becomes a very temperamental doggo.
2.Despite this, even in werewolf form, Victor still recognizes Kajil. He calms  down significantly around him.
3.Regardless of how angry he gets in werewolf form, Victor’s love for Nora is absolute. He lays down in front of her tube, whimpering.
4.Victor has discussed with Kajil the risks of passing on the lycanthropic virus over to Nora. The regenerative aspects could help her, but is he willing to risk her life for an insane endeavor?

Amped up on amphetamines, I found socially acceptable means of coping with pressure. Stay connected with people. We’ll paint a picture of drama filled with heroism. When you think that you’ve failed too many times, a few skeptics will throw you under the bus. Don’t worry about that. They’re broken, and so are we . . . It’s just that the psyche projects itself upon the world. This leads to war, separation, loss, and trauma. But; it’s worth it, this life thing. Whether it’s your kitty or doggo wondering where mama has gone to during the day or a video game community logging on to shoot the ____ with you for hours, love is not lacking. If you need superstitious or religious practices to function, more power to you. If Science provides a calming order, break out the test tubes and Wikipedia to uncover secrets of infinity. Running that mountain or charging the flame can help to catalyze that inner protagonist who thinks they’re an antagonist at times. It’s true . . . we are fallible. Excuses do lead to more brokenness. But, dang it, you’re human; unless fish and trees somehow learned to read the English language. Mi amigo, I know it’s hard to recall the days where a pacifier or bottle of milk were kryptonite for panic. I realize that he or she broke your heart. Let’s not normalize pain. Let’s not generalize anything through social comparison. The demands and surprises of time will hunt each of us down repeatedly. So, stay connected with what and who you can trust. If that’s a problem, welcome to my struggle homie. The greatest failure in my short existence has been refusing to believe in anything. I could give you the reasons why, but there’s not enough space here. Yup. Why does not change the solution. When willing, help isn’t beyond the breath animating our eternity.
